This seems like a somewhat complicated issue that may have elements that are specific to you, as a user/player. I encourage you to contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist you by looking at each of your accounts and helping you secure them, if necessary.

Hey glad that worked! If you’re curious as to whether or not a specific application caused this issue for you, it’s a bit tedious, but you can try the following:
1. Press and hold the Windows key and then hit the R key. This should bring up the Run dialog box.
2. Type “MSCONFIG” without the quotes, and click “OK.” This should open the System Configuration Utility.
3. Go to the “Startup” tab and check one item.
4. Next go to “Services” tab and check the “Hide All Microsoft Services” check box, then check one item.
5. Click the “OK” button and you will get a prompt to restart your computer. Please restart your computer.
Once Windows is back up, do not start any other programs and then try the game again. You can repeat this process (adding one more each time) until you receive the errors again. When this happens disable the process that was last selected and try adding another one. If it works, then you have found the problem. If it doesn’t, it is likely the amount running.
If you would like to re-enable all of the processes that we disabled:
1. Follow steps “1” and “2” above.
2. Go to the “General” tab and select “Normal startup”.
3. Click “OK”.
You will need to reboot the computer for the changes to take effect.
Hi Taven thanks for the screenshots and the DxDiag! It looks like you’ve got some of your settings turned down incredibly low which would distort the image somewhat, and I apologize if I had misread your issue.
I would definitely recommend creating a support ticket so that we can assist you one on one because there’s a bit more info we may need to request from you that I’m not sure you’d want to have to keep posting to the thread. This could potentially involve just some settings in your Catalyst Control Center.
As for the upgrades, 8 GB of RAM should be plenty, although you may want to consider upgrading your card if you’re looking for a performance boost. Guild Wars 2 is very CPU heavy, though upgrading your graphics card wouldn’t hurt either.
With AMD cards, you can look at it like this: the first digit is the generation, the second is the series, and the last two say the model. Examples:
4xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx are the generations, the higher the number the newer it is. Not necesary the most powerful but more efficient.
x9xx – The most powerful series.
x8xx – Mid-High-end tier series.
x7xx – Low-Medium-end tier series.
x6xx – Low-end tier series.
So that should give you some idea of what you’re getting when looking at cards. Tom’s Hardware actually has a pretty helpful graphics card hierarchy chart which gives you a nice breakdown of most AMD and Nvidia cards.
If you have any other questions just let me know.
Hey guys sorry to hear that so many of you are experiencing this issue. We’re still currently looking into this but at the moment there is no known resolution.
Hi Laura MacIntyre – It’s likely your school has some of the ports blocked. You’ll want to get in contact with your school’s IT department to see if they can get those opened for you or at the very least check to see if they’re open and unrestricted.
Guild Wars 2 requires TCP ports 80, 443, 6112 and port 6600 be fully unrestricted and accessible, both inbound and outbound.
I am sure there are already multiple threads about this.
I move it to suggestions.

Hey thanks for the Game Advisor report Object. I want to apologize for the wall of text in advance, but I would like for you to try freeing up some system resources to see if this resolves the issue for you as I’m not seeing anything else within the report that would indicate why you’re experiencing this issue.
I would like to rule out the possibility that there is another program interfering with the game connection. To do this, we use a Windows command called “MSCONFIG.”
Please note, this command will not uninstall any applications from your computer. All MSCONFIG does is prevent these applications from automatically starting when Windows boots up.
To do this:
1. Press and hold the Windows key and then hit the R key. This should bring up the Run dialog box.
2. Type “MSCONFIG” without the quotes, and click “OK.” This should open the System Configuration Utility.
3. Click on the “Services” tab and check the “Hide All Microsoft Services” check box near the bottom, then click the “Disable All” button. (You MUST click “Hide all Microsoft Services”)
4. Next go to the “Startup” tab and click the “Disable All” button.
5. Once these items are all disabled, click the “OK” button and you will get a prompt to restart your computer. Please restart your computer.
6. Once you return to Windows, please try connecting to the game again.
To reverse these settings, simply run MSCONFIG again and click “Normal Startup” on the first window labeled “General.”
Note: If you need a specific application to run with Windows but still want to use MSCONFIG, just follow the above instructions and on step 4, re-check any application you feel needs to start with Windows. Examples would be wireless connection software, mouse or keyboard applications or even security applications. Please note that security applications can often be a contributing factor to such issues. If you haven’t done so already, please also disable any Anti-virus, Firewall or other security applications for testing purposes. While we do not recommend running your machine without a security application, should disabling the software help resolve your issue we can reinstall it and work to configure the application so it doesn’t cause this issue.
Please try these settings and let me know if they have any effect on your issue.
You can delete all the characters on the account and then change servers for free. The transfer costs only kick in for accounts with characters on them.
I followed up with the team to make sure that someone is viewing this. I believe that it’s in the issues review queue and that it will be examined, but I have followed up just to be sure.
Some of you need to lighten up a bit

