you could go static discharge, couple modifications in gear would be needed to better suit it to whatever your doing in pve but it does alotta damage easy and with out kits

the second build will take out a camp faster but the first build is defiantly the way to go for roaming, great mobility and sustain with huge condition damage. you’ll find the link to the forum post in the info area which has the builds

Yea it gets really annoying not having a reliable stomping method and I tyred to make use of the pistol #3 blind for stomping, I did think about flamer but I felt the block from TK was just to handy to pass up.
Also I do have stacking weapons (I have a ridiculous amount of gear I’ll show yas some time) but I cant help but feel like I’m going to die the moment I get 25 stacks lol, it’s literally my black cat.

I literally run the same exact build, how do you manage to take down good mesmers?
i’m having so much trouble with them
a good mesmer is always going to be a real pain in the kitten to take down and there’s a good chance you wont be able to beat them at all, but when it comes to fighting mesmer’s its all about applying those conditions when you can and as much as you can since they have limited condition removal but alot of mobility as well as the ability to avoid damage all together with invulnerability and using his clones as meat shields, coated bullets is very handy for this since you can shoot threw his clones still apply those bleeds, now that isn’t the biggest amount of damage but it still apply’s pressure on the mesmer, this is where blow torch becomes very handy it hits in a fairly large cone and gets the burning damage on the mesmer and any clones hes kiting behind and burning with a few bleed stacks takes out clones really fast which helps avoid them shattering on you as much as they want.
another thing that is very handy about taking duel pistols apart from nailing clones with burning is glue shot, when you are out of dodges or anything else you can easily plant that on clones and watch them pop out of range but accomplishing something like that all comes down to your own placement making sure you can immobilize as many as possible, but nothing is going to beat sheer experience so i recommend finding a good mesmer who is willing to duel you forever.

i havnt really used coated bullets that much until now since i wanted to apply loads of pressure and it really helps with that when your fighting multiple opponents or around npc’s, yea that life steal is great and the 4# on the runes has a 10 second cd it works great with healing turret and elixir gun, use the turret then EG #4 for the blast finisher and then some one always walks into the puddle, the damage of that puddle isn’t much but it does add a fair bit of extra damage with the leeching and keeps you out of harms way which in a long battle really shines, as for rocket boots and EG #4 you throw in a magnet with that and there’s literally nothing that can get away from you lol

that is very effective, but if your like myself you don’t have easy access to runes of the noble and imo the combination of traits/sigils/runes that you need to take to achieve that puts you in a very delicate position that gives you alot of counters, which isnt so bad since alot of players lack the level of skill needed to counter you so like i said this build is much more universal in its use then running a might stacking build for solo roaming, but might builds on an engineer do hit like a ton of bricks and defiantly something everyone should have a look at.

No reason in particular, while might stacking can give you a very hard hitting attack I feele in solo roaming it forces you to spend less time on the offensive which can be particular bad versus certain professions there’s also the factor of other classes that can steal or remove you boons the moment you apply then wasting a lot of time and utilities, there’s also the factor that you could waste it the wrong time, in saying that might stacking builds are great especially for team play, and every build has its place I feel mine is more universal for solo roaming.
My next build I’m plannning on working on is actually heavy on the might stacking but I’m waiting to see what the new balance patch will bring before I look into it to much
There hasn’t really been many changes in the last 5 months, however the next big balance patch is on the 15th October so my advice would be to take a look around at some stuff and spend a bit of time getting gear or farming a bit so you can get the gear for when the patch comes
i like the idea of a pulsing condition removal, id prefer it if blast finishers in light fields did aoe condition removal though
Another exciting build……i wanted to make a build that focused as much on offensive as possible (without the cheese of perplexity) and that involved getting maximum condition damage without the need for stacking might, basically a build that is always ready to go balls deep, im running 2 builds which shouldn’t be hard to tell apart, the first was great for solo roaming it offered alot of mobility options and great sustain while hitting really hard, the second build (nades) offered great damage and worked alot better in a team.

Actually today when I went to wvw there were no coyotes, I wanted to quickly test something and I couldn’t so I went to the next best thing, the nearby skale and they were missing to I figured that some group kitten d them for stacks but they respawn rather fast and no one ever targets the skale for stacks there was also a nearby zerg fight going on at ruins though is anet removing them to help reduce wvw lag or something? Maybe with the up coming leagues they want to remove all of them to help with large scale fights

I agree with the op, while the new area does look pritty cool for bloodlust (which im loving so far), it really does need a better transition from the usual bl landsacpe, one thing anet should have looked at i think with this is there’s more then just the lake they could have integrated into it like between the garrison and keeps, the keeps and southern towers, just to give it that feel that you are running into a battle field to eventually reach an area devastated by war, but then again if we had this from the start and they threw a lake in instead would we really think its that much diffrent?

