so you want to have a chance against multiple players attacking you? 1v3 you want it to even out a little? You know your going to ruin some classes like necro who rely on cc because they can’t chase jack kitten around the map.

It won’t ruin a class at all, all classes are bound by cast times and global cool downs, no class can spam 2 CC’s in under a second, that only happens when you have 2 or more classes using CC at the same time, then the CC stacks and creates stun-locking, having a 1 second immunity after each CC will prevent more then one class from stun-locking you, if anything this will help classes like necro’s, this will help all classes and make for a more enjoyable pvp environment.

acually necros can cast multiple cc effects, they can even do it as a counter. How will this help necros? The only thing this is doing is making bunker builds that much stronger, and giving you a better chance against multiple opponents. I do not see how it makes for a more enjoyable pvp environment, if multiple people are attacking you. You die, its that simple. What you are asking for is putting most 1v1 cc limitations in a group fight.

I love minions, i jumped in a few games after the patch and owned with them. I think the reason they do so well is because they aren’t a “viable” build, meaning nobody on the forums like them, so nobody knows how to counter it and they just freeze up =)

If you want to get rid of minions you have to put some skills on cool down, They are pretty disposable so you don’t have to worry about constantly keeping them alive. That puts them at a disadvantage because by the time you kill them it’s not so hard to outlast someone until you can summon them again, even if you run a power/vit build. they are pretty good in 1v1 because of cc, but way better in team fights.

I use consume conditions not the crappy blood fiend. Guess what? you don’t need staff. dagger and focus are huge lf generators and great for survivability. You can outlast conditions with out needing so much condition removal. This does not need to be tpvp to make it a good build, tpvp is a different ball game. I don’t have 5 guys talking to each other at once. It is good enough to keep you at the top of the list almost every match, Just because your not good at playing it doesn’t mean it’s completely hopeless.

everyone should be jealous of necro downstate. If you run a minion build it takes more than one person to finish you, even if you do not trait for extra damage in downstate the damage output is ridiculous. Minions do not die when you are downed they keep attacking the target + the fear you inflict by the time they go for the second stop they are in a down state themselves. In my opinion it needs to be changed. You can have up to 2 fears in your downstate, one when you get downed and the 2 skill That is more than enough time to kill someone.. The poison well + minions + 1 auto skill at the same time is a killer + you get health regen in downstate from auto 1. BTW this is with out traiting 50% more damage in downstate.

Over the past couple days I have been running an axe/focux and dagger/warhorn build with pure minions. I have to say I thought minions were crap in spvp. After applying quick vulnerability people just drop like flies. With necromatic corruption, bunker gaurdians are a complete joke. They can’t hold more than 2 boons if they are lucky. Not only that they are great for supporting your team. AOE might be there weakness but it is nothing to worry about, you can waist your skills on a minion only to have it summoned again while the skills you just used are still on cool down. I reached 38 kills in one match, and it is not uncommon to get 20+ either. I was completely wrong about minions. Great for support, great for winning.

There is still a problem with absurd survivability for a game based on capture points. I have played all the classes for a while in pvp and when someone can out-heal even a damage glass cannon build, its not balanced by definition. If someone, like an ele or guardian or necro or thief or ranger ect, puts most points into survivability – toughness, vitality, and healing – they should not be able to out-heal damage 1 on 1. If this happens, then Areanet is going to get a game where everyone runs in kitten circles permahealing. There will be no action and the game will get boring because deviations from those builds are just useless. That’s the way serious pvp is going right now. The game will get more and more boring and I’m sure it is getting obvious to people right now. Not being able to cap a point, and many times even dying, because of “bunker” builds who just soak up damage, heal and repeat, is becoming the norm.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. 1v1 yes, 2v1 no. They need a nerf but not to the extent to say nothing can take my damage output.

the only thing I wanna see is a buff to scepters lf gain and a change to. Feast of corruption is a joke it does not even do condition damage. Even with all of the conditions applied from signet of spite it only does like 1k damage. They need to add poison to it or cut its cooldown by 50% and actually make it useful. I don’t think that staff needs a buff though. It our second best main hand besides dagger to generate lf, it does a good job for 1200 range.

No I’ve,noticed that IM no,longer,the,only necro any more.

Our death shroud is average or less than average in most cases. Our summons suck in pvp cause they die too easy.

ds is decent in a power build but only if your lf bar is near max while attacking in ds, great in a bunker build, and meh in other builds mostly used to soak damage. We need another use for life force not just death shroud. Minions and life force go hand in hand. Summon minion lose life force, summon the dead lose life force, summon the dead lose life force, summon the dead lose life force. now you got an army to summon over and over.

btw I noticed it too.

In pvp, wvw, A minion master sux. IF ONLY YOU COULD SUMMON A MINION RIGHT AFTER THEY DIE WITH 0 COOLDOWN with the effect of life force from the necro. . Of course the secondary abilities will still be on cooldown even after you summon them, but this would make them useful in pvp. No elite just regular minions.

I know this idea sounds kitten but someone does not want minions to scale with power or hp, that would make them way too op. This idea actually sounds good in my head lol.

