They have just sent an email which they say to login my account and try a few things with my permission and i ve said ok. Hope this is not a common thing and they really do something.
That’s a good thing, and thank you for giving permission. The programmers need to see exactly what’s taking place, so your help can be instrumental in the resolution of this issue.
Many thanks.

Necroposts do not add value, but they do seem to annoy Anet for some odd reason.
All the necroposts show how Anet consistently fail to deliver on their promises. That’s why they annoy Anet.
No, the necroposts are disruptive and do not add value to the topic. If people were bumping these threads to add to the conversation, it would be a different matter. These threads were bumped without any attempt to contribute to the topic.
Anyhow, this topic has been beaten to death at this point. I have made my point clear in a previous post and this topic has gone on for a generous amount of time. After reading every post in this and the other thread, it is clear that those who understand why, understand it and those who don’t won’t, and there’s nothing I can say that will make them understand.

Hey guys,
We’re still looking into this issue, but is there anyone that is still having issues with logging into specific characters still?
Edit: Just to add, it sounds like some of you are reporting very different issues. As it’s better for us to see exactly what’s going on, rather than piping up with a “me too,” the more information that each of you are able to provide in regards to this issue the better.
Thanks for your patience!

Ahh, my bad. I really didn’t see the ‘Submit a Request’ tab. Disregard my foolishness, please.
Maybe a line that says “Submit a request using the tab at the top of the page” would be a bit more clear to those of use with limited awareness. ; )
Interesting idea! Let me converse with my team member about this and see if there’s a way to make the ticket-submission process more visible. I do know the focus of the page is on self-help, because many players (the majority, I think) never need to submit a ticket but simply need to use the Knowledge Base — which is presented front and center — to get the info they need. So perhaps anything that points to “submit a ticket” too broadly would subvert that objective, which means unnecessary delays for the player and a higher ticket volume that will delay response time.
That’s all just musing on my part, though, and I’ll ask. Thank you for the suggestion.

Actually, we split the balance update into multiple episodes because a single, 80 minute balance show was exhausting for both the team and the viewers.
As for content previews, when we are able to talk about upcoming content, we will include it on the show. Until then, the episodes will focus on tournaments and events happening within the competitive community.
Let’s say that, currently, players have to choose between two extremes: either they go full competitive, or they’re left with mindless, unstructured chaos.
In other words, there’s no alternative, outside of competitive queues, that offers structured matchmaking for a quality pvp experience.
(Cough We need an unranked/ leaderboardless queue cough)
This is what I want to get answers to. Is this entire thread a product of not having enough room for casual players to progress within our modes? If we did have an unranked arena, would hotjoin be as big of a problem?

Hotjoin is going to be chaotic no matter what we do since people are free to leave at any time. For people who are wanting a more structured experience, why not play solo or team arena? I’m not asking this to sidestep your concerns, but rather to find out why there is a desire to force structure upon hotjoin when there is already a more structured game mode. This would help us determine if hotjoin actually needs some restructuring, or if there is a better place these types of players can go.

We’ll be posting the information very soon. Rest assured, there will be a Ready Up this Friday.
What you are quoting is a general news post on the main page of the support site. That page is the Support Site, and it has the “Submit a request” near the top center of that page. The form that is presented when you click that link is your webform.
This is not a circular link, although you may assume so if you only read the news post.
I will ask our web team if it’s possible to make the Submit a request section a bit more prominent, but I don’t think they’re modifying the Guild Wars website, so I think folks will just need to look around on that page to find it. It’s definitely there.

