lol. you understand how much health a flesh wurm has compared to a clone? If a person could walk by auto attack once and keep walking.. then yes i do think you should still be able to teleport. Flesh wurm also is designed as a turret that does damage.
im not saying it produces 0 damage. im saying it isnt better then sword. but its your playstyle. go for it. sword is nerfed now anyway.
all they do is screw mesmers over and over.. stealth izerker damage nerf, iwarden broken, sword 2invuln=evasion over and over nerfs. plus the pages of bugs that were shipped with the game that they refuse to address.
This change was intended as a nerf.. There is no way they could change this weapons ability without knowing it would kitten the weapon.. Weather you want to debate if the tooltip matched or w/e dosent even matter.. The class is balanced around the current state of the weapon(the way it has been since the game shipped). For them to change that is a nerf.. not a bug fix.
There is no way these people are this block headed to do this and actually think they are fixing a “bug” This is a straight nerf and they are hiding behind bull/s politics.
It is like anet takes thier tactics straight from corrupt government. passing bills in the middle of the night when people wont pay attention. saying they are helping you as they screw you over. next is deny deny deny.

This is what I use for WvW roaming right now. I’m average skill level despite lots of hours of play. I feel like I can win any 1v1 with this build (though I screw up and die sometimes – especially to good thieves). You can get around pretty quickly with Travelers runes and traited blinkittenep a focus in my inventory (which I keep open) so I can swap that in when running across the map.
I’m testing out a condi handling strategy of Arcane Thievery plus two generosity sigils. It’s an expensive experiment, but I like to keep tweaking.
The issue with this is that scepter adds nothing to this build. it will do pretty much 0 damage and would be 100x better with a functioning mainhand sword.
it is a nerf vs anyone who isnt single target. hambow. ground spamming engis.. eles.. necros. or any fight that those professions are around. since they dont even try to kill targets they just throw things random.
ya.. you cant use sword anymore since the nerf.. or it would be silly. greatsword + ?
i think travelers kinda gimps condi pu. Mesmer is too slow to roam without it.. So, not sure what the fix to this is.
This is one of the worst nerfs mesmers have ever received. It shuts down one of our main weapons and one of our only methods of pvp control. The fact that anet did another “stealth nerf” to mesmers is kinda crazy.. This isnt the first time they nerfed mesmers and tried to pull the wool over our eyes about it saying “bug fix” or “i dont know why izerker does 25 percent less damage” the underhandedness of it really leaves me sour about the game.
it only took about 5 months of people whining like little girls for them to nerf mesmer to uselessness. if you balance your game around whiners it turns into garbage.
i agree leap isnt the only way to land damage as a shatter mesmer.. but it is the only way that locks your enemy in place for the blurred frenzy. if you want to do garbage damage there are alot of ways. those ways are countered by the enemy walking. if you want to just generate clones to shatter them that isnt really playing well.
the issue many people have fighting mesmers.. like mentioned above.
NEVER TAB TARGET.. you are dieing because you fail to learn the basics.
also turn off your auto target.. all auto target does is force you to target clones instead of staying on the main mesmer.
ileap+ blurred frenzy is the only way a shatter mesmer can lock you down and land damage.. if you dont have 1 ablilty to avoid 1 move then you may be playing your class wrong.
