I have Mendng (2 conditions + 1 random boon), SoS (all conditions), SoR (all Conditions).

During Zerg fighting I can initiate with SoR > Charge > pop some AoEs (GS / Axes) > Balanced Stance and out > SoS to wipe conditions > Mending if I need it

Long zerg fights last for more than 48s in which case I do get to use it a second time.

It’s true that 5s is only a short span of time, but during those 5s I feel like a God of War ^^

Like skippy wrote, you nemesis is running with Lyssa runes (you can get them cheap from Karma vendor, then replace them piece-by-piece with the stats you really want Also he has 25 Stacks of Bloodlust up and is using Buffood.

Mending – FGJ / SoS / BS – SoR

2x Axes with Bloodlust means you hit 25 stacks faster. Also Axe-Whirl is good in WvW Zergfights or against stealthed enemies.

With Empowered I only get 5s of all buffs. Still Lyssa rocks – Condition removal + extra dmg, it’s the ultimate ohh-ccrap button

Movement Specialist is important for WvW. Signet Mastery is important for Lyssa.

If you want very hard to kill you can go completely PVT. Say if you’re playing Hammer + Mace/Mace, you want to cc the enemy zerg but not die quickly, then maximum toughness and vitality will help you. Run with 10/0/30/30/0 or something like that

In WvW I run with Mending, I also have Lyssa and Signet of Stamina, don’t have Restorative Strength.

I do tend to rack up alot of conditions during zerg skirmishes and the extra Condition Removal does not go amiss. Has saved me plenty of times, where an extra 3k heal wouldn’t have done as much for me.

I’ve been running 20/25/0/10/15 for dungeons/CoF1 for a while now. Switch to 20/20/0/10/20 for WvW.

Very durable while still dishing out considerable dmg. Obv you wanna keep Bloodlust stacks at 25, after that you faceroll in zergs or solo.

i have played zerk warrior, support warrior, condition warrior… i even have an 80 necro ill mention just for reference. I have played all of these styles in just about any group configuration that i can imagine and the one thing that i’ve learned? if your build is decent, and you play to your build, then not only are you “viable” but you can be quite an asset.

It’s ridiculous how narrow-sighted people get when it comes to choice of build/equip. Sure there are popular established builds that work well in certain scenarios, however this does not automatically rule out all other builds.

Example: Running full zerk in CoF 4Warr/1Mezm – tried it, died a bunch, as did the other Warriors. Also tried running with some Knight’s in there, suddenly don’t die much at all. Yet still it’s /gearcheck upon recruitment to make sure everybody’s running full zerk?

AC: I turn up with a rifle and get flamed because melee has higher dps. kitten? I currently play GS, but tbh I don’t see it as being all that superior to rifle. My time firing on target was higher than when I’m melee, dodging and whirling about and running after the boss. Auto-attack, Volley & Killshot hit every time, 100B doesn’t. With Rifle I often managed to reach dungeon-endboss without dieing (and losing 25 Bloodlust), with GS – less so.

You’re running full zerk gear with Dolyak Runes? Doesn’t make sense imo. 115 Toughness and 50 Vitality is negligble. You’ll get similar stats just by wearing a Soldier’s chest-piece…
There’s Runes that complement a full zerk build better.

I’ve also been running this exact build for a while now. Also mixing Knight’s/Zerk +Lyssa. GS with Fire Sigil.
I have dual axes as offhand for fast Bloodlust stacks, Omnom-healing (Whirling Axes), Axe-cyclone, chop and Eviscerate are also nice. Switch to rifle situationally.

Saw this in another thread, sounds good:

Your basic damage rotation should be: Hundred Blades → Whirlwind → weapon-swap mid-way to interrupt → Cyclone Axe → Eviscerate → Chop chop → Hundred Blades → Whirlwind → Bladetrail → Rush → weapon-swap → Cyclone Axe → Eviscerate

I don’t see how using your Adrenalin is bad, it’s back up to full in no time. Esp. with Whirling Axe. If you’re eating Omnom you’re also gaining health on all those crits.

I don’t like Heightened Focus tbh, there’s better Discipline traits and it’s not difficult to get to 70% crit (incl. fury) without it.

Tested just now, Elite + Lyssa = 5s boons in WvW. 15s = trollin’?

