Just to refresh anyone new to the thread/topic: We accidentally made World 2 too difficult. We released a patch that helped as much as we could afford to risk mucking around with the Live game. We’re keeping tabs of all the feedback and incorporating that into any future releases. Thanks everybody!
The team definitely can try to help, and it appears to me that the info he does have may lead to a satisfactory outcome, so DO have him submit a ticket!
do not even mention selling in game items/codes on ebay or elsewhere, do not mention buying it online or charging gold or in game items for the code…it is a breach of the EULA and before anyone says “its allowed” confer to a dev/support because people selling Aion Wing codes in gw1 were terminated/suspended and the items removed from account/inventory nulling the entire trade.
People sell codes. And people, daily, get ripped off by buying them. If you think a GW2 Team member talking about that is a bad thing, I’d argue it’s a good thing to make it clear that:

I’ve looked at the ticket, and you only informed Support of your concerns about the roll-back date a couple of hours ago. Please give them time to review your ticket and respond to you. First, because only they can answer the question and second, because no one on the forum would be able to answer why that date was chosen.

Season 1 is going forward as we described, however nothing about future seasons is set in stone. We’ll take a look at the data we get from the first season and will absolutely make adjustments so that future seasons are even better than the first one.
My concern with four leagues is simply that there isn’t enough variety at that point. I could very well be wrong, but we are going to try season 1 this way and then we’ll take a look at how it played out.

“Got Banned For Saying The Word ‘African.’” Is that really your position? Because the records prove, and I’m sure you know, that you said far, far worse than “African.” You used an offensive, racial slur more than once, and you were (accurately) reported and actioned. In addition, you were not “banned” but suspended, as explained in the in-game message that you were shown when the action was taken.
However, do be aware that if you continue to use that sort of offensive language, you will suffer serious consequences, up to and including account termination. So give a thought to your in-game chat and avoid offensive words and phrases.

The balance in PvE vs PvP will always be different, but there are certain tools that will help make the swap less jarring once they are complete. What I’m talking about is templates. If you played GW, they had templates that you could create and share with friends both in the game and outside of the game.
These templates would save all of your characters stats (armor, weapons, traits, skills) so that you could click a button and everything would swap over. This is something we would like to do in GW2 to help players swap between different areas of the game.
Since the request posed in the OP has already been answered, and this thread has veered away from its original topic, we’re going to lock this thread.

Is this a regression you are seeing or a new machine you are querying from? I assume the latter. Perhaps the machine you are querying from doesn’t have some standard root certificates installed. Ensure the GeoTrust Global CA cert in installed on your machine.

Remember, for many incoming contacts, “Those are not the droi… emails you are looking for.” ‘) There’s a world of difference between what you’re seeking and what you’re getting, right? Familiarize yourself with how the authentication mail looks, and look at it very critically. Then, simply delete those that are not identical to the authentication mail or that arrive when you have not requested a log-in that would send the auth email. If you’re not sure, check the A Note About Phishing thread to make sure you’re not taken in by a phishing attempt.

Hey folks, no worries. There are several routes through which you go to access the game or the forums, and I’m told the forum sometimes throws an access IP from Texas, but that’s you… or us… or you talking with us on the forums. So it’s all good.
Folks, if you are having a problem, please DO contact Support. In most cases, they will be able to help you, so don’t hesitate to submit a ticket. (When I say “most cases” naturally they could not help you if you happened to buy a bogus code from an unscrupulous third party, but I’m sure none of you did that, so file that ticket! )
ok, there are two important things to do to get this back on track.
a: Ask your brother to close the second ticket, that will only delay things.
b: Ask him to update the original ticket, he can respond to it by explaining it didn’t work and saying the error message.If he waited for longer then 72 hours to a response to his first ticket, I would advise to post the ticketnumber in the sticky thread.

We cannot remove character slots, it’s that simple. It’s like buying a car with air conditioning. The upgrade isn’t removeable. I am sorry that you purchased too many, but there isn’t a way for us to remove them, and therefore we obviously cannot offer you a refund.
We do have a confirmation process in place to prevent unintended purchases, as mentioned above. And I’m pretty there there’s a warning about not clicking multiple times. I’m sorry if you ended up with more than you intended.