If you want to discuss a name issue, please contact Support directly by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page.
Walabone: Your issue has been addressed fully in your ticket and here in the forums. Do not post about this again. The policy is clear, the rules are accepted by each user, and we will not rescind the name censor for a childishly offensive name that you chose to use. You were given the courtesy of selecting a new name; you were not forceably renamed, as happens in many games (and will happen if you choose poorly again). I suggest that you accept this and move on. If you do not, you risk outcomes for breaching several forum rules against turning these forums into a personal soap box and you will be guilty of promulgating untruths to the members.
Everyone: We do not offer a service to change a name upon request. At some point in the future, you will be able to purchase a name change through our Gem Store. However if you feel that you have a name that may be seen as offensive, you should contact Support and a team member will assess the situation and, in some cases, flag the name for a change. Generally, by “self-reporting” a player avoids a suspension and we remove an offensive or borderline name from the game. Truly a win/win, eh? This means that yes, there is a way to address this and suspensions and censor flags are not the only outcomes if someone is willing to reach out to Support and discuss the name in question. (Obviously, this should not be used to request a free name change “just because” but only because it’s potentially unacceptable.)

We have an extensive email thread about this internally, and this is a client-side issue, meaning you can see this information but others cannot. The programmers and testers have not been able to make the email address appear to anyone other than the account holder.
Please don’t quit the game!
I think perhaps I can explain what is happening. For security reasons, we don’t allow continual or too-frequent password resets. So if someone makes a typo — and that is more common than you would think — he or she needs to wait two hours before attempting another password reset.
What we’ve found over the last week or two is that people are submitting for repeated password resets within a brief period of time. If you do that within two hours of the last attempt, your effort is blocked.
I was just asked to write up new in-game messaging on this today. In the future, you will see this message: “An error has occurred. Please verify that you are entering the correct information and wait at least two hours to try again. If the problem persists, please contact support.” We think this is better and more helpful information than the previous error messages.
So, you could make sure you wait 2 hours between attempts or, if you wish, contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page.
It’s a bug. I have a fix in for it.
The price of gems has been confirmed to be completely controlled by ArenaNet, who confirmed it, ArenaNet, in a previous post in this forum. I don’t know if the number of people purchasing gems has anything to do with it.
What post would that be?
Think about the total supply of money.
Then also consider happenings inside the game (sales, new items) and how the currency exchange works.
You’ll have your answer.
Have you tried restarting your client after switching the Audio language? The launcher has to download the audio files for the new language you’re switching to, and it will default to English until that has been done.
All dialogue VO in the game will then be transitioned to the new language (Both French and German are supported), and this will not just limit to the cinematics.
Not even close: 9 and 11
well i think if J sharp or J peters showed up in anvil rock they would get mobbed so badly that they would probably be traumatized and not want to design PVP anymore.
I’m transferring there today. We’re not afraid to talk to you guys.
Hi Fabio D – Lag issues are always kind of hard to look into as there are a number of different factors that can contribute to lag. More often than not it is an ISP issue though I am definitely not dismissing the fact that this could potentially be server side as well.
That being said, some troubleshooting and a bit of investigation needs to be done in order to reach a conclusion, and the best way to do this is with one on one support.
With any lag issue I always recommend players try bypassing their router and connecting directly to their modem (if able), eliminating any unnecessary start-up background applications via Msconfig (making sure to hide all Microsoft processes of course), running a Winsock reset, and even a defrag of your hard drive.
Next, we need to look at traceroutes. These will show us packet loss and ping, and generally indicate where the issue lies. Sometimes we’ll ask for a report from a third party application such as PingPlotter since it nicely illustrates a player’s connection and any latency and packet loss. To avoid running any third-party applications, we can also look at Network Diagnostic reports. You can provide this by following the steps below:
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Right-click on “GW2.exe – Shortcut” and select “Rename.”
4. Rename this file to “Guild Wars 2 Diagnostic.”
5. Right-click on “Guild Wars 2 Diagnostic” and select “Properties.”
6. Locate the “Target” line and add the following to the end " -diag"
Your target line should look like this: “C:\Gamse\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -diag
7. Click “Ok” to save your changes.
8. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Diagnostic” to start the test.
Once completed, please click “View Results” and save the results to a text file on your desktop. Once saved, you can attach that to this thread for review.
So, I apologize for the wall of text, but this is why this issue is generally best handled through our support ticketing system.
Hey folks,
Thanks for bringing this back up. We still had the safety measure on after the patch went through that fixed the problem. We have now turned the safety measure off, and can confirm that the Svanir in the forest area will now drop loot once again.
Hi there Phatzoo,
I’m thinking the best place to start would be with a repair. First, I would like for you to navigate to Documents\Guild Wars 2 and delete the local.dat file. Next, please try the following to repair your Guild Wars 2 installation:
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Repair.”
4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
5. Edit the “Target” line to include -repair at the end.
Note: Please make sure -repair is outside of the quotes
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -repair
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe -repair”
6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.
7. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Repair” to start the repair process.
Once completed, please try starting Guild Wars 2 again.
Hi Taven – Could you attach a screenshot of your in-game graphics settings in addition to a DxDiag report? You can find the DxDiag by hitting the Windows key + R and typing in “dxdiag.” You will want to make sure you click “Run 64-bit DxDiag” and then “Save All Information” to an easy to find location such as your desktop.
Once you have this, you can attach it to the thread by clicking “More posting & formatting options…” under your reply.