I’ve already left GW2 for reasons loosely based on the uselessness of engineers. Grass is much greener over at Rift atm, but who knows what might happen in the future.

Outmanned does already have a tactical buff to it, you know your out numbered now so why are you going to run full charge into a tower/keep knowing your outnumbered, so instead why not use this to your advantage and use small numbers of people to distract aLlarger force ( that you know about thanks to out numbered)
Distract may seem nice on paper but how do you distract? Have you been spawn camp before? The spawn camper build siege to hold people in . Therefore OUTNUMBERED side need MORE people than the campers to have a successful breakout.
Also using the PvE breakout may seem good for low-pop server, for high pop server, the siege champ will get taken out within 1-2min after leaving spawn along with whoever is with him. Bad idea is bad.
This will get worst when the new system comes in as the greater number will want the losing side to stay in spawn .
And Distract don’t win battle. You can’t pull everyone from the spawn-camping and trust me, you will still die with zero reward.
In WvW,reward do play a part.
I tend to go out the other 2 entrances when getting spawn camped, maybe you should see how fast that zerg leaves the entrance and there siege when you cap the side camps and move on from there they only want them kills stop entertaining them, it’s like you think there’s only one option, you ever thought how small groups beat zergs? It’s called player skill and tactics, try learning some and lets not also forget the option of tactical retreat, obviously that zerg camping your spawn doesn’t want you taking there border lands so go somewhere else if you are unable to do anything on that particular

How about you have a repeatable achievement for different things that rewards you when you do enough, like the current wvw achievements but on a much smaller scale like 100 supply spent on repairs get you a reward (loot bag with ascended mats preferably) and then just remove the drops from wvw npcs so people focus on the things they can get done and not farming champions, this means you get rewarded no matter what you do, how many people do you think would split from zergs just to go defend a base because building some seige or repairing a wall/gate wwhile still rewarding them and not taking anything away from the rewards they could get if they were still with the zerg

I’d recommend them making a loot bag that can only drop from player kills that randomly gives some of the items you need for ascended gear, I think it would promote running proper teams in wvw and less unorganized zerg blobing (even though zergs have the numbers) we have all seen how effective a small organized team can do versus a blob, people would actually have incentives to go do proper PvP in wvw instead of blobing

well I give you the Engi of Bursting (dont let the name fool you)
using the correct combination of sigil/runes and traits i have come up with a build that has huge base condition damage (over 2k with ascended) and thanks to dire a massive tank to compliment it.
Sure you could get higher condition damage off running HGH with the new runes of the noble but you lack in other skills to truly keep up the condition spam, you also lack in endurance which is an absolutely huge factor to taking on many opponents, and at this current state of the game boons just are not covering a wide enough basis to make HGH good enough to run versus a multitude of different targets in solo or small team roaming.
you could also choose to run perplexity, its easy and way over the top on damage, but hell if your anything like me the novelty of that wore off a while ago and you just feel cheap now.
any way enough of why i think it should be used heres the build.
The skills are completely up to you but im sure we are most likely thinking along the same lines, i am aware that not every one will be able to get access to the ascended gear they want but exotic gear should be enough to jump you up to the stats you need, also im not sure if anyone has already done something like this so throw some credit there way as well.
Lastly there are alot of things you can change in the traits to make this build more appropriate to individual player style. its mostly the gear that needs to stay the same, so have a tinker with it and feel free to post what changes you would make.
Well atm I can run the game at best quality and have no fps problems out side of massive zerg action, I keep it on low quality a lot though since I use fraps a lot, with nades it only causes issues when my view is up really close which in spvp can be an issue some times because of the terrain, in wvw and pve it’s no problem since lots of open area.
Yea I didn’t run nades on my old pc for that reason and on my new much much better pc I have to make sure my view is right out so I don’t get kittened up fps which is easier said then done in spvp
I’m not sure how to take this comment, on one hand we are in quite a good place on the other hand there are class that are in a ridiculous position, so while I’d like to see more attention given to the engineer I think that more focus on other classes is in a way a buff for the engineer, and obviously there’s the bug issue that we all hate but we still have some viable builds (wvw we have a lot of viable builds) all in due time I guess, balance patch soon and it’s certainly been while so who knows how much attention Thayer have actually shown us but havnt given us
Complains about zergs. …… roams with the zerg, nice work players on perpetuating the cycle that you blame anet for, how could anet have a game mode like wvw and make It apply to the massive amount of players and make it fair, maybe remove the commander tag so no one knows where to group up for the massive zerg fest since that’s what most people do in wvw, like whats a pug genna do when there’s no blue Doritos to follow around aimlessly
Lolololo I love that people are still talking about this rune and still trying to defend it, IT’S OVERPOWERED that is clear, infact someone tell me what other rune is better for a condition build please.
Maybe they are waiting on ascended armour to bump it up to its best potential seeing as there isn’t really any concrete evidence to say that bundles were dropped back to the original state, a friend of mine did say that power was the main factor for damage output rather then weapon damage it’s self so it’s safe to assume that the damage was only dropped 2.5% and will be upgraded to it’s full potential when we have the other half our armour worth of ascended gear
I’d go rabid but mostly I’d say the gear should really come down to your build atm I’m using apothecary since I don’t rely on crit proc conditions and I find superior healing with toughness to be better then vitality, then again my condition pressure is a lot less then that of a full carrion/rabid build but allows me sit up front and in your face more easily when coupled with the right traits so thats how I maintain pressure, alternatively you could look at the new dire gear but I’m not sure on its potential over other gear you could take, either way it’s best to see what suits you based on the situations you find your self in
Well kitten, I normally use apothecary/rabid, dont want precision but more condition damage with out losing tank, I’ll get exactly whAt I want with this armour I feel the over poweredness coming already
Maybe make sentrys do a ping like there little flag on the map lights up when they see some one and have it do different pings based on the amount of people it sees so there is a reason for it being a sentry worth getting to have better upto date information about enemy movements on the map, this I think would help with the splitting up of zergs like sending ahead a few roamers to cap sentrys to avoid easy detection of the larger group