This thread is locked. If you have submitted a ticket — and I stand corrected, I see that you did — then surely you will be helped as soon as possible. If an error was made, it will be corrected. But tossing out accusations, insults to the intelligence of staff, and “How dare you”s isn’t productive, and is in fact disallowed by the Forum Code of Conduct.
If you continue to need help after three days — and only after three days and not before — you may post in the Tickets for Review thread, providing your ticket number. Until then, please be patient and allow this to be resolved properly.
Edited: The OP did not make threats of legal action — that came from someone else (although a reference to “my mother the attorney” certainly directed the comments that followed). The point is, a submitted ticket is good and it will be addressed very soon indeed.

When you log into the forums it will display a login from Texas occasionally due to the connection that needs to be made to tie the forums and the login servers. This is not a bug, and not an account hijack attempt.

I remember this popping up not too long ago, but can’t remember where we left off on it. I’ve been playing Necro a lot lately and it has been bothering me, too. I’ll talk to the guys on Monday and see what this is all about, and see about taking care of it.
I think it was mentioned at some point there was a cooldown added to prevent unwanted skill executions when leaving a transformation. But again, I’m not sure if this was intended for Death Shroud.

What is the size of the Gw2.tmp file? If its > 0kb, that means that the patcher isn’t able to clobber the old Gw2.exe. In which case leads me to believe that either Windows UAC or an antivirus program is blocking it.

Just finished reading through all 12 pages. Thanks to everyone for 12 pages of positive and constructive feedback. Keep it up and keep in mind these are updates from just the skills team so try to focus on skills traits and other combat related stuff.

Sorry, I know I’ve been somewhat absent from the forums for much of this year. That’s something I aim to remedy.
Its probably failing to relaunch the new .exe after that initial patch. Make sure you’re running it as an administrator.
Also, what files do you have in your game folder? if there are Gw2.000→Gw2.999 files there, that indicates the patching process is failing. Usually indicative of the above issue or an anti-virus program that’s preventing the patching process from completing. You could try adding Gw2.exe and Gw2.tmp to allowed exceptions in your anti-virus software.

For clarification, all of these changes will occur when the Fractals are updated to include the new fractal that was determined as a result of the election in July. It is in development now and should be released before the end of the year.

Your account was compromised on the 5-18, 5-23, 6-22, and 9-13, and the person from BC has been logging into your account since 3-8. There have been no logins to your account from Texas.
Needless to say the security compromise is on your end. Most likely whoever you purchased your game from was not reputable (thus compromising your serial code), or at one time your email was compromised and the serial code was taken from that. I would suggest contacting Customer Support to get your Serial Code changed. If you do decide you want to come back, I would highly suggest adding an authenticator.

With Tuesday’s release we are gearing up to launch the new Looking For Group tool for Guild Wars 2. As the system comes online, our primary focus is with the quality and the stability. To ensure a solid rollout, we’ll turn on the LFG tool in beta form to a subset of players. As the week goes on, we’ll periodically unlock the system to additional groups of players.
In Tuesday’s release notes, you’ll see the complete list of what the feature will do once we’ve fully unlocked the system. However, during the beta rollout not everyone will be able to use the LFG tool and the World vs. World subcategories will be disabled.
The Looking for Group feature has been highly requested and we’re excited to be this close to its final release, but quality is paramount. Therefore, we ask for your patience and understanding while we work through this phased beta rollout and with any problems we encounter.

@ Rewards: We want to make it more fun to rank up and we want to provide more incentive to rank up. We also want to have more fun progression as you’re ranking up with cool rewards as you’re ranking.
We also don’t like how long it takes to rank up for some players after they hit a certain rank, so we’ll be addressing that as well.
@ Bigger maps: The idea right now is to make something that can scale in team size so that you can play it in bigger teams, or smaller teams. We also want to make sure we spread people out on the maps in a way that creates space, while also creating pockets where conflict is encouraged (and rewarded!).
We have different game types brewing at different levels of completion.
Some of them break away entirely from capture points and put the scoring emphasis on objectives/kills.
Some, as you guys know, are just different ways of looking at death match.
We don’t want to just release a ton of new game modes, so the reason we don’t talk about all of them is we’re basically testing a lot of them, and then we’ll see which ones work the best together.
As we’ve said before, we also want to be sure we don’t put out too many, and split up the players too much, while putting out enough so that you guys have variety.
We are working on new game modes. As we get closer to being ready to talk about them more, we’ll give you guys more details!
