Of course, now I’ve ruined that one as well. But there’s a lot of yellow creatures out there that never get killed. Go kill them all.
haha, i definitely will do so next time i wanna level up. btw, does this bonus experience go up further than 200% when even more time passes? and have you considered extending this bonus to loot/MF or even events (that haven’t been played in a while) and their respective rewards (exp+karma+coin)? i believe this could aid you in trying to repopulate many abandoned open-world areas.
No, two hours is the cap.
Also I have proposed adding this kind of boost to events, but I don’t think it’s a high priority at this time.
For new JP’s added to the game, would it be possible to add a one-time reward to each one that was unique or themed like the JP? I know that might be a lot to ask, but the general idea of a nice reward for the first run of a JP I think would be really cool.
I would love to do that. But then we have the problem of driving those who hate JPs to do them so they can get the goodies. And we don’t want people to feel like they have to do stuff they hate in the game.
Hi there. I wanted to let you know that I edited your post to remove the account-specific information. I don’t see any value in having account and character names visible.
So please have your friend submit a ticket and the team will help him!
That comment wasn’t sarcastic. This thread is evidence of why they put precursors in their mail, because it makes you think about it. That’s how marketing works.
You ask “Why else would my support account have been inaccessible if not for the ban? I’ve seen other users in this forum report the same thing (when perma-banned).”
My answer is that perhaps you are using incorrect credentials, or maybe your email account or your support account was also hacked.
I mean, if we closed access to Support, then players would not be able to contact us, to file an appeal, to update their tickets, and as you can see in these forums, lots of people do that every day.
We do not prevent players from reaching Support through their Support Account, so I encourage you to try again. If you still have troubles, then I recommend setting up a second account for support using a different email address so that you can get these questions answered for you.
I hope this goes quickly for you and will you please update when you have a resolution?
I think Michael has made a very useful suggestion. Can you give it a try (while keeping in mind that if it makes your refrigerator blow up, it’s not on us. )
Because you guys have no means of accessing our refrigerators… right?
I understand, Kuro, and sadly a few players might try to grief others by false reporting. But I think we have it covered in two ways: (1) reports are verified, and (2) those who submit false reports are subject to account action (if they do it repeatedly — an accidental mis-report isn’t going to land someone in trouble).
So it’s not likely that the blocks on the account were prompted by a person reporting three of your friends. I hope we’ll be able to sort out what did happen and get them back into the game very quickly.
Was the step “An Apple a Day”? It’s the step before Chapter 5. Since you edited your post, I can’t look up the VO line you remember, but there are no story steps that I can find that involve multiple champions, and a “Minsterial Guard” wouldn’t even have a colored nameplate. (Generally, NPCs with a proper name will have a gold name border, but generic NPCs do not.)
I think Michael has made a very useful suggestion. Can you give it a try (while keeping in mind that if it makes your refrigerator blow up, it’s not on us. )
My favorite still is the clock tower. It took the longest of all the JP’s for me, but it felt amazing to finish it.
I’d like to know Josh, if the area in Sparkfly Fen near the Point of Interest and Vista The Tower of Modius that you gain access to through Verarium Delves is going to be a JP later?
I’m not online right now to provide a screenshot but what I came across was a rich platnium with a veteran guarding it, then some bushes to the side that were hiding a cave with what looked like a crumbling fort inside that didnt have anything inside.
Thank you Josh for all the amazing work you & everyone have put into these JP’s, ME LOVE YALL LONG TIME.
Hm. Interesting. I worked on that map mid-development. Meaning someone owned before me and after me. That’s the map where I first started playing around with JPs. The tall ruins bridges and the pirate ghost base in the NE of that map were my first experiments. Then the Lich tower was my idea for making them a mandatory part of an event. Originally you had to take a crazy circuitous rout to get to the cave opening above the tower and drop down onto it. But after I handed the map off to someone else, I know we changed our policy so that no JPs are required for events, map complete, etc. I haven’t actually gone back to that map since launch, so I haven’t seen all the changes, but it’s possible that what you’re seeing is left overs from work I did that had to be cut. But I know that several enterprising map artists are digging around for spots to add more JPs, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it got reopened at some point.
same thing happened to me, void. send in a support ticket and have the support team review your account history. turnaround is quick if you’re able to get their questions answered as soon as you receive them via email or through your support account.
best of luck!
Thanks for your comments, kiba. Please note, void, that the more information contained in the first ticket — or added by updating it — the faster the team can help you. That’s why I link to the How to Submit a Ticket post.
The character name was offensive. You were warned against such choices. You were suspended, which you were foretold.
Your display name also was offensive. It was changed. No additional suspension was placed on your account, although strictly speaking that could have happened within the expressed policies about name infractions.
You were kindly allowed to rename.
You were generously given a display name close to your chosen one.
Hereby ends the discussion of your issue. If you choose to troll the forums about this, if you choose to take over other players’ posts with your personal complaints and irrelevant “contributions” to threads that are not about you or your issue, you will serve a time out here, as well. There is only so much kindness and generosity we reasonably can be expected to show.
Nothing has changed in our bot detection. And as always, we are happy to review any case where a false-positive has accidentally blocked a legitimate account. Please continue to discuss this with Support.
If you find you still need help after three days, feel free to post in the Tickets for Review thread, which is at the top of this Account Support sub-forum.
No, we cannot help with issues related to selling a game account. Selling an account is strictly forbidden, and we should use our support resources to aid legitimate players, not those in breach of the User Agreement.
