I’m not sure what to tell you. I just completed the story step as both a warrior and an engineer to make sure I wasn’t relying on specific class skills. (I usually play a thief.) Zott can take 2 fireballs before he’s downed, making sure he’s in front of the portal when the harpy appears is key. With warrior, I just got close and meleed the harpy to deathwhile Zott tanked (and eventually he went down with the harpy at 10% health.) With engineer, I dropped both of my turrets (rifle and rocket) and shot the harpy until Zott was defeated, then watched for the fireball and evaded out of it. Even with a direct hit, my engineer still had about 20% of his health.

There really isn’t a better place to put this, is there? ^^;

Of your two examples, I would say the first is more helpful. In the past, we’ve occasionally had issues with screenshots not going through with bug reports, so any extra details you can provide in the body of the report is helpful.

As always, providing information here on the forums is helpful as well. I hope this answers your question!

As already explained by our security coordinator, Mike, we are very commited to fight botters and the only way the community can effectively help us is by using the in-game reporting tools. On the other matter, free transfers are still on the air so you can keep on checking periodically the servers in a lower activity hour to jump back to Sanctum.

I think it’s close enough in time that this post may be relevant. There was a brief glitch last week that did cause some accounts to be blocked in error. The situation was reversed in a matter of hours and the accounts were reinstated. That may be why TigerBite was back in the game without a response to his/her ticket. (In other words, the situation was reversed before the ticket was acted upon.)

If you were blocked last Friday, October 12, then that post could apply to you, and you should be back in the game. But if you were blocked on another day, you will need to file a ticket and then Support can review your particular situation and attend to it.

You can certainly contact Customer Support for this although it is not sure that they will be able to restore your gear or the character as the mistake, although unfortunate, has not been provoked by a bug or an in-game error.

I agree that it would be a huge disappointment for someone to contribute a lot of time, effort, and game expertise and then get replaced by another non-contributory player at the last minute. And based on other things I’ve learned, I really am not sure that is possible if things are working as designed.

But let me confess I don’t know exactly how this works as opposed to how it should work, and I’ll see if I can find out more soon.

Sentinel — here’s the bit about the whole “human response” thing. You’re not getting automatic responses. I mean, a real person is reviewing your ticket and sending you the best response possible. If it sounds overly formal, it’s because we’re trying to give you really clear info and that means that the answer can sound pretty alike (because the info they need to relay is similar for a lot of people).

Bottom line: We hate (hate!) to see legitimate players get caught up in an unjustified suspension or termination and we’ll try very hard to right any wrongs!

Not to make a sweeping statement, but generally attempts to hack an account come from a distant location, not next door, in the next town, or even across the state. A player from the UK had auth requests from England, Wales, and Scotland. They were all ok — all his log-in attempts — but his ISP was using a broad list of IP addresses.

I’m not a security specialist, but I would be far more worried about a log-in attempt from China (the most common location from which compromise attempts are made) than I would be from one a few hundred miles away.

However, if you are at all uncomfortable with the access attempt, decline and restart the log-in attempt and see what happens.

If you were not botting or using any third-party program, you are welcome to update your ticket and appeal . Yes, the blocks generally are placed with certainty, but they are placed by human beings, and none of us are infallible.

Please know that the vast majority of those who breach the User Agreement plead innocence. They use a third-party program — usually to automate play (like afk “farming” while they’re asleep) — and they think we cannot see it, or they think we won’t have the data to block them, or they think that we’ll let them have “another chance.” But if it looks like a bot, and it smells like a bot, and the data proves it’s a bot…

Again, human errors are possible, and you are welcome to appeal. But please be aware that appeals take time, and please be patient as this undergoes the numerous reviews that are required.

This particular sub-forum isn’t a conversation/chat forum. It’s a forum designed to ask and receive answers about various account issues. So yes, many threads are locked as soon as the answer is provided. It’s a housekeeping measure, an organizational decision, and not a means to “muzzle discussion.” Because, in fact, there are many other sub-forums for discussion, but this one is purpose-built for issue discovery and resolution.

Your thread does not contain a 12-digit ticket number. Therefore, I am working “in the dark” in providing an answer.

The observation about the “forgot your password” element is helpful and I can look into that tomorrow.

You do not need to have the serial code to get help. But incidentally, yes, the serial code is flagged with a message that says that one should retain the code in case one needs support in the future.

The message that you received from our agent seems to point to a registration issue. And they will continue to work with you until it is resolved. if indeed you still need help. If you have not received a resolution in three days, please post in our “Tickets for Review” with your 12-digit incident/ticket number and we’ll take another look. It seems that this is solved, but if not, I feel sure you’ll have an answer well before that time.

I just wanted to clarify a couple of things regarding Costume Brawl and some concerns we’ve seen:

  • It may be called ‘Costume Brawl’, but it’s not like the Costume Brawl in the original Guild Wars.
  • While it does take advantage of Gem Store related items, players will still be able to participate in Costume Brawl even without spending gems.

As a teaser: think Boxing Gloves, but taken up a few more notches.
