Vanishing Guild Banners [Title Changed]

I’ve seen banners get attacked by Mobs on two maps. Malchor’s Leap and Ember Bay. The one in Ember Bay was interesting in that after I saw it get hit a few times, the banner went away. I don’t know how long the banner had been there nor if the person that placed it just happened to leave the instance while I was watching. But, it looked like it was killed by a Mob. I don’t know how long the one in ML survived as I didn’t stick around.

Please fix these.

Which scraps & logs are the “kitten” ones? Have to love that filter. I can’t seem to locate any near the prices that you mentioned.

People already farm the wood nodes directly. I’m guilty of it. If there were cloth nodes, I’d grab them as well. Which would at least in theory create more supply.

+1 to allocating stats where the player chooses. I wouldn’t even have a problem with keeping the same system already used for trait lines, just separating the traits from the stat system entirely. Point caps are already there, stat clusters already there, boon duration and profession skill recharge already there for those concerned, and people who feel they would need to change their equipment because of the stat changes have less reason for concern.

That sounds good to me. However, I’m also thinking that a possible reason for adding the stats to armor is that legendary armor would actually make some sense from a stat swapping standpoint.

If we still had the option of adding things like 300 power, 300 precision, 300 ferocity as easily as we can change trait lines now, then I don’t see where legendary armor stat swapping would be worth much. Keep in mind that an ascended set currently gives stats of: primary 329, secondary 235. Example 329 power, 235 precision, 235 ferocity.

So, one can adjust their stats more now (in raw numbers) by trait lines than one can by swapping to a different set of armor if you leave runes out of the picture.

Don’t know if anyone mentioned it, but the engineer rifle skill jump shot is a boon for people who can’t jump.

A workaround: You can jump past the gate from the level just above the gate. You’ll need to get to the next level above the gate and then go back downhill a little until you’re clear of the fence and jump at an angle. At least it worked for me about a month ago.

We have just a balanced daily, the same number of options per game mode.

IMO…The game modes would need to have approximately equal amount of content for this setup to actually be balanced. The original amounts per mode were much more representative of balanced.

It’s chewing WP fees too. WP to a map on that server, it takes the silver/copper and you get kicked out of the game and end up on the same map that you started on.

What type of crafting mats are skill points going to be turned into? T1-t6? Philo stones, crystals, augar stone, etc?

I certainly hope that isn’t the case. Reason: RNG.

I’d like to think that they’ll convert them to some other currency. Which leads to a question: will they take up inventory space or be included in the wallet?

To be fair, its the same when buying a precursor really. I spent almost 300 gold on the precursor for “The Minstrel” and it dropped down to 180 gold shortly after they announced precursor crafting. I was annoyed yea, but it just made it way easier to get another one(Which i do plan on doing), and im not even asking for the price of silk to be lowered. Id like an easier way to get the other cloth materials though.

A precursor probably wasn’t a good item to use for comparison here. The main difference is that I get cloth every day from drops. I certainly can’t say that about precursors. Hence, precursors don’t provide any of the income that I mentioned.

I do get your point though. You’d be annoyed.

Edit: I’ll go further and say that I believe some would be annoyed to the point of making a post along the lines of: I was robbed.

Quite the opposite. I would love to see stronger security measures enforced, but (as apparent in this thread) people are very resistant to added security because it inconveniences them.

To quote myself from a previous post on this page

I would love to see an enforcement of longer, more complex passwords, and making 2-factor authentication mandatory. But I know most people seem to prefer their accounts being stolen over being slightly inconvenienced or having to take responsibility for their own security with smarter password practices.

And even in the post you quoted and replied to:

So, no. I am not against extra security measures. I’m against people being dumb and not properly using the ones given to them. RMT/account theft would be a much smaller problem if people would just start being smarter with passwords. There are plenty of free/very cheap options (Lastpass premium is $12/year) to help you keep track of complex and unique passwords.

Did I mention stronger anywhere? Or other security measures beyond PIN? The point of the sentence that you cherry picked is what appears to be a failed attempt to make it clear that a PIN is not the point of my post. I was simply aiming to get it off the table and talk about a place to store gold in an account.

