Try to do all the pvp dailies so you can progress the reward track faster. And after the dailies if you are just playing matches play unranked, because it gives more reward track xp than the hotjoin.
And for the dungeon, try to get a friend who knows how to run arah to carry you, arah is extremely easy with experienced players but it’s a nightmare with a newbie pug group. Just by having one person to guide the group will make everything smoother.
That could indeed explain the change in the lighting of the catacombs but don’t tell me they repaired an entire staircase by accident! ^^
A new iron gate has been added to the bottom of the stairs which make it seem likely that the area could be closed off easily and re-opened again by an event or lever or whatever.
That staircase was repaired because people were using it as a safespot to fight the boss from P1. With the broken staircase the adds couldnt climb it to reach the players and the boss couldnt hit with his beam atack.
Nah, dont worry about it. But yes, nowadays it takes a bit longer to find a group, and a lot longer if you play in odd hours. In dungeons you just need to know how to tag along with the group, you’re overthinking it.
Because of the lack of people to play dungeons with, if you just show off on a lvl 80 you will be helping the group a lot, since that now dungeon runners dont have much choice on who to pick.
You just need to watch a video of an AC run then just pug it. Dungeons in this games are all about stacking in a corner to kill mobs then running past another bunch of mobs then stacking in a safespot to kill the boss.
If you go with a lvl 80 character and pug with other lvl 80s you wont have any problem. It gets problematic if you pug with a bunch of low lvl f2p players that dont speak english or refuse to use chat.
I wonder why people don’t include story mode paths on their daily dungeon runs. Story mode gives 50s on completion, that is more than most explorable paths, that give only 33s.
And story mode dungeons are really fast to complete.
I dont think the events happen on a timer. Before the megaserver you could follow a temple event on an app, for example you could see which server is doing then right now, I used to like to run the events after reset while guesting on Northern Shiverpeaks server. But now with the megaserver you cant do that, you just have to be lucky to be on an instance where people are doing then.
To find that event you need to keep farming in cursed shore and keep asking in chat if the event to defend the gates of Arah are happening. The defense event can finish very quickly so you need to be fast to wp there and tag that boss that has a twilight.
Or you can be lucky and get to a new cursed shore instance where the gates of arah are contested, then you can join the zerg to do the event chain in order to open it.
Edit: Oh, and the event to defend arah when it is uncontested doesnt lock the arah wp, so if you just look at the map expecting to see that wp contested it will not going to work for you.

It’s like what vespers said, you still get plenty of groups, but you can’t expect to have a smooth speedrun anymore. You will have to lower your expectations if you want to pug dungeons now.
So 1800 toughness is too much for druid? Because i geared my druid with clerics armor, rings and amulet and got 1800 toughness from that too. So i should equip magi armor instead?
I think he means he is not getting the achievement for dungeon master from that path. I’ve never heard of this bug on AC. It was happening some time ago with arah, where appearently arah story mode wasnt giving the achiev for some people, but i dont know about it happening on AC.
He is entering berserker mode an extra time maybe because of the new break bar. Before the break bar you could just interrupt it the first time with a cc but now the break bar doesn’t allow it.
And now there is this bug with Belka in arah p2 where she doesnt trigger the cutscene, she keeps teleporting around but doesnt get hostile. I guess this bug will never get fixed, just like Grast, Detha, the first flame turrets in AC story and so on.
That shows that it’s really hard to try to enforce the “zerker meta” in pug runs. On the contrary of what people like nemesis like to claim. They say that it’s almost impossible to pug dungeons because of the toxicity of the zerker meta, but if you really want to enforce zerker requirements you will meet resistance even from people that meet the requirements.
But pugs still like to kick rangers and necros on sight, even when they thenselves play non-meta builds.
Now they need to fix Detha’s bugs, and Grast’s too, where he doesnt cast his shield bubble. That last one is a problem when you are in a group of new underleveled players since the boss takes longer to die.
