ajkhfalggahlg >w< And she’s now an Amazon. That’s even better than my original idea.
I just went there. : / Anet said we’d see our personal nemesis, at this point. I don’t see her.
No. This is one of our few saving graces as a class. Deal with it. Really, it’s not hard to kill the pet. Even the AI, in PVE is able to do it. xD Sorry, I’m just really not in the mood to see another nerf towards Ranger, when there is not much that calls for it. Do you know how long we have to wait for us to even call our pets, that first time? Calling them instantly revives them, so they can cure us.

Are Wizards allowed?
No muscle wizard tactics would be allowed, I assume. No casting Fist.
I think he has a bad case of pink-eye every time I see him. Though he’s awesome, because Paul Eiding. xD
Honestly, while it may not be as crisp as your others, I feel that it works perfectly for the character. Though it seems like the art portrays her more as an elementalist than a necromancer. The sketchiness reminds me of the art-style of the backgrounds during Personal Story cutscenes too. >w>
Hoelbrak, is the coolest of course. ;D
Hmmm I heard theres pink and blue dye is that true?
You gotta buy a make-over kit from the gem store.
Holy moly… O_O I’ll send you a PM… >w>
Morpha wasn’t a tentacle monster. It was an amoeba that controlled the water it was in. However, that is waaaay off topic.
I agree though, I miss Kekai as well.
His excuse is pretty much that it would spread the Wolfborn too thinly and would leave Hoelbrak open for an attack as well. I can’t blame him; it was a tough call, I think. : /
There are parallels, but I think they this might be the Living Story cast, while Destiny’s Edge would be the Personal Story stuff. Also, just because they are associated with members does not always mean that they are successors. In fact, I doubt Braham would want to be associated with his mother.
DE’s nemeses are the Elder Dragons. I get the feeling that this “personal nemesis” we’ll see at the end of this will be what Braham and Rox’s possible guild (if there are more) would be initially for.
(edited by BunnytheSwordsman.4173)
It’s because they aren’t Greatswords. If the bows fired greatswords at the foe, maybe they’d bother making them awesome.
>w> The Fate/Stay Night fan in me likes the idea of this.
No, don’t change Frostbite’s HP. Make her pet just as worthless as mine. It’s only fair!
._. I came expecting LolCharr. Where are my LolCharrs?
It’s probably the updated models from awhile back.
Almorra sent my ranger, who is in the Vigil, a message back when The Razing started.
One per account.
I would love to use spears for terrestrial combat as well. xD Though, it’d be interesting to see how a Thief would use a Spear. Tridents should also capable of terrestrial combat.
It can be one of those weapons almost every class can use—casters/guardians get Trident and the adventurers/heavies get the spear. Pretty much the same as underwater.
The Vigil seems to be the one you get the notification from, and it makes sense. The Order seems to be doing more observation and the Priory probably will just be handling clean-up. The Vigil pretty much the group to turn to when you need to combat a force like the Molten Alliance.
Leveling u kitten uch a pain and not as fun the second time around, because none of the events are as new and I’ve been everywhere already. It’s why my Thief gets most of her EXP from crafting, now. I got the resources, now, because I never crafted much outside of the Chef skill.
The Pale Tree is the source of all of Tyria’s (the continent, at least) seasonal allergy problems. Unless there’s an Elder dragon associated with that, it’s not likely.
Well, this may be replying to an old thread, but I figured it’s about time.

Name: Akna Svellfiskr
Approximate Age: 24 (as of 1326 AE)
Affiliation: Order of Whispers
Race: Norn
Profession: Thief
Younger sister to Ashald Svellfiskr, a Crusader who fell during the final push against Zhaitan, in Arah, Akna finds herself mixed up in the affairs of her sister’s partner from the Vigil, Basil Wilding.
Appearance
Standing at 6’ 8", Akna is considered short, by Norn standards. Aside from her hair, she resembles her mother the most. Her body is well-built thanks to years of hunting and training. Her hands are also rough from being a leatherworker.
History
_ Youth_
Akna and her older sister grew up on a homestead between the Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau, not too far from Cragstead. The sisters were quite close, but were very competitive. It was not until they were 10 that they understood that they would not best the other in certain areas. For Akna, her sister would never match her with the bow.
Early Life
Akna stayed behind, in 1320 AE, when her sister joined the Vigil. Instead, she continued to hone her skills as a leatherworker and hunter. Over the years, she exchanged letters with her sister, who went on great adventures. It was through thee letters she first learned of Basil Wilding, who became her sister’s new partner in 1325.
