well. it seems you are saying that for condition to be useful you need to change it completely. that seems odd because they were great before a 50% nerf..
maybe knee jerk reaction to a spell is not the correct answer.. 25 percent nerf and see how it goes or something that isnt as dumb as just smashing the spell leaving no room for tuning because everyone stopped playing it.
50 percent nerf may as well be a 100 percent nerf imo.
once you use the stun you dont get the condition damage until the cooldown is back right? so if you stun someone you dont get condition damage until 1m. if you use it on cooldown you never get condtion damage.
i have an idea.. put a patch taht fixes the mesmer buggs into the gem store..
i would buy it. maybe it would get some people off thier butts.
why do they need to fix buggs when new players do not know they exsist until they buy the game. in a free to play game they are more concerned with getting someone to buy the game then keeping them playing that game. soo….. new content that looks interesting to someone who has not played the game= good. fixing a bug they wont know about until they pay 60$= who cares.
about the stealth… i was just saying that in the middle of a fight you stick to staff 90 percent of the time and only use stealth if you get in trouble. i know the invis trait seems important but you arent using torch skills on cooldown/ you dont have veil of invis and you seem sturdy enough that you need to balance out your ability to kill with your ability to live.
you also never ever shatter and on top of that have dodge roll clones.. not saying you should shatter.. just saying that your clones are dieing anyway and not being shatterd… getting extra conditons out of them may be worth the trade since things dieing faster also = more survivability. every person you kill is less damage you take and you seemed to have chances to take out a lower hp character but didnt have the finishing power.
manipulation traits = 2x defensive traits.
invis = defensive.
staff = defensive
torch = when you usually switch to it is defensive.
just looking for a way you can get the finishes off when you get someone under pressure.. in the wvw fight you got them low but not down.. and even after they go down you still need to stomp under pressure so you need a good amount of added damage from what you have now.
not trying to make fun of you and i did watch the videos. my main point is that the spec isnt actually helping your game play. you seem to be able to use your defensive skills correctly and with a normal spec you would have more then likely won the last fight in wvw… some of those guys were tunnelvisioning and didnt even use thier standard heals.
seeing your playstyle and the fact that you never go out of staff unless you are in danger and want to invis. i think you could benefit by chaning one of your traits to condition on clone death maybe up your damage a little.
alot of your spec seems to be based around running if you start to lose. you arent even using stealth that much but you are preparing to have to.
the issue about becoming a bunker is you make everyone else into a bunker also. most bunker specs end up as a method to stall until help arrives. or people that yell in map
“ha ha ha you cant kill me, stop trying” but they have 0 kills the whole match.
most specs like this usually go for retaliation stacking or some method of killing.. it seems like your main source of damage is staff and your playstyle = if i didnt die then thats kinda a win.

im enjoying 12 button mouse. took a sec to get used to but i think spreading the skills out over 2 hands helps me be alittle quicker.
i would say blurred frenzy is a good skill. but if you are using it as a defensive tool its a waste imo. may as well just dodge roll instead and use your frenzy to kill something.
i understand lvls dont matter in spvp. but not even/ever having a warrior does.

you keep talking about blur frenz being an op defensive tool which it is i guess. but if you are using frenzy as a defensive tool you are not using it as an offensive and it is the only source of damage sword has. i can just picture youur game play since you think the point of sword is to invuln for 2 seconds. you hide behind a rock or wall spam some clones shatter them… hide or run or frenzy and try to stall until you can generate some more clones,,,, hide and run away and hope you dont get targeted. yay your good. you played some crap people get over yourself.
noone said mesemers were as bad as warriors. noone is as bad as a warrior. what were you using to strip boons from a necro 4 at a time? arcane thievery?
are you saying that if you were fighting a mesmer you would have eaten 3 shatters (9clones) and still expect to be considered good?
i think the major thing you are missing is how bad spvp people are. with your sooooo many hours of play i would think you could see that though.
the other thing is.. if you play the worst class in game which you do.. and have for a long time.. not sure why since you are sooooooo educated in mmo pvp. once you get on a functioning class it is easier to play. the basics of the game stay the same but you trade your garbage skills for useless ones.

