Can anyone make a vid of the hidden pistol toolbelt skill? I don’t feel like having to make a charr engineer + getting to 20ish just to see what it looks like.

See the thing here is every other class can run a cheesy omg faceroll build but still have some conditon removal IN THEIR HEAL SKILL! And even when fully hunkered down a mesmer is worse with condi removal than most
Others because even the minor trait that removes with heal skills only removes ONE! So in a TEAM fight warriors will be better off against an HGH than even a full bunker mes

I don’t think mesmers are over powered in competitive team play but by all means, I think mesmer is the last class that should be QQing about engineers.
edit: The only class that truly gets the right to QQ at the moment is warrior.
Warrior has better inherent Condi removal than mesmer… Every class has some condi removal in one or more their heal skills EXCEPT mesmer in order for us to get condition removal that can maybe hold a.candle to others is by using two utility slots and 10pts in a trait line that has no place in most shatter builds… And mesmer should be one of the first classes screaming about the obscene overpoweredness of this build because if a full healing shout guard gets melted how is a mesmer with the.worst Condi removal in this game supposed to handle it?
So just because warrior can remove a few condi’s the class is better off than the mesmer?

This always gives me a good chuckle.
Each map needs a seperate leaderboard. Maps are too different especially because of the different secondary mechanic each map houses and players perform different on every map. Just noticed it when the map of the tPvP rotation switched to Foefire and I started to lose more.
I want to be rank 1 for capricorn.

No. I’m not sure if anyone knows the build as well as me because I created it and played it for months before anyone started to run it. I theory craft and try new things constantly and understand what every permutation of HGH enables a player to do. I strive to make the best build humanly possible and understand every bit of the build from stat distribution to condition application and raw physical damage. If you think you know more about this build than me you’re insane. I’ve played almost 4.3k damges on my engi, a good 2k of which was with some version of HGH.
But AGAIN, I agree it’s overpowered, I’ve stated as much a billion kittening times and was the first to say it.
I feel like you need to be called out on a few things.
This dude didn’t even try and discredit you, and you readying an immense e-penor for battle.
While I have full faith that you do intimately know every condi-nade variant, your playstyle is something that develops independently. Not every variant is going to be optimal for your exact playstyle, or in every encounter.
You don’t need to present yourself like some kind of inhuman guru that has exclusive understanding on the depth of these builds. Hell, I, like other Engineers I’m sure, have the mental capacity to ‘c wat u did thar’ and conclude most of the same findings that you did with regards to what builds are hot right now. I know you’re proud of the sigil of battle you slapped on a common condi-nade build, but please don’t act like it means that you invented the MMO genre. Stahp.
While you’ve been near strictly throwing nades since launch, and you have the most games played NA, this means you stomp the sheit out of most people. Does this mean that since you’ve had great success, you’re forgetting to admit your complete bias when you’re screaming “ENGIES ARE DISGUSTINGLY OVERPOWERED” on repeat? Absolutely.
In February, your main build was an HGH Power nade build. Condi-nade build something you ran 25% of the time. You’ve said on forums many times that condi-nade builds were simply not optimal in large teamfights, about 20,000 times, due to excessive condition clearing from the ranger/ele meta.
In March, last month, your main build switched to Condi-nades. This is where, according to your forum history, you start screaming that it’s overpowered. Repeatedly. Like every post since then.
What’s up with you, dude? I feel like you’re going a little off the deep end. I feel in terms of balance, a top Engineer on your team is not going to swing odds in your favor more than a top Elementalist or Guardian. Engineers can duel the pants off most classes, but you still lose if you get outplayed. A few might stacks above average, IMO.
Don’t get me wrong, I respect the hundreds of hours & thousands of games you have logged on Engineer. Just getting a little tired of your slanted preaching, heh.

And they can have access to some really cool armors.
My only gripe with picking charr is that even though everyones base movement speed is the same, the animation just feels slower or slugging. Does anyone else get this?

