Seriously starting to ruin the game. Either implement a slider bar/check box to fix this or find another way. STOP NERFING VISUALS its the reason some of us play the class we do
I was on SoS but I will not kid myself and pretend to know the story that happened on there. Regardless, it is in the past and since not 100% of SoS went to SoR or BG I’m failing to see why we are bringing up only a X amount of guild transfers. Every server experiences at some point, guilds tranferring to it.
Another thing,
I’m sure each server has a wonderful community, otherwise the people on it wouldn’t stay there for however long they have been on there.
I’m currently on BG and am extremely happy with their community, does that mean its totally wonderful for everyone? No.
Have I spoken to people on SoR? Yes. They are also for the most part, just as friendly as BG players I’ve stumbled across.
Same for JQ players I have met on the field. Especially the ones who wave in greeting to me <3

Haha this guy you’re referring to is dedicated. And the several people you say reported him is nothing compared to the reports I and my buddy have on us fromSoR, and my own server TC for the whole stating in towers a couple months ago.

Clearly the people here who are calling it “fine” have never been trolled like what this guy is doing.
On Blackgate we activated it, was able to kill most of the bounties. We went to Gendarran fields for the one in the barrel. We searched for 10 minutes and no one was able to find a SINGLE barrel. That has never happened before. We also had one that was invunerable for an extended amount of time
Clearly path 3 was NOT tested properly. Horrible. My group couldnt finish. Half the time he woudlnt put up a bubble cause he was either interrupted or to busy finishing a hammer animation. It would be fine if we could dodge the falling rocks but its impossible
My guild tries to hold an event every week where we Keg Brawl. We have a blast but its really hard to get into the same map with how the system is set up. if you could please set it up like spvp where we can select a map it would really help us set it up better

Score update! Black gate is going strong. Great battle today in Kn bg. Took us a couple tries but we finally got garrison (we got wiped a few times by some strong resistance!)
ima have to say this but really it seemed like tc and bg united forces at kain BL they both attacked our garrison 2 hours straight, we had our 3 gates down for about 20 minutes and the fight at lords room was still going, all we could do was res lord and respawn and keep attacking, while TC and BG didnt kil each other but helped build siege inside garri to kill our defenders, PD i manged to sneak into bay for 2 hours with a mesmer, Kain could have portal bombed very easily but every one was busy at garrison, check better for mesmers next time :P
It will always seem like people are ganging up on you. Its to be expected when its on your own borderlands! We get beat up on ours sometimes as well from being hit on each side.
Anyhow keep up the good fighting everyone we are learning alot!
welcome Zedex I hope you have a great time. I really love this game, and find plenty to do. Some people find it hard to find things to do at level 80, but there are always things to do. It also helps that im a wvw player on a top tier server
Some of the comments against the developers in here are insulting. If you dont like the game fine, but quit calling the developers idiots just because you dont like the game as much as other people. There is a huge number of people who enjoy this game, including myself.
To the original topic. The game has some issues but I dont agree with many of the things youve said. The combat can have a huge ammount of depth. Specially if you play an engineer or an ele. Even the warrior has a minimum of 16 skills at one time. I constantly switch between other weapons depending on the situation. You dont need to have this huge bar of skills to choose from, when most of them are useless anyways. You claim there is a grind to guild wars. There is. Welcome to MMOs, depending on the game it can be disguised in many different forms
The sound bug (the one where all sounds are replaced with the waooooom waooom over and over) is occuring way to frequently. It is occuring in almost every claw of jormag fight and is occuring frequently in wvw. At first I could handle it but its to frequent now. Please fix this its been going on for 3 months
I personally really like my Engineer. I think we need some changes but we are far from broke or too weak to do anything.
Still i notice that in the world and particularly in my guild we have a lack of engineers. Myself and 3 other engs are the only active engineers in the guild. We are a guild of 320. Thats it. Also we have zero non level 80 engineers no one wants to roll one.

