Its simple:

1) You fools babble about how broken the engy is.

2) I offer to PROVE that it is not.

3) Respondents either log in and lose a substantial portion of our fights, or just fail entirely and won’t even fight.

Ironically, I’m not even claiming to be nearly a great player. Even more evidence that the class is fine and most of you just suck.

If I’m a “unique butterfly” because I love the class as is, and don’t want to see it dumbed down to make you lazy clickers happy… sure, I’ll wear that.

Hence, you’re just more babble in the sea of noise.

I don’t know what you mean by “broken”, but from the context of your response I am under the influence you mean people are saying the class is kitten I don’t know where you get this influence from but the general notion is that the engineer is actually currently one of the top classes in tournament setting PvP, so you are actually wrong there.

What I’m saying :

Why use a flamethrower when grenade kit scales way better with power and condition damage.

Why use a flamethrower when grenades can be used to help team fights from 1500 range away.

When are you going to use your flamethrower other than the knock back and the smoke field.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for using a variety of builds but grenade kit by far surpasses anything you want to do with flamethrower kit.

Since they removed the double pop on FT 2 no it’s not really viable. Sure you can make a build for kittens and giggles but don’t plan on killing anyone.

Do you know that this banner also gives 12 minutes of (Pre-nerf) aoe quickness with 1200 radius? But only during fullmoon.

Remove the moon already anet!

I heard you can counter it with a quadruple turret engie. it seemz that these 4 turrets when used together create an “anti super OP war” mechanical field which hinders these OP banners and then you can have a chance.

this hoping the war doesn’t have Rampage as elite.

in that case, may god show his mercy.

If you manage to plant 4 turrets on the map you actually auto win the game, it’s like a nuke in COD.

I made a thread before the recent patch and it seems that you guys at ANET took it to heart.

Warrior burst was beyond ridiculous and needed to be fixed. It was so stupid how warrior could come in and 1 shot everyone with quickness hundred blades, I even saw numbers as high as 59k with a SINGLE slash of the 100 blade attack.

This is a positive step into the future of the game but we still need to fix things such as:

Kill Shot damage
Pin Down bleed

Oh and endure pain is single handedly the most broken skill in this game.

More obvious visual indicator? Isn’t your toons head like, glowing ’n stuff?

I am confused now.

I would prefer something like that wow addon that flashes skill icon when it is off cooldown. Particle effects in this game are bit over the top.

might as well have the game announcer announce every condition you have while you’re at it.

pre-patch I was keeping up with elementalists and also kicking them around in wvwvwv as en engineer, like I always said, all you people just didn’t want to put the extra effort into becoming GOOD. Shame on you.

After the nerf to elixir gun though I’m not much of a healer anymore. I’d like to point out though that backpack regenerator gives the same effect as being attuned to water, constant regeneration, and yes, 100% scaling with healing power.

um, backpack re generator is a fixed 125 hp per second trait and does not scale with healing power at all. And it isn’t a regen boon.

edit: How do you talk about other engineers not putting in the work to be “good” when you yourself don’t even know how engineer traits work lol.

We’ve had a “big pvp patch” for every month since 5 months ago now.

Please make a thread saying bunker is OP so they can tone it down already. Apparently they only listen to your trolling

The New Meta for WvW

Hi guys/gals,

As some of you know I have been a very strong supporter of the 100% Condition Duration builds, but it unfortunately was debatable about whether condition damage + HGH was stronger.

Now the answer is very clear, but this little buff wasn’t in the Engineer changes. It came in the form of condition duration fixes on Giver’s Weapons. It is now possible to “double” the duration of all conditions and use HGH

I tried this build out and I have been kitten face.

The build:
20/20/00/30/00

Explosives: Burn Chance & Might on Heal
Firearms: Swiftness & Hair Trigger
Alchemy: S, Duration, & HGH

All Rabid gear with Lyssa, Mad King, major Lyssa (might be able to swap out – will test)
2x Giver’s Pearl Hand cannon with Earth & Corruption/Restoration

With this I’m sitting at 107% (Not sure if they fixed the problem when the % wasn’t over 50% increments it wouldn’t count)

Basically I can get over 2k condition damage at double the duration. Pretty sexy.

I’m currently using:
P/P, Elixir H, B & C, & the amazing Pry bar that now has a 10 second confusion. If I run into a large group vs large group situation I swap Toolkit for FT. I’ve actually have had a lot of success with Elixir X, but thinking Supply Crate is still better.

Buffs:
Oil and Rare Veggie Pizza.

So yes turrets without the toughness/HP buff was a bit disappointing as well as the KR changes, but hey at least P/P HGH got a huge boost.

Finally my dreams come true.

Why would that matter, they get destroyed by AOE in under 5 seconds anyways.

This is something everyone will deal with.

And now it’s an instant cast making it less clunky, no longer has Quickening Zephyr, breaks stuns, and now always gives a projectile block combo field when thrown.

Elixir U got a lot of help with this patch. I may start using it with my PPHGH build in sPvP.

