These are really valuable reports. Thanks a lot for sharing them!
I don’t see a red tag on your name.
I’ve got one!!
You should block the account and then make no further attempt to interact with them directly or through a 3rd party (i.e. having a friend send an in-game mail).
If they continue to harass you submit a support ticket with as much detail as you can provide.
I’ve deleted textures that wasn’t needed and file shrink instantly from 40MB to 13MB
Good to know that. Thanks for sharing the tip, Sin.
We have seen some reports from players (and have observed internally) that from time to time, a character will die without any apparent reason. Basically the player will be in a map, not taking damage, and then just fall dead. If you’ve experienced this strange death situation, we’d like to ask you to share details with us. Here’s the info we’d like to have:
We really appreciate you helping us troubleshoot this issue, and we’re working to resolve it as soon as possible!
Here is some information for you about uploading files for the Guild Emblem Contest.
If you are having difficulty submitting a .ZIP file (which seems to arise most often with PSD files) then please consider one of these two alternatives:
If you choose the second listed option, please be sure to include the following details in the e-mail, in addition to the link:
I hope this information helps you. Let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing your entries!
IIRC, there’s some madness with how some attributes are enabled — healing power I believe has always been encoded in a string -_-
I’ve never been happy with the entire .details blob for weapons/armor. It’s structured to mirror the internal representation of the data rather than what you’d expect it to be like. I really want to change it, but haven’t figured out how to do it in a backwards-compatible manner.
Is this the best way to report missing items?
Not really; it’s kind of a nightmare to hand-enter them. I’m working on some fixes to make the process more manageable (e.g., to auto-bless any items in the bank/material storage).
What does this ‘in-game rank permission that grants API access’ mean?
I think it’s a permission in the rank system (like guild vault access) that grants the member access to guild information with the API, not the other way around and definately nothing for public access. At least that’s how I understood it.
That also what I am thinking.
Yeah, that’s what I meant.
But they can… by giving their guild their API keys
It would make sense that members might want to show their gear but not what is on the bank.
I’ve been thinking about this; I think I’m going to add a “builds” permissions that grants access to traits/skillbar/equipment — such that you can get the “equipment” with either the “builds” or “inventory” permissions.
It might be kind of gross like that, but having it enabled by “inventory” allows the “dude-wheres-my-mini.com” use-case for solving “which character has my ascended gs?”
I do feel something for the suggestion made above about a guild member giving the whole guild permission to see (a limited) amount of data from their account.
For the initial release of the guild endpoint, the roster will only have the account name. My idea was to leverage the API key permission bits to allow guild members to select exactly what they want to share (by requiring them to give out an API key).
It might be possible to move that in-game but that’s not my department, so it’ll take quite a bit more time and effort.
Would it be possible to add what crafting professions a particular character has, including the level?
Yes. Also which ones are currently active.
Oof, not really sure why it isn’t returning the updated values. Will look into it — by my reading it should already be using the updated tables
Thanks for the heads up.
I’ve noticed that I get wrong counts with some items. At least minis seem to always get count 1, regardless of how many I have stacked.
I actually haven’t had a chance to look into that one yet (won’t be able to deploy the fix for awhile); my current hypothesis is that the stacked quantity for certain items is encoded … differently.
I’m interested to know if you’ve got any non-mini items doing this. My hunch is that it was just some debris from the patch which moved minis from collections into the wardrobe.
So, Peter, is there any chance we might see an eventual continuation of that hair-raising subplot cliffhanger from Season 1 where the Consortium was very interested in the remains of the Tower of Nightmares (and was pestering quite a few NPCs about it in Kessex Hills)?
Subassessor Prongg is quite a piece of work, isn’t he? I originally envisioned an escort mission where he’d ask passing players to help get him to the tower debris so he could take samples on his own nefarious initiative, but ran out of time to set that up.
Not to mention there’s also Scarlet’s Rattle which has plagued many survivors from Scarlet’s miasma attack and which the Consortium could be just as interested in for all we know…
We haven’t seen any evidence that the Consortium has a weapons division, never mind a bio-weapons division, but who knows?
I do like the recent hints at Consortium leadership in NPC chatter; I could imagine one of them being charr based on that “lucky he didn’t eat you” comment, but who knows. I’ve wondered since the very beginning who the leaders are and why they wish to remain unseen. It’s just as intriguing why at least one of these leaders has decided to come out of the shadows now and go to LA. I look forward to seeing how this plot develops and if we’ll see more of the Consortium (and maybe the legacy of the Tower of Nightmares) in Heart of Thorns or beyond.
Thanks—the establishment of their now very public HQ in LA is the reason for appearances by certain of their leadership. We developed a backstory for their company that we may or may not ever get around to telling… I just thought it would be fun to hint at some of it.