To each their own of course but I dont feel that way. SO many people feel like they need raiding. I feel like guild wars 2 will adapt something that will keep players going because it would seem players need that “carrot” in front of their face to continue to pursue.
Me and my friends are content with how it is. Sure there are flaws but I overall enjoy the design of the game. TO each their own of course. Also I uderstand the possible drop joy and I hope they do that as well its also nice to think “omg maybe I got an epic drop here!” but at the same time I enjoy the token system so maybe a combination? Like give the player the ability to either choose tokens at the end or loot the corpse. The corpse could have a chance at a sweet item, or you could take the guaranteed tokens.
This game cannot satisfy the need of those who want a carrot in front of their heads at all times. Other people dont desire that and thats the group that this game serves.
Guilds require commited leaders to work. My guild has a fantastic leader/officers that are constantly organizing things and handling situations. As such the guild is thriving
The game is improving on many aspects. By this time next year a good majority of things could be fixed.
I agree with what people have said. I dont understand the complaints for raids. Gear grinding is absurd to me. At first I loved it. The sense of a "carrot’ was great, until 3 months later in wow they released another dungeon and it all started again. Im not sure why people need an endless grind.
Also guilds are EXTREMELY useful. My guild has a very active leader that is constantly getting things going. We are always organized in wvwvw and do constant pve runs as well, including guild wide temple runs every week.
And… not significant amount since. Maybe they sold another 500,000 – that’s it. The peak is past. It’s in decline. You don’t see any announcements do you? Nope. That’s because it will do more harm than good to announce.

When the servers have to be merged (lots of merges not just the one or 2 bottom ones) then you can say the game is dying. The game is doing just fine, its still highly populated.

Guild Wars 2 sold, perhaps, 2 million copies, maybe a touch more. It’s been estiamated that perhaps there are 500,000 active players. Still better than most other MMOs, but lets face it, this game is free.
Most importantly… the number of players Guild Wars 2 has right now is more than it will ever have. Ever. There is no growth.
So WoW has 9,500,000 more active players than GW2 – and those players are willing to pay per month.
They sold 2 million the told us about. Maybe another 500 000 since then. And the actually amount of people playing is but a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of that.
GW2 has peaked. It’s now a struggle to retain and push them into the cash shop. Growth is over.
that’s why new servers open and I see new people every day? That’s why in the starter zones you hear “I’m new, please help”. That’s why so many gifted GW2 to their friends for Christmas. If it was a struggle, the game would be so much cheaper to get. Servers would close. New ones wouldn’t be opening.

I had this nice post written up and forums made me re-log in so to try again.
The op has a point, I have been pouring my hard earned cash into the game both with halloween and wintersday (I didn’t have to) so I could try to obtain some of the novelty items, often without success so spent even more money. And with all that money flowing into ArenaNet, I was expecting an expansion within the first part of this year (assumption on my part) to include another race and new areas. But instead of some sugar for those who have supported this game financially, we’ve been given a little vinegar instead.
From what ArenaNet have said we can assume they want to bring people back to the less populated areas by adding new content to those areas. The concern is that while initially the novelty of the new content will bring players to those areas, once the novelty wears off players will go back to what they are doing now, unless those areas are just as profitable with the same effort as the higher populated areas. And with issues with the current loot mechanics compounding the situation as it stands now, the new content in existing areas to bring people back to them is feeling a little gimmicky.
Why did I pay for GW2? To be entertained and captivated.
Why I have paid additional money into GW2? Because I believe that ArenaNet will deliver on content that will keep me captivated.
Will I keep throwing money at ArenaNet? Only if new content is not gimmicky and current issues do get resolved.

game is doing fine. still very populated. On my server sometimes it can be hard to find people on lower level zones (except for the humans zones those are packed).
Huh? It would appear that people want a “press this button and WIN” elite which isnt going to happen. Every class can have a decently strong elite. Examples
The supply crate on my eng is amazing. A 2 second stun and the ability to heal with the bandages it gives along with some turrets to boot. On my warrior. The signet gives 30 seconds of might fury and swiftness. I hit like a truck.
Also there are elite skills that have short cd. The theif has a very short cd elite that stuns people for a short time. I believe its 45 seconds.
This game is not easy. The first couple levels can be very hard on new gamers. And the game does a kitten poor job at explaining a lot of things. However once u get the hang of it you will experience a pretty good game.
Also I dont agree with whats been said about the trinity. IMO i think the game does what it needs to just fine. It has some issues but they can be resolved over time.
… are there any reason? Seems from people posts that GW2 now is extremely grindy (fractals), still have major issues with balance in WvW (theives etc) and no progression at all for pvp’ers (other then go do PvE for Fractal-stuff).
So, if its just the same game as 3 month ago – with more grinding – I wont borther.

