Right, there should never be an onus on the players to improve, refine and find optimal ways and strategies with builds and traits. Nope never, not here, not in GW1, just not at all in games in general.

And before you don’t understand again: I have nothing against the difficulty of the new fractal or the CM and already did it by myself. I’m just stating that it’s a lie that this fractal is a must to bring people into raids. If you could handle the older ones well you were already able to raid successfully.

Imo this Fractal can teach you better to remain focused during the encounter which is also needed in raids. I dont believe swampland got that well enoug imo ofc. Lets say if swamp land could make you ready fr the ez bosses these last 2 can make yo ready for the rest.

Id like a new race maybe undead since palawas are free to do w/e so ic ould see us be able to play as undead. Plus the undead are basically the same design as humans or w/e race but since palawa had human undead i believe keeping it like that would make sense.
So let’s just ditch the dodge system altogether and force players to spam heals like you do in raids? Not cool. I enjoy the action oriented combat, not traditional MMO which stacks on tanks/healers. I’d like to remind that Guild Wars 2 promised to break conventions of older MMOs, it was one of the main selling points and during dungeon times it was upholding that statement. It’s sad to see the game turning into something it wasn’t originally designed for.
Theres a diff between action combat and simply never getting hit by anything because aegis blocks evades and distorts and therefor trivialising the encounter. I long w8ed for mechanics that you can avoid one instance of them by reaction but another one is unavoidable and you need to be prepared to soak it and deal with it . It put meainign in condi cleanse and heals.
Compairing it to raids is the funniest because raids suffer from your meaning of “action combat” more than anything with blocks evades and distorts soaking all the dmg to the point where not bringing a healer makes sense.

We also have some bug fixes incoming that should help alleviate some pain points at the higher tiers as well.
Does that include making the floor fall at 15% or 40%? I know it’s been said that it is supposed to be 40%, but that it a Long time to be dodging the floor with anomalies showing up and having the floor possibly disappear from under them.
Cameron would like for it to stay at 40% as that was the original intent. With some of the other bug fixes it should hopefully be less frustrating, but we will continue to monitor feedback for this.
It should be set up such that anomalies can never spawn in a place where the floors are gone all around it. There should always be at least 1 available floor adjacent to the anomaly to stand on. If this is not the case, please let us know.
Unfortunately this happens. During the 40% phase the chances of an anomaly appearing on part of the platform that disappeared are extremely high.
Another thing i’d like to mention (i dont know if it is mentioned somewhere else), sometimes u get the orb phase without additional mechanics, sometimes u get bombs, greens and anomalies during that phase. Is this intentional?
Bombs greens are time based from what iv seen meaning if dps is too low both can happen during phase your best bet is either get comfortable enough with the phase so you can pull of both during it. Or, slow down on dps before the phase% so green doom spawns and you can deal with it.

The whole kitten game is based on pugging LFG or joining randoms in maps to do events, why the kitten would you break with expectations so abruptly? And then again, the encounters are not hard enough to actually make that claim valid: raids can and I would even say should be pugged by many.
They break up with expectations abruptly because this specific side content or call it niche is not meant for the majority of the playerbase.
It’s design intention was for players wanting the extra challenge. Difficult content that cannot be done pressing 11111 as long as people don’t realize and accept it they are walking the wrong path. 99% of the rest of the game is easy, easy puggable and can be done without effort and organisation. Give the 1% to players who love the challenge, love the team play and love the whole dedication you have to bring to raids.Maybe in 2012. Fractals are now mini-raids.
Ppl wanted lowman stuff and cms are perfect for that if you are refering to those youg ot a point. But t4 is not 5 man raids dont lie to ourselves.
The anomaly is designed from the devs for players that do to much dps so they will get to see all mechaincs so its time based. For groups that dont do this amount of dps stalling on arkk until the animaly spanws then dps arkk to phase him is a tactic groups iv seen use.
The floors are intented to dissapear from 40% but they should tune the aoe indicators and the anomalies so they wont get kittened by dissapearing tiles.
Should arkk be able to attack during orb phase i think so If dps is too low the orb ohase will be time forced. (which i dont get because its set phase thag everyone will go through at 1 time so why not have it fixed at a certain %).
No, anomalies should spawn where theres at least 1 tile for the bomb guy to stand. But idk what happens when tiles dissapear again during the remainder of it.
Orb are proximity based meaning the closest target to ones spawning location will get an orb. I suggest to wp the orb each of you will pick and then move it clockwise to one pillar each. That way when he becomes invul there should be some time before orbs spawn and fixate. But again the phase happening earlier might kitten this one as well.
(If so happens that arkk can still attack while phase os going idk guys what to tell you this should be fixed and either be a set% or arkk force becomes invul whenever the phase happens. The phase timer is enough to get all orbs to their specific location and even have 1 beal with the anomaly while this happens. So long as a team mate doesnt attack orbs before they are in place.)