you are playing spvp. dont be shy calling target on the mesmer so he has a big red target over his head and you can tell what one to click.
if you are playing vs a shatter mesmer he is very squishy and has no condition removal.
i heard you saying stun+ frenzy.. think you mean root.
if a mesmer goes invis they are most likely trying to hide the fact they are about to shatter combo. they will invis and dodge which does not break stealth then set up an ileap combo. be ready to dodge the leap or use a stun break.
its similar to fighting a glass cannon theif. if they steal+backstab combo you with basalisk on… you dont sit there and wait to die. you react.
again.. in response to the person saying it clones are overpowered because you need to tab target to get to the real mesmer…….
STOP TAB TARGETING.. it is like keyboard turning.
btw. zelulose posts in every professions forum telling them that he is one of them and how to play thier class. just let him fade away he is just seeking attention. “us necros” us guardians need this" “my sword thief” hes also posting in one thread saying he is an unstoppable mesmer then calling to nerf his own spec in another thread. its almost a troll with no punchline.
the reward is no reward.. so you can go outside and not worry if you are falling behind in the grind for the grand prize. the point is that this isnt wow so you have no endless grind that gets extended every patch just so you have an excuse to not do real life things.
play until the fun wears off then do something else. you cant hide here forever.. after a while you will need to go outside. or go to wow and grind the best gear for the month and stand in stormwind/org and hope someone notices you.
i agree the system is useless. the issue i have is that it is now a part of the game and people can in some way consider it useful information.
in reality it is relevant information to anet not other players. since what is important to people who run a mmo is time played per person.
adding a /playedpvp would have = the same thing pretty much and they could have saved thier time and effort for bug fixing.
dosent the forge create exact items. it isnt rng.
but my question is.. why not give loot out for playing well… really no rewards.. what would it hurt to reward gameplay. especially since most of the loot would have no effect on the pve side of the game.. put long hard acheivments to grind to get something cool.
it cant hurt and could only help imo.
ehh. rangers are one of the least professions i see. usually the top are guardians and warriors for some odd reason.. every once in a while you get a theif heavy spvp and whatever team has more theives usually loses because they run too mucha nd refuse to hold points. i never see a ton of mesmers but a consistant 2 atleast maybe 3 per spvp(not the majority)
and like dashi said .. a small group of premades should beat anyone really. nomatter what profession they are.
hmm. ill go on my mesmer and not use mindwrack or blurred frenzy and still kill you.. what will you want to nerf at that point?
at some point you will need to learn how to play
what class is whining about clones vs a glass cannon…… just use any aoe and clear the area. or like 1000 people said dodge into the clones not away. or just walk away from them and let them blow themselves up.
if blurred frenzy did not have invuln on it the mesmer would be dead before it ended in most situations.
vs a zerker mesmer they have nothing other then wrack/blurred frenzy.. learn those moves and you can stop whining and win instead. why bother comming here instead of practicing,, maybe get a freind who is a mesmer and ask him for a tip or hint..
dont just assume you are good enough to win and look for an excuse for why you didnt.
in pvp there are people i face that have no issue with dodging a shatter.. are they better then you or are they cheating?