No. The game cannot hold the hands of everyone nor can it please everyone. A vast VAST majority of players will never ever experience this issue. Which means its the players fault for not using their head.
I realize Anet must have done something to increase the cap or filtered it out or something, since the other week they all went from Full to Very High.
However, now they’re filling up again and I can’t get on the server my husband and Guild transferred to (which is Tarnished Coast). Neither can my sister-in-law.
Are these servers stuck at Full? Every time I look, it never moves from Full. Any Tarnished Coast members know what times I should be aiming for to camp the World Select screen?
Server status is based on the number of accounts tied to a server, not the number of players actively online. Even if Tarnished Coast was completely empty of players it would still read full. Shame Arenanet chose to lie about their subscriber numbers like that. : /
Apparently you don’t know how the system works but first…… AN’s subscriber number is 0. No actually it really is 0. Think about it for a minute. Yup still 0.
2nd of all the status of the full server is based on how many players are currently connected to the server and playing. We were able to move entire Titan Alliance guilds to full servers by having several guilds have all their members logout of game synchronized on TS and other voice apps. If what you say were true this wouldn’t work.

Fewer players mean fewer cash shop purchases, which means less money for NCsoft, which means unhappy corporate bigwigs. That will equal the death of GW2, and soon.

This game will stay healthy for quite some time and probably has already met its marketing needs to the point where they have made money off of it. They will continue to do so regardless of players like this leaving as more will always join.

CCP didnt “Shrug it off”. The CEO wrote a public apology, they changed the direction of their game and a few people lost their jobs over it.. or so the Internet scuttlebutt goes.

PvE? Eh, heaps of competition, general consensus is other MMO’s do it better.

I knowthat. Hence why i said during our PRIME TIME. During our PRIME TIME we would of dominated and racked up points. The servers were fine by the time it was your guys PRIME TIME. Hence why your now crushing us.
No. Me and a warrior had a great fight. We downed me and he had just a sliver of life. I used my 2 to stop his stomp and then spammed 1. I couldnt get his tiny sliver of life down. why? Because i stacked chill and vunerability on him and did NO damage to him.
Also I would be fine with the pvp aspect if it was somehow decent in pve or wvwvw. Mist form is incredible for wvwvw. Our 2 can be used to pull someone down but thats extremely rare and we will still die from being unable to move. The pve aspect is decent at best thanks to a strong level 3.
Overall our 1 skill needs to be changed at bare minimum. I would also change the 2nd skill.
Your 1 skill does vulnerability? Hey that’s cool mine does bleed,chill and weakness. What class where you playing again?
Engineer 1 skill actually does pretty decent damage compared to other downed 1 skills. If you where doing no damage the warrior probably had endure pain up.
Only the ele has a good 2 downed skill for WvW.
Thief one is short ranged and mesmer one is random, some times they will save you and some times they will not. The other FIVE classes, not just engineer have an interrupt instead of some kind of mobility on their 2 skill.
Vengeance is nice when you get it off in WvW but the odds of that happening with all the aoes, stealth/stability finishers is very slim. It’s also not a real rally, you have a 15% chance un-traited to rally when you kill someone. If you don’t rally you die when vengeance ends.
Even I have to admit, the downed state abilities are total garbage. Why on earth would you want to pull your enemy towards you with #2?
Personally the #3 should be #2, up the damage on #1, and give us something awesome for the new #3, Hell like dropping a ton of turrets on yourself.
Our 2 skill is an interrupt, stop complaining. Unless you guys played an ele BEFORE the mist form change then you do not understand what a terrible downed state is.
Engineer downed state is average, not amazing but on par with the others in most situations.
A lot of downed state complaints arise mainly from WvW situations where half the classes routinely manage to escape back into the safety of their zerg or group after being downed near the front. Ele’s mist away, Mesmers and Thieves teleport, and warriors freaking stand back up again with a self-rally.
Seeing as ele has the only reliable way to get to safety that is not half the classes.
Thief teleport is 600 range, half the time you are still in aoe range after teleporting back.
Mesmer teleport is random, it has a decent chance of sending you towards the enemy zerg.
Who lets a warrior vengeance after they down them? In a zerg on zerg most people I know focus fire on downed people.
