Hey all!
We are aware of an issue that can cause some players to become ‘stuck’ in PvP matches.
Generally this means after a match completes you can’t leave the match and/or return to the lobby.
If this happens to you, please post to this thread and we will ‘unstick’ you (and all of the other players in the match).
If you have friends who are stuck and you want to let us know they are stuck, please post their display name including the trailing numbers ( e.g. ‘Ray Patrick.7843’).
Thanks!

Yep, posted 13 days ago. And there have been no staff replies in that thread for 18 days so I figured I’d try my luck here.
The account looks compromised. I’d suggest she create a new ticket so that we can help secure the account.
Yeah, a small bubble over the button would be pretty straightforward. I still need to hide them when there’s no flash :|
I would guess that there’s some FC guild members on SF. It’s pretty common, especially when guilds transfer servers.
I am not a lawyer, but the terms of the asset kit seem pretty clear. You could try contacting the community team via email for a potentially more official answer.
If you get a crash report window along with it, please attach the crash text shown after clicking on the “show details” button.
Please post the “load of coding” (crash text) as an attachment.
Most of these types of problems come from some piece of software that attempts to inject data into requests the launcher is making.

Unblocked and the policy is being corrected as a write this. Many apologies. =D
The Mad King pops in with this pun for the thread:
A Monumental announcement is approaching “soon”
There is a infamous “soon” again…….but thanks for update.
Since “Mad King” made a joke about it…..I’m guessing Halloween? or is this some cruel, sick joke? (The Mad King does have a nasty sense of humor you know.)
Well my infamous “soon” is pretty good
Mad King joke because I was talking to a coworker that is really good with puns, and we were talking about the Mad King… put them together and this update came with a pun.
Will there be a period of free or very low cost transfers to allow for a slight rebalance of population etc?
Will there be any free transfers, for example to the bottom 3 servers?
There is no plan to change the price per population tier at the moment. We’ll be looking closely at how players are moving/joining World, however. The goal is a better balance, but not a too sudden disruption either.

Lauren, when you do finally reopen HoM, I feel that it would go a LONG WAY in the eyes of your more than patient GW1 and GW2 patrons to receive an In-game Email of Apology and Announcement that the HoM is once again open for business. Not everybody comes to these forums daily to check on this (or any other) outstanding issues.
Side thought: You might do well to just send such an email to every player period upon login. It may give us renewed faith in your commitment to communicate with the community on important issues, and perhaps people will reconsider buying GW1 and grinding some monument points (not to mention reconsider buying HoT
).
GL!
I don’t decide these kinds of things, but there is an ingame mail associated with the fix! It’s a great email too… I think all of the people with legitimate HOM achievements will really like it.
As a side note, I am sorry you guys had to wait so long. This isn’t a fix where you can bring someone in from outside of the company to fix or put multiple people on it to get it done faster.

Fellow Warriors of the Mists,
World population is visible on the labels on the World Selection and Transfer screen. It determines whether you can transfer to a world and, if you can, how much the transfer will cost. These measures historically have been set based on aggregate population levels around all game modes. But because World versus World is the only game mode to which worlds apply these days, we have developed a better model that exclusively uses WvW data to determine population levels and transfer costs.
We will be rolling out the new model soon and some shifts in the population levels should be expected. We’ll continue to monitor the situation, and we’ll make all adjustments we deem necessary to improve the WvW experience. As always, your feedback is very welcome.
See you in the Mists,
— Samuel

So, I started looking into this via a PM from the OP this morning (8am PST). I found their account was terminated errantly and then noticed more people with this issue. It’s gonna take a few to right this but I’m on it.
*Edit: Not the OP that PM’d me. A 3rd case. #whoops