Hi Ginnasaur,
There’s a number of different things that could be throwing this error. In order for us to better assist you with this issue, I’d advise creating a support ticket so that we can assist you one on one:
https://help.guildwars2.com/anonymous_requests/new
Hi Rosenbourne,
Can you please start with providing your system specs? Without having anything to go off of, it can be difficult to provide suggestions.
UPDATE as of 05 August 2014:
- The Error 7:11:3:191:101 problem is a known issue and the matter is under investigation by several team members.
- The issue is not isolated to Guild Wars 2, but is also impacting other games.
- You do not need to submit a ticket at this time.
- You might want to reset your modem and/or router to see if that helps you. (That will not resolve the situation for those experiencing the referenced error, but could help players experiencing a different issue.
- We will try to update here in the forums when we know more , but we suggest you may wish to attempt to log in from time to time in case the matter has been resolved before we are able to update.
We apologize for the time it has taken to get the situation resolved and we will keep working on the problem until things are back to normal.

this will make entering spectator mode to force auto balance working as it is intended
This is not intended behavior. One upset player should not be able to force other people to switch teams and stay in the match. Auto-balance is there to keep the team numbers even as people leave the game.

At this point, we’re still working to get this corrected, and we’re sorry if you end up getting more gems then you intended to purchase.
If this happens to you, submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page and then clicking the “Submit a request” option. This is a Payments or Billing Issue, and I know that the team tries to react very quickly to such tickets. They will remove the unwanted gems and issue a credit as quickly as possible, so don’t hesitate to content the team if you want that service.
(I need to say again: Please do not file a charge-back. We will take care of you, but if you file a charge-back we are contractually required to close the account, and we don’t want to do that any more than you want us to!)

I think you are wise to look into this, it very much sounds as if someone is trying to hack your account. I hope you are not giving authorization for those attempts. That is the beauty of authentication — it allows you to decline to authorize access. (Unfortunately, if someone has access to your e-mail account, that would-be hacker can authorize access even if you do not.)
For security’s sake, I suggest you submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page and then clicking the “Submit a request” option. Provide as much information as possible in the web form, which will create a ticket within the support system. If you do not know some of the information requested, leave the field blank. However, there are two drop-down areas that require an answer so be sure to choose from those fields so the ticket is properly submitted. Once you’ve done that, the CS Team should be able to help you.

We have a big data solution to help me manage the obscene quantity of data involved. I have a mix of third party and proprietary tools, but one never fully escapes excel. I’m oldschool and have an unhealthy love for excel, though it has many limitations, so if I need to do more advanced statistics I need to use more serious software.
Excel <3
Anyway, so so glad to see engagement with the red-posts. Why’s this popular? Because FEEDBACK.
So, thanks for all the time you take on this, JS, and even going so far as to explain when policy limits your responses. As for a question, would you be at liberty to discuss the growing gulf between gem-to-gold and gold-to-gem rates? There’s definitely a bit of perception-rancor that I wouldn’t be getting value for my gems relative to those using gold to purchase gems. It’s stopped me in the past from making that conversion.
Was it intended to be an additional gold sink or it is just a proportional effect to gold inflation? Does that gap lower the volatility of gem prices?
I’m not sure what you mean by growing gulf between the rates, the gulf has always been the same.
The gold/gem rates have very little to do with gold inflation inside the game.
Update 05 August 2014
I wanted to let you know that while a lot of the GWAMM issues were addressed last week, we are aware that a few of our players still are having issues displaying their hard-earned (and well-respected!) God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals title.
This is a known issue and it is on the list for a fix. We will include notes about this fix in the Update Notes for the build in which we are able to fully correct this issue. You do not need to submit a ticket about this, the next (and hopefully final
) fix will set things right for everyone.
So, please:
- Watch the update notes for upcoming builds.
- After you see this fix in the notes, check your account and see if your title is showing.
- Submit a ticket at that time _if you still are having difficulties with your title. However, according to the devs, the fix that is going out should get everyone in spiffy shape.
Thank you, once again, for your patience with this matter!

it worked for me.
This is always a good idea, and it takes just a minute or two! I am not implying that everyone experiencing this issue can solve the problem with a router or modem reset, but this is my “go to” step, and it’s really surprising how often it works!