They could put a check box on trinkets/rings/neck just like they have for helm, backpack, gloves and shoulders. If they were crafty, they could also make infusion effects turn off when you hide the piece with the infusion in it.
If they were extra crafty they could also make winters presence an infusion…
It’s also like, they dont remember the very same mechanic is learned in the first fight /shrug.
As Vinceman said, it does differ from the earlier fight as you are in need of aiming them at something. The spreading AoE does add some pressure into getting them down within a certain amount of time but we eased out of that initial panic after the first few cracks at the fight.
Im just sayin, the mechanics are additive in nature. First you’re show the look away and the orb. Then your show a room with 4 distinct corners to fight in. Then you have an almost identical arena with pylons that almost magically appear when the orbs do in the same distinct corners. It shouldn’t be rocket science to figure out what to do if you apply some very basic problem solving skills.
Sure but there’s a difference between ‘use the mechanic you learned’ and ‘try to use the mechanic you learned and have it not work the way it’s intended’ which is what Maethor seems to be saying. Our group tried it and had the spheres in front of us, hit them, and had them literally end up behind us instead, or had 3 spheres attach to one person and be unable to get them off at all.

Its not the same thing because you dont compete with other for that legendary armor boss clears. Sure the other parson might get there with less trouble but they will both get there.

I agree though, Mesmer does bring plenty of unique things still as well as playing differently. Sure in PvE there’s 1 competitive/niche it has domain over and another situationally useful build but it’s not being completely left out at least. We can do triple portals, have the whole clone meat shield thing going on with shield phantasms, invuln share and one of only 3 classes with realistic boon rip.

In open world i ran gs sword focus and utilties heal signet signet of insp mimic and blink and gravity well. Thanks to chrono this build provides me with good burst for the open world mobs as well as immense mobility.
The OP did not help his own case very much, but it is a very good case. As I see it, he’s not complaining about raid difficulty per se, but rather he is complaining about how hard it is to group up with 10 others who can actually run through the content. This is a very hard issue to tackle and Anet did recognize officially that it was an issue.
Saying it wasn’t meant to be pugged, if Anet did think like this at first, surely was a shot on their own feet: the whole kitten game is based on pugging LFG or joining randoms in maps to do events, why the kitten would you break with expectations so abruptly? And then again, the encounters are not hard enough to actually make that claim valid: raids can and I would even say should be pugged by many, just like CM Fractals. The idea of guilds and static groups is awesome, but chances are that you are playing GW2 and not other MMOs precisely because it didn’t require commitment at specific (and often massive if you think of games like WoW) time intervals; you pick it up, you play it, you leave it. And if you only come back 3 months later, new content should be learned (and it can, even with raids) in few days at most.
So, even if Anet tells everyone to git gud it doesn’t actually tackle the problem, as I still can’t raid without others who gut gud (and really, most of us didn’t even git gud enough to 3-man VG), and it’s not all that easy to find these people, let alone in weeks where I miss the reset. Finally, this should not be turned into its strawman extreme, I’m not saying there are no groups to be had for raiding at any given time, just that their numbers are increasingly low and will become even more diluted as number of raids increase and population leaves/spread out. It is a dying from its inception mode, unlike fractals that now also present interesting challenge, so I can just play CM everyday instead of raiding, lol.
Its not a duying game mode as the developers said they want moving on to have the cm in raids be the real challenge and the nornal mode to be the more casual experience. And you can see that with wings like w4 that are incredibly ez. As new raids release and the line between normal amd cm gets bigger more that problem will reduce.
Any chance we can lower the height of the eye icon which telegraphing the fear attack for Aark? Right now it is so high up in the sky you can’t see it unless you have the camera zoomed all the way out or have the camera angled at a severe angle.
Id much rather to be able to move the boss’ healthbar (or anyones i target) freely. Half the time the attacks are hidden behind that hp bar.
To be fair you know that the orbs follow linked players around and in the third boss you realise rather fast that the pillars are impowering him.
Therefor it should click to you knowing that you need to get rid of the pillars and that these orbs follow you/explode that the 2 mechanics play together in some way.
You dont need to realise it from the first moment. Just realise at some point. After that its all about polishing the execution of it. You know that attacks knock them back and when you do it first and ppl attack randomly the phase will prob fail.
Therefor you look to not spam attacks randomly at them.
Sure its not the same but its a task that requires you a basic knowledge of the mechanic. Much like the 3 eye beams its not the same as a normal eye attack but knowing how the eye attack works is the key on dealing with that attack as well.

