Black Lion Chest

  • Fixed an issue with the Black Lion Chest that occasionally caused people to only receive two items instead of three. A compensation plan for those affected by this bug is in the works.

A couple of hours ago wrongful action was taken against my account in which I was no longer allowed access to it – after submitting a ticket through the support “Ask a Question” website, I received a reply within a couple of hours with great follow up and quick remedy.

I’d like to extend a heartfelt thanks to those involved in helping me solve my account issue, it is very greatly appreciated!

I don’t know where else to go with this so I’m posting it here, hopefully people with similar experiences who go through the forums looking for answers will find it good to know about my story, and that while the support ticket site seems less direct than a phone service, it works.

Wildmanviper, it was so very nice of you to post this detailed report. Folks do get a bit frustrated when they find their account closed, and who can blame them? Especially since the messaging may be a bit… alarming. “Permanent closure? But I didn’t do anything!” But the messaging, as you accurately deduced, was a general message simply noting that things were locked down (whether being read by you, the legitimate account owner or a hacker).

We’re delighted that you’re back in the game, and pleased that you have benefited from the enhanced security offered by the authorization system.

I think you’re misunderstanding. He’s not getting more people than allowed into his home instance.

A version of the Salma District physically exists on the Divinity’s Reach map, but entry into that area is normally (and intentionally) blocked by physical barriers. However, with some creative jumping it’s possible to enter that section of the map.

The question is whether or not players will get in trouble for accessing sections of the map that are normally blocked off by the map’s design. This question can apply to any map, really.

I suspect the answer is “no”, but with the caveat that we’re expected to report “flaws” in the map like this one so they can eventually be fixed.

In this case, yes – it sounds like this is a map out bug, and any screenshots or videos detailing how to reach it would be appreciated!

New Arcing Slice buff?

We were exploring at making Arcing Slice more interesting to use before the recent patch was released. At one point we added Might to the ability, but it didn’t feel good trading adrenaline (and potentially damage from traits like Berserker’s Power) for just increased damage. It looks like the skill facts were left in when we changed it back to the original state.
In the future, we’re looking at changing Arcing Slice to apply more utility and be less of a damage oriented burst ability, as the weapon has plenty of damage already and not much reason to use the burst.

The behavior is correct in that your character was killed while in combat but the team talked it over and we’re not happy with the golem going away as a result. We’ll get a change into an upcoming build so that if you’re in a golem when you DC the golem itself won’t be destroyed but will instead be left behind as though you had exited it.

I don’t see any tripwires or routes that can affect it, but talking to Trahearne immediately after talking to Mira looks like it can cause issues. Interact with Mira once, then wait about 2s for a scene to start. If you talk to Trahearne right away, it’ll prevent the scene from playing and stall the story step.

Restorations take time. There is a lot of research that is required to see if the account is eligible for restoration, and then to undertake the process altogether.

Please be patient and wait to hear back from the team.

You can help this process by not submitting duplicate tickets. That will not speed the process, in fact it will slow the team’s ability to resolve it, as they take the time to review, merged, and close the duplicate tickets.

We are not able to offer replacement of stolen guild items. Account restorations are simply that: they restore an individual account to its previous state. The ability to restore a shared feature, such as the guild bank, is completely outside the functionality of the process of restoring an individual account.

We are looking into the possibility of having such a feature in the future, but it is not something that we can offer at this time.

How about adding a new feature that only the leaders can withdaw things from the Guild Bank? Also a PIN system? I know im asking for alot of things, cause i really love this game. I want my account fixed so i can enjoy it more, but im stuck waitting. After work i wait, i stand up and do my daily chores then i wait, i cant stand this anymore. Cause i enjoy the game so much, i miss my friends…

The guild leader already controls who can and cannot withdraw from the guild bank. It’s just the matter of unchecking a box. It’s been there since launch.

I think this is the answer, TheLunaticDawn. Just as they should take good care in selecting members, officers, and co-leaders, guild leaders also should take care in giving access to the bank and should probably not give it to any- and everyone. There are controls and preventative measures to prevent this sort of abuse, and as I mentioned, we’ll look at the possibility of more guild-related features in the future.

As we mentioned in our update notes from December 14, we introduced a change that will prevent people from abusing the ability to swap skills and weapons in-between fights in a competitive game (either a free tourney or paid tourney game). This will mean that once the game starts (the countdown is done), you will be locked into your weapon sets, utility skills, elite, etc.

This change has now been activated.

