Let’s be logical: Two people can provide all the same points of data. Talking to a guild as some sort of “verification process” wouldn’t help at all, because guild members would have no way of knowing if they’ve been told the truth. And, they do not have access the back-end game logs that we can review. When even the logs do not conclusively prove ownership, the logical and only viable decision must be made: Close the account.
Some may disagree with this decision and they are entitled to their opinions. But in the end, we must act responsibly in these fortunately-rare cases, and we’ll continue to do so in the future.
Perhaps the most reasonable comment to make, beyond those, is that most of these cases are preventable with proper personal security and through adopting the decision to never share an account (for most account disputes are between people who know one another).

Are there still Mystic Forge Recipes/items that havent been discovered yet that are not recipe sheets for food feasts/pots/trays or recipe sheets for satchels/boxes of armor?
Does Zommoros still have some secrets up his djinny sleeve?
Yes.
Is it Mounts?
It’s the Christmas present you always wanted, but never received.
While we regret this situation, we’re sorry that we cannot remove the debuff. It’s unfortunate, but that is the case at the present time.
I think comments beyond that simple explanation are unnecessary. So let’s consider this “asked and answered.” Thank you.

I’m not sure exactly what you’re seeing… Everything works correctly for me when I play through. You enter the story instance, and your objective changes to “Speak with Steward Gixx.” You talk to him and a cinematic intro for the DP plays. Then your objective changes to “Speak with Magister Sieran.” You walk over to her, and a dialogue cutscene plays, then your objective changes to “Meet Sieran at Molent Summit.” and the “exit” button will appear on the minimap, since you’re done with that story instance. The only thing I can think of is that when you speak to Gixx, you’re closing his conversation box and not actually progressing through the dialogue, so the cinematic will never play and the story won’t progress.

Yes.
My only real concern with the current economy is that I think the following is a huge flaw, and I would like to see your opinion about it.
The Watchwork Mining Pick, an infinite use mining tool, gives a clear advantage over other infinite mining picks. Big enough, in it’s current shape, that the ‘’Return on Investment’’ is drastically shorter than any other (I don’t really like to use that term and I’ll explain in a bit). The other issue I have is that because watchwork sprockets are a wanted item it will maintain a certain value that I believe will hold for a considerate amount of time. Now this is a good thing, that items are desirable, but I don’t feel like the mining pick should come into this equation.
The reason why I don’t like to use return on investment for an infinite mining pick is because in the original design it was a convenience item. Therefor the return would be irrelevant. However, with the Watchwork Mining Pick it doesn’t feel like this to me.
Can you perhaps share your vision regarding this item?
I’m sorry, I don’t have an answer I can share about this one.
Good news, everyone!
With the release of Feature Pack 2 on September 9th, players who had earned the WvW Season 1 Meta achievement and had not yet received their Season 1 rewards will be able to speak to the Battle Historian in any World vs. World map to collect what is owed to them.
Apologies for the delay, and many thanks for your patience. <3
Cheers!
I’m a bit confused. What’s your current objective? If it’s “Travel the Priory archive” then you need to go to the green story star, which will prompt you to enter the next instance for your story. Reading the mail from the DP is what makes that objective active, so if that’s your objective, you’ve already received/read the mail (and why you’re not getting another letter.)
In the case of malicious attacks causing disconnects, we should ideally be able to forgive dishonor. We currently do not support this, but it is something we’ll look into adding for the future.
I just experimented and the authentication e-mail link doesn’t last a long while. I imagine that’s for security reasons. I agree that mobile authentication may be the way to go for you, if you’re able to do it. Find more info in our Knowledge Base by searching “authentiation.”
Creatures gain an exploration XP bonus when they have not been killed recently. Try killing yellow creatures you find on the less traveled areas of the map; they don’t get killed very often.