Slight correction: Hero-Tron wasn’t so much freed from the Consortium as “made redundant” at the end of Lost Shores. Hero-Tron is a very rare golem in our game in that it seems to be self-aware, and to have actually developed as a character from the smug corporate functionary that was mocking jobless refugee settlers in Southsun Cove.
Hi,
These are the Guild Wars 2 official forums. We want discussions to be related to our game and have no interest in hosting an off-topic forum. I administered a busy OTF years ago and it was incredibly time-consuming and volatile for me and my team.
We encourage game-related discussions, and sure, those can head into areas that are more real-world than in-game. But a forum strictly dedicated to non-game topics simply isn’t in the cards.

Customer Support has expanded the reasons that they may reach out to a player via e-mail. Here are the current things that may prompt an official e-mail from ArenaNet:
Please keep in mind that e-mails will come from Guild Wars 2 Support. Official in-game mails will always bear the ArenaNet logo, and will not bear the warning that the mail is coming from an unofficial source.

We have no intentions now or in the future to allow playable child characters in Guild Wars 2.
So, is direct interaction with the TP still allowed though? I’d like to manage my transactions and especially add new ones while in university, where I can’t run GW2 on my netbook.
Selling has always required a game client. Buying now requires a game client as well. Neither of those are likely to be exposed via the API any time soon.
Those restrictions could be worked around with a really convincing fake client, but I’m pretty sure that’s against our TOS.
Is there a way to find out if an item is soulbound?
Not yet.
I did find out that most consumables like flamethrowers, or ogre pet whistles, fire elemental powders.. things like these show up as question marks. So they don’t have an icon yet.
It’s because not all items show up on the API — they only appear once some conditions are met (e.g., someone loots it from a drop). Unfortunately, the conditions aren’t all inclusive and don’t pick up karma vendor purchases (among other things). Working on fixing that at some point in the future.
Living World episodes can be played in any order and also replayed, unlike the Personal Story which you can only play in chapter order and may only do so once per character.
Living World Season 2 is like show season available on Netflix. There is a linear order to the story episodes but the user may choose to play any episode they like (or in the case of this bug, the system is pointing you to the last one you unlocked instead of the next one in story order).
I don’t believe this is messaged clearly in the game, so we’ll be looking at ways to better communicate this. Your feedback helps, so thanks for taking the time to report your issues and share your ideas with us.
We made art changes to Personal Story instances, not season 2 open world content.
Art changes… you mean like this snazzy new detailed floor texture in old Lion’s Arch instance for example? Since it didn’t fix itself for the duration of the entire instance I assume it was not caused by some kind of rendering hitch or slowdown.
Edit: looking at the screenshot after the fact, it could probably be a lighting issue, this happened few days ago so hard to say. That said I am absolutely positive the cave didn’t look like this when I completed this instance for myself prior to the story journal coming in the game.
I don’t believe any art changes were made to that story instance, so you’re most likely experiencing a bug. Best bet would be to file a ticket with repro steps so someone could investigate. It would also be helpful to include information about your hardware and what graphics settings you had selected.
Did others in your party experience the same visual anomaly or just you?
Personal story is not working properly for me on two characters. The first issue is part of my Story Journal has been deleted on one character that had completed the entire story and final dungeon. The second involves missing huge chunks of the personal story that should have been available despite the changes. According to the dev’s post, I should not have any issues with continuing the story from “Forging the Pact”, yet I have run into a massive problem that involves skipping more than 80% of Chapter 7 and Chapter 8.
More precise info included within my bug report:
Personal Story – Skipped every mission in OrrI seriously hope this malfunction can be reversed, because I don’t take much pleasure in the thought that my two main characters are permanently bugged because of this.
Thanks for filing a bug. CS will take it from here.
Mesmer magic or a glass eye. Def not an oversight
Nope……
I have a feeling (winks hard) that his eyepatch will return in a couple of weeks, and we will never speak of this again.
You should be good to go now Zerothousand
You should be cleared Mishva.
Thanks,
Ray
Wow, everyone I’m really touched to see a thread like this and I’m really glad to see everyone having so much fun with mesmer since the patch. We’ve all been working on these changes for many months and it’s a really weight off my chest to finally be able to play these changes on live.
I want to clarify though that a lot of the changes you see aren’t my work alone. While I was driving most of the mesmer changes and pushed some of the more… shall we say “extreme” examples coughmimiccough, many other significant changes (like Illusionary Persona becoming baseline) wouldn’t have happened without feedback and suggestions from other folks on the skills team like Roy and Karl as well as our dedicated team of testers.
Praise Lyssa and have fun with the new traits!

You should be unstuck now Drayos. Please let me know if you aren’t.
You should be unstuck now Spiritus.
