They said already at HoT release that it would be. Going forward each expansion will be released for free, and the next exp will include the previous ones.
If they keep their word F2P player would get HoT at next expo drop.
They won’t give HoT for free to F2P-players, but it will be included when you buy the second expansion
Um.. Anet still is going after Elder Dragons but they are leaving that for big expansions while they touch on other and very interesting subjects in Living World seasons.
Shouldn’t you ask for feedback before changing the Gemstore? It’s a cluttered mess and provides a bad user experience, especially for new players. The old design was more simple and clear to navigate through. I have a feeling Anet tried too hard and failed in the process just like when they designed the new PvP lobby. Anet is trying to be something they simply are not.
Make it another 5 please
Dont worry, as long as the dragons dont have tentacles we’re safe.
Yeah and what about the Jade Maw ?
Just noticed that these Svanir’s don’t move or react to me when I attack them.

It’s not a cloak. Gw2 devs have stated time and time again that they are unable to add cloaks to the game due to the limitations of the way they implemented character models and the plethora of clipping issues it would derive from them. Imagine the cloak on a Charr. It would take them months to figure out how to make it work and i’m not sure they can at all at this point or they would have by now. Cloaks will never be in the game.
You’re in for a surprise
If you can run the forum then you can run the game
Just wait until they add the Wizard’s Tower as a Raid and then there will be an ascended headpiece drop which is a better version of the current Wizard Hat which also shows your original hair.
I prefer playing solo whenever I do raids, but when I’m doing story instances I’d rather go with the meta composition.
Sorry to disappoint you, but no. Every character that has 4 years and 364 days will be permanently deleted and you have to start over again. A fifth birthday is not allowed!
I kill all Raid bosses on a weekly basis and I do T4 Fractals maybe every day of the week.
But most likely with ppl you know. And T4 fractals don’t necessarily attract ppl with vastly different player skills.
Pickup group consisting if Mr I-know-everything who hasn’t found a regular group because of his attitude and a bunch of inexperienced ppl joined from the LFG trying to tackle something difficult. That’s where you find hostility. This scenario is also universal throughout all games.
I have never had such a thing like a static group that I can get easy kills with every week. I am a guild leader, and we don’t raid yet. I have over 100 boss kills simply because some gracious commanders let me join their group even though I had nothing to show them that I could raid, yet I proved them that I could simply by practicing my profession hard. Not all raiders are bad, or elitist, or toxic; and sure I have encountered some, but there’s more good than bad. Start small and gradually climb the ladder.
Aslong as you are dedicated, and brave to walk through the shadow, you will always find light at the end of your path.
Oh yes there’s plenty of people who want to have fun. Even the elitists have fun while using DPS meters.
I kill all Raid bosses on a weekly basis and I do T4 Fractals maybe every day of the week. I am in the perfect environment to find elitism with DPS meters, yet I haven’t. (And I pug everything.)
So I don’t know how you got this idea? Cause I can’t see this hostility.
Talk about overreacting to an extremely minor nerf.
Do you even play Warrior?
I main Warrior, ever since I began. I play it everywhere.. PvP, WvW, Raids, Dungeons, Fractals.. you name it!
But today, my heart broke. The first time I saw Arc Divider cast.. the Warrior inside me died. Thank you Anet.. really.
Greatsword feels horrible, they ruined it. I dislike the rhytm it has now, thank you Anet.
Not a fan either, and it would be distracting from the combat having to change while fighting.
I would prefer some clipping.
Mainly because it just looks weird to have a floating shield. Another thing that worries me is the shine on the Heavy set, it doesn’t seem to be very reactive to different dye colors.
Oh no it’s too hard to do something, please Anet make it easier just for me.
It’s not hard, it’s just boring and it’s making me not want to play. I did everything 3lse because it involved content that is enjoyed, but this… In any case, 8 can see it won’t be changed, I’m sorry for wasting everyone’s time here. I’ll go back to my hole and find something else to spend my time on.
