The last two days, I have been a new map to start, regardless of population. So I would go from Verdant Brink to a different Verdant Brink without clicking the low population buff to switch maps (usually doesn’t even come up to even click). This is almost always followed by an immediate disconnect. Upon reconnection, I am back in Lion’s Arch.

In all honesty (my own perspective), just get silver then never do them again. You need silver not only for mastery points, but also for various gear like class based ascended pieces and ascended back pieces. So, silver then move on to something more enjoyable. Otherwise, I highly doubt I would have even bothered more than one or two attempts in most of them. The ones I got gold in, I’ll never do again. I am sure some people enjoy them. I am absolutely not one of these people. More so because it is a forced play to get the shinies. I would so much rather just have open-faced grind than these. If there were a way to grind to get the equivalent of bronze/silver/gold rather than play the adventures, or even pay a flat out bribe, I would do it in a heartbeat, no matter how ridiculous it is.

I severely doubt any of this will fly, but what the heck. It’s just ideas, not set in stone.

1. Remove all guards and make supply camps, towers, keeps and castle be player based. Instead of having a champion you have to kill, have it be a position a player must take responsibility for. All previous guard spots will be vacated by NPCs and can be filled with players, or remain empty. Give them a salary for holding these points as well as wxp per time interval, be it five minutes or a full scoring tick while fulfilling a position as an actual defender. Add bonuses to health, stats and/or new abilities to use. If a player goes outside the sphere of influence of one of these objective, the player forfeits their position and becomes a roamer.

2. With the above, make supply camps defensibly upgradeable.

3. Keep the new map, but not really sure what to do with monuments. I found the alpine map to be so freaking boring. I enjoy that the towers and keeps take time to get across. With point 1, this would not be much of an issue with wall patrols keeping an eye on things. Expand the towers and keeps of the alpine map and put it in a random, not alternate, rotation.

4. Or, complete disregard the above points and go with an integrated WvW, sort of like Edge of the Mist, where all green/blue/red servers fight to hold Battleground and the Borderlands. Create another map or two for Battleground and have those and the alpine and desert borderlands active at the same time. How servers will be placed or gain points no idea.

So far, my issues are as follows:

-When a rift spawns to pull in a blighted character, there is a chance that rift will spawn outside an area where it cannot be interacted with.

-When the massive strike comes, the updrafts sometimes do not appear. This chance goes up after a reset.

-When interacting with an updraft at the massive strike, the character gets thrown in the air. In a dozen tries, I have never been able to get a successful glide out of the initial toss. I have to get into the updraft and hit F in order for gliding to be successful.

- The prison. There is absolutely no reason for this other than for grief. If this is to stop achievements from being accomplished, the death should have taken care of this. If this is to stop the story from being successful, then well done. It is doing its job, but it still needs to be removed, or allow people to come back after X amount of time, or allow the player to fight their way back in some manner.

My issue is Hearts and Minds. I have failed seven times in a row because at the part where you are supposed to fly, I open my glider and almost instantaneously hit the ground and die. Then I am stuck forever up above while my team mates are fighting. This is NOT FUN. Put a 1 or 2 minute timer into the game to return to the action.

To Arena Net in general. Voice actors, developers, public relations, engineers and the multitude of other people who were/are a part of making Heart of Thorns, thank you for your time, patience and enthusiasm to drive to build such a enjoyably frustrating expansion. There are parts that are easy, and some that pose a challenge be it solo or group. I would say that all the major points were hit in the making of this.

Not to mention the quick turn around to changes and updates, the bug fixes and making the game interesting.

And to the players for being, for the most part, patient and helpful in the expansion. Every major update sees this sort of performance from its players, but with this new expansion, it seems people are taking an extra step to be there for their fellow players, from my own experiences within the game.

This has been an enjoyable adjustment for myself. I know that this is far from being finished and truly polished, but in all expansions, across the games I have played, this has been the best experience on all accounts.

So, thank you to all, behind the scenes, out front and in game, for making this a pleasurable and easy to adjust to release.

Without looking closely at what the rewards were, I finished a piece of this set on a character that can’t even use the armour piece. It was after gaining it that I saw that the pieces were soulbound on acquire. This is rather irritating, to say the least. Please add some sort of warning within the collection text that says to finish and collect the collection item on the character that you wish to use it.

WARNING: Item is bound on acquire, not on use.