Thank you both for your kind words. I’m really happy that the team was able to help you so quickly, and really — it means a lot that you took the time to write here, so I can share it with the team.
Feel free to read the Naming Policy for an answer to your question. You might note exclusions pertaining to human anatomy.
I did not take action on the name, but I assume an agent did so based on reports. And I imagine that the opinions expressed by Darth Llama are not unique.
I’m sorry for the distress, but the fastest way to get to the bottom of this is for you to contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist you. For tips on what information to provide in a ticket, please read this post.
The sound volume on the chainsaw skin was toned down by player request because it was drowning out other noises and negatively impacting other players. Cody Crichton, our QA Audio specialist, goes into more detail on the history of this in his post in the Audio forum.
If you have any additional feedback on this change, feel free to post in that thread. In the meantime, as this is not a bug, this thread will be closed.
Without ourselves knowing the true situation and full extent of the decision, maybe we players shouldn’t fill in the blanks with “NCSoft Overlords perma-banned Cantha!?!?” I for one will try to stay open and keep hoping!
Indeed. I’ve been in this industry for 16 years and worked with a several publishers including Interplay, Sierra, THQ and now NCSoft. And for what it’s worth, the amount of creative freedom that NCSoft gives ArenaNet is MASSIVE compared to the others. NCSoft is crazy successful for a reason. They recognize the talent here and support us with a very hands-off policy in general. They give us a LOT of feedback and data to work with, but I’ve never got the impression that they are overlords like I have with the other publishers I’ve worked under.
Trying hunting for bonus XP on monsters. If you kill a monster that hasn’t been killed in two hours, it’s worth an additional 200% I believe. Which means that those yellow moas next to that so-called profitable event chain are worth about 500xp a piece (plus your food XP bonus, which you should always have running). As I recall, there’s like twenty of them just walking around on the ice there.
Of course, now I’ve ruined that one as well. But there’s a lot of yellow creatures out there that never get killed. Go kill them all.
Lotherain, we really appreciate that you took the time to give us your feedback, which will be passed on to the team. Rest assured that your friend only needs to wait till Customer Support gets back to him; in any case, if the ticket has been not solved in 3 days, please write the reference number and a little description in the subforum sticky for old tickets.
From here the forums there is little we can do. Your friend needs to contact as soon as possible Customer Support and provide a detailed description of this problem, long with these details that identify him as the owner of his account. If the ticket goes unanswered for three or more days, you can post the reference number here.
I really think they need to adjust lodestone drops.
Then the prices of lodestones would drop
In a virtually economy like this one, that isn’t necessarily true. Because of the ease of entry, it’s not uncommon to see an item become more common, more players receive the item naturally and enter the market, creating more demand and increasing prices instead of decreasing prices.
As our artists have also said in interviews that one of the purposes of concept art is that it is a way to convey mood to a viewer and to serve as inspiration for designers. Concept art is not necessarily a blueprint to follow by rote. There is stuff in the game that looks like the concept art, but just because something is depicted in the concept art doesn’t necessarily follow that it will make it into the game.
Please take your tinfoil hats off and be reasonable.
The guy made a fair point, you got folk riding stuff all over the concept art thats been plastered around the new patch. I for one don’t believe there are going to be mounts, nor do I particularly care, but I feel you could have given a better answer.
Rather than making smart remarks about tinfoil hats why not just tell people something. Anything along the lines of ‘no’, ‘yes’ or ’we’re thinking about it’ would be about a thousand times more helpful.
To quote caffynated:
“I liked what the devs had to say for the most part. The problem is that they’re only talking to tPvP players who see everything through their gun fight in a hallway meta. They whine about things being OP that are weak anywhere outside of a shoe box. These SOTG talks really need to include people from WvW who have a better handle on how classes interact in a more complex environment than a 12’ radius circle.”
To be fair, I think this SotG thing is for sPvP. If some enterprising WvW players started something similar for WvW we would come talk about WvW. Expect the balance part of these discussions to focus on sPvP because that is who we think the audience of that stream is. Same thing goes for PvE, and at one point Jonathan did mention those formats and that we are working on balance issues in all these areas.
I don’t really think it is a matter of right vs wrong. Separating the queues is technology we haven’t developed. Bracketing them so that when you queue you play as 5s,4s,3s,2s,solo you tend to queue vs those is something we are working towards because its part of a robust single system. It also is the version that solves everything except the edge cases without fragmenting the player base and creating long wait times in certain brackets. This is why this is the right system for the game RIGHT NOW.
It isn’t that the points Teldo, et al. make are invalid they are just more valid for a more mature game like LoL, a game which has been out 3 years longer than we have.
The short answer is that new content is not going to drive people away from the game. There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.
The long answer is that guilds are indeed both social structures and reward mechanisms. We realize rewards can strain social connections and we do our best to prevent it. We want you to be able to play with your friends without feeling pressured by the game to spend your time doing otherwise. We’re still fine-tuning some details, but the general idea is that rewards from new guild content system are rate-limited in such a way that a smaller, more-focused groups can maintain a similar pace to the larger ones. So no, you won’t have to abandon your friends and join mega-guilds to benefit from the system, but that’s not to say the mega-guilds won’t have plenty of stuff to do.
I don’t want to go into too many more details until our team formally releases all of the information in our upcoming blog post. But I hope that helps for now.
I am afraid we still are unable to give you news about this at this moment. Rest assured that if we allow new payment methods in the future, we will announce them through our official channels so everyone knows about it .
We close the thread now.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
