Man, I hope not. I’m just getting back into the game, and now I learn that one of my favorite classes is getting nerfed into uselessness. I am pretty sad.
I engaged it, and it emediately teleported on top of a nearby tree where it was unreachable, then despawned a few seconds after that and has yet to respawn.
Yep. Just got my second invis mushroom spore today, and it gave me the achieve for the chronomancer one. So it is alphabetical.
There’s 9 different spores. One for each weapon collection. And it’s random which one you get until all the specs have the spore, then it stops dropping.
I think you only get the spore once per day per map you killed the mushroom.
I don’t think that’s accurate. They all have the same name and thumbnail image. Plus, as I said before, the second time I killed the treasure mushroom it didn’t give me another one. presumably because I already had gotten it, even though it only gave me credit for one of the achievements.
I grinded out The Nuac stealth detection just so I could get this item, because i really want the Specialization weapons. I have all the specialization collection achievements unlocked except Reaper, Chronomancer, and Druid. Yet when i killed the treasure mushroom and looted the Invisible Mushroom Spore, it only gave me credit for "Wild Abandon, which is the one weapon I really don’t care about. I got on another character and killed another treasure mushroom but it didn’t give me another item, nor credit. I put the original Spore in my bank and then placed it in the bags of another character, and still didn’t get credit.
Please, please fix this. I really want to get “Bo.” The Spore was one of the last items I needed.
I don’t know how you all are making all this gold you claim to be from doing events in HoT maps. That’s all I have done since I came back in order to get my masteries up, and I haven’t made even a fraction of the gold you all say you have. Do you have more specific advice for how to make gold off of these events?
I came back to the game for HoT, and found that my traditional way of making gold: running dungeons, has been completely gutted. While I am still at a loss as to why A-net would do this, I have to ask: how do I make gold now? I absolutely hate farming and crafting. I only craft because I have to in order to get ascended gear. But it seems that A-net has now made it a requirement to farm mats endlessly for hours on end if you ever want to have more than 10 gold. How is that fun? Is there a better way?
I don’t play games to do boring tedious tasks like farming mats for 10 hours. I get enough of that type of thing at my actual job.
You were fine with the player channeling Mallyx, but Shiro is just too much to comprehend?
that screenshot is not Shiro……it’s a Revenant…..
Um….because Shiro does look Canthan……
The picture you provided is not Shiro, it’s a picture of a Revenant. This is Shiro:
All he said was “challenging content.” That is enormously vague, so don’t get too excited yet, because it could mean anything.
I agree with you OP, I hate that they completely took away the hobosacks. I’m glad for everyone who hated them but Engi lost some appeal for me. I have hardly touched it since the update where it was my main toon before.
You have these:
you want your hobosack back?

or if you want a kitten verson

there everybody is happy.
Everyone keeps throwing around the 40 man number, and then using it’s unreasonability as proof that we don’t need GW2 raids. But what supporter of raids said anything about 40 mans? 40 man raids are terrible. They are hard to get enough people to complete, maintain that number throughout the raid (cause people are going to rage-quit) and even harder to organize even when everything goes right.
The vast number of we who are asking for raids, are asking for 10 man raids at the least, 25 man at the very maximum. Those are the perfect size raids in any mmo; you don’t need any more people than 25, and 10 is the best size.
I just did an open world boss. There were so many people on top of her I couldn’t even see her. Was just blindly dpsing.
Not sure how anybody sees that as a fun mechanic.
It’s not, that’s why world bosses are not an acceptable alternative to raids. Yes, triple trouble is as close as a world boss can get in that it requires at least a small bit of organization. But that’s just it, a small bit. You don’t have to be in teamspeak to communicate, no one has very specific roles that they have to stick to or the entire event fails. You can just show up, follow any random group, change which group you follow at any time, auto-attack everything and still get your loot.
Yes, it very much needs instanced raids. World bosses do not, nor ever will cut it.
I would say that The Charr are the most powerful. However, the humans have been able to hold them off for 250 years, so there is more to it than just technology and numbers; tenacity if a powerful force.
Even though the Asuran are highly technologically advanced, I think if it came to conflict between them and the Charr Legions, the Charr would win, hands down. If only because the Charr are far more experienced in warfare, and are close enough to the level of technological advancement of the Asura as to make little difference. Not to mention the Charr have far more numbers than the Asura.
To become Khan-Ur, one must be descended from the original Khan-Ur. All such descendants are in the prime warband of the legions – in other words, in Smodur’s, Bangar’s, and Malice’s warbands.
Unless, of course, that’s yet another thing they’ve decided to retcon/will retcon.
We know nothing about Rytlock’s past, he could very well be a descendant of the Original Khan-Ur. We do know that his relationship with both his warband, and his people (the blood legion) is strained. Which is why he seems much closer to the Iron Legion. He was, after all, a part of an Iron Legion warband when we first met him in the book, and when Logan asked about it, he didn’t want to talk about it. It’s entirely plausible that Rytlock is the brother of Bangar Ruinbringer, and that they don’t exactly see eye to eye, which could open up a story involving a struggle for power, and ultimately Rytlock gaining control of the Blood Legion, and eventually all three Legions.
What? I can’t hear anyone over the sound of my engineer actually doing well in dungeon and Fractal groups.
I am primarily a dungeoneer, and I have never been kicked out of a dungeon or Fractal group for playing an engi, ever. Only once in 3 years has any group asked me if I could switch to a meta class, and when I said “no,” they said “ok” and we finished the dungeon.
Don’t join groups that advertise “zerker meta” or any specific classes. If you do and then get kicked, well duh.
So in short: I call shenanigans.