A fix is currently being prepared for this issue.
While the behavior (design) of this event was acceptable in the past, changes in the game over time have created an environment around this event that has become increasingly toxic (for the community) due to unintended use/change of mechanics.
Players should not feel that they are in the wrong for completing an event (or event chain), and that is what is happening with this event. The respawn timer for this event will be significantly increased.
I have a question. A long time ago back towards launch I purchased a commander tag for one of my toons. Since then I have deleted the toon that had the commander tag, it was painful to see that gold wasted, and recreated the toon. So my question is, hope an anet dev can answer this, will I need to buy another tag before sept 9th or will the system be able to see that I have purchased one before. Either way is fine, I’d just rather not waste another 100g.
At least one of your current characters needs to have consumed the commander book in order to unlock the account-wide feature. So unfortunately, because you deleted the character who had the tag, you will have to re-buy the book.
Inb4 this was a calculated ‘leak’ so they can then ‘generously’ change the decision to show how ‘in touch’ they are with WvW players.
Say what
I’m just going to squash this rumor right now. Before the strong negative feedback received after the interview at gamescom, every intention was for each color to cost 300g. Pending QA, that version was ready to ship for the feature pack.
When the flood of feedback came in, there was a flurry of emails working out the best course of action, and in the end Zach and Tyler worked the weekend to make sure this change could be made on time for 9/9.
Hi, Mark. If you or another employee have a moment, can the exact cost of the Commander’s Compendium following the 9-9 feature pack release please be clarified?
As it is now it costs 100g plus 250 Badges of Honor to purchase the Commander’s Compendium.
I know most people drop the BoH cost due their relatively easy acquisition, but all recent discussion of the increase in cost to 300g (triple current gold cost) has not included whether the BoH side of the cost is also tripled.
Q.
Is the additional Badges of Honor cost also tripled from 250 to 750, just as the gold cost is tripled from 100 to 300?I would appreciate a clarification on the change in total cost to the Commander’s Compendium following the release of the feature pack.
As always, thank you for everything you and your colleagues do.
The badge cost will remain the same at 250.

I’ve made some clarifications in my last post. Sept 13/14th is the first qualifier for Tournament of Glory, which follows the same exact format as Tournament of Legends. The top eight teams from ToG participate in the Invitational.
Edit: As mentioned in the OP, I’m working on an FAQ for the World Tournament Series. The conversations we’re having here are helping me write it.

Ok, here’s what I learned. The account that your friend is asking to access was determined to be under irreparable account dispute. What that means is that two or more people have sufficient information about the account to such a point that we are unable to determine the true account owner.
That is a rare case; we almost always are able to determine the actual owner of the account. But when this does occur, we must close the account, and that is precisely what happened here.
Your friend received the best service that we were able to offer, but in the end and with regret, due to the extremely compromised nature of the account it was not possible to give him what he requested and he received our final response on that matter today. (As a result, the English-language ticket was closed as a duplicate, since it covers the same subject.)

As forum members expressed in this thread, we feel that a player mapping multiple actions to one key — for example mapping an attack and a self-heal type skill to a single keystroke — would have an advantage over a person playing the game as designed, with one keystroke per action.
Our policy is that we cannot approve such uses, but I can say that from what I’m reading, what you have described does not appear to be a matter of concern because you are not “cutting corners” by trying to get a series of actions on a single key.
I hope that is helpful information.
Has anyone ever given you an award for good communication, ie, giving straight answers or, if you don’t have a straight answer, admitting it and explaining why?
No
and while I’m here answering questions often, tact clearly isn’t my strongest skillset, so I’ll need to continue developing that before any awards are in order.
Well it’s about time we fixed that.
I heartily endorse this post.
Another serious question:
Do you have different measures of money supply that you track? For example, M1 = all gold in player wallets, M2 = all gold in player wallets + all gold tied up in TP bids, M3 = all gold in player wallets + all gold tied up in TP bids + gold held in the gem exchange?
Also, do you track the value of tradable assets held in player accounts?
Yes, and it is pretty close to what you’re saying, but the manner in which I track is a bit different since we have to apply some weights. For example, accounts that have achieved X or haven’t played in Y time to kitten raw wealth or realistic liquid wealth.

I will treasure this.
I guess the working man will have to miss out on a tournament again. thanks!
Why does the working man need to miss out on this? You only need to play in one qualifier, which always take place on the weekend. Just curious!
Hey all,
Thanks for the comments. These events are a community endeavor, and I will always try to make changes that will make these tournaments a better experience for everyone. I understand where a lot of you are coming from in terms of sign-up timing, especially for those of you that haven’t had an opportunity to see how their profession would change in the coming weeks with the balance patch.
Because of the World Tournament Series event in Beijing, and everything that goes into making that a reality, we’re running on a very tight schedule. The first weekend of Tournament of Glory is scheduled for just after the feature pack – September 13th and 14th. ToG ends in October, and the top eight teams from that enter the World Tournament Series Invitational. Starting any later than Sept 13th begins to put our event at risk, as we’re already pushing the comfort zone.
I’m willing to entertain ideas/suggestions for the sign-ups and timing, but we can’t delay the first qualifier.