My situation is like yours but a bit worse. It didn’t help that I messed up at first:
Current Ticket #: 1664808
On Saturday July 18th, I pre-purchased the expansion. Unfortunately, in my excitement I registered a new account. When I realized my mistake, I contacted support.(ticket# 1655531). On Sunday, July 19th, GM Josh responded and per my request, and cancelled my order.
I then attempted to re-purchase the expansion via the in game client. After three failed attempts, I gave up and purchased the expansion through the Guild Wars 2 website. I purchased the $100 package successfully. I logged into the game, played for a bit and used my new gems to purchase a few items. On Monday, July 20th, I came home from work to find my account as suspend. I submitted a request for support (# 1660274). GM Maynard responded that he was transferring me to the Payments Department. When asked, GM Maynard would not explain why my account was suspended.
GM Ironborne, whom I assume is from the Payments Department, responded they needed more information. They asked for details I had already provided (which I submitted again). When pressed, GM Ironborne also would not explain why my account was suspended.
On Wednesday, with still no resolution, I sent another message, demanding an explanation.
On Thursday (July 23rd) GM Archersbane responded with the following:
“After manually reviewing your purchase attempts, I see that our payment processor found they are displaying characteristics that are commonly found to be associated with high risk transactions. For that reason, your purchase attempts have been determined to be high risk by our payment processor and you will be unable to complete your purchase at this time. The only suggestions we may offer at this time is for you to attempt your purchase at a later date or to locate another authorized retailer who has the game available for purchase. You may view a list of our authorized retailers at: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/retailers.”
I checked my C.C. statement and the purchase of the expansion was refunded (both of them). However, I am still locked out of my account (It’s listed as suspended still) and I do not know if/how I can pre-purchase the expansion?!
I got the automated response to my latest ticket and then I got another response that my case was being forwarded…. to the purchase department sigh. I have no idea if/when they will unfreeze my account. After reading some messages on these boards I’m less hopeful. I understand why they don’t have a call center but I really wish they would provide better service in situations like these. I’ll update if I’m able to get my account back. If I do, I plan on using a different credit card, lol.
I’m looking at this right now. I think I found an oops; must fix! Hang tight.
What I wouldn’t give to have that ‘Monumental’ news include that not only have they brought back HoM, the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title now carries forth into your GW2 account as GWAMM has…
Sadly no, but that title does sound awesome.
I can suggest it but the development team’s priority is finishing HOT right now.
Lets all keep in mind that even if they are indeed ready with the fix soon, things can turn up that will require them to push it back. That is just how the real world works.
Furiously knocking on wood here…

