Doesn’t change the fact this was meant to be bought not earned. Post Winter’s Day the gifts won’t drop so it’s buy buy buy (x10,000).
Or it is simply meant not to be rushed in one Event …
I feel ya, OP. Sanctum Scramble is probably the most unfun adventure of the lot. Very stressful adventure with Crappy controls, very tight timer and Frustrating platforming design.
I liked it more than a lot of the other ones. But Iam actually a fan of jumping puzzles, so my opinion does not really count here, I suppose.
Maybe I should sell Jumping Puzzle completions.
(Joke, please no ban Anet. :<)

I actually made it first try. But I wasn’t running a zerker build, so I could do quite a lot of mistakes withhout immediately failing … I even failed the first air phase and still survived.
The boss itsself has just a tiring amount of HP. The fight takes ways too long in my opinion, even as a full zerker (did it with a full zerker character too, It was a lot harder then and I died two times.)

The Gerent did simply not fit in where it was. Compared to every other HoT Map Meta it was simply ridiculous while beeing connected to “casual” stuff.
I do not have a problem with “hard” events if they are an entirely seperate thing like Triple Trouble. But the balancing of the Gerent event was just kittened for where it ist.
Rewarding the bad players with undeserved rewards will just lower their incentive to optimise their builds and equipment.
I actually doubt that the majority of the player base is “optimising” their builds and equipment in ways you’d like. Does this make the majority of the playerbase “bad”? Do you not see the problem with this? Why balancing something on a minority?
I for example like to play some of my characters with something else than an Zerker build. It is fun for me. Am I not allowed to have fun in your world?
You already get rewards for showing up and playing, in this case ley line crystals and chak acid. You just do not get the main price if you fail.
Yeah, those 15 Ley Line Crystals are really worth my time … not. I get more in the same time by doing two adventures or just randomly killing mobs.
People who dont run full DPS builds are a dead weight. Why should people who optimise their equipment be punished with boring encounters just because of some unteachable players? Because lets face it, if you arent running full DPS builds in anywhere in PVE (except niche roles in raids) you are doing it wrong.
I cleared most of the dungeons at release withhout exploiting (!), withhout graveyard zerg and withhout a zerker build in most of my parties. Interestingly enough we mostly failed when we had “too much” Zerkers.
How did you fare?
Seriously, just stop your wannabee elitist crap. There is basically not a single thing in the whole game, which needs everyone to run around in zerker gear except raids. Why should there be ONE event, that isn’t seperated from everything else, requiring that? It makes zero sense and goes against the actual playerbase, of which not all are wannabee elitists.

Wait, what? You want to replace grind by even more grind? 50 wins of this snowball crap? Are you serious? I’d rater grind 100.000 of those drinks instead.
Also, why the heck do you need it NOW anyways? It is like 3 days in of 30 (?).
Remember me to turn off map chat for now. It is useless anyways.
Please remove also everything else and give it out for free. Because I can’t play any event at all.
PS: How are people doing the Bell event stuff? The JP is like super easy compared to that one.
To me VB is somewhat OK, what I can’t stand about it is that the canopy is not accessible unless some events are done at certain times so all the helicopters are available and also, since it is the 1st HOT map in line it requires far too many masteries to access everything you need to access from it.
The canopy is 100% accessible at all time with Advanced Gliding(except maybe Patriarch’s platform). Most of it is accessible all the time with just updraft.
You can get up to the highest point per updrafts if Iam not mistaken. And from there you can reach everything easily.
But like you said, you need advanced gliding for it and know where to start.
I hope the story gets darker and darker with more characters dying off (except Rytlock).
And Taimi. Taimi is awesome.
There is “casual” stuff gated behind this meta and the difficulty did not fit into the game at all. It was a lot harder than the actual endboss.
If they want to do challenging open world events, then they should simply make them independend, like Triple Trouble. Oh, no one likes to play Triple Trouble? Too bad.
If you want a challenge, go for raids.
I like HoTs map design over Tyria ones. I dislike how the maps are designed around timers.
I do not understand how anyone is “forced” to do them. No one needs every mastery unlocked, thus no one needs to do every minigame.
I actually dislike the question in TESO. It is simply the same over and over again and you HAVE to do it. Unlike GW2 where you can level by doing whatever you want to do.
The second one, tought you should work your dyes there, its too much black.
really don´t get this complaint.
It´s a thief. He´s supposed to be low key and dark to blend in with the shadows
He won’t blend in with the shadows like that. The black is “too black” and thus stands out and too many parts of the body are not covered.
@OP: Can you please define your understanding of “casual”? It does seem to differ from the more general definition.
There are quite a lot of different kind of bags exactly for what you ask …
Ignoring mistakes won’t make the game better, it will just get worse. So one might think you aren’t really interested in the future of the game.
Also I only see 3 free new areas. This is not exactly much considering how old the game is by now.

@OP: I aggree on everything but the hearts. I hate those stupid, annoying and boring hearth quests. Please never put them in again.
Iam one of the solo players who “pollute” your precious pvp. And I have to tell you: Imagine how long you would have to wait for a match if it wasn’t for this “pollution”.
Long time ago, there were Solo Q and team Q. They removed it cause Q time was awful and it didn’t work as well . So u won’t see SOlo Q again… unless the reasons they deleted aren’t still an issue but let me doubt about this.
Now stop asking for solo Q … u won’t have that back anyway. Try to ask why they removed it and why they can’t do it again.
So they are forcing players again into modes they do not want to play? Where is the point? If too few people want to play as premade … well, kitten happens. And now get my solo Q back. Who cares about those premade lamers?