Not finished.
We need minis of those two as well.
Sigh…if only Forgal was there to see how easy Zhaitan goes down.
“What the hell? I died for this? That’s it, fly the ship closer! I’m jumping on that dragon and stabbing it’s face off!”
“Forgal, no! You don’t even know if you’re able to reach it!”
“I DON’T CARE!”
Shortly after….
Zhaitan : Ow ow ow ow ow confetti ow—hey, what that noise—oh no….
Forgal : rrrrrRRRRAAHHH! (lands on Zhaitan’s head and starts stabbing)
Zhaitan : No, NO! Not my face—my eyyyyeeesss, MY EYES! (falls off to his death)
+1
That would have been 10,000 times better than the ending we got.
There aren’t any abnormally large baddies, but Rytlock has a unique face that cannot be duplicated nor appears on any other NPC. Although not a “bad guy” (yet), Rytlock has a lot of similarities to Garrosh, honestly, and I think those similarities are only going to increase as the living world progresses.
Not really. Rytlock can be quite rational, and stand within the same room as somebody he hates without instantly leaping into combat. Garrosh, in one scene I remember seeing and hearing about, literally leapt axe drawn at a human the second the human entered the room. Garrosh was quite stupid (Sending all his escorts to attack an Alliance fleet, causing his own air fleet to be completely destroyed by dragons), irrational, and very prone to rage and angry.
Rytock I would never compare to Garrosh. I honestly don’t even see how you see them being alike.
I didn’t say they were identical, just have similar qualities. Or rather will have similar qualities; it seems that Rytlock is going to be heading up some kind of xenophobic crusade against the sylvari cause they “can’t be trusted.” I would bet money that Rytlock becomes the new Kahn-ur either by the end of this x-pac or the beginning of the next, and when that happens he is going to get more aggressive. But yes, Rytlock is far calmer and more intelligent that Garrosh.
I get mine by doing this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQJAoYhcMoyhFOwzB8RM0AY0RoG8DkCQAIGWZhrwUA-TFTHABJpcYRVIcSJ4P7P0nqINpkrQ1EgTLAY6AAUlABOBAA8AAAA-w
Displacement needs a longer cooldown, not terribly much longer, like maybe 10 secconds but getting constantly displaced while fighting a couple revenants is so painfully annoying that it makes PvP terrible.
Necro is not a bad class, I think it’s just infected by bad players.

But let us not forget the awesomness that was Forgal Kernsson!
….any groups asking for “zerker” or “experienced” players do so with the intention of finishing the dungeon quickly by using strategies that eliminate the need for a dedicated tank and healer.
By dodging. They eliminate the need for a healer by dodging.
Legendary effect with Barrage need to be baseline, it’s ridiculous that they only ever worked with the “grenadier” trait anyways.
For that matter, legendary auras need to work when you have a kit equipped as well.
I hate stonghold!
Please keep PvE in PvE, thanks.
I did say that maybe I just suck, so calm your nerd-rage glands people.
Shatter mesmers i don’t find all that OP, cause you just have to dodge their big shatters, it’s really the perma-stealth condi lockdown mesmers I find to be extremely difficult. Really, maybe it’s just the perma-stealth ability, that shouldn’t be possible by any class.
Dungoens do not love tanky or supporty classes/ builds. The meta (high DPS) exists for a reason: it will always be faster and more effective to run dungeons with a full DPS group, and the Revenant didn’t have access to it’s power DPS legend yet, only condition, tanky, and healer legends. All of which is not even close to desired or really useful in dungeons.

