i am a con/regen ranger and in pvp i was defending sky hammer. this warrior comes in i didn’t even move i just spammed axe 1 and torch. and he was hitting me with a great sword and he was hardly doing any damage while his hp just kept dropping.never beat a warrior that easy.. i was wondering what kind of build was this guy using just found it a little odd

i love it becouse its fun coming across ssome really good players.makes for a great challenge makes you a better player and of corse its fun watching ppl that have no idea how to use there class

wanted to come on and share with you the worst day i have had in pvp.this is how bad it was. me and one necro grabbed the water fall we ended up staying there because they wouldnt stop coming i am talking 3-4 at a time but they were weak never even died yet some how we lost by 100 points. lost another one because the rest of the group was just wanting to kill ppl while other team grabbed orb after orb. tried telling my team we need the orbs there 15poins each i died all the time trying to keep the orb away. i could go on and on the only cool one i lost was me and another ranger grabbed the temple and a thief pops up that we just couldn’t kill at first we thought he might be a hacker but come to find out there was 2 of them and when one would get down to half hp they would swap out and and fight us while the other healed it was funny in the end won maybe 1 out of 3 match all day.anyone else have some horror story’s of bad pvp days

Warriors are a class we seem to counter pretty well. On my ranger its more the mesmers that make me want to rage quit (spvp) unless I have a longbow in the build.

i feel your pain my friend try guarding the tower then all the sudden a Mesmer and an engineer and necro show up that was a match i wanted to rage quit lol

i have a little over 160 pvp matches. came across the first warrior i really couldn’t beat no matter how hard i tried it was a warrior with a hammer every time i tried hitting him even with my evades i would go strait to the ground any tips on warriors with hammers i am a con/regen build axe/ torch sword /war horn build and thank you in advance for any helpful advice

you just want things easy i run a con/regen ranger i win alot but i don’t cry when i am beat i keep trying in fact i got my kittens handed to me on a silver platter earlier from a necro wish there was a way to ban you from pvp your hurting team mates by afking like that

Can you point me in the direction of a viable build?
I realize there are hundreds of builds, but doesn’t mean they are viable for sPVP.

I have a longbow build that I’m looking at but that seems very specific to WvW. Another pet build that looks specific to PvE. Not finding many builds where people are confident in it’s sPVP ability. . .which is maybe why rangers seem useless in sPVP.

It’s just my current perception, that I’m hoping to debunk by locating a tested build.

I think rangers are great. in pvp i always have warriors asking for my build. i am not the best but i get complements all the time. i run a con/regen..sword/warhorn and axe/torch. if your talking about bow rangers then i have no idea if there better

Can you do me a favor? Click through the other 10 threads on the front page of the dungeon subforum where people are complaining about how there aren’t people who don’t skip and give them the name of that guild?

Should we be making a list of these guilds in a sticky to refer people to when they come here to trash us?

i honestly didn’t start the thread to insult anyone. i was just saying my thoughts on the subject. and saying i was playing the way dungeons are meant to be played isn’t an insult its just a fact. just people found away to exploit the game

Players who have ranger as their main usually really hate the stacking/skipping playstyle, some of then are really stubborn and dont stack for nothing. Once i pugged with that youtuber girl who used to make gw2 videos of jumping puzzles and stuff, she was on her ranger using her legendary longbow and nothing that we told convinced her to stack with us, but luckly she didnt pull any agro and didnt spam knockbacks.

i stack all the time .its just that this was a rare time when i got to see what it was like not stacking .now i will go out of my way to find people that don’t stack and it will probobly be a very long time before i do these guys i was with are hardly ever on

This is also the wrong lesson to learn. Many of the people who are able to do lvl 50 fractals, or solo various bosses or even whole fractal levels stack and skip. And they are definitely some of the most skilled players ing GW2.

Well, a melee ranger really is a monster.. if the buffs align The pet hits hard… etc.

To the rangers I have encountered in spvp, please for the love of all that is good stop using entangle. Just because rangers lack active condi cleanse don’t assume other classes do as well. If you are facing anyone competent (besides another ranger who doesn’t have on demand condi clear) all they have to do is instantly cleanse after the ridiculously obvious animation and you just wasted your elite. If you aren’t going to use the OP spirit then at least use RaO, it is much more beneficial overall.

Edit: When I say OP spirit I mean the fact that it is healing more than the tooltip indicates, I actually like spirit rangers overall

i always use entangle in pvp i have not had a problem with it at all. to be honest i cant even take your post seriously. entangle is one of the best skills we have

i don’t think you really know how big Zhaian really is then. when you fight him the dragons in the back ground that look small are really the size of teq so the size your asking for would take up the entire map

They are barely giving Guild Wars 2 any core features original Guild Wars had, and they are making it more and more similar to a traditional MMO.

what game are you playing? guild wars 2 is nothing like a Korean MMO.Korean mmo takes you months to hit max level gw2 you hit max level within 7 days. Korean mmo is all about the grind and 100% gear based gw2 gear is just for looks

So what you actually are saying is that you deserve to get ascended back items without:

a) paying for them
b) doing any work for them

As a comparison you can check what it would cost you to buy the mats for the ‘There with Yakkington: A Traveler’s Tale’-back item, the one with selectable stats. Almost 120g too, roughly.

Remember, it’s not only a nice and unique skin, it also has ascended stats. I’d suggest you guys stick with an exotic version and upgrade it later when you can afford it. It’s not that hard.

i dont want anything for free. i am more then happy to do pve.dungeons for gold to buy it from trading post or from a friend. i log in to have fun i don’t care if it took me a few weeks to grind for gold

lol far from lazy .you know how long it would take to get the gold to buy if from the trading post or buying it from a friend without buying the gold ? a lot longer then a few hours that it would take to get crafting to 500 i log it to have fun i love killing kittens weather its pve or dungeons and by the way i worked my kitten off to get all the cultural armor and volcanus for my alt. im saving up atm for twilight and that will take a year or so for my so no far from lazy

I was looking forward to getting Tempered Spinal Blades . when i found out you have to craft a few parts. i knew i wouldn’t be able to get it. i have 0 in crafting and it will stay that way i hate crafting. i find it very boring. i wish they would let crafted ascended items to be sold. i wouldn’t mind buying one from a guild mate or the trading post. i hope at some point they change that because there are a lot of people that don’t craft

when i went to LA besides doing the events i would heal all the dead to get them to safety.What bugged me about it is the fact everyone would pass up the dead like they didn’t care.Went in a second time same thing it became very clear that it was all about loot when they passed my body and the 16 dead from LA. i am guessing you don’t get anything from helping.I am playing it like the name of the update is called escape from LA should have been called something else if its all about loot and before anyone says well the event we are saving people the fact is there’s almost 10x has many laying dead we could be healing and saving well got that out of my system like i said have no clue why it bugs me still good update hope everyone has fun and i will still heal the dead