Pin aside, as you seem to be very set against people having an extra security measure available. Most of the requests about bank gold storage seem to be the result of the guild bank (not mail) withdraw limit. And there is no pin on the guild banks. People obviously use them and it would be a much better option to have this “in” ones account. That way it too could be rolled back (unlike guild storage). I can’t even imagine it taking much to add back to the normal bank as it was already there in the past.

Well, they could make a gem shop item that gives you a pin protected bank. I can even imagine being able to have multiple “piggy banks” along the lines of bank expansions. Or even one for each bank expansion that you have. Who knows, it could create some gem sales.

Now I won’t be able to do this as readily, but then again I guess at most I would lose is 500g to a hacker if I catch it within the weeks time.

Here’s my interpretation: If someone hacked your account with say 2000g in it. They could send 500g to 4 of their own accounts (or customer accounts). They could actually send 500g x4 to one account but it would take 4 weeks to pull the gold out of the mail into the wallet. The money is sent without issue (your 2k gold is gone), the limit is only on taking it out of the mail. The above is assuming you had the 2k gold in your wallet. If that same 2k was in your personal guild gold storage, then they would only be able to take 500g out.

I don’t recall anyone else mentioning it but point 7 is bugging me. A future change could be changing the amount to less than 500g per week.

bugged legendary collector achievement

Probably it is because I not select stats on Sunrise and only soulbind. Now i have 4 legendary crafted. Bifrost, Sunrise, Twilight and Eternity. But on Legendary Collector achievement i have only 3/4 not 4/5.

I just happen to have a shiny new legendary (non-GS) that I account bound without picking stats on and I did get credit in the collection. In addition, it has not been equipped.

It’s not 100% clear so I’m going to ask if you’ve account bound Bifrost.

I really enjoyed the beta stress test!

The only stress I noticed was my own. I wanted to do everything possible in the test which caused me some stress early on.

I did experience a disconnect but it was due to my ISP. It resets a few times a day which just happed to occur during the test.

Most of the items I wanted to give feedback on have been covered already.

I’m not sure if anyone mentioned the jump dialog that showed up as “Jump [F]” for the bouncing mushrooms. F is not my jump key and I seem to recall F not working where the jump key did. Minor detail but it may be the cause of some not being able to use the mushrooms even after getting experience into the mastery.

Along the same lines, the Plant Bomb dialog would stay up even after the ordinance would auto deploy. So, I found myself trying to deploy what was no longer in my hands.

Glider! I really enjoyed it. I ended up somewhere in the stratosphere at one point and I have no idea how I ended up that high above the map. Flying around with it was very intuitive and I had no issues controlling it.

Please let my revenant out of beta jail !!! I really want to use it in other maps right now

I’ve had it happen too. I’ve actually found it to be mildly amusing.

One time that it happened, it was on a human character that has completed the personal story. This instance differs from those on another character as this time I did a complete logout (logout→logout) to reset a graphics glitch. I’d entered Diessa from Black Citadel portal and was only there for possibly 15 seconds before logout. I ended up by the portal to Wayfarer Foothills.

On the other character that I’ve experienced this on that’s norn, it’s happened in Cursed Shore and Lion’s Arch. For Cursed Shore, I was on the middle set of steps in Promenade of the Gods and I ended up by the entrance from Malchor’s Leap. And again while next to the Arah dungeon portal which also landed me by the entrance from Malchor’s Leap. I was guesting to other servers. For Lion’s Arch, I was fairly close to the Mystic Forge and ended up close to where the Mystic Forge was before Scarlett attacked. In this instance, I’d logged out to reset some items so they’d stack again.

In case it matters, I have the content guide turned off. So I have no idea if anything it may be pointing to is relevant.

“New work, items, content etc will not be given to players so they can get it instantly based on past work” How about new legendary weapons that were announced? Or the new content that was ascended gear. Those with plenty of gold were even able to bypass the time gate for ascended items. Which leaves me to believe that they want people to do things in a specific area. So, new content comes along, and let’s say they use crests again. If I don’t like the new content, what’s to stop me from going to Silverwastes to earn them for the new rewards? In essence, defeating the purpose of new currencies.