I’m running 20/20/0/10/20 in WvW with Lyssa runes. Utility: Mending, FGJ, SoS, Stability, SoR.

Weapons I run GS[Fire]/Axes mostly, sometimes GS/Rifle. I build Bloodlust stacks to 25 when possible.

I switch between Knight’s and Berserker’s trinkets depending on the group I’m running with.

Opportunist w/o Leg Specialist – You only have one immobilize.
Lyssa goes well with Empowered trait.
If this is for any PvP/WvW situation, you want Stronger Bowstrings.
Axe Mastery or Dual Wielding from Strength line is recommended for ann Axe build.

Usually you work out what you want to do before creating the build, not making a build and trying to figure out what it does xD

If you switch Chest/Legs/Head to Knight’s gear, you will gain 162 Precision. That’s as much as 4 Signets * 40 Precision while still maintaining a high amount of Toughness.

Now you can swap some of those signets our for utilities that offer you and your team more. FGJ/SIO/OMM being three of the more obvious, but also Banners. HS/Mending are both great alternatives to Signet of Healing.

As for the Discipline trait line, I prefer the lower Signet CD to Heightened Focus. More uptime on Fury is worth 9% crit if you’re already over 50% baseline crit%.
Another thing regarding your build (I know you dont wanna change it but feedback can’t harm you I’d go 20/30/0/0/20 or 20/20/0/0/30 for alot more damage while losing some Health (Great Fortitude)

Wait so Fire shares the same CD as Energy and Hydromancy? So if Fire procs before the switch it won’t trigger?

Also, I was thinking of getting Sword [Energy] / WH [Hydro] – guessing this won’t work as both are “on weapon swap”?

For leveling you’ll probably be faster running GS with rifle as a backup. I too enjoy playing with the rifle main, however that’s at level 80. While it’s by no means a weak weapon, you’re probably going to get along faster by going GS main for leveling.

I have Bloodlust on both Sword & Warhorn for quick 25 stacks. Fire on GS & Rifle.

For WvW, Sw/WH can also have Energy/Hydromancy if you’re using that set to stay mobile

I hope ya’ll dont mind, but in WvW when I see a banner I almost ALWAYS pick it up and use 1-2 of the buffs for the group then drop it again. Idk if this is the right thing to do (I’m an engi) but no one has yelled at me yet

Like I said, that’s great! The banner doesn’t have an internal CD. If everybody did this, more people could profit from the banner’s effects.

Looks like a solid build Though perhaps Mobile Strikes would be better thann Sweet Revenge for WvW.

In WvW you will be using Longbow for siege? Stronger Bowstrings is a good trait in Tactics and alternatively you can use Leg Specialist as you have two immobilizes (Food for thoughts) I’d probably move 10 points from Discipline to Tactic if I was to do that.

Sigils: Have one set of 2x Bloodlust so you can hit 25 stacks quickly. You can have an alternate set to switch to. Perhaps stacking Precision would suit you more as you’re a little on the low-side.
With 2x dual-wield you could use 2 “on weapon swap” and two damage Sigils (Fire / Force)

There’s only so much you can test on a training dummy in PvP-land. In the Real World vWvW you gotta pay gold to experiment with equipment/runes/sigils. Asking for help or reading up what experiences others have made before you not only gives you new perspectives but prevents costly errors.

Switching armor/weapons/traits/utilities to match the group/encounter should be applicable to all classes. I guess Warrior has more weapons to chose from, but depending on your Traits your not always going to have the best improvements for those weapons. Also, not everybody has every weapon as an exotic (Knight’s/Berserker’s) with good Sigils.

For the runes, take a look at much cheaper but equaly effective Ruby Orbs (+12% crit dmg).

You will need to buy 6 runes, one for each slot.

While warrior can fill many roles in a party, we’re best suited to high dps with some support and good survivability.

As far as I can tell, the consesus is Fire. Put Force on the Offhhand.

You want ranged/ranged but tank? That doesnt fit together. Tank uses melee weapons such as: Sword/Shield Ace/Mace

In order to tank you need to stay close range to the boss. Is this even for dungeons? world-PvE?