This thread started with finding a way to NOT let people force auto-balance through spectator mode to get on the winning team. Now I’m hearing that this must be preserved with any hotjoin changes because it ‘balances’ the match. I would much prefer players sit an extra minute in a 4v5 to let someone new fill the spot then let players constantly jumble the teams.
Teams are constantly jumbled anyways.
If you want to prevent teams from constantly being jumbled, then let them fill up a bit before starting them. Starting new games when there are only 1-2 people in the game total is a recipe for disaster that we’ve sadly tasted too often.
What about upping the minimum players in ArenaNet custom arenas from 1 then?
At some point you change hotjoin enough to just become a queued arena, which is not the point of custom arenas. I really believe there are little changes we can make that will result in a huge difference.

Step 3 don’t skimp on the extras, advanced statistics and programming. You want to know SQL and python (for now), but you’re way better off with a more fundamental programming education and that means c to c++ to c#, then branching to sql and python.
I apologize for the off topic question, but how difficult is python to learn?
I’ve dealt with C++, played around with C#, and currently working with classic ASP and ASP.NET.
I have been told that if I know C# I should be able to grasp basics. I didn’t know how accurate that was.
Python is not hard at all to learn. If you’re used to programming it will come as quickly as c# from c++.
This probably falls under the category of “questions you can’t answer”, but… given the proven poor value of the recent Tyrian Explorers Knapsack update to the gem store, is it simply that you feel adding an “Empty Box” item to the store for 100 gems is too gauche?
I kid, a more serious question regarding that might be, what goes into deciding what the precise value of items in the gem store should be and the balance between what an item may be actually worth in relation to similar items and what its price is set at? Are there times when something is priced at a point specifically to influence purchases of other things?
Also, add my name to the list of amazed and envious in regards to the massive amounts of data analysis and manipulation at your disposal.
I cannot speak on the details of the gemstore.

I’ve adjusted the position at low resolutions to always be below the targeting UI.
Hey Evan, I am sorry, but it is not fixed. This is a clear visualization of how serious this issue is. (this is a hot join game I joined to test,.)
Sorry, I meant I’ve fixed it for a future build. Things like this cannot be fixed without a build, and this isn’t hotfix material. You’ll have to wait a while.
It’s nice to see a response to a player’s concern. Something like this thread is NEVER seen in WvW.
Just the fact that you…
1. Recognized an issue.
2. Inquired about and found root cause
3. Replied that the issue was resolved but that it would be rolled out in a later fix.WvW forum process is instead.
1. Recognize an issue.
2. Say it will be fixed “soon” or say “we can’t discuss things in development”
3. Silence…….. sometimes for as long as a year
4. When players Necro original thread, post a sticky threatening players about not Necroing threadsEven though I don’t play sPvP, I’ll go out of my way to say thanks for resolving this but more importantly, communicating back to the players about the issue. This is the type of community building that has been lacking in these (GW2) forums.
I consider this a special case because it was a trivial fix. We all work in much the same way.
Perhaps you should come try sPvP…

You may never use this forum to make an immediate plea for help, when you’ve just submitted a ticket.
You may never submit duplicate tickets. You are wasting our time and delaying our responses to you and to other players and that is extremely unfair.
Allow the team to work through your tickets and be patient because they need to close at least three duplicate tickets that you created.

Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for this game. You choose to not read them, you take the risk.
Freedom of speech means that the GOVERNMENT can’t make laws that infringe upon your right to speak. Is ANet a government agency now?
First ammendment reads as follows: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
Since ANet is not the government, they can come up with whatever naming policy they want and not be in violation of the first ammendment. If they want to change the rules to state that all characters must abide by racial lore of the race they chose, then they can do that.
Oh my gosh, thank you! I’ve been singing the “You Don’t Understand ‘Freedom of Speech’” song for 1.5 decades!
As for the name, yes, it’s offensive. No, we will not reinstate it, apologize for our position, or review our policies.