I do not understand the OP. You dislike PvP, yet you play it … why? I don’t get it.
Wasn’t it pretty obvious that dragons stand could not have been after the main story?
We made it brain death, after all.
Really, the best example you could come up with is ripping on obese people? Have to break it to you, people of all shapes and sizes can be flatulent.
A lot of people think it is more disgusting when fat people do it.
Design like this will just lead to few people actually doing this kind of content. Just look at triple trouble. It is similar and I recently often do not even find a organized map. Tequatl is a kittenton easier than that and thus not comparable to Chak Gerent.
Then you do not do dungeons, high level fractals or raids …
I hate this behaviour as well but that’s exactly what you get from snotty elitists, and that’s what you got from them before HoT as well. Although, I admit, you do have a point as it brings this kind of behaviour to PvE open world as well …
And it is Anets fault for implementing content that basically requires this behavior on a pub-level.

The people who design those items are not the ones working on the other areas in the game fixing bugs or improving gameplay.
They could fire the item designers and hire people to fix their game.
Yeh, noticed that too. I runed around that place more than once and never noticed him since I started playing again. Then, one day I was like “I need to spend my tokens!” and … yeah. I was quite surprised.
The scavenger hunt part is … fun. Not super great, but fun. I would actually like something like that as “weekly”, where you get such tasks randomly assigned for some reward.
The crafting part on the other hand is plain stupid, boring and frustrating. The time I would have to invest to gather all this crap would probably better invested in … ANYTHING else that is actually fun. Why the heck has there to be “content” that is simply not fun?
(edited by Cyrotek.7019)
I would say it is worth it if I count in the time I had fun with it and compare it to other games. Yet it started to frustrate me recently, so I went back to the “normal” game mostly.
I would probably buy it again but wait for a sale or so.
It isn’t hard to make gold fast. It is just annoying and boring as hell.
I aggree. I even think more people would buy this stuff if it wasn’t “all or nothing”.
I like them. I usually do them when I wait for a Meta Event to start, because Meta Wars.
But I do not need every single mastery at maximum. So I do not feel forced to do them.
On that note, I don’t understand the point with having to do them for legendaries. One has to do basically every kind of content for a legendary, no matter if he likes it or not. Ask me about WvWvW.
I do not understand why the title has to be against other players, who just want to play like intended.
Time != Difficulty.
My personal problem with the addon is, that I have to plan my day around its content. Also that I need an (external) timer annoys me to no end. This plus that it seems like achieving anything addon related takes forever.
The content itsself isn’t hard.

The icons themselves simply do not look very good at where they are placed. A little more decent design and a similar placement to the other badges would make them less annoying.
I also like her. She is clearly the best of those LS-Story characters.
Trying to take a shortcut to the lowest level in the Grove. Like, four times now, same spot.
This. I hate the Grove now.
There are seriously people who defend this kind of game design? O.o
Maybe slight changes to reflect changes in the world. But not LA-like. This is a waste of ressources.
lol troll? This is my honest opinion .
I finish LW season2 on thief engi ranger and mender never have any chance to heal.
What do you play though?
This topic isn’t about difficulty.
Taimi. I like her attitude and her voice.
Followed by Rytlock and Tybalt because Charr. Iam waiting for the inveitable return of Tybalt in Season 3.
Sounds to me like they listened to a few criers and expectet them to be the “majority”, thus getting surprised by the backlash.
An addon that doesn’t require you to plan your day around its shedules.
They seem to aim now at minorities of the playerbase. “Hardcore-”Raids? Minority. E-Sports? Minority. Hard Open World encounters with “Taxi-Design”? Minority plus the majority forced.
If every last person in a map needs to be doing the meta for it to even have a chance of succeeding, then that is very poor and foolish game design.
Not every person needs to be involved. The problem is, that they scale those events up while not participating. This is one of the reasons, why the TD fails most of the times. The scaling is simply kittened up and events get scaled with players that are doing something entirely else nearby.
I actually like such symbols to show, was someone achieved. But the placement of this one is … not exactly optimal.
I do not play pure Zerk Revenant and I like it a lot more because Iam not getting oneshotet all the time. But Iam not playing raids, so …
NOOOOOOOOOO. I like jumping puzzles.
I mean, GW2 is the only MMO I know where jumping actually has an point and is not just there to annoy other players!
I absolutely agree. It was nice at the start, but it got dull pretty fast and now it feels like work. Iam now at a point where I do the old content again because it does not force me to do things at certain times so I can play at my pace and do not have to plan my day around the game.
Especially Dragon Stand has to be changed. It should at least only start its timer when the event chain is triggered, not when the map opened.
(edited by Cyrotek.7019)
I actually agree on that Dragon Stand point or those timed events in general. It is pretty bad design that you have to plan up to nearly four hours (miss the invite phase for taxis for DS and you can wait till it starts next time) ahead for open world content which is mandatory for a lot of things.
Was there any design like this in the base game? I remember that it was more like “come when you want, do what you want”. Now the game tells you when you have to play certain things.
(edited by Cyrotek.7019)
Too bad you need this stuff for several ascended items which are needed for ordinary stuff like fractals and the raid (or so I heard, never did higher level fractals because of not enough agony resistance because of not enough ascended items …).
