Kudos to you man, i wonder how long until the post gets removed and we all get banned for agreeing with it, not long I bet.
Remember when we could make viable builds in GW1?
2v2 would make me consider reinstalling after being away for so long.
I’ve gone back to it dude.
Mostly just doing JQ and RA, can find me as Air Rage if you wanna hang.
I miss JQ.
In terms of a different MMO you might want to have a look at the Neverwinter that’s coming out soon (F2P) It’s developed by the guys who made City of Heroes which I thought was awesome.
In terms of single player RPGs:
Kotor 1 & 2 (Screw the MMO)
Beneath a Steel Sky
Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2
Fallout 1 & 2 (Screw the recent ones)
Since I’ve ditched GW2 I’ve been having a lot of fun with modding L4D2.
No. No. No. No. No. No.
Sorry for the spam, I had to have at least 15 characters to post.
Hmm… maybe I’ll give the reinstall a miss then.
Thanks for the hasty reply guys, I know there’s been a few adjustments to tPVP would you say it’s any improvement?
Hey guys, I uninstalled GW2 a while ago due to the vacant pvp aspect.
I’m here to ask current PVP players if anything substantial has been changed and is it worth installing again?
Are the classes still bound to one role? (bunker and roamer)
Is there still massive class imba?
Is there any reward system besides aesthetics?
Does the CTF thing in the new map make Conquest less of a drag?
The lack of game modes and maps was a major issue for me. So, anybody?
I’ll be happy when they stop giving us the finger and bring improvements such as class variety, maps and game modes.
Yeah… because GW2 is totally a PvP based game.
I could not agree more OP.
My point still stands. It took them 4+ years to develop GW2? And all they had to show for it was 4 maps and 1 game mode?
And now 6 months out of release we have 5 maps, 1 role for some classes to role, 1 meta, serious class imba, 1 game mode, 8v8, being able to change character mid tournament game.
And how many updates has Pve and zerg v zerg had? Too many.
Simple answer is because Anet doesn’t care about the PvP community.
I’d advise jumping to WoW or any other MMO that allows you to 1v1.
I agree with Virgil.
8v8 is still here, god knows why. Class imba, One build for most classes, 5 maps and 1 mode of play after 4 years in dev and 6 months of release?
They stated over the development period they want it to be an e-sport, but ignoring the PvP community isn’t getting them anywhere.
Self-bump.
Just happened again, had to reboot system to rectify issue. Mid-tournament as well. Awesome.
Hey everyone, I’m encountering a strange issue with my mouse and keyboard.
My mouse is a Razer Naga the one with the keypad for the thumb in case you don’t know.
When I’m in game using my skills, something odd occurs. My escape key no longer cancels the current target selected it instead alt+tabs the game out and opens the start menu. Once this begins to happen my keyboard thinks I constantly have shift held down, so whenever I click a skill or item it links it straight to chat, the other issue is that my middle click will stop responding and to rectify the issue I have to alt+tab out of the game and back in.
It only happens when I’m playing GW2, it’s never occurred when I am playing any other game. And I’ve tried different mice and keyboards and the problem persists. The only thing I can think of being the problem is the game itself somehow. :S
Has anyone else had a similar issue? And yes I have the latest drivers for my keyboard and mouse.
When will new game modes be brought in sPVP and tPVP?
I think the flag bearer should get a buff once carrying it. I can just imagine carriers getting snared and downed in seconds.
I guess A-Net would have to care about their PVP community first to even think about adding any new features.
I bet sPVP will be the last thing they implement a proper update to.
In terms of features we’ve wanted since launch.
Because PvE is where the majority of players stay atm, of course their focus will be on PvE
I understand that the majority of the playerbase is PVE oriented, but if they wish to maximize the amount of people playing to their game, they have to appeal to the large PVP community as well that is available to them. By focusing solely on PVE and hardly ever on PVP they’ll have a minimum amount of players. If they want the game to be a real e-sport they need to make PVP desirable to players, if they make little to no improvements to the PVP, it’ll be left dead and will never be taken seriously as a candidate for e-sports.
I bet sPVP will be the last thing they implement a proper update to.
In terms of features we’ve wanted since launch.
My main thing is…and it’s surprising, it’s like the dev’s just don’t care. The lack of communication, the lack of support, the lack of anything fun, the lack of following what the playerbase wants. It’s as if they see and know the game is sinking but are unwilling or unable to do what is needed to keep the game afloat.
This is 2013…how long ago did they invent public polls online…a place where the masses can vote, something would be better than just assuming that two or three individuals at some office building magically know what’s best for the game they expect people to want to play.
Here’s the thing…fixing mistakes is easy — but admitting a mistake was made is hard. No one is mad because of the mistakes that were made, but they are mad that there was never an admission or even an attempt to fix what was broken … not to mention a complete lack of communication.
That’s what makes it so much more annoying, as if they know our woes but disregard them completely.
I thought this was a forum for GW2, not CoD. “omg 1v1 no scope you all time n00bz, no mom i’m playin gamez i dnt wana go skool!”
You will have some news when it is ready, do not create false hope for people : ]]
I’ll come back to GW2. When it’s ready.
