I got the koda’s gift recipe last sunday ^^
When i got it that earring was worth 13g, but now its 8g. I assume i was not the only one to loot that recipe this week.
Its only the full signet warriors that get hate? What about the full signet guardians rangers thieves etc, is it ok for a thief to go full signet but not for a warrior?
The last poi may be in Gendarran Fields. They added a new jumping puzzle and a new poi there on the aetherblades living story.
If you looted it in fractals you cant sell it. Fractals is full of exotic stuff that are account bound.
I carried a group of Spanish people through p3, even killed Lupicus with 6 stacks (solo started at 70%hp), and then I told them everything necessary at last boss, and we did it somehow. They gave me bonus 10g as a reward. Very kind
omg you have only 17g (now 27 with that 10g), you’re so poor :S
You need to stop soloing lupicus and do more casual stuff. I’m a casual player and i have almost 300g.
The person who enters first is the instance owner. So next time you make a group enter in the dungeon first then post on lfg.
If i make a lfg post and one of the pugs rush to enter the dungeon i always leave the group and post again, i’ve already got a lot of headache because of these kinds of pugs.
Usually these types of pugs that enter in the dungeon first without being the group leader have around 1k AP and always ragequit or leave the group before the final chest.
I only do the world bosses and temples events because of the dragonite ore, they are needed for ascended crafting and there is no other way to get it. I would like to be able to get it from dungeons too, i’m from a small server and cursed shore here is always empty, we rarely have enough people to run Melandru so I need to guest on big servers to do that.
But really, i dont like these events :S
Edit: you can get dragonite ore in wvw by taking keeps, but it doesn’t give much ore and my server is not always going well on wvw, it would take forever to farm the 500 ores needed for crafting a weapon.

I’m always grateful when a elementalist join the AC group i’m pugging, doesnt matter the lvl. Those conjured weapons are Op. But it sucks when some of then simply refuse to drop a fiery greatsword, i dont get why some players have this kind of attitude, i’ve seen that from some guardians in TA too, some of then just refused to use staff on the blossoms to help the group to skip and didn’t want to use wall of reflection on the bosses.
I think that this 10% damage increase happens only in full berserker gear, since we all know that berserker is op and need nerf. Other kinds of builds like soldier’s cleric’s conditions etc will not get that much damage increase. In wvw i notice that almost everyone wears soldier gear so ascended will not have that much impact.
The most impact will happen in dungeon’s speedclears because of the full berserker meta.
i didnt understood yet if is better loose a bit of power for precision or not
It depends of the situation. My warrior for example can keep fury up all the time, can cast banner of discipline for more precision, can equip signet of fury and can have +15% crit chance when with full adrenaline, so i can easily reach more than 90% crit chance without using sigil of accuracy or perception, so bloodlust and force/night sigils would be better.
Guardian with a sword+focus build have access to a trait that gives +15% crit chance with one handed weapons, so with just a sigil of accuracy you can get very high crit chance.
So you need to see each case, if the build you play has less than 50% crit chance and you don’t have much access to fury and other precision boosters its better to have sigils of accuracy and perception.
The player base seemed much nicer when I first started playing, I was trained by pugs for most dungeons before joining a guild. Now? I don’t actually know how people do it…
I remember the veteran players were much nicer. I think thats because after the hype GW2 started to lose lots of players, many servers started to get empty and the game appeared to be “dying”, so the playerbase were more kind to new players, and there wasn’t this meta of FULL BERSERKER PING GEAR blablabla.
When i started to pug dungeons i used my lvl 80 warrior with green gear using sword+shield, i’ve never got kicked because of that. And i used to hate skipping, i never knew when to use stability, what stunbreak was etc.
I miss bodyblocking from GW1. Stacking looks stupid. ANet should at least put some mechanics to punish it.
With bodyblocking the zerg events would be impossible to do. Imagine a crowded Lions Arch, you won’t be able to walk around because you will be bumping on everyone.
Ranger: make the pet totally immune to enviromental traps and stuff. For example in a TA group i pugged we had a thief that placed shadow refugee so we could skip the blossom vines, everyone except of the ranger’s pet got stealthed, and the pet triggered all the blossom vines on the way. The pets shouldn’t trigger any of those enviromental traps in any case.
Its still unfair to the ranger class that rooted effect. As a ranger you can get a bonus damage while flanking (or you cause bleeding, i’m not sure), so moving around would be better. A guardian can use focus 5 while auto atacking but a ranger has to interrupt the autoatack to try to move. And also some bosses like the one in the end of HofTW p1 requires you to stay at max melee range to survive, and a ranger can’t do that.