We will offer paid transfers in the future, that has been stated by the development team in blog posts and other articles. However, at this time, transfers are free, and we do not have an additional mechanic to allow a paid transfer as well. You should also know that no matter whether they are paid or free, there will always been some sort of “cool down” period to prevent server hopping.

Just to clarify, because there seems to be some confusion about the recent changes: When we enabled the trial culling system that was done by changing a configuration. No new code was added to the culling system. When we disabled the trial culling system we changed the configuration back. Again, no new coded was added to the culling system. So the system in place now is exactly the system that was in place prior to the trial.

As part of an overall improvement to armor previewing we have had to temporarily disable the ability to see armors outside your class. We are working towards updating the system as whole.

We did intend to remove the armor preview temporarily in order to fix issues and improve functionality. So currently, yes, you cannot preview armors outside your own profession—this is only a temporary situation while we work on updates to this system.

We’re sorry about all the confusion in the previous threads.

We sincerely appreciate and thank you for your patience while the team works on this feature.

Fire, air and earth work as advertised.

Water has a graphical effect similar to earth, but doesn’t heal. I haven’t had a chance to test condition removal yet.

*edit- it doesn’t seem to be doing anything in water. It doesn’t even trigger my signet of restoration heal the way the other three attunements do.

*edit 2- after some more experience with it, water will go off when your health is bellow full, but it seems to trigger before fall damage is applied and will only heal the amount you were already injured and not the new falling damage.

That makes sense. They probably don’t want you using water to heal off damage from the fall itself. Would essentially make the water version “better” than all other fall traits, because it would reduce damage by more than 50% (through the fact that it would heal off part of the damage taken).

actually…. this is the best healing scenario… if u’r not full health and the fall could kill u… than with how it work now u will survive (reciving the heal before the fall dmg is calculated and so surviving the fall dmg due to your now refilled health poll)… if the heal was applied after the fall dmg than the fall will have killed u and so the after healing would have been useless (if ever hppened)…

This is the intention of why it works this way…

I bought for about 2100 gems in the store but I aint recieving my items.. Could this be fix? I have been searching for a gemcard all week and I don’t get my items wich I paid for.

This is usually due to the mail system not being able to deliver your items. Make sure to:

1. Clear out your mailbox so it is not full
2. Even if not full, try deleting at least one mail and see if any of your items show up

Just wanted to jump in and say that I’m reading this thread and taking it all in. Keep it civil (don’t get yourselves banned! ) and let those ideas flow.

I know some of you are upset with the change, but really, this is something we were planning for a while. WE MAY NOT LOCK DOWN utilities down the road, so that you can still have some adjustment when out of combat, but at the same time, we do not think weapon swapping mid-match is good for the overall health of the game. Just wanted to remind you we are here, and I am watching the forums, and your ideas are being heard.

Keep it constructive (and really, overall you guys are doing a FANTASTIC JOB OF THIS!), and carry on!

@Arimik, Generally aesthetic as far as I know. Like texture maps applying themselves in places they shouldn’t be, on armors you’re not previewing. As well as lots of clipping of course. I liked being able to see them too, but I can understand why that decision was made. If you have ideas or features you’d like to see I’d say post em on the suggestion forum. I can’t promise it would be implemented, but the more people who say they want something the better!

Most likely what will happen is they will give the guy a 72 hour suspension and you will not get your gold back. It has been my experience in the past that Anet does little, if anything, to discourage this type of behavior.

We spent a great deal of time and resources to develop a Trading Post and spend it still, ensuring that the system works smoothly. The TP is a very effective means of discouraging scamming. It flat out prevents it! If players choose to go outside the system, please do not point to inadequacy on the part of ArenaNet, for that would be both inaccurate and unfair. Scamming is fully preventable using the robustly developed system offered within the game.

A user has replied to an automated PM 121127-000574 Unresolved 11/27/2012

these are all tickets of separate incidents involving the forums. Does arenanet not currently provide support to forum issues, or is it all handled by the non anet moderators themselves? who do they answer to and why will they or arena net not respond to the tickets opened?

For issues, problems, suggestions, or other topics relating to the Guild Wars 2 Forums, please address your concerns to Forums@Arena.Net. I would highly suggest you not submit multiple tickets. If you wish to complain about something, you can update an existing ticket, but submitting four seems excessive.

I took out a ticket and this is my number: 121217-001098 but if theres anyone who got thier account back or can help me id appreciate it.

Players cannot assist you with retrieving your account. You did exactly the right thing to submit that ticket today, and I feel sure you will find it will be resolved within a few days.