Might as well bail and pull the trigger now dude instead of dragging it out.
I’ve lost total faith that they’ll do anything worthwhile to PVP soon. Maybe in like a year or something.
I’ve had this problem since launch.
I remember having it in GW1.
Please, all of you take a step back and ask yourselves this question: Have you ever been in a development team for a game this size?
Anet has not only PVP to contend with, but PVE. And both are really complex beasts. Coding a product this huge isn’t a walk in a park, I’m sure you’re all smart enough to at least assume that. They can’t just say, “Hey, let’s just do it!” No, everything has to be weighted properly to ensure the players have the best experience they’ll have.
Just be patient with things for once. It’s quality over quantity. What a bunch of entitled children.
I think waiting 4+ years for the game to be developed and 5 months of sterile sPVP after launch is being more than patient.
I can’t blame anyone in here for the pessimistic attitude towards this “update”. My biggest concern is getting past the things he listed so some new content can actually be enjoyed, you know like maybe a DIFFERENT GAME MODE?
you know they cant do everything at once right? and if they are working on these few features, they cant make new modes at the same time… just be patient and wait until one thing is done, then ask another one
I think waiting 4+ years for the game to be developed and 5 months of sterile sPVP after launch is being more than patient.
Instead of deleting my post, why don’t you give your players what they want instead of sweeping us under a rug like we don’t matter?
GW1 is proving to be much better than GW2 in every aspect atm.
I’m not calling you a liar, but are you able to provide evidence to verify such a statement?
Moa was OP now it is fair.
Being locked out of my skills for a while is enough for an elite.
What do you want next? Mesmers to be able to be Dhumm and ban people out of the blue for downing them?
The problem is not as much at the top, as it is at the bottom. sPvP aren’t losing players because the top players are leaving, as much it’s losing players because there aren’t any new players coming into it.
For the love of everything that is good; remove 8v8 from sPvP, and make a proper match up system for casual 5v5. There is nothing structured about 8v8. It’s a zerg fest, and for no good reason. All it does is give new players a false impression of what sPvP is like. Then, make ladder, matchmaking, and spectator mode. And then work on making sPvP, not only interesting to play, but also interesting to watch. Make people love sPvP, even if they don’t like playing it. Celebrate the top tPvP players and promote them, so new sPvP players have someone they can look up to, and aspire to become as good as.
You should work for Anet in the PVP development team. Once they form one.
As of today I am done with GW2.
PvE is meh, I’ve always been a PVP player in GW1 and after tolerating this sham of a PVP experience, I’m refusing to log in-game until changes are made, I’ll just stick to the forums until I hear the word of new pvp modes.
If an improvement isn’t made by Feb/March I think that’ll be the final straw for a lot of people, well for me anyhow I’ve been a huge fan of GW since 05 but this is just unacceptable. Get some serious PVP updates PVE has had enough of them for now.
There’s balance and then there is over-correction.
I’d like a nerf on the stealth duration but I don’t want to remove it entirely from the thieves arsenal.
Just don’t get a Razer Naga, you’ll end up what I did and bind everything to the thumb pad and never press the function keys or 4-0. Well, for my ele I did anyhow.
Hey everyone!
I’m sorry if this topic is in the wrong section but I had no idea where to put it here as I guess it’s relatable to the auction house.
A while ago I saw a female warrior or guardian (unsure of prof) that looked pretty much exactly like Zero-suit samus, anybody got any idea what armor it could be in game?
WvW = World vs World.
WvW is massive server vs server combat. The main objective of this game mode is to dominate the landscape by capturing all available bases and supply depots by constructing siege weapons to tear down the walls and gates. Supply is required to construct upgrades on buildings and to build siege weapons, supply can be obtained from supply depots and keeps.
sPVP = Structured Player vs Player
sPVP is more arena based combat with 8v8 or 5v5 capturing points within a level and earning the score limit (500) first or having the most points when the time limit runs out. Elementalist is probably one of the easier classes for starting out in my opinion mostly because there aren’t very new concepts to learn that can be overwhelming to a player like for instance with a Mesmer or Engi.
Message me if you need more info.
I agree with all of the above.
You’re on the precipice of losing your PVP community Jon.
This update best bring a change to sPVP, I’m sorry if I come across as harsh, but after 5 months of sterile PVP you can understand our indignation.
If the next update doesn’t bring some sort of variation to sPVP then I might bolt back to GW1 and spend another 6 years on that.
I’d enjoy the game if there was some variation in sPVP. A lot of us are tired of just capping and killing one or two people in between. These changes need to be made soon, I’m getting tired of this.
Burst and stealth have both got to addressed.
I’m tired of getting downed in half a second by a ridiculous burst thief, even If I get the off chance to avoid the initial attack I have to prance around watching him come in and out of stealth every 2 seconds.
I agree with the desire for a variety in PVP.
I remember there being JQ, FA, AB RA in GW1, I would like more variety in PVP modes instead of just capturing points. I think there should be two varieties of PVP, one which is mostly objective based like FA, JQ etc, and the other being for the guys who like arena type of fighting.