Hi Object – I’d like to collect a Game Advisor report so I can look into why you might be experiencing this issue. You can download the Game Advisor application at the link below:
http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor/
Please note that you will be automatically prompted to install Game Advisor upon clicking the link. Once you’ve generated the report, you can attach it to this thread by clicking “More posting & formatting options…”
Hi StrayDilettante – This issue is currently being looked into as either a bug, or potentially a driver based issue. Could you please provide either your full system specs, or attach a DxDiag report to the thread? You can attach it by clicking “More posting & formatting options…”
A quick note here to reinforce that supply orders do not necessarily imply supply. In the last 24 hours apprx 50,000 of these were sold on the TP.
The botters weren’t “manipulating” the T6 markets, they were just pushing an unnatural supply that wouldn’t normally exist. How quickly those markets snapped back to the intended equilibrium after the bans shows you how high the velocity of those markets is.
Please note that we have an existing thread for reporting issues with guilds. If you are still experiencing issues, please post there so our programmers are aware of it.
In the future, please do not bump old threads to report new issues. This thread will now be closed.
I tend to let the discussion threads drive themselves, so that we here at Anet can watch them and what the players say without directly influencing what goes on in here. We do read this thread though, and I actively browse it when I get moments to do as such.
One of the things I’d like to address is the question of “Why would you do only half the update?” implying that phase 1 and phase 2 should have been rolled out together and made into one huge update some time further down the line.
The main reason is because res-rushing was a problem to the entertainment and longevity of dungeons, and was never an intended mechanic for players to be able to do. Our explorable dungeons were billed from the start to be harder content that required teamwork and would test your character prowess. Res rushing meant that players didn’t need to be coordinating with each other or have character/class mastery – they could just throw themselves at content until they eventually completed it, incurring armor repair costs and having a negative experience as a result.
I PUG dungeons quite frequently, and I often saw people not helping downed players, and not even trying to res people. They would just die and run back while the rest of the team held Agro, and this would cycle between players until the boss finally died.
People really didn’t have to learn boss mechanics or communicate with each other to figure things out. That was the inherent problem with res rushing and why it had to be removed.
Res rushing had to be resolved. Dungeons can be completed without res rushing, so we know the content isn’t impossible. It’s hard, and we’re watching carefully to identify places that may still be unfair. Anti res-rushing was going to be an update no matter what, independent of any other actions we wanted to do with dungeons. It only became a “Phase 1” when we decided we wanted to tell players about upcoming boss changes to dungeons, which we are calling “Phase 2.”
The boss and monster re-designs/improvements are something we have wanted to do since launch, and we want to include the community in the process. There’s room to improve, and we want to make things better. We are looking at each dungeon individually and doing what we can to make things more interactive and entertaining while staying true to our promise that dungeons will be tougher content that requires coordination.