I know that it is inherently incumbent upon myself to read everything first, but after having been used to items being bound on use rather than acquire, this was a bit of a shock, not only for myself, but to others that I told this to. They did not notice this. If this small, albeit very small, sampling is true, the greater player base is probably unaware of this and will be just as surprised, and some far more outraged.

Because I am a bit of a masochist/achievement completionist, I have been running mace for fun in PvE. Third strike of mace states five (5) targets. On strike, it does heal the five people, however it only strikes one opponent. I am not sure if this is a bug or intentional. If a bug, then here you go. If intentional, can a separate line be created to show that offensive targets is supposed to be one?

I just completed my 27th run, my 26th successful completion, and I have zero (0) boxes from a drop. I have no idea how many chests I have opened, but it is enough to clear out at least six (6) stacks of badges and gained two other boxes. I had that many in my bank and I got tired of having them all with nothing to spend them, so I know it was at least six (6), plus whatever I had on my character at the time and I used however many keys that was.

Meanwhile, a friend of mine has done a dozen successful runs, or around that number, and has gained six coat boxes. I have no idea how many other boxes he has gained through opening chests, but I know it is three that I was told. It is probably more, but will go with three.

That makes two (2) boxes in total for myself putting in far more time and effort.
That is nine (9) boxes for less effort on his part.

To me, this is being punished to play.

I get that the developers want people to play the content, but when you come to resent having to do it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again without the reward that you are looking to get the thing that you are supposed to be enjoying, then there is a broken system.

Sure, you get five chests to open for beating the vine, but I really don’t need more badges. I don’t need obsidian shards. I don’t really need green or blue gear to sell or salvage (magic find is useless to me as you can guess by my luck in these events). The rares are nice to forge into more rares (again, luck doesn’t like seeing me get nicer things), but that is about it.

It is bad enough that I have been playing for two and a quarter years and have not seen a precursor drop for me, despite the copious amounts of events and chests I have opened, ranks attained, etc., but to be thwarted by a stupid coat box? That’s just pouring salted lemon juice into the dagger wound to the spleen.

The best thing about teragriffs is that you don’t have to be in its path to be hit! I have said on map chat frequently that they really should double this width so that there really is no chance to avoid it. No sarcasm.

Anyone else having issues with not getting credit for doing this, or do you have to complete it before you get to the rewards at the end of the instance? I am currently at the top after much swearing and it’s not registering.

Ranger, guardian, mesmer, necromancer, engineer, elementalist, thief, warrior. Tried them all. All have gotten to the leap of finisher and progress stops, resets and starts over. I’ve tried the tricks. I’ve tried it normally. Used foods and skills of all sorts that might help. Always the same result. The jump up animation followed by two minutes of swearing because it is proving impossible.

I am ready to kill Jory myself just to make Kasmeer suffer more.

Finally got it and didn’t even have the full timer for a finisher going to do it. I don’t know why. I don’t know how. Ran in, started the finisher, mist form and dead in two seconds, three tops, and got the achievement. This really needs looked at further.

It gets to the end of the bar and goes into the beginning motion of finishing, then it resets and progress begins anew on the finisher. Scarlet makes no move during this time, which I am not sure if it is an animation glitch or not (if she is actually interrupting this). I am not being hit and no orange appear under my feet during this.

While I know that there have been multiple threads to this achievement, I have yet to see it be asked just how many times does the finisher have to be completed? In my latest attempt, I was able to get all the way to full three different times, yet it resets back to the beginning without my prompting to re-initiate the finisher. Needless to say, this achievement is still marked as undone. Do I have to use a specific finisher?

I would like to suggest that future achievements for, at least, living story content not be predicated upon the success or failure of an entire group of people like the chain event achievements currently are. No where in the description does it say that “upon successful event completion…” I appreciate the desire to get a community together for events, and I have had fun with this one, except the achievements part.

I would also like to suggest that it be looked into that downed state is not the same as death. Downed and successful without being hit by the marionette should have still counted. As well as some bug, I am not sure what causes it, where even if your entire chain was successful, you take 0 damage throughout (physical damage, no debuffs, what have you), and you do plenty of damage to get credit for the event, you do not get the achievement for it. My only guess as of right now is getting hit by the marionette in load, which really is a crock.

I have completed chain three nine times fully, successfully, without damage, and chain five four times(all times, a slow load which I can only attribute that the marionette hit me mid-load), and I am unsure how many times with downed status. I still have both of these achievements showing as incomplete and it really is infuriating as well as disheartening.

