I routinely PUG explorable dungeon paths in the game, and often take a back seat to someone else who is the leader (I don’t rep my ArenaNet tags so I can remain hidden) to get a better sense to what the meta is, and so that I can play the game from the true perspective of a PUG. I don’t always complete the paths with bugs, but I’d say 70% of my PUG groups finish dungeons.
We have a lot of work to do on our bosses and reward systems. We’re actively working on them right now by playing through with our Live characters here at the office, and sifting through feedback.
Hi evthillo, you could completely rule out the sound coming from the OS or other software by opening the Sound Options in-game, and moving the Master Volume slider completely to the left. I would be interested in knowing if the sound persists.
private message me about the exact details to accomplish this, and hopefulyl we can get a fix in and going for it.
it’s tied to the daily achievement system, which applies to all characters. This was an issue when we had our tokens soulbound, but now that they are account bound we don’t feel we need to offer the bonus first-run tokens to every character on an account.
It’s not an exploit to skip Kholer. He’s a bonus boss that unlocks a central waypoint, drops loot, and also gives a chest.
People skip him because:
A) He’s hard if you don’t know what you are doing, and don’t communicate enough.
2) Our changes to our token rewards moved the tokens out of his unlocked chest, so people don’t feel they have to fight him to maximize gains
III) Our dropped loot is abysmal, so you’re not finding anything of value.
Solutions:
A) He’s supposed to be hard, it’s explorable mode. We should aspire all our bosses across all difficulties to be of similar difficulty.
2 and III) We are currently re-working and changing our loot for dungeons. I had previously hoped that it would be in for the next patch, but it requires a lot of tuning and testing, so it might take another patch.
I am sorry that I did not see this issue earlier!
I asked the team about this, and the codes should work (if they were not previously used). Could you kindly submit a Support ticket by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. The team will be able to assist you.

We are still investigating the lines that appear in enclosed areas, but they have to do with AMD/ATI graphics cards, and appear in many places under Windows, as well.
The Frog smiles upon us today!
Thank you for clarifying this, Gaile Gray!
You’re very welcome. They are both cool newsletter — GW and GW2 — and I don’t want anyone to miss them.
As a side note, I would note some irony/amusement in that they are sending these ads to both valid/open accounts and to customers who they have banned (either wrongfully or rightfully).
Oh dear. That doesn’t seem quite right, but I am not sure how to prevent it. I’ll talk to the newsletter person about that.

Fixed in the 10/22 update.
I had gotten this one too. It linked to https://www.guildwars2.com/en/events/halloween-2012/?utm_source=newsletter_gw2&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=email_
Can we please get a quick confirmation whether or not it is legit, so we users don’t need to worry about it potentially having malware?
That came from us. You can tell because the active link — not the one you see, but the one that is actually embedded into the link — is guildwars2.com. Now, if you saw guildwars2.com but when you moused over it was not guildwars2.com, I’d be worried.
It’s good to be cautious and even suspicious about emails. One trick I learned was not to click the live link, but to right click and copy it, and examine it in notepad and if it legitimately links to the site I expect, then insert the link into the browser “by hand.”

I don’t know that that was a phishing attempt. We did send out a Halloween newsletter for both games.
Can you provide me with the “phishy-looking” details of that email?

For anyone who has experienced this issue, I hope that you have tried to log in recently. If you’re still unable to join the game, and if you did not sell or buy gold or use a third-party program, then by all means submit a ticket to Support. It’s very unusual for tickets to take more than a day or so to get resolved, unless there’s something unusual, like an account dispute.
I just spoke with an agent last night, and he told me a lot of details about a particular case where two people were claiming that they owned the account. In those cases, it’s going to take time to get the proofs of ownership, assess them, and make a determination. Sadly, in a few cases, it’s impossible to determine the real owner and those accounts will be terminated and no one will be given access. (This is yet another argument against account sharing or purchasing a used account — lot’s of people are burned in those situations!)

At this time, we have decided not to have separate server forums. If this changes in the future, we’ll be sure to make an announcement. Thanks for the request!
We’ll pass it on – thanks!
Any discussion about a Guild Wars 2 expansion is for the future. Thanks!
Everyone should always be extremely careful when opening any email, ensuring it’s sent from who it appears to be. Thanks for the report, Phaze Delta One.
Hello everybody,
this is indeed not a new topic. Please refer, if you haven´t, to the existing threads for further information.
Thanks for your feedback, though.