I remember going in there with the meta necro build (since i was doing fearless as well) and got them both precision blade and fearless very easily. But this one has been a pain in the kitten i spend like 2 hours with diff builds and actually got past 5 min twice but noachievement.
This kittens me up really bad because i need the achievements in order to progress later on aurora.
They could at least give better rewards for completing lvl100 fractal.
It’s better for me to do lvl40 2 times then to waste 45 minutes on lvl100 and get the same rewards as for the other t4 fractals.
I guess this time effort is not rewarded, so disappointing.I think given time and practice with the mechanics, the clear times on the new one will go down. Remember how long pugs took in Nightmare when it first came out as opposed to now? Or even Man Trin?
Well, to be honest Mai Trin done on completely core classes/statsets would likely be also way more annoying than most players are used to nowadays. Just getting a druid in group significantly decreases that fight’s difficulty.
Well ofc, but im sure that they are balancing dificulty rn nased on elite soecs so pretty much should be the same.
I really doubt that they’re rebalancing the old fractals’ difficulty, unless the fractal itself goes through major rework (like it happened to swamp and snowblind). The specific fractal mentioned (Mai Trin), did not get rebalanced for elite specs.
Well neither snowblind nor swampland got reworked because of elite specs. They god reworked because they the boring ad unengaging without mechanics. And of mechanics bring an up in dificulty.
You dont need to rework entire encounters for elite specs since elite specs didnt bring anything that didnt exist in the game before. They just brought more of it therefor number buffs was what was needed.
Like with solid ocean ofc they wont rework it because i cant handle elite specs they will rework it because the whole fractal is terrible.

Ok so the way im seeing it, multiple players in the ESL scene have multiple accounts. We know the players The Abjured beat players who kind of reported this yet many of those players had 2-3-4 accounts on the top 250 leader board.
Why is it ok for them to accept rewards for multiple accounts yet The Abjured for playing on others peoples accounts?
Anet allows gold for raids/gifts ( people paying Anet real money for gifts so a guild can run people threw raids for the AP, then giving them those gifts) and now all of a sudden this is immoral ?
The PvP wanted serious rewards and claim for being good at PvP in this game. Guess what none of that happened. Bronze and silver players grinded to Legendary season 1-4.
Still no leader board, match making makes little to no sense and the meta is horrible.
Yet we want to punish players for not playing on there main accounts? And the players they beat in the tournaments will continue playing alt accounts and getting rewards from being top 250 in the Leader Board and playing in AT on alt accounts?

I could be wrong, but from how I interpreted it, the problem was the account sharing moreso than selling the wins. I think they were playing on accounts that didn’t belong to them, not on their own alt accounts, and so that’s why they got the permaban. (Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong though. :P)

But from the community side, why is there this disdain when the ESL community have been doing this for years?
On multiple threads people are talking about the PvP scene and the integrity of the game. Yet for the past 3 seasons you have 1 person claiming 5 top 250 prizes.
Heck if i played 100 games and because i work full time and my wife decided to play the other 50-60 games needed for me to make top 250 is that account sharing.
Or how about im on a PvP team and i have to leave for work because these tournament times are different and my wife steps in for me and my team. Is this gonna get me perma banned? And my wifes accounts?