A trebuchet should not be able to unload in the tunnel at Greenlake, much less deal damage to the wall or gate.

I enjoy both WvW and PvE content, both of which has achievements, the bread and butter of my playing existence. I was dismayed when I heard that there was going to be a season, to start with. The achievements I got done, every category, within a three week time frame, which could have easily been finished in a week or less, but I paced myself. I honestly do not know what I was expecting when the season ended, but I looked at it and thought to myself, “I could have gotten this just doing a round of dailies.” It was disappointing and underwhelming. Six tomes of experience, five master items, one rare, 500 luck essence and a dolyak miniature. Granted, my server finished fifth out of sixth. Still, it didn’t feel like a bonus after seven weeks of getting crushed week after week.

If something like this is planned for season 2, remove the end reward. Just don’t give one except for the miniature to everyone that completes the meta and finishers to the top three servers. Add in rewards to the individual achievements and let that be its own reward.

Incorrect. You have to be in the top ten scorer 8 times. Participation is a lie. If you aren’t in the top ten when the round ends, either by all conversions or timer running out, you have to play again and get in the top ten to make it count.

Please change the shown requirement of “Participate in 8 rounds.” to “Be a top 10 scorer in 8 rounds.” Top ten scorer and participation are two different things.

Been doing jumping puzzles of late to get the achievements and I came to Buried Archives. I got to the end, on server Crystal Desert, easily enough then dispatched the mobs, but there was no lootable or targetable chest. There was a graphic of an open chest where the grand chest should be, but that was it. I changed servers to Sea of Sorrow and tried it again to the same result. I then rallied people to take the temple of Grenth, just to be sure there wasn’t some weird condition, and went back to the same result again. There wasn’t an update about this jumping puzzle that I saw when I searched. If there was, then I am sorry for the oversight.

Story-wise, the game really feels to have fallen short. It feels rushed and incomplete as a whole. In 1, the characters seemed natural and organic. Meaning that each one had their qualities and their flaws and they played to both sides of it, letting us see that happen. In 2, it seems that only one side of the character is given to the viewer and it takes, me at least, things out of the moment. Either they are whiny and self-absorbent, or they are so perfect and haughty, no pedestal could ever reach a height great enough for them. I have no problem with any gender being great and wonderful, but they have flaws. They show them as something more than just a passing glance. They are organic and natural. I got to the point where I no longer pay attention to the story set forth, which is a shame, really. I did read the short story about Scarlet because I was curious, but was quickly shown that it was completely superficial. It was a convenient exposition to throw in a new character without adding much depth. As a character, I just don’t buy into her. As a loot generating character, I buy lots and made a tidy, small fortune for my efforts.

Every match, no exaggeration, the dog gets directly thrown no less than three pieces of meat that is impossible for me to get or to knock/cripple him away from. All my attention is on the dog for this. I don’t bother paying any attention to Strugar except to keep away and to see where he is throwing.

HOW do you do it? I have tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and Sturgar is throwing meat out every 5 seconds. There is NO way to keep up with all of it. I vigor. I roll. I muddy terrain. I point blank shot. I rampage as one. Everything is on cool down and Chomper still has me beat.

I just got done with an invasion, with no less than 10 gold medals for events, spread out through Minons[sic], Aetherblades and Moltens. Scarlet dies and I get the reward of 1 shoulder scrap. That was it. Is this a bug, mistake or intentional?

At level 10, you can get to the Eye of the North. There are three possible quests that you can pick up. If I remember right, it’s been a while, you go to outside of Kamadan, Keineng, or Lion’s Arch and make your way to the purple vortex on your map. (There might be a quest you need to pick up in one of these cities, or outside of them.) This should get you started. Once you complete that portion, you will be at the beginning outpost for Eye of the North. You will not be instantly leveled to 20. Instead, you will be given health and basic stats equivalent to a level 20. You still need to put in the effort to 20, which won’t be hard.

As for your Hall of Monument, it takes a lot of work and effort to get the titles, armours, weapons, pets, etc., to get the possible points that you are probably wanting.

So, if I am reading things right, servers do not interact with each other? You pick one, and you are stuck there unless you pay more to change servers?

I want to play, but my friends are on a full server. If I want to play with them, I have to wait for the server to empty, correct? I can’t choose another and start playing there and still get together with them?

I miss districts.