ANet really made ranger a handicapped class on purpose.
(edited by Casmurro.9046)
You may be referring to AC p1 skipping right before the last boss. I remember that graveling tunnels were a pain for me to skip, it was too easy to get lost. But after you memorize the way you will not want to kill any of those mobs again. Use shadow refugee and that shortbow shadowstep skill to move faster on the tunnels, and bring stun breakers.
Another thing that sucks is that if a mob targets you before you enter in stealth it will still hit you after you are stealthed, so you will get knocked down even if you stealth in the middle of that tunnel.
Asking to your group to use blast finishers on your smoke screen can be very effective but most players don’t know what blast finishers are.
I think rangers are really fun, it was my favorite class to lvl up so far, but that sword auto-atack is just a pain. I don’t get it why guardians can launch foes away with a hammer while running but a ranger can’t move while using a sword. Not only it makes you rooted in place unable to dodge or move around but it also makes you jump away if you drop the target.
The other melee alternative is the greatsword but its dps is worse than guardian’s mace main hand.
I agree with trying to CQC the Longbow by purposefully hitting the mid-range bonus instead of going all the way out to hit the long-range bonus. But only when you’ve got to stay within range to hit people with Spotter and there’s some delicious buffs going on that you’d otherwise be missing.
Double-bow rangers normally don’t use spotter, they prefer to pick the traits that give 1500 longbow range and piercing arrows.
Arah is not the hardest dungeon. That dungeon is so full of exploits that makes it one of the easiest dungeons to solo. Some story mode dungeons are harder than arah.
Arah have some of the most op trash mobs though.
Also its good if you kill one or two of those drakes near the abomination. Sometimes when i tried to solo it one of the drakes agroed on me.
I’ve never joined an Arah group, so i started to try to solo Arah p2 to get experience before trying to pug it. I’m finding it really fun to fight Lupicus but i still can’t survive phase 2.
But what amazed me is the amount of exploits that path has, the first boss Belka just goes afk if you stand in a certain spot, the abomination is a fun boss to fight, Lupicus could be skipped with those experimental rifles but they fixed that and i still don’t know if there is another way to skip him.
Nice job , i tought it was impossible on necro but looks
Like its not .A t s e, please stop visiting these forums….every post your make is so…just so….
Appearently the [LOD] guild is the owner of the dungeon’s forum. The rest of us need to get their permission to post here. They and a couple of other guilds are the only ones allowed to post bullkitten in this forum.
HAX! You guys were somewhat stacking.
Spread out more and kite the way it’s supposed to be done!!
At least the melee pets were stacking.
I think he is talking about the first quest you do when you create a norn, that Great Hunt thing. You can hunt a boar and other animals iirc. If you hunt only one or kill all of then doesn’t really matter.
I agree, in most cases you can swap out a perception sigil for a bloodlust and use ranger runes for a permanent 5% damage mod.
But the rune says you need a companion to get the+5%. Does it works even without a companion?
The problem i see in the dungeon’s forum is that the allegedly hardcore guilds of this game spend more time trolling here than playing the game. I think this is because of the lack of endgame, the only true endgame in gw2 are the living stories but the so-called hardcore players refuse to do it because it makes then look casual.
ANet should give then more non-casual endgame stuff to do so they can stop trolling here. Seriously, you don’t see this kind of bad behavior from the hardcore pvp or wvw players in their foruns.
ANET should do something to fix these stacking exploits. It is an exploit because the mobs either stop atacking you or they stop using some of their atacks, for example in TA if you stack in a tree to fight the champions before the nightmare tree the champion just bugs and does nothing against the group. Several bosses in the game suffer from this exploit.
They should use the AI from the bandits or the centaurs from Kessex Hills on the bosses, those mobs are always moving while you fight then and they won’t let you stack then in a corner.
OP: I faced the same concerns you did about two weeks ago when I needed to start running dungeons to complete a legendary. I’ll share some observations from my experiences.
I agree with the recommendation to let the group know that you’re new to the dungeon. Do this until you feel comfortable that you know (a) the mechanics of the fights, and (b) where to go from encounter to encounter. Honestly, it will only take you a few runs of a path before you’ll understand it well enough.
Bad groups do happen, and mean players do exist. So what? If a run ends badly, move on and try again. If you made mistakes, learn from them and move on to the next try. If you have a bad experience with a particular player, don’t run with them again. This is all just pixels and flashing lights … no one actually dies.