In the past that boss only used the poison aoe against people standing at range, but anet changed that so now you cant avoid the aoe atack anymore.
It was a good change because before that it used to be a very toxic enviroment in pug runs, where everyone had to stack in a corner and if someone moved an inch away from the corner the boss would use the aoe and wipe the entire group, that fight was not newbie friendly.
The spider queen only spawns after all the lvl 1 and lvl 2 spiders are killed, so your group can kill the lvl 35 ones and leave a lvl 1 spider for last. What usually gets me killed there is if i get caught by the web spray from the spider boss (which causes immobilize) then she shoots an aoe poison on me, to avoid that as a warrior you can pick that trait that breaks immobilize when you use a movement skill or just have a warhorn.
And the mini spiders poison atack can be reflected, so if a guardian brings a wall of reflection it helps.
It really doesn’t make sense why anet removed the path. Anet was so hyped about the awesomeness of the temporary content they were pumping up that they thought it was a good idea to trash an entire dungeon path. I think anet tries too hard to be different.
Arah story mode doesn’t count for completion anymore, now you only need 4/4 on the achievements. In my case i have 5/4 because i did arah story before the changes i guess.
How do you know the pugs were zerk? Did they demand gearcheck? They didnt kick you for being a ranger at the beginning so they were not the elitist type. Maybe the engie asked to kick you because you refused to die after the group wiped, it is quite annoying when that happens, the ranger is not going to solo the boss but still doesnt want to ooc.
Now every stupid thing that happens in pugs is because of zerk meta, it’s like if there was no zerk meta suddenly all communication problems most pugs have and other difficulties would just disappear if one stat combo was removed from the game.
The dungeons are used mostly to farm gold, and it’s faster to run a dungeon with a full lvl 80 group than one with lowbies. If you want to run then at a low lvl you need to specify that you are lower lvl or join groups that say “everyone welcome” or something.
The first story mode dungeon is ascalonian catacombs at lvl 30, the dungeon is in plains of ashford (the first charr map).
The story mode dungeons are not for the main story, they are just a side story about the Destiny’s edge “reunion”, when you meet then at the first time in Lions Arch you learn that they are angry at each other, and during the story mode dungeons you help then be friends again, until the final mission which is Arah story mode (that can be done solo now) where you fight Zaithan with their help.
Most people that pug dont care about meta builds, even in groups where people do gear check and stuff you still get lots of pugs that are running non-meta traits and weapons and just lie about being zerk, i dont think it will change after the xpac releases.
And also people will forget about the old content and will start focusing on the expansion. The exception might be fractals, maybe for lvl 100 fractals people might demand meta builds if the content is too hard, but if the difficult from the new lvl 100 gets to be the same from the lvl 50 we have nowadays most groups wont care about min-maxing.
If you want to swap to a lower lvl alt at final boss you should ask the group first if you can do it and see if the group is ok with it. I had it happen to a group i was in SE p1, at Tazza 2 players swapped while Tazza was still above 50% hp, and thats not a nice thing to do to your groupmates. Most of the time the group will be ok with it, but i’ve seen groups kicking people for swapping, specially groups that advertise for speedrun.
Now about these lvl 80 5k ap elitists that refuse to run with your lowbie alt, i bet you also refuse to group up with low lvl newbies and prefer to do a speedrun to power lvl your alt, so i bet you are also part of the toxic elitist comunity that just wants to speedrun dungeons for quick gold and xp.
You need to post that on reddit and on the general discussions forum, that will increase the chances to find like-minded players. Also say if your guild is NA or EU.
I use wtfast, and that trouble you had with it disconnecting you from the game can be fixed if you manually select the server you want to connect it with. To select the best server you click on the “sort by ping” button then it will test the pings from all avaliable servers, then you go and select the server with the lowest ping avaliable.
Me for example, i’m from Brazil and usually the server with the lowest ping is BR3 so i usually just select that one.