Your friend’s ticket is just a few hours old and it is premature to ask for assistance beyond what is expressed in the ticket.
Please allow the team time to resolve this issue. If he still needs help after three full days, he can post in the Tickets for Review thread above.
Thanks for understanding.
We don’t have a means to remove the 7-day delay in changing worlds, so you need to wait for that option to become available again but you will be able to do so for free if you follow the process you used before.
I understand you’d like to make the switch sooner, but as mentioned above, you can do nearly everything you want to do on your current world while guesting with your friends.
We’re investigating the issue.

I would really like to direct the thanks to Zach and Tyler both of them came in over the weekend to make sure the change got in on time in order to stay on schedule with our QA test plan. I greatly appreciate the work the team put in to make this happen on this short of a time frame.
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to clarify that we did indeed change our plans based on your feedback. What was said during the interviews at Gamescom was correct at the time but after listening to what you had to say we decided to make a change to the feature be in line with what you felt was a more balanced approach to the change.
Thank you very much for your feedback and we hope that you enjoy this upcoming change.
Thanks,
John
Hey everybody,
This week on Episode 20 of Ready Up, Josh will be talking about the International All-Stars Tournament that took place at gamescom last week, as well as the Tournament of Legends Finals taking place this weekend. He will also be touching on the Feature Pack details announced earlier this week. Stay tuned until the end of the show for another installment of the Skill Bar with Karl McLain where he will preview upcoming changes to the mesmer and elementalist professions.

Hey all,
I’m going to be delaying the opening of the Tournament of Glory sign-ups until this upcoming Friday, August 22nd. I’ve been receiving a lot of questions regarding the Tournament of Glory and how it factors into the World Tournament Series, and I want to take some time (now that I’m back from gamescom) to write an FAQ and provide the information you’ll need to make a successful team.
We’ll also be requesting email addresses for all team members during sign-ups to help with reward distribution, and I want to give interested teams time to gather that information. As a reminder, sign-ups are handled on a first-come, first-served basis, so having this information ready ahead of time will help ensure that you’re able to reserve a spot in the tournament.
Thank you for your understanding, and let me know if you have any questions!

At this time it is one model per profession, per gender, per team. I do like the idea of doing some sort of ‘profession archetype’, or a way to visually see if they are a power/toughness/condi/ect spec build. Though I’m not sure what that would look like without adding clutter to the screen.
So if I got this right, if one team has a male warrior and a female warrior, there will be two different models, but if there are two male warriors, there will be only one model that both utilize?
And does this mean that if there are two male warriors on separate teams, they will share the same model?
The male and female will be different. The standard model respects gender.
Two male warriors on different teams will have the same model, but each will have a coloring appropriate for their respective team.
Guys, there’s no conspiracy regarding the order that these were done in. Karl and I both agreed that doing them alphabetically every time wasn’t really fair and settled on a somewhat random order. Every couple weeks, I ask Karl, “What 2 professions do you want to talk about this time?” he tells me and we record them.
There isn’t anything more behind the decision other than sometimes considering how long each profession might go on for so we don’t end up putting two together that are either very long or very short.
Hey there,
What sort of system specs are you working with? Are your video card drivers up to date?
Hi Muusic,
Your processor may have a “turbo boost” feature on it that overclocks automatically when running system heavy applications (like Guild Wars 2). You may want to try disabling this feature to see if you’re still experiencing crashing as Guild Wars 2 is a bit sensitive to overclocking (not the case for everyone, but this has resolved the issue with these processors for many).
Hey there,
Have you tried running as admin or disabling security software? You’ll also want to be sure all system drivers are up to date as well. I know this is pretty basic stuff, but always best to start with the basics until we get more information.