Final tip: often the player who yells, complains, or criticizes is actually compensating for their own inexperience or their own mistakes. Players who call out other players for minor errors are frequently deflecting attention from their own misplay. The guys who who yell are much less pro than they pretend, in my experience.
This ^
Thats exatly what i think. What i see is that those rude players normally are terrible in the game that can’t pull their own weight, so they throw their frustration on the others of the group. If you have one or two skilled players in your group you can complete almost any dungeon, no matter how bad the other members are.
So if you join a group that have at least one nice and skilled player to show the way you will have no trouble into finishing that. Having a decent build and being willing to listen to instructions makes everything much easier.
HofTW p1 and SE p1 are very short paths, you can pug and finish then with no problem. I personally like the HofTW light armor skin.
SE p3 is easy too, but there are some skipping parts that you need someone to teach you how to do.
So, the easiest would be doing SE path 1 and 3, those are easy to speed-run.
HofTW p2 and 3 are easy imo, but they have water combat and are longer, they last like 30 minutes.
I think they are only removing takittentemporarily. One dev said in this forum that TA was a high priority to get fixed, so i believe that they were working on to fix takittenin this patch but they couldn’t finish it in time, so they had to remove it.
All of the dungeons have portals in Lion’s Arch at the Fort Marriner Waypoint.
In there you find the npcs that sell the dungeon’s rewards, but they dont teleport you to then.
If you make a little jumping puzzle you can get to a place where the red circles don’t hit you but you can range that boss worm. There is also one mushroom on the lower ground of that room where its very unlikely that the red circles hit you, if you stay on the edge of that mushroom you will see no red circle under your feet.
To get the achievement you need to be on the last place where she teleports and atack her. It doesn’t matter if you fought her on the other places of that ship, if you get too late to the last place where she stays you dont get the achievement.
So the best way to do that is to know where she will be and just wait for her there. Depending of the number of people on the event she dies very quicky, giving too little time to run to her specially if you get lost on that ship.
That path is easy with 2 rangers with longbow. If you stay at 1500 range the spiders will stop respawning eventually, but if you reset the fight you have to kill then all over again.
In the past people would only range the tree at 1200 range to avoid agroing the spiders from the back, so Arenanet increased the agro distance of the spiders, but its still safe to atack the tree at 1500 range just like it was in the past.
Reported for spreading atrocious glitch tactics that only help to lower the already low skill level of PuG players. Organised teams can kill him in 3 seconds, whilst this is hardly expected from PuGs you can still just DPS him down before getting buried in too many adds.
These tactics are already spread all over the community. When you pug people expect you to know that, and if you try to do different they will kick you.
Now with the new lfg tool its very fast to make a group but people are kicking others even faster. I was in a AC group that wiped on the spider twice, so after the second fail they just kicked the ranger with 1k achievement points, and it wasn’t the red aoe circles that killed us, it was all the group’s fault because no one had condition removal.
So the more experienced members of gw2 community expect everyone to know how to glitch fights and just kick if you try to do something different.
I play for almost a year and still i haven’t tried to run arah :S
I think you should first get a complete set of exotic stuff, maybe by crafting it or by running CoF until you get all the berserker gear and weapons, that way it will be less painful for you to run it and it will make it easier for your group, and also they won’t need to carry you through.
Arah is the high end dungeon in this game, so you should be prepared before trying to run it. It will be easier if you get to a good guild with TS or whatever, that can teach you how to run it and all the tricks/exploits to be able to complete it.

Condition builds are weak for pve because of that. If a mob that you are atacking is already with 25 stacks you will do no damage with bleeding. So in group events for example all the players with condition builds will be limited to that 25 stacks, all that 25 stacks are shared among the players involved in the event.
So, for dungeons and pve condition builds suck.
Engineer might be the best option. I think engineer’s grenades have the best ranged dps when traited, and they deal a lot of vulnerability stacks and can cause chill and blindness. Then if you have to kite a boss you can use bombs.
After i saw this vídeo i got motivation to finish leveling my eng, and i’m finding it very fun to play ^^
At this time in the game he is dead. All the living story we are getting now are events ocurring after Zhaitan’s death.
Hard to say but generally speaking I’ve probably acquired more gold by using WP than I’ve paid in fees. I think the highest fee is around 5s but I forgot where the two points were. Had to pay that just the other day.
I think the most expensive wps travel is between temple of grenth’s wp and CoF.