Hello everybody,
thanks for your concern and your feedback. This situation is being dealt with at the moment.
Hello everybody,
as this conversation has derailed it will be locked. Your concern is appreciated though.
Also, just to remind you, users are from all over the place and yes, indeed, not everybody speaks English as a first language. Be nice to everyone, stay on topic, help us keep these forums a nice and welcoming place.
Hello,
Thanks for your feedback.
We are not able to transfer characters between accounts. I do not think that is a feature we will offer in the future.
This is one of the reasons that we strongly discourage and the User Agreement actually disallows account sharing. If it’s not disputed ownership, it’s the awkward situation where two people want the same account for non-adversarial reasons.
I suggest that your brother purchase his own account and level up another character. Clearly he has the skills to do so.

I can still log-in from this pc without that authorize log in mail…
My IP-adress has changed since monday. (just checked)Am I missing something?
Depending on how much your IP changes, we might still consider it to be the same “location.” Chances are that’s what’s happened here.
Yes, our servers are secure. Please read this article for details of how this happened.

I notice that this ticket was answered earlier today, but here are some details on this:
- Someone bought a code and then resold it. The reseller had purchased using a fraudulent credit card, so the code was disabled.
- That means your brother’s account — I believe this issue affected only his account, right? — was disabled, by necessity.
- You should seek a full refund from the person or company who sold you the code.
- You may purchase a code from a legitimate source. See buy.guildwars2.com to purchase directly from us or through the authorized retailer list.
- When you get the new code, you can add it to your brother’s existing (but currently closed) account. If you have any difficulty, please contact Support and they will help you and your brother get the code on the existing account. (I do think it will be possible for you to do that yourselves, since you have the account details and can simply input the code.)

This is simply a precautionary measure; since, as you stated, you changed your password before the blacklist came into effect, there is a chance that it is already on the blacklist as a known vulnerable password. In this particular case, that sounds exceedingly unlikely, since you used what seems like a strong password selection method.
Here’s the wrinkle: we can’t see your password (which is good for everyone). We have no way to find out how long it is, how complex it is, or anything else about it. All we know is the last date and time at which you changed your password.
This message simply checks that date/time, and compares it to the effective date of the password blacklist. If your last password change was prior to blacklisting coming into effect, you might see this message.
It’s only a suggestion, but if you have any concerns whatsoever about your password, we recommend changing it to be safe. The blacklist will ensure that nobody else knows that password (assuming you don’t use it anywhere else on the internet/etc.).
I suggest that you all move again, to a less-populated world. I know it’s a bit of a bother, but if you do that, you may have enough “breathing room” on capacity to add other friends in the future. World transfers are free at the present time, and you can do one every 24 hours.
I also agree that making a transfer attempt during a period in the day when the activity is lower might be worthwhile.

Thanks for the discussion, thoughts, and feedback everyone, but it’s time for this thread to close.
To say the dungeons will be the SAME 6 months from now isn’t going to hold up either. We’re going to be doing lots of updates to dungeons, changing things that didn’t work out, and introducing new features as we find the time/tech to implement them. Our hope is that dungeons will stay nice and fresh for a long time
I want to make sure that folks see this post and that they read Mike Lewis’ post about this subject.

Hi Glabb.
Thanks for your feedback, which will be passed on to the team. As we have already repeatedly stated, we are committed to fight botters and the team is dealing with it. The best thing players can do is continue to report every incident of suspected botting behavior they witness using the in-game ticketing system.
Thanks for the reports and your patience as it´s greatly appreciated.
Hi Glabb
The forums are not the best place to let us know about this. We are encouraging the players that see episodes of hacking/exploiting to send a report to the following email address, exploits@arena.net, where the issue will be looked into by the security team.
Thank you very much.
I’m going to have to respectfully disagree. I’m not using a “super-tweaked build” or “l33t strats”. When I test, I use a character of the same level as the story step, with equal-level blue armor, no insignias or traits, and no utility skills that I wouldn’t have access to yet. My common test char is a thief that’s based on my “live” character, that’s designed to fight veterans and complete skill challenges with minimal help. As I’ve stated, I also looked at this story step with both an elementalist and an engineer, neither of which are classes I play very often, so I know I wasn’t using advanced tactics with them. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect players to adjust their traits/weapons if they find a story step is too challenging.

Perfect, as it seems that the question has been answered, we proceed to close the thread.
Thanks for the collaboration!!