REALLY sorry for the inconvenience all. We will get this fixed asap.
I’ve cleared a bunch of players. I will continue to watch the forum here for others stuck players.
Thanks,
Ray
Bug Fixes:
World Bosses
Karka Queen: The Armored effect will also decrease condition damage per stack as well as physical damage.
The following world bosses have had their health doubled and can now be critically hit:
Professions
Mesmer
Ranger
Thank you Mr Fries.
I have a question for the Roleplay Lion’s Arch, level Weather:
At what part of the world could comparré the weather? and ocean currents of tyrie are oriented how?
Different parts of Tyria have different climates and the ocean currents presumably vary as well. We haven’t mapped out the ocean current system, so feel free to conceptualize your own take on them and roleplay using those.
There are many captains in and around Lions Arch, which is a bustling port city, but Evon became a captain by buying a ship of his own, in order to qualify for election to (the late) Captain Theo Ashford’s recently-vacated seat on the Captain’s Council.*
*Inspector Ellen Kiel became a viable candidate by assuming the captaincy of an airship that had belonged to the defeated Aetherblades.
Thanks for compiling these in a single place. We’ll be trying to address most, if not all, of these issues as soon as we’re able.
I’ll pass along the suggestion about rainbow dye. I don’t know if it would work, given the way dye is added to armor and items, but the art team would know about functionality and they can determine if it’s something that we would want to add to the game.
We seem to have slipped far away from game-related topics, yet again. I’d like all of us to just stop and think about the wonder and beauty of rainbows — because, really, who doesn’t marvel at a rainbow? There’s no need to see this as a divisive or contentious topic. Rainbows rock!
You should be fixed now KrHome!
You should be cleared now Tisar.
Im free from spvp but im unable to join any spvp matchs as says match in progress
Ray has cleared this for you.
Can confirm that this does not currently allow more than 256 slots in the bank, at least for me.
The bug that caused this is annoyingly in a fairly low-level component, so deploying the proper fix is going to take awhile. I’ve got a potential bandaid fix that I could conceivably deploy today, but it’s got some edge-cases (where the player’s bank is mostly empty) that still return broken data.
I’ll probably push it out, because I doubt that the edge cases are that common.
Just deployed the bandaid fix for this. The API will still return invalid data if:
I expect most players will have quite a bit of stuff in their bank, so the above cases are fairly unlikely, I think.
The full fix should be released whenever the next patch lands.
Thanks for all the info. I’ll be following up with QA and some other people and taking a closer look at this issue.

I am currently having issues with invalid(?) inventory item IDs.
There’s a bunch of ways to acquire items that don’t cause them to be whitelisted properly (e.g., buying them from a vendor). I’m working on fixing these bits up now, but I don’t have an ETA for when they go live
Just 1 question, is wallet data included? I can’t find it…
If that’s not the case, any chance to have those as well soon?
Wallet data is not yet included.
Is it possible to see how equipped items are dyed from the /eqiupment API? If not, can that be added?
It’s not currently possible, but a good idea for an improvement.
Are there any plans to have these things be automated where its just mined from the player’s data automatically and they don’t have to get an API key?
Nope. If you want their data, you’re going to need their permission (in the form of their API key). Once we have the bits to pull full builds (e.g., traits/skillbar) I imagine someone will make a site which lets you easily share what builds you’re running, so they can just copy-paste a URL into TS/Mumble.
However, you should avoid to use the API key via frontend scripting languages (as in JavaScript). Keep in mind that it is basically the OAuth2 access token which is intended to be used between the app`s backend and the gw2 API server.
Eh, it’s not that big of a deal with the current API keys. With OAuth2, the access token was tied to the application so that e.g., an application could be billed or rate-limited. As such, OAuth2 applications need to ensure they never leak the access token to the user because that would allow the user to pretend they’re the application and make requests using that application’s credentials.
Since API keys aren’t tied to applications, there’s no need for an application to prevent the user from getting access to them.
You should be fixed now Xoloitzcuintli.7283.
Fixed! Thank you so much!
Glad to hear it!
I have “Match Ready” window stuck in the center of my screen and can’t get past it… Until this gets fixed, I can’t play GW2
You should be cleared now
Hello! All in this post should be resolved at this time.
Thanks!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zOWZUywrrg&feature=youtu.be
I saw that this was resolved in the other thread. Thanks!
Those in this thread should all be cleared of this issue.
Others that happen across this thread and are experiencing a similar issue, please try to close the client for at least ten minutes. That action should also resolve a stuck match.
Thanks for the quick responses! We’re looking into this for you.
Hello,
We’ve made some changes on our end that should have released you from your endless matches. OP or others can you please let me know if Devs, Janitor, Batman took care of it for you?
Thanks!