Dungeon tokens are not at a fixed value in relation to gold. One can use them in different ways and get different amounts of gold out of them. For one particular use, the value of them has gone down over time. I suspect that with a cap that value would just go down faster as people wouldn’t hoard them any longer resulting in more supply. Which does make them competitive depending on how they are used.

If we’re going to get a cap, I’d greatly prefer it if things that can be converted into gold are not capped.

Following that line of reasoning I believe that gold would also have to be capped. I recall a post some time back (possibly over a year ago) where a person bought every legendary weapon in the game with gold earned in game. The figure of 60K+ gold comes to mind as to what they made on the TP. That is a huge jump. And I’ve since heard others say that they have more on-hand than that 60k figure.

The more I think about it, the less I like the idea of caps.

Even if there is a cap and old currencies are re-used, then people will hoard them. Put it this way, when I finish getting everything I want with a currency, then I’ll max it out and leave it that way for the next thing that comes along that will use it. I don’t see it solving anything as I’ll still have a head start.

From a QOL perspective, how about making a collections tab for new currencies? If you think about it you may come to the conclusion that everything in collections are already currencies. Would be a kind of cap without an actual hard cap if one wanted to use normal bank space for more.

I don’t even see how karma belongs in this discussion. It’s a different animal – game wide like gold. Unless you propose a cap on gold too.

My view at this point: Just say no to CAPS

Stuck at grove loading screen

I had a similar issue. My first thought was to guest to another server before logging in with that character. It didn’t help. What seemed to help was adding the -maploadinfo switch to the gw2 command line. It was a while back so I may have actually added the -maploadinfo switch in combination with guesting.

I’ve also seen this happen at Temple of Lyssa. I was suspicious about it not showing the unknown hits but I wasn’t 100% certain. That is until I showed up for Lyssa one day and was downed right off the bat. The last thing in the log that hit me was the high wizard at the gates of arah in cursed shores.

What event completion showed 300 karma? A guess here is that the event gave 302 karma and you have 8% account bonus. That does come out to 326.

The big question is how much karma was added to your wallet.

Defaulting to max position would be very nice. Making the max vertical bar/area of the slider quite a bit wider would also be nice. Sometimes trying to click max on the slider results in a few shy of max. Resulting in more clicks or even more transactions to complete the sale. I’d like to think that causing more transactions isn’t one of the goals of the new design. Seems if max was the default, that the top part showing the item price should also reflect max items times vendor price.

I normally sell items at lowest seller price. An option to make that the default would also be a nice QoL adjustment.

I found a way that I think is nicer than using the slider to get to max that works most of the time. Click the default highlighted highest buyer item in the bottom left box. It will toggle the number of items you want to sell up to the lower of: max of what you have to sell or the max being purchased at that price. Has a very good success rate of hitting the max so far.

For selling at lowest seller price, I click the default highest buyer price to max out the slider and then click the lowest seller price.

Minor rune of dwayna also seems to be involved. I tried to sell it from two characters and it always crashes TP. Moved it to bank and other character and back to original character a few times and it always crashes on this item.

It appears that selling on TP crash has something to do with foxfire clusters in inventory. I tried moving them to another character but that one was still working fine. Then I moved them back to the original character that gathered them and TP crashes again.

Same here. But, only on one out of 8 characters.

It also crashes if I go straight to TP and scroll through items I’ve sold. This is on any character that I’ve tried it on.

You mentioned that you have not leveled crafting at all on most of your characters. In case you don’t know, you’d really only want to level crafting of a specific crafting profession on one character. For example only level weaponsmith on one character. And each character can have 2 active crafting professions by default. In my case, I use my guardian for Armorsmith & Weaponsmith. Mesmer for Artificing & Tailoring. I don’t repeat those crafting profession on any other characters. If I need heavy armor on my warrior, I craft it with my guardian.

I didn’t notice anyone reply to your query as to converting gems to gold. Open BLTC (B key), select the currency exchange tab and then click the big area that’s labeled Trade Gems for Gold.

Hate to burst your bubble but it seems like what they were saying is that you can see the pickup box no matter which tab of the TP you’re using. It really doesn’t seem to say that the manner in which you get items from the TP has changed.

Can one turn with keyboard turning while immobilized? I use mouse turning and I never seem to remember to try this when I’m actually immobilized.