Because winning on a diff acount of yours doesnt matter because its still u and in the na scene ppl know you and your acounts. On the other hand ppl who havent touched pvp and then paying 5hem to play from their acounts just messes up the fun for the rest. Because yiu do not expect them to play like pros. And also they devalued the first monthly i dont think you can really devalue monthlies by having multiple acounts.
Yeah where you can find her coprse where theres also a winged mob to who you talk to and kill for another achievement. After you kill said add a notebook will aprear somewhere around that are go pick it up and return it to the npc. You can also check dulfy’s guide on the notebooks exact position.

Locking acess behind story is a way for anet to lock this content for ppl who dont have the lw unlocked or hot.
Today after some hours of trial and error (and alot of build crafting) i managed to survive for longer than 5 mins in the isntance with the WM. Thing is after i decided to die (or rather get 1 shotted after i exit stealth) i didnt recieve the achievement. Is there a bug or something?
I can go in specifics i played pu mesmer with refects and distorts to sirvive and spammed stealth and kept moving around. After i passed the 5 min mark i stayed alive until 8:49 to see how long will i be able to stay alive.
Now it cant be that i stealth through the enitre achievement because i killed mobs and took dmg (not sure if it was pre 5 tho). And i also know of guildies who did it with perma stealth thief and got the achievement.
If i there a bug can i do soemthing to restore the achievement because i really dont want to be spending any more time in there really.

Hi , i ve just a question about reward from cm100.
I ve do a lot of solo challange fractal ( like mai trin 98 solo with only 1finger ) but this new cm100 , still with 4 really good player , we just can’t do it still after 6 hours in fractal. And these try have litterally drain my energy much than send me sleep….
So , i’ve just ask myself , for a fractal harder than raid itself , which reward we get to end ? 3 ascended box ? 100 gold ? ( i will never retry still for better price than this cause it take insane time, but im curious )
Still im really exp me and my friend about fractal , im pretty sure i will never done cm100 ( and never try again ) but im curious about reward.
The normal 99cm drop as well as chance to get infusions which both sell for more than 1000gold atm iirc. Also its a hard fractal every fractal on release was hard. Ppl can already clear it in less than 30 mins, i think qT even cleared in 20 so i dont get the over reacting. The more ppl that learn the fight the more the clear tie will drop. To the point where it will take as much as it does with nightmare cm.

Neither ep5 took extra time it just took the bigger part of the 3 month period the’ve given us.
Iirc he said “ep 5 will take some extra time releasing closer to the 3 months mark we put for ourselves”.
Every episode pretty much was on schedule with no episode really passing the 3 month cap.
Ep 6 took 2 months and 22 days.

1st its shortbow (supposedly) and 2nd.. ib4 we go through a tunnel or a boat with a loading screen and theres no gate connecting elona with the main maps LUL
Another heads up dont walk in the pads quick after the fire is out the dmging field remains for like .5sec more.
Ep 4 should deff have included livia but as we meet her at the start of ep6 so we dont know yet who she is.
Id also suggest that the braham jormag stuff never happens and instead we get more caudecus/ lazarus with abit of balthazar teasing.
The story didnt need 2 dragons and from magic’s prospective balthazar needed magic and being attuned to fire draining primprdus made sense. Jormag is just shoehorned into all of this.
So EP1 reveal of white mantle/lazarus/primordus.
EP2 more going in depth on primordus learning more about the mursaat aurene hatches.
EP3 we pursuit caudecus on the map above gandaran fields he escapes to janthir lazarus is also assisting us and we get a cutscene at the end of the ep teating on lazarus true identity.
EP4 same tbh just with the disguised livia.
Ep5 same now balth makes more sense.
Ep6 same tbh with livia more connected to the overall story t feels more natural (also great clossure to the mursaat and the wm).
The Student of Bartholos is bugged …the desk that book 2 is suppose to be on is gone and if I click on the book it shows I have 2 but not 3 and if I click on the achievement it shows I have 3 but not 2 …please help i only need one more to finish

How will the the meta feel fresh and change if theres no new elite specs being added? I can understand thing feeling bad rn but we only had 1 row of elite specs.
Even if the new ones are broken on release if in a few weeks later they are toned down to Hot elite specs lvls then that would double the existing build. Adding more amulets to the mix will also make things better.