Current Status
The last letter exchanged between Akna and Ashald was before the latter went to Orr to fight against Zhaitan with the Pact. After Zhaitan’s defeat, she learned her sister had perished, when Basil came to their homestead, bearing bad news. This created a cold barrier between she and Basil, until they met again during the battle against the Karka in Lion’s Arch and on Southsun Cove. Her actions during this time garnered the attention of the Order of Whispers, who left an open invitation to their organization.
When the Molten Alliance made itself apparent, her home was attacked. It was fortunate she was there, or her parents would have been taken. Her mother, however, had been injured during the attack. After hiding them, Akna sent a message to Basil asking for his help in escorting her family to Hoelbrak. This meeting was on much more friendly terms, and Akna’s parents were impressed by Basil’s combat prowess. When they arrived in Hoelbrak, they were forced to go to Lion’s Arch. After this, she wanted to strike back at the Molten Alliance as revenge. Thus, she joined the Order of Whispers.
Affiliations
Order of Whispers- Akna is currently an Agent of the Order with no partner. As a leatherworker, she made her own, customized version of their armor, which she felt suited her more. Her first investigation was to observe the Molten Alliance.
The Pact- By extension, by joining the Order, Akna is now involved in the battle against the Elder Dragons.
Family and Friends
Akna’s mother and father are just your typical norn family. Her mother traveled more, when Akna was a child, but when her father had a hunting accident that gave him a bad leg, she returned to help around the house. Due to Akna and Basil’s distrust of the Consortium, they are living in Basil’s empty home in the Salma District.
Ashald Svellfiskr— Akna’s sister, two years her elder; Guardian. Gravely wounded during the final battle in Arah. She went missing after the final battle, but due to her wounds, has been pronounced KIA.
Basil Wilding— This 21 year old (as of 1326 AE) ranger was the former partner of Akna’s older sister. Although their relationship was platonic, Akna knew her sister greatly respected him and saw him as her equal. After the Karka Incident, he was promoted to Warmaster. His faithful companion is the fern hound, Witherfang.
Akna’s opinion of Basil has greatly changed for the better, since his aid in moving her parents. One might argue she might be developing a crush on him, after he impressed her not once, but twice—the first when he saved her life on Southsun Cove. Since then, the debt has been repayed, when she saved his life more recently.
Personality
Temperament
Akna’s a bit rough around the edges and can be very direct. However, this is mostly because she fears the unknown. When she hunts, she knows what she’s hunting. She likes to be in control. She also has a “suck it up” mentality. She rolls with the punches and tries to make due.
Quirks
Akna’s got this knack for hitting people she cares for. An example would be her punching Basil’s shoulder several times in response to him entering a Molten Alliance weapon’s facility alone and getting injured.
Leatherworking for her is like sewing to the human housewife. She does it to pass time and for recreation.
I think the Pale Tree’s a worse mother than Eir, actually. That’s even taking into account she’s giving them 25 years worth of knowledge at birth. : / How many children is she churning out annually?
Since I’ve met Braham he is searching for a woman(Otilla) that was taken away by the dredge and charr.
Perhaps she is the personal nemesis.
That’s what I’m thinking as well. I have to doublecheck the cutscene in Hoelbrak to check if she’s there after the dungeon. If not, she’s a prime candidate. On top of that, there’s an instance where the prisoners don’t want to talk about her. We don’t see her the facility—at least, yet.
I did the cutscenes with both my character who finished the story and the one who is in the middle. There was a difference, but suddenly being called “citizen” did bug me a bit on my level 80. xD I’m used to it from GW1, but GW2 had me thinking there’d be some consistency with Smodur calling me a Pact Commander.
Probably the one problem I truly had was when I tried my second run (after needing to get off for work) we ran into the Translucent Ooze Champion and its little minions. I felt like I was in Orr again. sigh
Other than that, I agree, the dungeon was fun.
Did you finish the first two instances with just Rox and Braham? I think that’s required.
Yeah, that girl is easily forgettable (as in I talked to her once and then never again). XD I was only using D&D as a reference, because that tends to be the case.
Yet they are still more useful compared to the other Elites.
This time Shinobi.