The Engineer’s rifle is neither good nor a rifle. It uses the rifle skin, but it’s a horrible mishmash of junk that has no idea what it wants to be or do. Three of five Engineer Rifle skills are gap-openers/control skills to help the thing keep its distance…then the autoattack is a weak Power attack and its big-damage skill is a point-blank Condition attack?
What. The. Actual. Gahkitten . Hell.
It’s a complete disgrace, and it’s also not a rifle. Now, it’s cool if the PvP guys have made the weapon class work on the character, but the Engineer rifle honestly feels, to me, like it’s more akin to what staff is for most everyone who uses staff – a collection of loosely related gimmicks tied together into a weapon which is described as “produces whatever we feel like because magic”, except in this case it’s not magic, it’s gadgets. That’s great for Engineers, which are a gadgety class, and I understand why the Engineer’s rifle is a whacky gadget-stick instead of a proper rifle…
But that doesn’t make it a rifle. Or good. Not when the big-punch skill on the gahkitten thing is completely 100% counter to every non-AA skill the thing has.
You have eloquently summed up my feelings on the engineer rifle. You should post this there.
I can say, although revenants can be annoying to fight, they aren’t a challenge., they need more damage. That being said; their main damage legend has yet to be revealed.
i played and tried a bunch of different builds on rev. best build i found was condi or cele mace/axe jallis/mallyx, but even that felt weak under focus fire. and then i got on engineer and ele to do my daily pvp. i fought a number of revenants. sometimes 1v2 or 1v3. granted they are comletely new at the profession, but i felt absolutely no pressure at all. And i LOVE getting displaced. the skill is only good for getting rid of ressers, otherwise it’s dumb…. it moves you OUT of the Torment AOE. I felt like thanking them every time they used it on me.
Oh, it’s not Overpowered in terms of damage of anything, it’s just purely annoying,
Sorry, confused one ele trait, fixed it though.
Seemingly Tons of healing, Infinite stealth, seemingly infinite teleports plus crazy condition damage seems to be a bit too much. I don’t know though, maybe I just suck.
(edited by Gern.2978)
Just a small bit: The ability in the malik stance that displaces the enemy needs a longer cooldown. being constantly teleported all over the place when fighting a revenant is mind blowingly annoying.
I really hope we get rifle so i can finally use my hunter rifle skin since it would fit a thief more than a warrior or engi
While I am very much in the pro thief-rifle camp: how exactly does a rifle not fit an engineer?
Well it doesn’t fit engineer because the auto attack fires from the hip, which is a pretty bad way to aim a precision firearm. Warrior it makes some sense though. Somone who isn’t an amazing archer might opt for a firearm, since they require less training to be effective with a firearm.
Don’t think of it as a rifle when Engineers are using it, it’s meant to be a shotgun, as the #3 skill can attest to.
The grand piaza is not where everyone hung out in pre-broken Lions Arch. Everyone hung out in the trade district, around the mystic forge and outside the bank, and if you look around Lions Arch you will see that is exactly where everyone hangs out again.
I honestly think it’s fair that only the people who pre-purchased can beta test stuff for HoT. But I still won’t pre-purchase anything until I get a release date.
….Freed Orrians……
I have to say: please no. It’s way too cliche’. I was a little annoyed by the inclusion of undead as enemies in the first place, because it seems that undead are the bad guys in every fantasy series nowadays. And playable risen are way to reminiscent of the Forsaken from WoW.
Outfits are the solution, because they’re not limited to armor weight class. My Warrior and Mesmer can have the same looks once I apply an outfit. Best of all, they don’t require transmutations. It’s buy once and free forever!
Now on the discussion of more options, yes I agree there should be more. I want a schoolgirl outfit for my male norn Guardian, and speedos for my manly human Thief. If these outfits are put in the Gem Store, Anet won’t know what to do with all the money they’ll make.
Jokes about speedoes and schoolgirl outfits aside: outfits are not the solution, mostly because I want armors that are aquireable in game, not gem store purchases, I want to be able to mix and match pieces (gloves from one set, shoulders from another, etc), and there are only a handful of outfits. I am tired of outfits, it’s time A-net gave us more armors in game.
We already have this. You can buy Outfits from the Gem Store, and they’ll replace the looks of your current armor.
That’s not even close to the same as what we are talking about and you know it.
Stop coming from WoW and then saying that GW2 should be more like WoW. If you want to play a game like WoW, maybe you should play WoW.
That being said: Playable Tengu or riot!
I agree, and also along those lines I want some of the male versions of medium armor for female characters. The male sneakthief coat is awesome, but when a female character puts it on it becomes a freaking Bra! I know a lot of people like that, but I would like an option to wear the male versions of armor on female characters, and maybe visa versa.
Also, light armor suffers a similar problem: Almost every piece of light armor is a freaking dress. We need more light armor diversity.
I really hope we get rifle so i can finally use my hunter rifle skin since it would fit a thief more than a warrior or engi
While I am very much in the pro thief-rifle camp: how exactly does a rifle not fit an engineer?
It’s painfully annoying to DC, or have any PC issues during tequatl. We essentially get punished for it by getting put into an underpopulated or fresh map, with absolutely no hope of killing Teq, once we get back in the game. Surely there is a way they could save your spot on the sever for just a minute or so.
D/D Ele is master race.
