how misleading. ‘Illusions’ implies both clones and phantasms…

so..do clones share some of our toughness?

??? i’m quite confused and do clones get any percentage of our toughness?

anyone ever thought about such a build? i’d like to try it but i wouldn’t know where to begin.

Well, technically, this isn’t true. Your clones do like 1 dmg… Add 15% to that (which probably does happen) and you still get 1 dmg. Bottom line, other than annoyance, this point is close to irrelevant. No offense meant, but I’d rather have Anet focus on big problems vice small ones like this.

nobody thinks the upside to mantras is the fact that they can be used more than once?..consecutively?? and if traited can be used 3 times?

sword clones can rip boons, staff clones apply conditions.

it’d be neat if GS clones and Scepter clones could follow suit.

Indeed. I never use them. Support builds that use the mantra trait to heal others makes the build suffer. Since getting three charges is a Grandmaster Trait, it is a huge trait point investment that has so little reward for the expense, taking points from other things.

except we can use it more than once.

my new build! i love making clones a threat whether you kill them or not.

As long as I know, if you have at least 1 clone out it will always be replaced by another clone. If you have 3 phantasms out, the least recent will get overwritten by your clone.
This might be changed with the last patch, so I can’t guarantee 100%.

have 3 clones out, send them in to shatter, throw phantasm before clones hit the target?

you can’t manage to beat ONE mesmer, so either we’re all overpowered or you’re horribly, woefully underpowered?

this is no definite way to play the mesmer.. that’s where theorycrafting comes into play. guild wars 2 professions are not as tradiontional as everyone thinks.

i like the idea of clones chasing the enemy, they’re supposed to be a threat. RUN!

wow. i was JUST thinking this! i really love the clone/trickery concept behind clones but they’re so transparent. i really don’t want to shatter ALL the time and i don’t use phantasms much at all. i was about to post a thread asking if there are any suggestions to make our clones less….obvious. thus i saw this thread, hence me being here.lol. =))

he might have had the trait that activates distortion on signet use.

the mesmer is the best class i’ve ever played in ANY mmo.

ok, so we all know that the mesmer needs kinks fixed here and there (a host of bugs also) but i created this thread solely for us mesmers (and those of you lurking our forums ) to share stories where you’ve pwned or mindkittencked another player to the point of QQ.
This can involve stories/vids/quotes from you (the offender) or the offended. gather round mesmers and share your experiences.

here’s some quotes i found to be effin HILARIOUS.

“Just hit rank 14 and anytime I see a Mesmer in sPvP, I just avoid them. Their constant vanishing and spawning clones, they seem to have amazing CC, and great damage. Just nay, as a Warrior, nay.”

this was absolutely genius, imo. makes me look at the mes alot differently.

so if you have? 3 clones out and send them in to shatter, you can create other clones that’ll show up even before the old ones shatter?

well…he wasn’t looking for info. he basically said that an ability was OP. what is there to help?

if the scepter wasn’t so weak, i’d try that out. especially since your clones don’t overwrite the phantasms now.

staff is a must have for me…. sword/pistol combo for the other.
