Menadena, Stephane starts the YouTube uploading and rendering process literally the minute the show ends, so the answer is “as soon as is humanly possible” because he’s awesome like that. It’s just that with a long show like that there’s a lot of time where we can’t do anything but wait while YouTube does its thing for hours.
It’s usually not ready for us to put the finishing touches on it until well after our workday ends, so Stephane does that and gets it out the door from home on Saturday mornings.
Donari, that’s exactly it: People with Twitch access who won’t be able to play until tonight or this weekend for whatever reason. My personal suggestion? Do whatever is the most fun for you. Or use dual monitors if you’ve got ‘em. I know that I’m going to be running for my desktop as soon as humanly possible when I get home from work tonight.

- The way that players gather supply at the depot in the center of the map has changed.
- Each supply pile only has a maximum of 2 supply in it at any given time.
- Supply piles will replenish their stores after 15 seconds.
- NOTE: There is a known issue where if player A finishes a channel while player B finishes channeling, it will cancel player B’s channel and not give them supply.
- Stronghold trebuchet changes
- Trebuchets will now do increased damage to Door Breakers and Archers
- Trebuchets shots will now remove up to 25 stacks of stability from any targets they hit prior to knocking them down.

We’re sorry to hear you had a bad experience. You are automatically leveled up to 80, and the level up rewards that appear are just a byproduct of this- you do not actually have to open each chest.

That’s a question that I cannot answer, I’m sorry to say. From what I recall, entry is determined by the folks at the door or the gates — not by the exhibitors. ArenaNet doesn’t have the means to invite people into the venue in advance of the posted hours, but you’re welcome to inquire of the gamescom organizers on what their requirements would be. If you don’t get in that day, stop on by when you get a chance!

You bring back such a wonderful memory, and probably one of the reasons I’m so fond of gamecom. Our first tournament was at gamescom in 2006. I will never forget how European Guild Wars players filled our space. And the space behind it. And the space behind the space behind our space. And how they cheered, and roared, and supported the tournament players. It was glorious!
Here’s to a repeat of that magical moment in 2015, in Cologne! <3

It uses the new streaming client, so you don’t actually need the full download. Only about 5-6 gigs, I believe.

Hi all,
As we were running through our final checks before today’s Desert Borderlands Stress Test we ran into a technical issue that is currently preventing us from starting on time. We are currently working on a fix for this issue, and I will update this thread with more information once it is available.

IIRC, the crash prompt the game gives sends it to Windows. If it does send it to Anet, the odds of getting a reply are as miniscule as getting a reply as a to an ingame bug report.
They are sent to us.
Your existing client should work.
If you find that it isn’t, you can also try switching out the gw2.exe file that is contained in the Guild Wars 2.app content tree for the one provided in the link from the invite.

LavasoftTcpService.dll is associated with Ad-Aware. It appears that their software is trying to manipulate the connection(s) the game client establishes. You may need to disable or uninstall the application to restore game service.

Bug Fixes:
- Adjusted formulas for attribute-granting traits so that they grant more appropriate values when upscaling and downscaling.
Over time, from listening to various comments that Lawton and other devs have made, I believe I have a rough understanding of the general types of servers that ANet employs to run the game. (Of course, I might be wrong, but what I’m going to say should apply in broad strokes).
You’re not far off the mark, though there’s an order of magnitude more servers than the ones you’ve listed.
In any case, the API servers are never going to connect to the map instance servers.
That said, I looked into how the party members blips are updated when they’re on a different map instance — the map instance servers push rough position data (and some other stuff) to the online status tracking server every 30 seconds or so. So the feature isn’t as infeasible as initially ascribed.
We’re investigating the Greatest Fear rewards. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
The error indicates that hmipcore.dll caused the issue. This appears to be a third-party program you have installed that is interfering with the launcher. You may need to uninstall it. The program might be called Hide My IP or My Privacy Tools SecureNet Service.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed bugs in preparation for the Guild Wars 2 Revenant and Stronghold Test Weekend.
- Removed items from the wardrobe view that are not attainable by players.
A fix for this will be going out through the hotfix process. No ETA yet.
Question for sir Colin will the PvE maps be the expansion maps or the orgional tyrian maps.
I’m not Colin… but… there wont’ be expansion maps in this test, you will be able to venture out in the existing maps anywhere you can currently go with your characters. =)

It’ll be exotic gear that allows you to select the stats you want to use. You will be given multiple sets so you can try out a few different builds. Also, you will also have an assortment of runes, sigils, food, and utility buffs to customize with as well.

I am just wondering if the revenants made will be instant level 80s or will we have to level them up. I can see a point in letting them level to test any problems with that, but that will make WvW or any high end PvE content unplayable unless we use consumables to level them. I’d rather not do that as I am saving the consumables for when HoT goes live.
They are instant level 80, fully geared, with an inventory full of other gear options you can swap in and play with.
I just started a new toon and darned if when she got to L40 PS and headed to LA that it was the old LA that Destiny’s Edge is currently arguing in. I’m not a designer/programmer. But how hard would that have been to add into your big LA roll out.
All Personal Story steps that take place in LA should reflect the old version of the city once you enter the story instance. Is that not happening?

Since this will be a test in the live-game world including WvW/PvP..
Will we be gaining currency and things for our live account? or will these still be ENTIRELY walled off characters?
You’ll have a beta character slot you can use to create a Revenant. When playing with a beta character: all progress, items, etc. you get will not be saved once the event is completed.
You can however use your existing characters to play Stronghold, and will continue to earn rewards/progress that is permanent on your account.

We had a brief (about 45 minute) issue with the billing company, but that should be resolved now and all those who completed a transaction will have received their gems.