Okay, so I think the approach that we’re gonna take for the missing items is — whenever an item is returned from /v2/account/bank or /v2/characters, it’ll be added to the items whitelist. I think this is a fairly safe approach — if you’ve got it in your inventory then there’s no benefit to hiding it (since … you already have access to it).
This change won’t go live until the patch after next, unfortunately, so you’ll just have to bear with us until then
So Roy, my Rev build that I have in mind is a little costly in energy. Mind sharing that command? I could use a little “energy buff” if ya know what I mean. :P But in all seriousness, I’m so pumped for the next chance to test some of my build ideas for rev and see what I can make work. Also thanks for listening to the community’s suggestions on revenant. One of the best things I read in the changes was the cast time reductions on some of the skills, I actually fangirled a little bit over these changes (and I’m a guy so that’s some serious stuff lol)
Sorry it’s only for internal testing
.
Glad you are excited. I’m just as excited to get on with all of you and try it out the changes on live, see how it feels, and what adjustments to make for the next iteration.
=(
Hopefully perception will be a bit different next iteration.
Don’t be sad, we know you’re putting effort into this.
I can totally see DPS Revenant being a thing, even if theoretical dps is still way lower then Warrior/Guardian/Elementalist.
The problem is that Revenant is not going to have much more survivability. It’s going to be kill before getting killed.
Tank Revenant won’t be possible if things don’t change.
Good thing that things can change.
I know those feels. I’ve been wanting a rev on live for a while.
I do have and enjoy playing all professions though.
Feedback on the Revenant should be posted in the Revenant forum. Feedback on Stronghold should be posted in the PvP forum. I have seen red posts in threads posted in the appropriate forum so it appears they are following the feedback.
Absolutely true. The team is reading all the feedback, so everyone should feel free to post in the Revenant and Stronghold forums!
Bummer. The tickets to Gamescom are all sold out
Dang it! Last I checked, Thursday and Sunday were available.
It seems according to DBZVelena (and from what I also heard) there may be some access if you’re willing to chance it, but that certainly wouldn’t be prudent if you needed to travel to the city, not knowing if you could get into the show. Is Saturn in a network, or might individual stores still have tickets?
lol, when you are so much waiting for dutch stroopwafels, which are nothing else but 2 thin waffles pressed together with caramel syrup in between, then you should eat here in Germany a real hot waffle (belgium/brussel style) with warm cherries, whipped cream and powdered sugar. Alot more delicious than those cold tooth terrors, that are stroopwafels ^^
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waffle
But if you really want to eat something delicious that comes originally from Germany/Austria, I advise you too eat some Apfelstrudel (Apple Strudel) with Bourbon Vanilla Sauce, you will never want to stop eating it anymore, I guarantee you hehe ^^
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_strudelSo much for culinary derail talk here lol.
Can’t wait… still 19 days to Gamescom
I have been to Germany many times. In fact, I was there just two months ago on vacation. And I cannot recall Apfelstudel with Bourbon Vanilla Sauce. That sounds simply marvelous. Thank you for sharing that information.
ahem
Back on topic: Yes, the countdown continues — I’ll be traveling in just 12 days! ~ happy dance, preferably to Brahms or Beethoven ~
Hi Ajlovju,
Items have a way of returning to the Gem Store on an occasional basis. The store doesn’t have a set rotation of items, although in some cases it would be sensible to predict the return of, say, Halloween-related items sometime in the fall.
In the case of Rox’s items, these are non-seasonal items so I’d simply keep my eyes on the store because it does seem likely that these two items will be featured again in the future.
so i wait for another crash and grab it?
Looking at your posts again: the crashes you are encountering currently are Out of Memory issues. This can happen for a variety of reasons, but generally it’s because memory have become fragmented enough that the game cannot find a segment large enough for the requested space.
Generally large fights can cause a lot of fragmentation as there is lots of information that is going in and out of existence quickly. If you know you are about to head into a large fight, such as a World Boss, you may want to consider restarting the client to refresh the memory footprint. Some players have found relief from this by lowering their graphics settings to lighten the load on their machines.
The totes helps. Dumping the graphics settings to lowest periodically seems to do the trick. I have this same issue. If memory use gets up around the 3gb mark, watch out. If it spikes to 3.5gb, it’s go bye bye – game will crash.
Personally, I have process explorer running on a second monitor and keep an eye on it, and flicking the settings to low and then back up seems to ‘clear it out’ so to speak – it fluctuates between 2.5-3gb. That’s seems the sweet spot. Textures and number of people view distance (i forget the exact name in the drop down) are the culprits.
I have encountered this issue on other MMO’s although they don’t usually crash. As a complete techno boob I find it odd to set a game up this way – if it uses up too much memory the whole game crashes. They clearly know it will do this. How can it be fixed? I don’t know – as I mentioned, I’m a techo boob.
How do other games get around this? It’s probably false logic I know, but lots of other games thrash our systems six ways from Sunday and don’t crash, so why is gw2 set up like this? Or perhaps another question is why do some people never seem to encounter this? What’s their trick – I’d love to know.
We’re trying to clear up a lot of these issues, but it takes time and many iterations to find the sweet spots for these kinds of optimizations. Fragmentation is inevitable while running any application that does allocations after initial start up. However, the degree and severity of this depends entirely on the circumstances and specifics of the application.
In general games often use custom-built memory managers and will have built-in limits for each type of resource. When the memory manager starts to run out of space, it may choose to crash, or to move data around to make more room, or automatically remove some older item that hasn’t been updated/used for some period of time. There are lots of schemes surrounding how this can be done and there are trade-offs to each of these choices.
In our case lowering one’s graphics settings reduces the space requirements for many different parts of the game, which makes it easier to find space for new models that come into view.
I tried it, seems to be working properly. If this is something you are continually seeing please submit screenshots of the issue occurring so we can better determine what is going on.