Not everything in this game has to be fun for you. Sometimes you need to accept how it is and just go for it, this is what makes you legendary. It is those who embrace every mode of GW2 that benefit the most from this game, and will last the longest without ever getting bored or demotivated.
No. You want open-world PvP? Go play Black Desert Online, or just enter WvW.
If they don’t want to add more Legendary armors they could always have auras, individual armor pieces, minis, weapon skins, etc.
And all of these things already exist as a reward from raids
I’m not in favor of the steampunk Charr cities, it’s a disgrace to what they were built upon. Nor am I a fan of how the Asuran designs turned out, there once was a time where they almost had a Mayan feeling to it, and even their high-tech golems looked old.
The Norn have become lackluster aswell. Remember Jora? She was a cool Norn.
And don’t get me started about the Sylvari, they’re so cheesy… (except Canach, he’s cool.)
Ever since HoT released the designs of Anet have become more and more thorny and unbalanced, it stings the eye when I look at it. Often I find myself wanting to speak to whoever made an outfit design and ask them Are you really serious?
But to end this rant, I’ll try to put reasoning to it.
GW1 was more serious and mature as a game, while GW2 is catered for kids.
Just a thought…
a rework of dungeons into a guild mission (or multi-guild mission / co-op mode) where you complete all explore path at the same time. This could revitalize dungeons or maybe even revamp the paths to include skills for the mobs that pull from both xpacs.
also, a possibility to unlock a dungeon instance as a guild hall. They are plenty big enough and already in the game. Let’s face it – CoE is absolutely perfect for this idea.
Interesting idea to make Guild Halls out of the old Dungeon instances. It would give us more choices for different types of themes.
However, the Dungeons are build on such a horrible code that Anet fired whoever made it. And they refrain from touching that code as it just causes more mess.
So changing that into a Guild Hall… I’m not sure Anet would try.
I don’t care about it and will not be purchasing it, for the first time since Guild Wars Prophecies.
Lol why so salty? I’ll buy it and have fun playing new things.
Warning! | This post will contain information about Episode 5.
In Episode 5 we discover that Taimi has found a new theory about what will happen if Elder Dragons are defeated, or what will happen if two are put up against eachother.
Visualized in a simmulation we can see that Tyria venturing out of balance and eventually ending with the destruction of the planet.
This made me remember a book in the Durmand Priory which I had read during Living World Season 2 about the Apostate. (The Apostate is a Margonite who has veered away from Abaddon’s path and who is now an outcast among his people.)
It says the following…
If you’re not mistaken, this ancient tome was written by someone known as the Apostate. It appears to describe something similar to what you saw in your vision of the Eternal Alchemy.
The author calls it the Antikytheria, describing it as a cosmic mechanism made of many parts, all spinning around a central body known in ancient Krytan as Thyria.
Six large bodies orbit the world, existing in primal symbiosis. The energies move with the push and pull of positive and negative, ever in motion.
The Apostate says one thing that is especially troubling… “Should the energies become imbalanced, the world will tilt and all beings will fall off it into the void.” It’s probably a metaphor.
This prediction from the Apostate comes in line with Taimi’s theory. Could we then conclude that Abaddon was also aware about this eventual outcome? Considering that whatever the Apostate knew probably also was known to his God.
And if yes; then could it back up some of the earlier theories about Abaddon and why he gifted magic to humans? Could it perhaps explain his motivations to release it, and reasons to become angered when the other Five Gods took it away?
Another thing I would like to add to this post, but which isn’t much related to the above, is that I have a certain feeling that the Six Gods arrived on Tyria much like a blank paper. They were magically adept beings who were drawn by the magic on Tyria which seeped out from the Elder Dragons, but upon arrival they had a different and not as prominent identity as we believe them to have now.
It was only when they began to consume the magic from the Elder Dragons that their forms began to shape to the vision of the source, combined with traits still lingering from their original state, which makes us unable to make a 100% connection between Elder Dragons and the Gods.
Just a few ideas about the next elite specs we are getting.