Also they need to do something about people auto attacking me while I’m downed that kitten is totally op, people shouldn’t be able to aoe downed people while there getting ressed in a zerg that’s just broken mechanics
To many Asura engineers, make a sylvari engineer
Mortar needs to be a kit, with a duration or limited ammo and a short CD (40 seconds maybe) if they were to change it to a kit it should at least be called a bazooka, stats should effect it, the same skills would be fine and it wouldn’t need huge damage as you would be mobile with it, that’s my opinion on the mortar anyway, since as it is no part of the mortar fits with any build and it’s effectiveness is low compared to the supply drop, you could debate it’s effectiveness in wvw for defending and attacking but if that’s what you want to do then nades heavily out classes the mortar for that anyway.
And just like most 1v1 situations, this rune set is pretty much moot in a zerg vs. zerg battle.

i really want to see a 25 confusion epidemic, lets get a group of engineers mesmers and necros together with runes of perplexity and condition spam zergs to doom
if you take the perma vigor/swiftness combo with 15 points into the tools trait line with bomb kit and rocket boots and what ever other utility you want (id take TK) throw in a sigil of energy and rune of the adventurer add a shield, you get a build that if it isnt dodging every attack thrown at it, its blocking the rest only to blind every one and stealth away with rocket boots, you can even go 1 step further and take runes of melandru with 20 point tools trait leg mods and lemon grass poultry soup and get 98% reduction to cripple chill and immobilize making you literally impossible to stop, throw in the stealth on immo trait and run around for days dodging blocking and stealthing your way threw every encounter.
while your at it why not take healing turret with a full set of apothcary/settlers and blast heal you and your team to full health, while your at it why not take elixir infused bombs to max out aoe healing/damage potential, or just take elixir gun for obvious reasons.
anyway as far as mobility goes for the engineer skys the limit for what you could potentially do to maximize what you want to accomplish, in wvw at least anyway.

I have fought many good players with this and I’ll tell you what happens, there condition removal has no chance to keep up with the confusion stacking and they are forced to either run away or eat the confusion damage, there is no losing with this rune unless you are a very bad player

If a group of people stomp me I’ll oftenly join there party and ask for some duels or if there interested some group duels, more often then not I’m the one that gets abused, however thieves that run around just permanent stealthing till you get bored of there kitten well they deserve a bit of spamming.
I don’t see the problem with it atm (I mostly do wvw) anyway with the meta the way it is atm and anet not doing any balance till pax is over we can atleast be happy we can farm lots of gold to alter builds and such when pax is over, also considering the fact that ascended weapons/armour is coming we should take the opportunitie to farm while we can.