Do not get me wrong I am trying to look at this objectively since I am saying this prematurely from work. Stun break is not a big deal when you have other elixirs dedicated to stun breaks. How many elixir stun breaks does one need? Elixir U was the main component in one of my DPS strings. So, I will get less dps with my p/s/elixer/condi build. Quickening Zephyr is not that big of a deal when you are ranged. Now, if it was frenzy and Quickening Zephyr that they got rid of, I would look at the change as a buff.

I don’t consider the haste nerf a nerf to engineer at all seeing as elixir U barely increased engineer dps at all seeing as engineer dps builds are either going to be spike damage or condition. Have fun killing anything with quickness flamethrower, quickness grenade 1 spam or quickness rifle 1.

We knew we were losing kit refinement. Did you really expect a 10 point trait to remain that powerful?

Yet rangers have a 5 POINT trait that gives them quickness everytime they swap pets. Seems legit.

you gotta understand the poor guys tho, pets did 60% of their damage, the ranger itself damage is nothing but pretty animations, so quickness help balance this.. and now they are taking a huge hit!

Yeah the rangers damage itself better be pretty animations when pets like jaguar and birds basically do 5k passive damage quite often.

Throughout our journey together, we have experienced an abundance of blatant brokeness of the frenzy utility on the warrior. It was clear that the frenzy utility needed a nerf, as it was completely broken and unfair how one could deal so much damage while taking 50% more damage. Atleast you’re not a warrior, their dps literally just got halved. Plus elixir U didn’t even synergize with anything engineers had, and now it’s also a stun break.

I’m not a fan of the Healing Turret personally. I’m a Med Kit guy and have been for a while for on-heal proc effects like Altruism. But Cleansing Burst is very powerful, and anyone who runs Med Kit + Elixir Gun have two condition removal skills with Drop Antidote and Super Elixir on very short cooldowns when traited (20 and 16 seconds respectively).

Elixir C + R is more my speed for sPvP though.

We’ll be fine. The sky is not falling.

I prefer healing turret because it’s basically impossible to interrupt

and med kit is too much active healing for me. Less time healing = more time damagin

Pfft, turrets still suck…. the two most viable Tpvp builds both contain primarily elixirs one being HGH pistol elixirs and the other being HGH rifle/grenade build. Not much changed other than the fact 100 nades is now gone.

Atleast we have a reason to take elixir U now.

My only gripe with rocket boots is how inefficient it is with chain stuns / chain immobs/ or things like basilisk venom and worst of all shocking aura.

And sometimes the stealth from the combo gives you the debuff stun because you hit someone with rocket boots.

Rocket boots should throw us in a random direction.

Pro:
If we’re lucky it’ll help chase down someone fleeing

Con:
We fall of a cliff

Rocket boots are very easy to aim offensively once you get used to the “aboutface” key binding.

Nothing more offensive than flying yourself to your enemy and stunning yourself for a good 2-3 seconds. Nice thinking

Prediction.

A few changes will be very build altering.
Most changes will be trivial or just bug fixes and tooltip cleanup.

Ranger will get overbuffed and become the the FotM profession.

Mesmer will get an unbalancing skill that makes them even more of an essential WvW profession.

Thieves will see a large decrease in numbers when they realize that they cannot gank nearly as easily without culling help.

Culling will be removed causing large spikes in lag for most players that refuse to turn down their gfx settings.

WvW will be reduced to large skill lagged zerg fights tht consist of 70% Necros, 10% Mesmers, 10% Guardians then a mixture of Rangers and Eles.

After a few more months the WvW population will drastically decrease due to massive unplayable lag. The only players left will be the hardcore ones that turned all their settings to low and selected the “See nameplate only option”

WvW will turn into invisible nameplate fighting.

To lower the upkeep costs of the game Anet will start reducing the amount of other in game gfx and models.

Xmas time of 2013 the majority of GW2 players will have left and bought a PS4 or Xbox 720 and WvW now has an option to change all game gfx’s to dots and lines.

A cult forms with 50 members who do nothing but play WvW 13 hours aday on the same team and spend the whole time killing yaks, or to them, the Grey Dots.

Justin Beiber mistakes a newly released prisoner on vacation for paparazzi and punches him, Justin Beiber is subsequently basstaped to death.

I’m trying to stay overall positive.
*Rocket kick animation changed

  • Revamped/new gadget traits
  • Battering ram is either long or aoe.

Turrets:

  • Increase health by 30%
  • Increase damage on rifle
  • Thumper cripples
  • Still no fix for rifled barrels and jump shot
  • no fix for scope

Plus expected 100nades/toolkit nerfs

Buffing toolkit and then overnerfing it to trash, sounds like ANET alright.

They don’t do paltry damage, flame turret applies burning quickly and easily not to mention it attacks quickly, as for rifle turret… It deals decent damage pre overcharge (not -a ton- but a good amount) and then once overcharged it gains quickness and applies bleeding on every shot for 10s, that’s REALLY strong, it stacks up bleeding really easily.

You do realize that the Flamethrower’s Flame Jet does all of this, right? Perma burn + pretty good Bleed stacking, a knockback, and AoE blind all in one slot. The only thing that your turret setup has is the Smoke field, which….