I’m afraid they’ve already settled with these (and again, some look out of place, too futuristic/almost sci-fi like the elementalist, while some look okay):
Are you talking about the Holosmith? Cause that’s Engineer.
Elementalist is not with these pictures.
So then Anet would have to design a whole lot of new skins for ONE weapon that only ONE class can use? Yeah that’s smart!
I’d like to see actual content and new mechanics, instead of focusing on how your character looks like.
I had that problem aswell.
I kicked them.
Now my problem is gone.
RIP in piece TP (2012-2017)
3/>
You just said RIP (Rest in peace) twice, and you misspelled ’’piece’’.
This sounds like a bad idea.
What? This is not some Forex daytrading, it’s a game.
I think the text limit is a bit too short, don’t you think?
I’m not a roleplayer but I would love that my character can sit in a chair properly.
I’m not mad about Anet getting hit by a power outtage and not being able to release the patch on the stated release day, it can happen. But Anet could atleast tell us that it won’t happen on Feb 7 for EU people (and it didn’t) so that we can just go to bed and stop waiting with hope that will only get a buzzkill. The ’’we’re working as hard as we can and will deliver it soon’’ just keeps moralizing these hopes.
For EU players it’s already getting very late, and many people have work tomorrow. I must say I’m quite disappointed by this delay.
oh dear QQ i´m quite disappointed by such attitude.
What attitude are you refering to? I’m just sharing my honest opinion. Doesn’t mean I have an attitude.
For EU players it’s already getting very late, and many people have work tomorrow. I must say I’m quite disappointed by this delay.
Nothing they can do. They can not control the weather! That’s like saying I am disappointed that the airline won’t fly me to Miami cause there is a hurricane.
They can’t control the weather, but everyone knows that if you’re hosting a server you should have backup electricity and maybe arrange things beforehand instead of letting us wait for over 5 hours on a patch day…
For EU players it’s already getting very late, and many people have work tomorrow. I must say I’m quite disappointed by this delay.
Usually you can expect a release at 17:00-18:00 CET. (GMT+1)
Count all the placed decorations, which you can see by hovering over a decoration in your guild storage tab!
See for yourself people!
>> Make precursor stuff for worn pillar & craft
>> While the worn pillars are in assembly, craft precursor stuff for sandstone pillar
>> While sandstone pillars …
>> While golden pillars …And if you have already everything prepared… do something else while the items are in the assembly ? You don’t have to stand next to it.
It takes 5 minutes to complete a fully slotted Assembly Line which is 10 decorations. And the total craft is 2 hours and 10 minutes. Would you go back every 5 minutes for 2 hours and 10 minutes just to put them in the line? It’s still takes too long whether you can do something else in the meantime or not.
So I’m about to craft 20 Gold Walls which, if I didn’t calculate it wrong, will take 2 hours and 10 minutes just for processing all the parts needed in the processing line.
Is 2 hours and 10 minutes really worth 20 Gold Walls? In my opinion the Scribing system needs to be revised and made less tedious.
I endorse the idea of adding Legendary Sigils/Runes for Legendary Weapons/Armor that have to be unlocked by achievements and can be swapped in and out at anytime by the use of a currency like Unbound Magic or Karma.
Who cares? Let them work on xpac2, way more important !
How many times have you actually tried Raiding? Have you killed any bosses, or tried several pug training groups? Did you read guides, watch videos and gear up accordingly before trying?
Because Raids really isn’t that hard if you simply learn how to do it, and there’s plenty of guilds and LFG’s that want to train a specific boss.
Hello fellow players! I am back again with yet another of my ideas.. This time it’s for Dungeons.
However, I posted it on Reddit and the link for it is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/5l35la/an_idea_to_renovate_dungeons/
You can comment on this thread aswell and discuss this topic here!
Connect all paths into one long path and give the bosses some new mechanics. Then call it Hard Mode and give a 2g reward at the end + some currency to get Ascended stuff and other shinies. Dungeons are saved!