There’s no point arguing with you. You feel like min/maxing dps is the way to go and good for you for choosing cookie cutter builds. Just don’t spread your close mindedness to others that want to try and be creative.
I don’t use cookie cutter builds. Ask anyone, I run the dumbest kitten in PvP. I’m just not stupid enough to think that being some kind of special butterfly in this game is going to reward you by being good enough.
I’d think that the non turret build may win in a dual but that’s not the point I was making. Viability is dependent on whatever you want to achieve. You’re focusing purely on 1v1 PvP. Turrets can be used for PvE leveling or farming. I’ve seen some builds for turret bunkers too and the author swears by their “viability”, though I don’t sPvP so I can’t say how great they are.
Turrets are not even viable in pve. Point still stands.
Hidden Pistols are fun and not all medium armour looks bad on Charr. Go for it!

Based on what? It’s viable because you saw it on a youtube video and decided to copy it? I don’t run grenades, bombs, or all elixirs with HGH and I have no problems in WvW or PVE. What should matter is if you can take down the other guy or boss.
Agreed. Some people just can’t see past the FOTM builds to make their own.
Non-Elixir builds are viable.
Non-Kit builds are viable.
Turret builds are viable.I wouldn’t say any build you can make is viable, not as if that is unique to the Engineer anyways that’s part of the game, but you don’t need X skill or X trait to be “viable” — whatever twisting that word has gone through to mean.
If all ManCaptain is saying is that you can’t just throw together any combination of skills and traits well I completely agree with that, it’s just not a revolutionary statement. That’s part of how the game is designed.
You are wrong. Let’s assume that we have 2 players of equal skill. But one is running HGH condi nades and one is running triple turrets. Do you honestly think the turret engi is going to win? Can you go as far as blatantly lie and say the turret engi even has a sliver of a chance of winning that fight?

If there was a tournament announced with real money involved a lot of old players would definitely come back. But unfortunately this game is just not ready for that kind of stuff with all the bugs / glitches / balance problems / lack of infrastructure.
Tool kit #1 is slow… but in a power build it hits like a truck!

You forgot the part where the ele can cleanse every condition before using rtl like a “good” ele would do.
thats why i wouldnt mind having it being affected by slows AND SWIFTNESS..
It would make me a better roamer getting at 1600 range plus at worst case i would get ether renewal..but you would still complain, wouldnt you??and pls for the love of god..cantips ele is like THE meta ..go find out when and how he cleanses conditions.

No, I want eles to have mobility. I just don’t want them to have damage, cleave damage, support, one of the best kiting abilities in the game, best disengage in the game, great sustain all in one build. That’s all
Turrets are not designed to be pets or clones or spirits for that matter. They were designed to be zone defenders. The reason they are so weak is because of they have to be balanced when used in conjunction with other turrets and the whole PVP balance = PVE balance. Turrets are suppose to give your opponents a tough time when they enter their zone.
I think alot of players not necessarily you are trying to make them into something they are not. They are not buff totems or utility skills that you use once for the effect then blow up/pick up.

edit: I’m not whining, I’m being logical. I’m sorry we all want your main nerfed but it has to happen and I hope your other specs get buffed as well.
How about if turrets act as another “pet”. Mesmer clones can have buffs so why can’t turrets? Turrets would survive longer and would be more relevant if they could have protection, regen etc. Maybe add in a trait that allows the engineers boons to be shared with turrets?

what i meant to say is that they will not directly nerf HGH since the community is still upset about KR. what they might do is prevent runes that increase might duration from stacking with 1 another. this would be an game wide nerf so they wouldn’t feel guilty for destroying another engi build
What I’m afraid of is this outcome :

Agree with penguin, but i do think they will go for might stacking builds by nerfing skills, they could simply nerf might duration stacking on the runes.
also, theif can get 25 mights easier than any other class, they just have soo much burst damage that they don’t need it.. they get 15s mights on every dodge on a minor trait, and 15s might while in stealth, and activating a signet gives them 5 might for 5s. a 25 might spike is really easily achieved, specially for S/P
Warriors can also perma 25 might, Guardians, Necros, ele all by using the x3 20% might runes
If they nerf engineer skills that would make might stacking even stronger because engineer is already kitten without might stacking.

Bounce and damage wise. Yes, it is similar to thief short bow with the difference that you can use this on a burst (fire many at the same time), which should be reason enough to add a 1-20s cooldown on it.
It’s not a good build no matter how you look at it. You will find yourself spamming 1 more than often on rifle because you blew everything and you are literally useless once you do that. Not to mention the damage is incredibly mediocre.