… To someone who’s knowledgeable with the Guild Wars 2 wiki …
If you target ease-of-use for someone unfamiliar with wiki editing, feedback UI should look more natural. E.g. like a text entry box at the bottom of the page, just like a reply on the forum pages.
As they say, perfect is the enemy of good. In other words, we’re trying here to make progress one step at a time, rather than spend a lot of time implementing the best solution we can come up with. Please keep sharing ideas if you have them, as this project is still in its infancy and it could use everyone’s help.
I put together a fix for a pretty nasty performance issue on our game servers. This should make it into our next release so I’d be curious to see if it makes a noticeable improvement. The bug looks like it was introduced around when this thread popped up.
I also got a couple client improvements that should help reduce framerate hitching with lower-mid range video cards and/or higher shader settings. Coming next release, too.

self-applied conditions will be changed to no longer use your condition duration so they feel less punishing
What about our condition damage? Does it still apply to self-inflicted damaging conditions (torment in this case)?
P.S. Can necro corruptions get this fix?
Unfortunately, right now we only can do this for non-damaging conditions. Ideally we’d allow damaging conditions to use your condition damage still(otherwise damage would be so low it’d be essentially no penalty), but not duration.
Yes, necro corruptions can for the non damaging ones, like Revenant.
What about stack transfering? As of beta, didn’t only 1 stack from you get transfered to your target while in Mallyx elite form? Is this going to be changed to transfer the entire stack over?
It’s doesn’t transfer, just copy each condition type on you. It’s designed to just copy over one stack of each condition type on your character with each pulse. With the lowered pulse time change, this means you’ll be able to stack up conditions copied especially when you have some condition duration.
The sigil type CDs are universal for sigils of that type. That means you can only trigger Sigil of Battle, for instance, once every 9 seconds regardless of whether that comes from a legend swap or a weapon swap.
This.
just found this… hilarious.
=(
Hopefully perception will be a bit different next iteration.
I’ve hit some of these compiled issues (like the 150 pet stats, some offhand range items and some pet traits not working while downed) and those should be getting addressed soon-ish.
We are working heavily on HoT and trying to get to these issues whenever time allows.
Now that the Revenant has weapon swapping, will weapon swap sigils still trigger on Legend swapping? Sorry if this has already been asked.
On swap sigils will trigger both from weapon swap and invoking a legend for the next iteration you all get to play. It’ll be a thing we have to see how it plays out and address whether it stays or goes away after the feedback we get.