Seriously, that looks really bad kitten
So, this is just something that’s been in my head for awhile and I wanted to hear your thoughts. I have no idea if there is any evidence for this out there. So, what age is it that the races are considered adults—namely the human, Charr, and Asura. Sylvari have the equivalent of a coming of age test by waking up from the Dream and Norn seem like the type to do some sort of test to pass into adulthood as well(I could be wrong). Most this post will be based off my observations, which are pretty shallow.
First off, what is the average lifespan of the race? If we ignore the fact that humans age beautifully, I would assume they have the average lifespan of about 60-80 years (adjusted for violent deaths.). I hate to draw outside sources in as well, but typically 15 is considered an adult for human—at least in PnP RPGs. I’d use Gwen as an example, but the Searing kind of forced her to grow up a bit fast.
As for the Charr, I can see their lifespans being shorter just because most likely they’ll die of wounds or in battle. I’m no buff on the Charr, but I would imagine the equivalent of reaching adulthood would be joining your first warband.
The Asura are a toughy, I feel. I would assume adulthood is not even a question, but more of one about credentials. Who built what and who knows the most? I would imagine it might be like the intellectual version of Norn culture.
That being said, what do you guys all think? Is there even evidence for this sort of thing? It’ll be very hard to find the age one is biologically an adult, based off ingame evidence, but we can try to guess when they are generally accepted as one.
<3 That’s understandable. I have finals coming up too, so I can get where you’re coming from. XP
…I play norn because of Jora.
Don’t save her, unless you want to steal the lad’s thunder. >:O We gotta make a manly man out of this norn boy. Let him save his own girlfriend.
The difference between the two is there is no real consequence for wearing Berserker gear. ;D That is, unless Anet decides to make the rule, “You die in the game, you die for real.”
You do realize that the Charr would have to march through the Shiverpeaks, right? If we’re to assume the only viable paths would be the roads, they’d be passing through: Diessa Plateau, Wayfarer Foothills, and Snowden Drfts, before even getting into Lornar, right? The Priory aren’t that stupid and while there is bickering between the orders, even before the Pact, I doubt the orders would throw the other under the bus. I have no evidence to prove that last bit, though.
The norn and charr may be friendly with each other, but I don’t think anyone would take kindly to marching an invasion force through their territory. The Lionguard is also stationed in all three areas before then too. While they may be at war with humans, their actions affect the whole.
There’s an “Adventurer” talking to an Asura—I forget the type of NPC the Asura is. But if you’re heading into LA from Genderran Fields, go towards the Mystic Forge. Keep looking to your right and you’ll see them.
Bear, because I forgot to change it to Wolf, in Character creation. XD
The closest we’ll get is this: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/4/47/Tyria.jpg
But we’ll never get an accurate map for awhile, I think. There are some problems with the globe in OoW’s HQ.
Okay, you can go through the gate. We’ll shut it behind you. Give Palawa Joko our regards.
Well, one could argue the best NPC, temporarily was the player before the crowd-control spam was fixed in Orr.
In all seriousness, I liked Snarl and Galina as well. Though, I think Forgal might be my favorite, tied with Eir. Old norn guy? Paul Eiding? Okay, you’re awesome. Though, I think Forgal should get his eyes checked…
Ew… that pumpkin must be all mushy and squishy and smelly now. Well, unless we count the place the Mad King appeared in Rata Sum. The Asura probably did something to the pumpkin to make it not rot.
So, for my human ranger, I’m wearing:
Tier 2 cultural pants, gloves, and boots.
Duelist Chest
Vigil Shoulders
On my Thief:
Whisper’s Chest
Tier 1 Cultural pants
Prowler gloves and boots
Tier 3 Cultural Shoulders
Popping back in because I liked your art of Basil so much. >w< <3 The art you’ve been doing since they looks awesome as well. So, um… Got another character for you, if your interested—my thief, Akna Svellfiskr. Her signature weapons are currently Lionguard Daggers. >w>
(edited by BunnytheSwordsman.4173)
It apparently can’t be found everywhere. That’s something it can’t do, I think. XD
(edited by BunnytheSwordsman.4173)
Dhuum, actually, if I recall.
It’s more of a suggestion than Lore, I think. I don’t know what the general consensus will be though.
You see, the fact is the “should haves” and “could haves” don’t matter, when it comes to changes. At least, in my opinion, they don’t. The fact is that Zhaitan’s final stand sucked for a multitude of reasons. Instead of focusing so much on Zhaitan, focus on the next ED and what could be changed. Think towards the future, my friend. I know Anet learns from their mistakes, when it counts.
Also, the Lore Forums aren’t the best place for this.