bunker guardians dont do anything but take up space. you can just ignore them all game and it wouldnt even matter. most likely the necro was a bunker also with staff.
for the most part necros blow cooldowns as they run away throwing staff traps behind them.
so yes i guess mesmers are op compared to people who dont do anything.
for the most part in spvp people put on the most bunker spec they can and hope someoen shows up to save them before they die.

i always debate 20% phant health vs glam% or w/e else.
i usually end up with 20% phant health just because + retaliation = more damge. the only glam i run with is feedback in that spec and while it is good, not sure if it is worth the trait. i usually pvp not pve. ..

made a condition mesmer last night using gsword/staff fury on phantsms for sharper immage (spvp). also condtion on clone death since gsword/staff + dodge roll creats a ton of clones. worked out better then expected.
just have scepter beam apply 2 stacks of confusion per tic to counter the nerf to confusion. so glamour is still screwed by scepter is still functional.
ehh. i just spvp alittle and that is it now.
anet screwed themselves alittle by over nerfing. they made people scared to put effort into end game because thier nerfs are spec ending. gg
i played gw2 because i didnt want to grind. not because i want to have to grind new gear every time anet swings the bat.
do you go into wvw and just see what tab target chooses? or do you scan peoples health bars to focus people down? and click them to target them? if you tab target in a wvw zerg i dont really know how to help you.
click your target. dont roll dice to see what target you get. thats the issue i guess…

you arent even willing to learn the basics of the game. that is something you should do with any profession vs any profession. some people have trouble learning not to click thier skills. but guess what keybindnigs are faster. so suck it up and learn them. same with targeting. if you arent willing to learn dont kitten at mesmers for having more then 1 thing on the field for your tab target to choose.

you should never tab target anyone in any game.. l2p
tab targeting is what you do in lazy pve such as leveling.. and even then you should never do it. you should click target.
heres a hint.. take off auto target also. it is most likely getting you killed when fighting mesmer.
if you do not know who the main mesmer is in every single second of a fight you are a noob and should ask someone how to tell who is the real one.
it is not op it is so easy in so many ways to spot the real mesmer.
do you need help? there is no way to hide inside your clones.
there are graphical differences between a mesmer and his clones. do you know them>?

hows this. get the help. tell us what you are having a prlbem with and we will fix it. instaed of just saying its not fair that i cant win a fight when you are unwilling to learn how to win the fight.
in a good fight… you know all your skills and when to use them.. you know all your opponents skills and when they should use them to counter you.. you get them to use thier skills when they shouldnt. .. you can not do that if you are unwilling to know your opponents skill set.

i mean.. the combos you are talking about are 3 skill combos that all have to land.. what is the limit on that for an example.. im sure if you include enough button presses in your example you can get to 34000.
the thief / warrior comparison is silly since they are usually doing thier high crit/damage in one button. not a 4 skill combo.
the point is.. on a thief you will actually see a high number. on a mesmer you will most likely have to go into your combat log and pull 6 or 7 skills out of the list to compare damage.
i played a staff / gsword confusionless condition spec in spvp all last night. it did really well. for right now im just using confusion as a background condition not the main foucs of the build. (i know 50% of spvp are uplvled 2s who dont know thier professions…. still fun killing them though)
if you are comming here because you dont like being nerfed. this may not be the spot for you. if you just think it looks fun then this is a good spot
i ran spvp all night last night. i can say or a fact its a l2 kitten ue. its not really the clones that are an issue for most people its the blink/retreat/decoy/ stun breakers since they cant every hold you in place. the clones are really just a gimic and should not fool anyone who knows what they are doing. i was fighting mesmers all last night and there is no issue telling who is real and who is not.
the real mesmer sticks out like a sore thumb. if you need any more hints just ask.