As requested, this thread has been closed.
Hello Ayin,
sorry for the inconvenience. However, if you have submitted a ticket
here the issue will be addressed promptly.
Have a nice day!
I’m working on fixes for these types of commune related Temple issues. Though they won’t make it in until the next major patch. In the meantime, we are rotating Temple out of the paid tournament rotating, tomorrow.

Profanity Filter — Specifies the amount of profanity to filter in chat and other communications.
I was recently suspended for using “inappropriate language”. Please read my message sent to support below.
Hi, I was recently trying to log into my Guild Wars 2 account but received a temporary suspension for “inappropriate language”. After reviewing the rules of conduct I have discovered that the reasons in which I have been suspended are justified, yet the guidelines are contradicted withing the game itself. I pose this problem to the support staff. When initially starting the game, I had selected a setting so that inappropriate language would NOT be filtered. Now, whenever I have happened to use inappropriate language we can acknowledge that because of this setting, only people who willingly choose to see the language will in fact see it. Given that most people do not read the rules of conduct before playing a game, having an option to not filter profanity makes it seem very clear that profanity is allowed and readily available, so far as the user has decided they can be mature enough to handle it. Now knowing that foul language is NOT allowed in the game, I fail to see why there should be an option to show it. This is misleading and my suspension due to profanity seems misguided. I hope to be able to log back into my account ASAP so I can inform my peers that profanity does not fly in Tyria.
Thank you for your consideration in the matter,
MacAnyone have thoughts on the matter?
This isn’t a point for discussion or debate so I will post a brief answer and lock this thread. You can find a longer answer elsewhere, because the “Use the filter” excuse has been proposed as a form of appeal for a justified account suspension many times.
The Name and Word Filter does not exist as a “license to swear.” The filter is there, like a door lock, to provide some level of security against the unwanted. But whether a homeowner owns or uses the door lock or not is immaterial; another person does not have the right to intrude into someone else’s home. By the same token, whether someone uses the filter or not isn’t the factor; no one has the right or privilege to use offensive language in the game.
The rules are clearly defined in the UA, the Rules of Conduct, and the Naming Policy, all posted for everyone’s easy access on our Legal Page.

@ Raid: We do not consider Raid to be a tournament map at this point in time.
@ # of maps?: Right now we will do one map per week, so that teams can adjust to the new maps and get their builds ready. This will also allow us to see the meta shift week by week, based on the map. This is very useful information for us.
I haven’t played in a while and I completely forgot about the warning in the in-game mail… The first character that I had made didn’t see much play-time, so I deleted it, learning very shortly after that I had lost the first-character items from the CE.
Ticket #130113-000163
I hope I can get this worked out… Either way, thanks in advance.
Just submitted ticket #130112-001842 for this. Apparently I’m a moron and mistakenly deleted my CE in-game items. Thanks so much for your help and understanding!