Hi Belisario,
There’s a number of different reasons why you could be crashing and so the more information that you’re able to provide the more quickly you’re likely to get some help on this issue. That said, what sort of system specs are you working with? And as someone mentioned previously, if you could post a crash log, this would be helpful as well.
Hey there,
From the error you’ve reported it appears as though you have what’s known as the TDR bug. As outined on Nvidia forums (https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/389688/geforce-drivers/nvidia-statement-on-tdr-errors-display-driver-nvlddmkm-stopped-/) there is no known single cause of this issue. The common causes are failing power supply, failing video card, corrupt Windows, corrupt drivers and even just simple overheating. Technically speaking, this is an issue Nvidia needs to solve because it’s their TDR (Timeout Detection and Recovery) system that is crashing the driver. In essence, something is crashing the video driver and instead of locking the entire PC and forcing a reboot, the drivers now crash, you get that error message and they reset, keeping you in Windows. Specifically from that forum post:
How does TDR work? Timeout Detection and Recovery
Windows Vista and later operating systems attempt to detect situations in which computers appear to be completely “frozen”. They then attempt to dynamically recover from the frozen situations so that their desktops are responsive again. This process of detection and recovery is known as timeout detection and recovery (TDR).
Common issues that can cause a TDR:
Incorrect memory timings or voltages
Insufficient/problematic PSU
Corrupt driver install
Overheating
Unstable overclocks (GPU or CPU)
Incorrect MB voltages (generally NB/SB)
Faulty graphics card
A badly written driver or piece of software, but this is an unlikely cause in most cases
Driver conflicts
Another possibility that people tend not to like to hear, is that you are simply asking too much of your graphics card. What I mean by this, is that if you have your settings too high and the graphics card struggles and falls to very low FPS, then something graphically complex occurs, the GPU may not be able to respond and a TDR error may occur. There are no categoric fixes but some users have found that changing the power management mode to ‘Prefer Maximum Performance’ has helped.
So I was thinking about the introduction of precurser crafting. I know that John Smith cannot answer specificially concerning such things, but my main concern would be a price shock if/when an annoucnement is made. I would think that even an announcement of such a thing would cause MANY people to rush out and buy up as much T6, Lodestones and whatever else may be thought to be used in such a venture.
My question is would the economy be able to handle such a thing? Would prices climb dramatically for a short period and then stablize? or just spiral upwards out of control? Are these things even considered when discussing the possibily of precurser crafting?
I understand that some of these may not even be able to be discussed in depth, but I am just curious as to how the economy would react to something like this. Thanks!
I’m here to protect the game from major problems like this. Any major feature that would affect the economy of the game I’m brought in to help with.
(a) Does anyone read the “what we would like in the gemstore thread” and take the suggestions into account?
(b) Has anyone ever given you an award for good communication, ie, giving straight answers or, if you don’t have a straight answer, admitting it and explaining why?
A. Yes, people are constantly reading that thread.
B. No
and while I’m here answering questions often, tact clearly isn’t my strongest skillset, so I’ll need to continue developing that before any awards are in order.
The only ticket I see related to your Display Name — mozu.7140 — is this one: #833032. Did you submit that? Did you get the response?
It appears that you previously received an account restoration. Your request for a second restoration will be reviewed, but as explained in the prior discussion, subsequent restoration requests would be fulfilled on a case-by-case basis so it will take a bit of time to fully review and respond to this request.
Thank you in advance for your patience.
This is taken care of so I’ll close the thread. Glad we could help.
After thinking about this I feel like many of you think that every dev should have complete understanding of every aspect of this game. And my gut reaction is to say that it is unreasonable to expect that from us, after all Guild Wars 2 is a huge game, and even now I am still discovering new things in it. And whether or not it is reasonable to expect that, it is not that I don’t have complete understanding due to a lack of trying. I mean sure I only spend about 20 hours a week on my own time playing Guild Wars 2, this does not include the time that ArenaNet sets aside for all of their employees to play the game, and sometimes it can be hard to get through jumping puzzles, fractals, WvW, activities, sPvP, dungeons, tPvP, living story, Hot-Joins, crafting, guild missions, ect with only a finite amount of time each week to play. I could probably cut more time out of playing other games, enjoying my hobbies, working to improve my programming ability, trying to maintain friendships and spending time with family to play more Guild Wars, but right now that isn’t something I am willing to do. So instead I’m just going to understand that some players are going to see problems that I don’t. And ask them for as much information I can so that the problem can be identified and fixed. And I appreciate that our players understand this as well and are willing to bring these problems up in a polite and respectful manner.

This is currently being investigated.
One question:. Will the Title automatically update or will I have to log back into Guild Wars/do anything extra for it to display in Guild Wars 2?
Once the build goes out with this fix, your title should appear automatically. If it does not, I recommend that you do as you suggested and go to Guild Wars and speak to Historian Kimmes then check back in GW2. If the title still does not show up — which I think will be unlikely — please submit a ticket at that time.
Thanks again for your patience.
Hey Gaile!
I submitted one on friday looks like, 839667 is the ticket number. Any help sorting it out would be much appreciated!
Thanks.
Edit: Make that saturday.
Thanks for the info. I see an agent responded yesterday at 3:15 PM Pacific time. Can you please review that response and see if it fully addresses the issue you were having?
I suggest you go ahead and submit a ticket and discuss with a support agent.
We’ll be covering mesmer and elementalist this week.
This is most likely just a case of the system “remembering” your IPs, so if you can accept a few more times, you should be golden. I really encourage you to keep some form of authentication on your account — it really does help minimize the risks of compromise!
If you do need help, please don’t hesitate to submit a ticket and the team will assist you.