I tried using it but the 30% damage reduction from protection did not help as much as filling my life force bar. it just did not fit my play style. especially when more than one person was attacking me, that was where spectral armor filled the gap. if only the wall gave 2s stability as well. I think that skill is lacking, protection ain’t enough

Utilities
-spectral walk – 48 second cooldown, You get 3% life force regen every time you are hit when this is active for 11 SECONDS (HOLY KITTEN), plus the teleport. Watch your lf bar skyrocket.
-spectral grasp. 24 second cooldown, 1200 range. 10% life force on use. This one is great especially for ranged classes.
-spectral armor – 72 second cooldown(wtf), 8s protection, grants 3% life force when hit while active for 8 seconds(8s and protection kitten . Another lf rocket ship.
ELITE
LICH FORM
Duration 30s. Great for getting life force, and on 1v1 situations. This baby gives u an extra 10k hp, STABILITY,
-deathly claws (Auto attack)- range 1200, lf per hit= The more you use it the more life force you gain. I went from 0 – 70% life force in the 30 seconds of lich form just with this auto attack.
- marked for death – 10s cooldown. Inscribe a mark that makes a foe vulnerable when they trigger it. Lf per use, Lf per use 4% .
-chilling wind – 20s cooldown. Release a freezing wind that chills and pushes back foes. Its an aoe, this one is great.
Great for the interrupt and chills.
-Mark of horror – 25 s cooldown. Inscribe a mark that summons five jagged horrors when a foe triggers it. Lf on use Lf per use 4% .
-Grim spector – 30s cooldown. Send out a claw that explodes on impact, ripping boons off of foes and curing conditions on allies. Lf per use Lf per use 17% (HOLY KITTEN OP).

Lets talk about some methods for regenerating lf
First and foremost use life siphon and heal when they are off of cooldown..
1. Spectral grasp, reapers touch, dagger 1(that’s already 40% lf in 3 seconds), and 2 of those seconds your opponent is down from spectral grasp. This one is very reliable, I use it the most cause of such a low cooldown, by the time you get out of deathshroud just use it again.

-add dagger 3 for immobilize switch to staff and unload- that’s a little over 50% in a matter of seconds.

2. Kite with staff.

3. Spectral armor, combo(mentioned above) ,heal dagger 2 or util(early when you can) ,death shroud, spectral walk, heal, ds, spectral armor. Rinse and repeat. You can 1v2 all day long with this unless its 2 thief’s. And you can last a 1v3 in some situations till your team arrives. .

Don’t forget dagger 2 is on low cool down use it often. Don’t be afraid to use spectral armor or spectral walk, it will fill up your life force bar and by the time you get out of ds, and use some of the methods above spectral walk will be off of cool down so you can use ds again, then spectral armor will be off cool down.

4.Use lich form, being able to sustain this form in a 1v1 will not only give you some good damage, but this form will give u 100% life force.

I have been using this build for a while and found a lot of success in spvp and tpvp, I do not do paids or wvw. I decided to post this build because I like to use it and it makes us look like the attrition class we are supposed to be. Moderate damage but I still get quite a few kills. Average 5-8 in spvp match.

-II Spitefull tailisman – focus skills recharge 20% faster and have 1200 range.

-V reapers precision – 33% chance to gain lf on critical hit.
-X spectral attunement – spectral skills give life force and have longer durations.

Death tree
-II greater marks – marks have an increased range and are unblockable

Soul reaping tree
-IV spectral mastery – spectral skills recharge 20% faster
-X soul marks – marks generate 3% life force when triggered
-XII near to death – death shroud recharges 50% faster.

I did not use II vital persistence because spectral mastery and soul marks grant more life force then 25% longer in ds which does not do crap in 1v2 situations.

Lets talk about weapons.
STAFF
- 3.2 life force per second. 32 seconds to achieve full life force. This is with marks traited for 3% life force. All of its abilities are great especially for kiting.
FOCUS
-Reapers touch – This baby gives you a whopping 17% life force on use. Not only that but it gives you regen. Enemy vulnerability, and its only on a 14 second cooldown with 1200 range when traited.
-Spinal shivers – 1200 range when traited, 16 second cooldown, and chills for 5 ½ seconds. Great for kiting and prolonging enemy cooldowns.

DAGGER
-Dagger 1 Takes only 25 seconds to get full life force with dagger 1. It is the only Ability on dagger 1 that gives lf but it builds quickly. Lf per combo 6%.
-Life siphon – great for survivability, its another heal.
-Dark pact – immobilize, what more do you want?

Life force regen rate to 100%
-Staff 32 seconds
-Dagger + focus 19 seconds.
These are great for getting life force, the trade off with staff and dagger is that dagger your in their face and get more lf, but staff you can kite for a long time.

us necros can counter practically everything single handed. No one complains, why? cause everyone thinks we are underpowered. I am no pro but I am pretty decent at pvp and i can tell u once this easy ro counter stuff gets nerfed, everyone will just find something new. Guess what, not every build you play will decimate everything in your path.

It won’t take 1 day to fix a bug, there are millions of lines of code, if you change 1 thing you have to make sure you don’t have any wrong changes in the process, and god knows how long it takes them to compile the code for testing. They compile and come back the next day. I typed this in a way a 8 year old can understand.

yes I love it. We’re not as bad as ppl make us out to be, but we need some bug fixes and slight buff here or there. people are still complaining about us like we’re still in the state we were in at the beginning of the game.

I usually run with staff and d/focus. corrupt boon, spectral grasp, and spectral armor. elite lich. I mostly use the tactics above but I didn’t think of interrupting earth churn great idea.

life siphon is fine the way it is, gives moderate health and is on low cool down. we don’t need evade for ds, it’s already beast, only downside is its slow and long cool downs. I wouldn’t mind minions on f2, but not attack and follow give us a different mechanic like the other classes.

As a necro I do not have a problem with thieves killing me just fear with ds or staff. The problem is I can’t kill them when I can’t chase after them. They should make our ds 2 instant cast with 1200 range.