this is going to be another thread where we teach a new player the tricks of how to beat a mesmer just so we can stop them from complaining about us. i think we are the only profession that needs to do this in order to avoid nerfs.
phantasms were nerfed the same patch as torch fix.
wow has alot more money so they can do things like run a test realm and get thier basic buggs fixxed. i dont play it anymore because the nerf bat swings too wild and i dont want to level an alt every patch.
gw2 is free monthly so they are more concerned with selling boxes and promoting gemstore items then they are at retaining playerbase. which is why most professions still have profession glitches that were shipped with the game.

“wait it out” the issue is this is not wow. this game can crumble from lack of players. they are still riding the game of the year for all its worth and its not worth that much at this point.
pve fixes and nerfs seem to be thier priority. and gimic new content for pve.
im not here to pve and i know alot of other people could give a crap less about pve content also. time is ticking on getting thier act together as thier playerbase dwindles.
at some point people are going to realize it isnt that cool to be T1 in pvp when that pvp is based on garbage mechanics and bugg fighting.
the biggest issue is.. we are going to keep getting nerfed until the class is so bad that stupid people can beat us even when they cant figure out who the real mesmer is.
you cant buff anyone elses skill so you can only nerf our mechanic and it is the root mechanic of the class so nerfing traits wont even matter. the class itself will need to be taken apart until clones nolonger fool scrubs.
The real issue AGAIN is dumb people dont know how to track the real mesmer.
and from ANETS history they do follow through with thier nerfs and are not as consistant in following through with thier buffs/fixes.
what profession do you think is actually hard. i would agree engineers are more complex but for the most part professions in this game are pretty basic. 2 7xgm anatomy mages in ultima online fighting eachother is more complex then any 2 professions in this game fighting and that game is 15 years old.
ranger/guardian/necro/theif? hard to play.. not really.
i would say they are easier to play then mesmer.. its just that mesmer isnt hard either.
the skill cap on all classes was higher in ultima online or vanilla wow.
the pvp system isnt very complex for the most part. you have basic cc, basic defensive ability and basic damage buttons. it is no chess match between classes, your build either has the tools to deal with your opponents tools or you do not.
the only reason mesmers are viable in pvp is because they trick stupid people. if they didnt have the clones that should be ignored thier utility wouldnt be that great. the fact taht anyone falls for clones this late in the game is a l2 kitten ue and mesmers will get nerfed until clones are balanced for brand new players to fight against.. so im jumping that ship early because it takes alot of nerfing to balance vs a player who puts no effort into learning the basics of other classes.
vs most people in spvp i could just sit with staff making clones and never shattering them with 0 traits and end up winning. so that profession is destine for bad things.
engineer seems fun and dynamic already to me. seems like it takes alittle more skill and alittle less gimic / tricking dummies to win. so ill try and see that as a good sign for the professions future.
anet is alittle trigger happy on nerfs/odd balance choices. if engineer getgs screwed over im out of gw2 anyway so its worth the effort before abandoning the game all together.

aye. mesmers have nowhere to go but down. every patch forces 50% of mesmers to farm a full set of new gear. the only trait spec that has not been destroyed is a shatter build so far. i want a stable class that has spec options that are not going to go away each patch.
can someone with knowedge of the class tell me if you think anet will buff nerf or leave you the same in future patches…
i want to try a new profession… but the way anet treated mesmers up until now makes me alittle skeptical of putting the effort into leveling a character.
the thing i dont want is to put a bunch of effort into something just to have it nerfed to a garbage state like mesmers see each patch.
seems they want professions with super low skill caps to compete with complex professions. making the only benefit of a skill based character that you need to do more work to get the same result.
i usually see a pretty balanced group in spvp. maybe 3 mesmers max. most of the time they are out numbered by guardians and thieves. and almost every person in spv kitten ome kind of bunker for thier profession which is a little annoying.
ohh. you care about balance in pve.. sounds wierd. who cares about pve numbers. you guys must be in a panic sweat without dps meters.

heh. the thing that boggles my mind is. i would think that people who were smart enough to create this game from scratch would be smart enough to balance/run it.

so someone who isnt focused on izerker phant damage + running the best gear + fighting anyone with any toughness should see around 1k – 1.5k if all thier hits land.
nice weapon. seems fine no need to fix.
if 2 of the hits land which seems to be the average 500 damage… SWEEET

how do you buff stupid people enough to beat smart people without nerfing stupid people that play mesmers.
the problem is that anet looks at the strongest potential of a class and compares that to the worst players of another class and nerfs to balance that.
confusion wasnt killing good players. and good players were balanced vs confusion specs. same with thief stealth. but it killed alot of dummies. so it got nerfed.
it should be balanced around the best players of each class. if they can go back and forth evenly with even skill they are balanced.
they should balance the class based on thier potential and make people who suck strive for that potential to be balanced vs the best of another profession. but they tone down the top end to make crappers comparable to the best geared/played.
do you shake the mouse every time you frenzy or is that the move doing it. i dont think my frenzy shakes like that.

welcome to gw2. while you do not miss the glitches in your own profession. tahts how they all are. so its not an engineer being up or o kitten ue. its a anet cant fix thier buggs issue. most professions are lucky if they have more then 1 useable trait spec.
ya. wouldnt say engineers are op. i dont play them but i fight them all the time and the word op seems to be thrown around alot by whiners. engineers seem like they are in a good spot imo.
the thing is see. most engineers get mowed down in pvp. but there are some that are crazy good. i think its a l2 kitten ue .. or a spec issue.. dont play the profession with the hardest learning curve if you arent willing to hit the top of the curve before your judge the class.
