I think the real problem is everything is so easy to play compared to thief nowadays. The skill floor so low on other classes that there’s almost no reason to play thief if your beginner/intermediate, spend 1 week on rev and you’ll almost certainly do more. Now instead of making thief easier or more faceroll I’d rather see a toning down of other classes without killing them or raise the skill floor so people are punished for their mistakes.

When did you do that? I’m thinking that you did it before all of the non-PvPers and casual players got to it so you were playing with people that knew what they were doing.

2 days ago. Nope I just know how to play, I did it on thief too. I know how to carry a game, winning 12 in a row is not “lucking out on teammates”. They are your standard ruby players you are complaining about today.

Please bring soloQ back, allow us to view our season win percentage and bring back skill based non grind leaderboards seperate for soloQ and teamQ.

Edit: and make it possible to be deranked, and also harder to reach higher pvp tiers so they actually have meaning. The only people who should be legendary are top players, make it a top 100 system or something. Would be much more fair with a separate soloQ system as well.

Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun are the most ideal days for us.

As thief, anything with weakness spam gives me nightmares. I’m looking at you necros. Some mesmers are terrifically annoying, only the good ones. Fire ele is actually not too bad from a thief perspective, random blinds are annoying though.

This is indeed a problem, I’ve also had a case of quickness stomps deciding to not work altogether, causing me to lose games/die/save cd’s unnecessarily. Very frustrating.

If we could make this thread as big as the old skyhammer thread then there a shot. I’d be twice as good at thief if all that time spent afk was in 1v1s.

We have been playing together on and off for the last 10 months and recent results in practice means the 4 of us are highly motivated to compete. We are all friendly mature people(except the German) and quite good at the game too. The plan in long term is to compete in every tournament we can and be a contender for 1st. Looking for an ele that is solid already and needs a team to take competing to the next level. Depending on how you mesh with the team and understand your role, you do not need to be the best player mechanically (but it helps!) and being smart is favourable to being fast in the role of ele in particular. Im glad you arent making balance decisions. You know nothing about the game from what I read. Vampirism runes are op atm yes, panic strike is pretty cheesy in terms of improvisation procs being too RNG and the spec has great survival for a zerker. Im all for toning down certain things but then you have look at engi passive burn and passive condi removal trait, necro downstate damage and spinal shivers, passive dps guard chill proc, air fire sigils ect and im pretty sure the list could go on. And rotation wise the current meta spec cannot instakill every 2v1 under most circumstances, this is a gross exaggeration for example common 1v1 nodefights occur between 2 celes lets say the thief reinforces midway through the fight he is highly unlikely to kill the cele in reasonable time, and if the thief is able to you are either being snowballed, you are zerker or you are losing the 1v1 badly enough to get instakilled and the thief is probably wasting time helping +1 creating a disadvantage for his team somewhere else. Take thieves out of the meta and all you are doing is buffing cele stacking and staff eles in particular which is far more cancerous than a thief(not to mention more boring to play and far less punishing/lower skill). If you play with a competent team you should be able to keep track of the thief and play smart when hes in stealth. The fact that the thief is in the metagame allows for some high skillcap plays and punishes bad rotations lack of map awareness and sloppy communication, but I doubt you have ever played seriously OP so im probably wasting my words.

Looking for high level and experienced players for a serious pvp team. Potential, personality, mindset and learning rate will also be taken into account. The classes we are looking for are currently 2 ele and engi able to play the meta builds. Even if you are not the most experienced we are still interested in trying you out so dont let that put you off from contacting me.

I like alot of the pvp changes however its a giant step backwards that we cant que while doing other things. I cant duel my teammates anymore while waiting to go thus I get to spend less time playing the actual game. It should be an easy fix to return it to how it was please take notice of this anet!

Thats not true. I don’t zerg and I have a much harder time finding enemies now. Yes, sometimes there are clues to where the enemies might be going but thats only if they want to. It’s too easy to avoid being detected.

also, thats only part of the problem. I’d often attack stuff just to call enemies to fight me or my group when wvw is slower. “ringing the doorbell” we’d call it. Now we just stare at each other till someone says -meh I’ll go play dragon age instead, this is boring- .

I second this! Bring back swords or give us some way of finding our enemies without guesswork. It’s simply terrible and often end up just pvping as a result of a disappointing night of hide and seek!

Hey, was unable to find a wvw guild recruitment forum so I’m posting this here.

[Duel] Fight Club is a recently formed EU guild that is just aiming to create a network of people who wish to duel in wvw and organise such events between themselves. It’s simply for fun and repping isn’t required. Many times I will go into wvw and often meet circles of players just interested in having fun chilling and watching some duels. I know the interest is there for something like this so I hope to unite these players and make somewhat of a community of us across many different servers. The guild originated on Gandara. Message in game or on here if interested, and sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place ^^

Hi are there any good thieves running the D/P panic strike spec and streaming? Don’t mention caed because I find him annoying. Preferably Eu.

Medi guards are actually not that bad. They have a niche in the right comp just noone is using one correctly at the top level.

THANK YOU for replying on this thread. As for the changes, this map is less annoying but would still like it to be removed from Solo Q. I know for some reason you don’t want to hear this but its just not a competitive map even in its improved state.

Since we are not attracting good players I will be a pretentious kitten and just mention that our roster consists of players from the 3rd and 4th place teams in ToL 2 .

I really love this game. Its not spectator friendly enough to be an esport though and the player base has been destroyed by Arenanets apparent priority on the PvE side of the game…

Lol, engineer is fine at the highest level. Which is where I believe the game should be balanced.

In my experience playing against full bunker comps, splitting the fights across 3 points has been working out nicely. Our comp is Dp Thief, Hambow War, Guard, Cele Engi and Condi Necro.

Omg, this is just too perfect.

Might stacking is too strong agreed but I actually like the build diversity celestial creates. 15 Might stacks may be more balanced. Actually celestial hambow is stronger than soldier IMO if you run doom and geomancy sigils on longbow. The instaswap to proc both sigils is too good in duels against our harder matchups (good thief/engi).

I was actually on a win streak of 7 then got 5 4v5s in a row. What is this BS. I know 3 of those were intentional too. This is so stupid and annoying I play soloQ purely to get better but this plus skyhammer makes me not want to play, theres only so much kitten you can take.