ehh., i agree socialism works out well on paper. the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few.
the fact that they can put men on the job to get a bug fixxed in one situation and ignore it in another situation is crap though. are bugs that make you more powerful easier to fix?
what you are telling me is they have the ability to fix any bug quick but they choose not to beause it does not hurt enough people. seems like garbage to me. ive played mmo for 15 years and no other game has had to make such power swings by nerfing and buffing without fixing the basics.
how do you know what balance should be unless you have a functioning product to balance.
mesmers are really good vs people who focus on learning to play thier own class and do not learn to fight their opponent. people who take the time to learn how mesmers work will be on even ground in a fight.
but alot of people dont put much effort into being good. so you can just blow them up as they attack 10hp clones
so its ok if something makes us underpowered as a bug.. but not ok if something makes us over powered as a bug.
even though a bug that makes us underpowered makes everyone else more powerful in comparison.

not sure if you saw this since patch…
from what people say. conditions applied by clones are now effected by condition durration bonus. so thats a big buff for conditions like sharper image and image type stuff. not sure if conditions on clone death were working before patch but they should be longer also.
most of the things normal mesmers talk about you dont need to worry about.
you can shatter if you want but your phantasms are stronger. shatter is more for shattercat type specs. you are most likely missing 20 percent mindwrack for 15 percent phantasm damage.
reflect is if you spec into phantasm with focus offhand. which is a good phantasm spec but not what you are into atm.
you should shatter your phantams for distortion imo when needed. even in a phant spec.
ya. what samstar said also… spvp is better practice then wvw.
you may not feel that effecive because mesmers only really shine right at lvl 80
call target on the real mesmer.. the bullseye will stay on the real guy so you dont even ahve to think who the real one is.
turn off auto target closest enemy. its a noob tool that will get you killed.
if you have on auto target while fighting the mesmer and he stealths you will target a clone and lose the real target.. if you turn that off and he stealths you will not target anything until the real mesmer reappears and you will return to him as your target.
learn what ileap looks like. if you dodge it shatter mesmers are kinda useless.,
learn to notice what spec your enemy is playing. there is no “mesmer” spec. there are differnt kinds. if you dont learn to recognise what kind you are playing you dont know what to do.
do you fight a hammer glass cannon guardian the same as you fight a bunker?
learn what weapons do in your enemies hands. is he using a staff, a greatsword, a focus, a pistol? when he is using those weapons what does he have access to?
turn off npc names. pretty sure only the real mesmer has guild tags.
1 first hit. 1 clone. second 2 clones. third 3
+ condition/cripple on clone death = good condtion application imo.
2 go stealth leave a clone in your place that blocks for 3s and functions as it does now. so its a stealth/stun breaker + its current function
3 same damage … replace confusion with ( on hit remove boon from target and transfer condtion)… maybe something like .. if there is no boon or condtion do 2x damage on the base damage.
isnt it only fury on phantasms. not illusions. maybe i missed something.
i see people saying the izerker is kinda like the warrior now..
Warrior sucks in pvp… so .. that dosent make me feel any better.

skill # 1 clone on every attack. (i dont think it is op since your shatters are on cooldown anyway. if you could shatter clones as fast as you could make them it would be op. but ya cant.
skill# 3 … random condition beam? that starts shooting alot faster and has shorter cooldown.
2 seems fine or ok atlesat. not as broken as the rest.
you think people should be able to stand on a wall untargetable and kill you as you stand below and you have no attack to hit them with?
that is fair to you? temporal curtain is what makes wall fighting fair. people dont even need to go to the edge of a wall to hit the people below making all ranged attacks unable to target. temporal curtain forces them to attack you from a targetable area.
it never pulls anyone off a wall unless they cross the edge themself.
want to pvp .. come pvp. ill help you get there.
ya I would like to see some changes to make this usefull.
with the nerf of confusion change its condition to flame/poison.. w/e something useful
maybe a clone on crit ability on all abilitys so it can really pump them out. mostly for the condition on clone death ability)
the original intent with the weapon seems to be condition +clone production. so revisit that idea.
too bad no classes have stun breaker/stability/their own cc.
bet this guy died to confusion.