Waiting for Destiny 2, but i have been busy with school, other than that, me and ferox have been grinding WoW and Overwatch. Too be honest, I dont know if I can let myself get sucked into Guild Wars 2 again.. the disappoint is too much… The amount of time i put into this game.. into PvP… honestly population is pretty low for PvP right now.. Idk man i always find expanc launch to be the height of a game so idk what ti tell you things are miserable rn so i understand you stance but i mean you never know the expac might be pretty nice. I dot tell you to pre order just maybe keep an eye on it.
Just because ppl who dislike harder content complain more that doesnt make them the majority. And by excelled in everything you mean you payed ppl 5-10 gold to do arah for you back in the day? Or Mai trin in under 25 min?
Im sorry if i am rude but no raids are not that hard every pug in this game be it fractals dungeons or raids will over react to a situation and try to min max to no end for encounters that dont need it.
If you dont like this you might as well join guild that do training 1 or 2 times per week like salt, oopsie and so forth.
And may i ask why do you believe that for some reason ppl who want hard content werent there since day 1? The most skilled ppl i k ow are vannila players that had been soloing dungeons for years and low manning them. These ppl asked for more challenging content, its not some kids that cane 3 months before se2 ended and qqed in the forums for the lack of challenging group content.

Lol, like only you have responsibilities. I do my daily fractals with a friend whos has family and 2 kids and only has 2 hours in the evenings to run dailies and raids. How does hi pull it off i wonder.
I myself dont have the time required available and because of that i choose not to dedicate my time soly to raids because there are other things in game i enjoy. If i dont have time to raid i simply dont run them.
I dont go out of my way to ask the devs to change the format and ruin the experience for a part of the community just because i cba to make some time for it take ot slowler and get to smoother and faster kills.
And no im not “elitist” im just telling you that not all content is for everyone and can be completed in the same manners and speed. WHICH. IS. FINE.

Dont bring me arguements of how many gems you spend or if you spend any gems at all because i too buy gems and i too support the game and the devs on the best of my abilities.
I too get to experience releases that are uninterestig to me and borderline annoy me for how unengaging and facroll they are. But you dont see me go out and say “Hey make everything 50% harder and kitten ppl who like it as it is idc i buy gems”.

Unblockables are necessary in current meta. In the past you only have few well timed aegis or single block skills. Now a lot of classes have duration blocks which render perfect timing obsolete.
the elite specializations added so many block/evades/invluns etc.. ofc they needed to give players a way to hit their target. The devs dug themselves a hell hole….
Yeah unfortunately that’s the power creep we’re currently living in. Look back on any MMO and you can find that their PvP suffer the same fate with expansion packs. GW2 may have dodge the bullet on level cap, but no game has been able to satisfy both “selling expansion” and “avoid power creep”.
Back to the topic, you can probably tell they’re resistant to change current meta builds with only few exceptions. Most recent patches are more about buffing unused traits. With the amount of buffs on those core traits lately, I’m actually curious on how the meta will shift if they manage to pull their ass off for removing HoT in pvp.
I’m all going for removing unblockables provided that other layers of power creep (evade/blocks/invul) are removed together. Taking baby steps backward is even more frustrating than taking no steps at all.
Arena net also loses money that way say that they do that and pvp is fine you still have no reason to buy hot andanet loses money from that.
Im all for a more enjoyable pvp experience but this would just cut our a huge part of the expac sales for anet.
And they cant lock something behind the expac without it providing something that existing thing dont (for example stat types).
And they can go the eso w8 where they locked their spvp behind the expac.
How will the the meta feel fresh and change if theres no new elite specs being added? I can understand thing feeling bad rn but we only had 1 row of elite specs.
Even if the new ones are broken on release if in a few weeks later they are toned down to Hot elite specs lvls then that would double the existing build. Adding more amulets to the mix will also make things better.
Btw op im curious to what game you are moving on esp so close to the gw2 expac release.