I did that trick recently. I created a lvl 1 thief and transmuted his hood to a white piece of armor, then i gave it to my ranger. I believe you could also do that with the guardian’s starter shoulders and give it to a warrior.
Guardian. For some dungeons like TA a guardian can provide a much smoother run, specially if the group has a lot of inexperienced players to the dungeon.
But don’t make a defensive guardian with high healing power, make a high dps one. Healing power in this game is a subpar stats.
Just have the mesmer portal you past them and you’re good to go.
But it can be a problem if the mesmer of the group is the one having that bug.
That happened to people of my group 2 times, one of the times 2 people of the same group couldn’t see the boulders. Once i had a bug that i couldn’t see the gate of that boulder’s part, but the boulders were still visible.
You can buy 4 pieces of heavy armor gear on temple of melandru, the boots you can buy on temple of Lyssa, only the soldiers helm is not avaliable on the temples.
And temple of melandru’s event is easy to complete, it shouldn’t be hard to find it open, and the temple’s heavy armor skin is pretty nice.
I did this path recently with a pug. The strategy we used was having 2 rangers with longbow. First you need to get the npc killed, just agro some spiders and stay behind the npc so the spiders can kill her with the poison (it doesnt work if you let her die too far away from the boss room, since she will respawn).
So the rangers keep atacking the tree at 1500 range while the other 3 members kill the spiders and some turrets that agro on the group. You need to dodge the atack from the tree where it shakes its back and makes some goo drop on the floor, that atack makes you get 10 stacks of vulnerability and can wipe your group, it also makes some spiders spawn. I noticed if you stay at 1500 range the spiders will stop respawning on that goo atack after a while, even if you don’t dodge then.
Just remember to put the pets on peaceful mode and dont use piercing shots. The fight gets very easy after you clean the spiders in front of the tree, you only need to worry about that goo atack.
Good luck!

Awesome replies, thanks. Is it possible to work on end-game armor before hitting level 80? Or is everything before 80 pretty much just practice? IIRC you get your gear via tokens, right?
Yes, it is. You can start to do AC for example at lvl 35, CoF is a lvl 75 dungeon. You spend the tokens you get in Lions Arch, on Fort Marriner’s waypoint (there is a bunch of npcs lined up, each one sells stuff from each dungeon). So you can lvl up doing AC and also getting the tokens at same time. The two easiest dungeon paths i recommend is AC path 3 and CoF path 1.
You get 60 tokens from each dungeon’s path you do each day, an exotic two-handed weapon costs 390 tokens. So if you do all the 3 paths you get 180 tokens, but dungeons usually have one or two paths that are easy so everyone keep doing then and one path that no one ever touches, like AC path 2.

When i got to lvl 80 i bought my rare gear on the trading post. To make it easier you click on the option “Show Filters”, if you want a greatsword for example you select the following:
Category: Weapon
Subcategory: Greatsword
Rarity: Rare
Level range: 80 to 80
This way is easier to buy than just placing a name on the search, since some greatswords for example have a different name than “berserker greatsword of bloodlust”.
You can set the order of the items displayed in your search based on price, just click on “price” in the price column, this way you can make the best deal based on the stats you want and the best looking skin avaliable for your Money (you can preview the items on the trade post by right clicking on then).
When i started playing i saw this vídeo about how to use the trade post, post bidings and stuff
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZFIIEAZ0R8
(edited by Casmurro.9046)
You can craft your gear, the gear with berserker stats for example is craftable, you can also buy it on the trade post.
I think you can buy the pieces of Rare quality with 30-40 silver each piece, and rare gear is not too much weaker compared with exotics, and after you get your exotics you can salvage your old rare gear to get ectos, so in the end you can recover the gold you invested on then. You can buy the exotic gear with berserker stats (power precision crit damage) on the trade post too, but they are usually very expensive compared with gear with other stats types.
You can also buy gear on the temples in Orr, i think the best stats avaliable on the temples are the soldier (power toughness vitality), you can use like 2 or 3 pieces of exotic soldier gear to improve you survivability while you are still learning how to survive on dungeons, soldier gear is like training weels you will use until you are comfortable with full berserkers, but don’t go full soldiers because that will make your dps very low, and its actually harder to survive in dungeons when the group has low dps even though you are more “tanky”.
(edited by Casmurro.9046)
You need to post on gw2lfg.com
That is where the community in this game goes for dungeon groups. The members don’t need to be from the same server to do dungeons together, but people from EU and US servers cant do dungeons together.