Well looks like I’m not the only one – to add a little humor if feel like Hugo the Abominable Snowman that says “which way did he go george” in the bugs bunny cartoons – love the game btw
and it would be awesome if you could fix my mistake on this one:)
Ticket #130110-000401 just submitted for this very reason. I wish I had seen this forum thread before deleting my first character with the DDE items.
I created my character just about a week ago, and realized I had made a mistake with my character name – without thinking I deleted my character after having claimed the CE items (I do still have access to the golem banker but not the character bound items in the other mail message) I feel a little silly for having done that, and really hope something can be done. My ticket number is 130129-002359.
Thanks guys!
Just submitted a ticket with ref #130124-001223. Hope this can be solved. Thanks in advance.
Responses sent within a day or two of each tickets’ submittal and it appears all is well.
Hey ArenaNet! I just came back to the game from stopping after the first week of release. Enjoying it once again. But I came to notice that I was missing my Miniature Rytlock on my character. I created a new one and is making it my new main, I was putting stuff in the bank from my old main and came to see he was gone. He wasn’t in my bags or my banks. I checked all my other characters and cant find him anywhere. Could you please help me get him back? I wanted to post in here first to see if get some help before creating a ticket.
I’ve just a problem yesterday. I took out my mini Rytlock to see him. I then proceeded to teleport back to the world as I was just finishing a personal storyline quest. I looked in my inventory to bring out my mini Rytlock again but the mini itself had vanished! I did not delete anything at all, just loaded screens and it was gone. How can I get it back?
I think the team can help you. Did you contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page?

Hi everyone! I forgot about my DDE items but I just recently started getting back into Guild Wars 2 and I realized that I never got them back. As the same as everyone, I played during the day it had been released for those who pre-ordered it and I was stuck inside of Divinity’s Reach and the only way to get out of it was to create a new character but I didn’t realized that the items were single character bound.
My ticket number is 120825-005676. Looking forward to a response. Thanks!
I will forward this to the agents and see if this is something they can help with. Thanks for your patience!
We are going to rotate the map tomorrow.
These weren’t on the vendor. Fixing this.

OK I just ran it again and it did not bug.
The only difference I did is that I did not keep clicking on the sickened Quaqaan at the end.
First time I ran it, I kept clicking on him during the dialog.
Second time I just clicked on him and waited for him to give his speech and then transform.
Hope that helps you guys.
Thank you for the additional details! I’ve added this information to our bug report.
Biggest thing to take away – the format is moving from 8 teams to 2 teams. Other changes will also be coming. Watch for the blog.
Another suggestion: Your friend may wish to have you post in the Technical Support forum, where a agent with TS experience may be able to help there. But I agree with Eva, the best answer is for her to submit a ticket directly to the team.
Glad it worked out for you, Shinkuga. (Thanks for helping, guys.)
I’m Designer Hrouda, and this is my favorite thread on the forum.

That being said, we are always looking at our reward tables. I agree with you that a blue is very unsatisfying of a reward for GL and other instances. Part of our Dungeon work coming down the line is going to involve changing reward tables and whatnot, so please be patient as we work through things as fast as we can.
Thank you for the reports, everyone! We should have a potential fix for this going in with our next content patch.
Hey guys!
Just letting you know that our testing of Temple of the Silent Storm ( and 1 team vs. 1 team) has been a great success!
We’re pleased to announce that we will be extending this test another week, as it has proven to be very popular among players.
Watch for more information about this in an official blog post later this week!
I am sorry that you were surprised by this.
We’ve always communicated that transfers were being offered for free for a limited period of time, and that at some time there would be a cost in gems for transferring. We announced that changes were coming in early January and put them in effect on 28 January.
Please note that there are other, less costly options for you than the 1800 gem cost that you cited. And note that you can earn the wherewithal to accomplish the transfer in the game. I hope that things soon get settled for you, in the game world and in regards to your move, as well.