Vigorous Return remains a crap Trait imo. Perhaps it would be better not to die quite so much? Turtle’s Defence (II) and Defy Pain (XI) being the obvious choices here as opose to slightly better raise and some retaliation (not deflection) of damage before going down.

Bull’s Rush both as mobility and cc on a 60% lower CD than Fear Me – would seem intuitive to use when charging into a zerg or getting “away from sticky chasers”.

dquaf? Aside from the fact that I can’t AoE trashmobs as well as say GS or Axe, with a rifle my damage-output is hard to match. I’m not spending much time dodging or running after the boss in order to hit him, I can easily kite and continue to attack, constantly firing on the boss means I have a high DPS. Range also enables me to wear more berserker gear than if I was melee.

I’m sure gc rifle isn’t well suited to high-level Fractals and some dungeons, however not because damage is too low but rather because of lack of AoE & group utility.

I’ve been running ranged because that’s my WvW build and I won’t respec for my daily AC runs. AC is prolly the easiest dungeon and I recon I have it down quite well by now. I too get questioned for being a Warrior with Ranged primary, however I’m sure that I run a high DPS so I don’t see why that should matter…

What’s this new Power/Toughness/Crit.Dmg gear and where can I get it?

Against raw damage, extra toughness (dmg mitigation) will increase your lifespan more than extra vitality (HP). Against Condition damage, toughness is of no use, increased vitality will let you survive longer (as you have more HP to burn).

Vitality is nice, but if it’s a choice between Soldier’s (Pwr/Vit/Tough) and Knight’s (Pow/Prcs/Tough), to many Builds Precision is more important than Vitality.

1) Afaik all classes are fun in WvW? Valuable for what? Good front-line fighter/CCer, decent ranged sniper, got buffs/heals.
2) Please link the spec. Dual Mace is great if you wanna CC the enemy.
3) Again, depends on what you wanna do. Stun? Heal? DPS?
4) Again, depends on what you wanna do. Zerker if you go glass, otherwise knight’s.
5) I hate mesmers, Confusion and Shatter is a biotch.

Sword/WH offhand for mobility. Rifle build is centered on max damage by decreasing Killshot CD.

Use a mix of Knight’s and Berserker’s gear.

Aside from the fact that the damage increase from Strength VI will count towards your burst, you’re also getting more damage on 1 or 2 bars, so while doing normal attacks/combos. Damage on Powerful Banners is ridiculously low either way.

SIO isn’t alot of condition removal. There’s Signet of Stamina which cures all conditions (but doesn’t get you out of Knockdown which is a killer). Balanced Stance gets you out of the KD/stun but you can’t get rid of bleeds/poison/burning with that.

Give it a try with just SIO, if you need more than consider switching to Soldier Runes to provide your whole party with CD removal

Arms III and V are both good (better than VI). If GS is your main weapon, either should be better than VII.

I’d choose Tactics VI over V.

Arcing Slice should instagib anybody on the map that isn’t on my team.

During open-world PvE, every area has a level cap. While in this area your level cannot exceed the cap. This phenomenon also occurs during instances. Your character’s stats are lowered to the cap-level’s – equipment and traitpoints remain the same.

In WvW or PvP your level is raised to 80 (if you are not yet), however in WvW your equipment is still of a lower level.

I’d use Arms XI instead of XII because the Quickness won’t be very useful in long boss fights, whereas more adrenalin is useful to your build.

Your utilities lack Condition Removal. You could run with Shouts (FGJ + SIO) and as runes use Soldier Runes (6/6) to remove conditions for your party. Then you could have any Banner and for Elite also use Warbanner.

Or you can drop the banners, use Tactics IV instead of V for increased LB Range. Then run with FGJ+SIO+Balanced Stance (+SoR).

Here’s how I spend my time at 80: Run 3 paths AC (for cash). Do Daily quest (for jokes, pretty much just have to gather. The rest happens automatically). If I can, buy mats to craft a new item (armor, weapon, jewlery) or buy some runes/sigils. Spend rest of time in WvW. If you haven’t gone yet, do give it a try. Once you get the hang of things it’s alot of fun fighting together with your server against other players, capturing and holding objectives

Obviously if you’re into PvE you can run other dungeons or FotM for ascended rings etc.

Some people also spend their time farming open-world PvE (mostly in Cursed Shore I believe) or gathering T6 mats.