Seems a little pointless and counter-intuitive to the nature of a wiki you can add to yourself. Can the article discussion pages not fulfil a feedback role?
You’re both right and wrong here, it all depends on context. To someone who’s knowledgeable with the Guild Wars 2 wiki and its community/procedures/policies, it looks like an obvious thing to do (and technically this tool is little more than posting in the article’s talkpage). Yet no one apart from the active editors is doing that.
To everyone else, it is different though. Over the past few years, I’ve discussed with various people (both part of the wiki community and outside of it) the possible reasons why more people aren’t editing the wiki. There’s definitely a big chunk of players who are not interested in doing that, and that’s perfectly fine.
But I’ve discovered that there’s a group of players in-between these and the editors. They’re either lapsed editors, who stopped editing for various reasons (issues with other editors and with policies, loss of interest, etc.), or players who are willing to help but afraid to do so (could be because of the technical bits, or being afraid to do something wrong).
So this idea (and credit to Rubi for having it!) is a slightly different way to add information to the wiki by simply “dumping” the information onto it and let the active editors take care of the rest. We’re hoping that it’s going to help both those who want to contribute and the active editors, and even hopeful that it will make the former become the later
Thanks to everyone who expressed interest in this project and for being an extended part of the Guild Wars 2 wiki! A big thanks too to the active editors, without whom this wiki would not be what it is today, serving the greater good
I’m not tech support, but you really should contact Customer Support for help on this. This is what might help, if it doesn’t please contact CS:
Do you have sweet FX installed? If so, remove it COMPLETLY and try again
If you don’t:
- Try deleting your AppData folder for Guild Wars 2
- You can find it by typing appdata into the location bar
- Remove the Guild Wars 2 Folder
- Run Guild Wars 2
Did that work?
If no:
- Delete the bin (and any other folders you have) in your Guild Wars 2 install
- Run gw2.exe
1) You have an “extensive” history of purchasing gold from RMT
2) RMT will “harass” you with gold if you pay them
3) Yes, we are and have been sending out notifications of account action in regards to Botting / Hacking / RMT Purchases for months.
4) I would suggest not doing any more RMT transactions if you value your account
Merging four threads into one. So repeats by the same person don’t (necessarily) indicate forgetfulness, or extra zeal, or spamming.
I really encourage y’all to turn into Points of Interest on Friday on our Twitch channel. They’ll be showing the warhorn and skills and all that good stuff, and then you can better get a view of how it works as the Elementalist’s elite specialization.
Yeah… lets talk about display names. I had mine fixed via ticket before I quit the game shortly after launch. I’ve since come back and become addicted once more, but i’m not even bothering with my display name again because it reverted to my old key again (not my gw2 cdkey dont worry). My guildies have begun lovingly referring to me as “cdkey” or “serialguy”
It’s strange that it reverted, and I’m sorry for that inconvenience. The CS Team really would be happy to help you out, so if you ever get tired of being Mr./Ms. Random Letters and Numbers, do let them know.

Hello everyone,
I’d like to announce here a new feature that the community of the Guild Wars 2 wiki implemented. If you look at the tabs above any article on the wiki, you’ll now find a new one: Leave article feedback (see picture enclosed). If you browse an article of the wiki and realize that it has a piece of information missing, you can click this tab, fill in the text box with the information and just click the “Save page” button. This will leave a message that wiki editors can check and then add the information wherever is appropriate (they’ll also take care of formatting it and adding any relevant links).
We’re experimenting with this feature, so please leave feedback about it in this thread. Although there’s a vibrant community of wiki editors, they could always use a hand and we’ve noticed in the past some players saying they were afraid of trying to edit the wiki, or simply not knowledgeable enough. So we’re hoping that it’ll give Guild Wars 2 players more opportunities to interact with the wiki and, possibly, become an editor!
If you’d like to share the information on this thread, please feel free to do so too! Post a link to the article and the information that’s missing, and one of the editors of the wiki will hopefully add it.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Was there a renowned quest in particular that you saw this on?
Pretty nifty bug. Sent it over to the skill guys. Thanks for reporting this!
We’ve had multiple reports of this issue. Can’t give you a timeline but we’re aware of the issue. Thanks for reporting this.
I have to admit, there are times where the system doesn’t do what it should do, and it would be good to have the option.
Hello,
I wanted to follow up with you, specifically, because you did submit a ticket about this Display Name situation, and the CS Team very much wants to help you. They wrote you on July 11th. Could you please find their e-mail and respond? They’ll be happy to make a change for you.
Others who have a numeric Display Name like this one also should reach out to CS for help.
I use API:1/wvw/matches — “wvw_match_id”: “2-2”
The last number I take as being the Rank/Tier the world is in.
Match IDs are formatted as “%d-%d” % (datacenter, virtual shard id). I’m under the impression that the virtual shard id just happens to match up with the tier — an unexpected feature — because of how the matchmaking bits work.
[Suggestion]
It would be nice if match details would also give the account-name of the person who claimed an objective. (if that information is available).
AFAIK that’s not tracked by the map servers — so getting it routed through to the API is a pretty big task. We can look into it in the future, but it’s definitely not going to be available for the initial release of /v2/wvw/objectives.