After i started manually selecting a specific server wtfast stopped kicking me out of the game.
I get that with my ele too. But i wonder why these kinds of laggy teleports only happen on specific skills, for example i get that bug on burning retreat on ele but not on the thief skills that do the same kind of movement. I also get those weird teleports on ranger shortbow #3 and thief shortbow #3.
You can start by trying to solo the story mode dungeons, you can search on youtube for videos about solos. Start with ascalonian catacombs story mode, the lower lvl dungeons should be easier.
You can also search on youtube for builds, where you can maximize reflect uptime or personal dps, maybe go for a condi build, getting this kind of knowledge is really fun.
Another thing that helps a lot is getting a friend or anyone to duo dungeon paths, AC path 1 for example gets really easy in a duo and if one of the players is an elementalist.
That was weird, they were votekicking the guardian but then all of sudden you got kicked out. Maybe it was a bug? Could have been that the guardian decided to leave the group himself and his votes got passed to you.
If you didnt like that they skipped the golems before the final boss you could have said that in chat and asked for help or anything, and not just going afk without saying a word. It’s ok that in your head you think you carried then through the entire dungeon, but that doesnt mean you can just have a terrible attitude and refuse to even try to comunicate with the group.
It looks to me that you want to power lvl your alts in dungeons but you dont want to group up with noobs, so you complain that the rest of the dungeon players have the same attitude as you do, which is to refuse to run with lowbies in dungeons.

I wouldnt know been trying to get my 500 CoE tokens for the past month and cant seem to get a group since i dont have zerker gear nor do i want to buy it just to get the tokens.
You could fix your problem in so many ways. Post your own lfg, or join a guild that is active in dungeon runs, or just get your gokitten zerk gear. But instead of doing any of that you prefer to sit and complain about the toxic comunity.
You need to see dungeons as lvl 80 content. Back when i started playing in 2012 i would only run story mode dungeons until i got to lvl 80, it took me like 2 months to max lvl my warrior. Even back then people didnt like low lvl players in dungeons, and there was no dungeon meta (at least that i knew of) since Strife only started posting videos in 2013.
And back then it was even worse, because if the group wiped at spider queen or at the burrows room everyone would just disband, so the gw2 community was never nice, you cant blame the “zerk meta” for the toxicity you see among players.
At least he didnt kick you and your friend from the instance. I guess there are people that keep watching the arah lfg just waiting for an opportunity to steal a seller’s run. I used to solo arah then give it for free on the lfg at the end boss, but after the removal of instance ownership i had to stop doing that, people were just instantly joining and kicking me out.
The difficulties that youtuber was facing shows how the npe failed to adress the trouble gw2 has to hold new players to the game. He gave up to the game at lvl 10 and he didn’t even got to see the personal story.
The NPE should have focused in creating more dynamic events around the heart quests, making then less boring to complete, another problem i saw on the video was that he didnt know how to queue for pvp matches, he was just joining those arenas where people were farming for dailies, that may have caused him a bad impression about the pvp in gw2.
I was playing with cond warrior s/s + longbow and i noticed a bug: your burst skill recharges instantly when you swap weapons, so i could use flurry then combustive shot right after it. I just had to use signet of fury and the healing skill to get adrenaline back.
Maybe you can ask support to do a rollback on your account, so it will restore everything you had before deleting that character. If the support answers with another premade answer keep trying until someone who knows what to do fixes your issue.
Did anyone else noticed if the superior sigil of strength lost its internal cooldown? I’m playing my necro with dagger+warhorn and life siphon and he is getting 18 stacks of might almost instantly when i fight a bunch of mobs.
Edit: i took a print. Notice that i didnt use DS or any skill that gives might and i’m playing solo the personal story instance, and still i managed to get 12 stacks of might.
Edit 2: I got 19 stacks of might this time just from the sigil of strength.
