When do you all believe the next wing will be released? Before or after the new year? Crystal did mention that half of it was completely ready to ship, while the other half was still being polished. I’m curious

It’s rather easy to lay-out and communicate information when you have been rehashing the same formula/content for the past ten years.

I am still excited for the expansion; they have announced a good amount of features thus far and am expecting that there is plenty more to come.

The developers have confirmed that there will be multiple new maps, not just a single one with three biomes as many were expecting!

Small. My guild contains around five people at the moment.

TL;DR: Will the Heart of Maguuma have its own seperate map completion that includes Dry Top and the Silverwastes, and will this add tooltips for these two maps?

Alright, this question has been tugging at my strings for a long time…so here it goes: the two new maps, Dry Top and The Silverwastes, when entered, or when scrolling over on the world map, do not show the amount of vistas you have out of the total, the amount of POIs out the total, etc. I am unsure if this bugs other players; it is a minor detail, but it picks at me a bit

Why is that? Are they waiting to add an entire new region, and put in a system like world completion, replacing it with Heart of Maguuma Map Completion, or Maguuma Map Completion, as to not constantly make players redo the Tyria World Map Completion? I think that’d make sense.

What do all of you guys and gals think?

So I stumbled upon a NPC in Kessex Hills that spoke about the Consortium buying out the Black Lion Trading Company very soon, and in my head, so bubbles connected..

Since week 3 is a revamp of “the way we trade/collect ingame”, maybe, just maybe the BLTC will go out of business? I may be talking out of my kitten , but it was just a thought.

Well, Anet has been very silent for the past couple months, and their living story team is only a small part of their entire development team I’ve heard (20 members), so they have to have something hiding behind the curtains.

I saw mentioned earlier that this article confirms no new content, when in now way have they contacted Anet in any way shape or form, they were simply speculating there will be none due to the fact that none is in the trailer. In no way is that confirmed; unless there is another unreleased article Vol is speaking about.

This particular release won’t unlock a new section of the Dry Top map, although players can look forward to seeing more of it uncovered in the fourth episode. The focus of this upcoming release is on bringing news of Mordremoth’s existence to the rest of Tyria.

This looks very, very interesting. Not only does it show Rytlock freeing the Ascalonions, but it shows a very quick clip of the Icebrood in what looks like Wayfarer Foothills (where the icebrood champ spawns). Has me thinking….should be a great piece of story.

I think of charr more like gnolls, to the point I even named one Gnoll Steakcutter. Anyone play DDO? The Black Citadel is reminiscent of the Burning City, though a hell of a lot prettier, and the Burning City was a dungeon.

Is DDO any good? Always wanted to try it, but Eberon (or however it’s spelled) was kind of a turn off. Whenever I see the Citadel I always think “Death Star”.

If you want to see REAL greed in a cash shop,. play DDO. What a P2W piece of garbage. The original game was quite okay, but the company is mega greedy. Anyone who plays that game and doesn’t fork out lots of money won’t be playing for long. Turbine is a bad, bad company. They should not be allowed to get involved with an MMO.

Lol Vayne, it’s not that bad. But it does have a different feel to Anet’s shop. Greedier? Possibly but I haven’t really compared the two. I spent a fair bit of money on it though…

DDOs cash shop is now terrible. You can pay to get to lvl 16 (4 lvls away from max), increase epic destiny levels, and now buy “shards” to obtain previously bound-to-char items, like some special raid items. Imo, that game is going to crash down.

I am over 30 and don’t believe a family oriented game like GW2 would benefit from the addition of the items you mention. There are other games for people who desire that kind of content.

The only thing that isn’t covered by the post you replied to is nudity and coarse language.

I’m not sure how long they will be able to sustain this though. Their Achilles heel is a AAA MMO targeted to a mature audience. The Disney stuff might be tolerable for awhile but; it’ll get dumped really fast. Your average MMO gamers is over 30 and is demanding mature fun content.

Fixed that for you. I’m an average MMO gamer over 30, therefore I’m as entitled to generalize about the entire demographic as you are.

I’m not generalizing. Its a fact. MMO’s are not appealing to younger audiences. They might buy the game; play it till level 10 or 20 then quit.

It probably has something to do with how the younger generations seek something for nothing and are too impatient to work towards something. The entitled generation. The ones that grew up with credit cards, smart phones and google.

Bah! I am 16, have 5 LvL 80s, working towards a legendary, and enjoy this game a lot, all with keeping a 4.0 and I play one sport (not too good at the sport though). I love working for my stuffz and a good challenge, although I do have to agree quite a few of my friends dropped the game due to no “gear grind” and all cosmetic stuff to work towards.

Age =/= Maturity

The game is most definitely not dead, although if a newcomer would come to the forums he’d think otherwise.

I bring my lower lvls into dungeons all the time; I just make the group and say: LFXM not picky. Running dungeons at LvL is a lot of fun, and I believe you are not handicapping the team if you know how to play your class and know the dungeon. Six times now have I been the only one up at the Howling King in AC on my 35-45 mesmer, soloing the last 10-30% of him.

Skill > LvL. (if you’re the right LvL for the dungeon, that is.)

This is a great addition as it mixes well designed boss fights, exploring, and puzzle mechanics all in one fun cube.

the toads decent enough, but honestly once u beat him twice he turns into a snooze fest. His tells are not subtle at all but massive signs. But compared to 75% of the bosses in the game hes closer to right then they are. Lupi>Ghost Eater>Toad>all IMO.

Only because of the rock/mushroom safe spots. Take them away and it turns into the most engaging boss fight in the game

I hope they still add this stuff. I’ve never keg brawled, but I don’t really like PVP. Mini pets I would do though. The musical thing too.

Dude…try it sometime. I thought I would hate it, but once you learn what the skills do and work together with your team, it gets very fun and intense.

The skins are not AC skins, because the AC skins at that cost would just be transmuted on to cheap armor you can buy from the TP.

Please, stop complaining. ArenaNet has shown they are trying to communicate/listen to the players, please…please show me a development team that does this better AND runs a live game.

You don’t need merits to access Guild Bounty Hunts, which is the first level of guild missions. You need influence, and that’s how the training missions help you get there.

dude really…. your talking to a bunch of kid’s who wont be happy unless they can have everything with out putting out any work.

there so worried about there small guilds falling apart because they cant unlock this stuff quickly, I say if that’s what there worried about than there not much of a guild in the first place.

I myself am not in a big guild it will take us much longer to unlock everything But I have NO fear that my guild will split up over this, If any thing pulling together to get to our gole has only made my guild stronger.

we make it a point to run content together in order to max out our influance gain much more than we ever did befour and we crush content ((harder pleas :P ))

Hey hey, I’m 16, am the leader of a 15 person guild and I made this thread to thank them

Most of my guild is made up of people who I have met in Guild Wars, and I am pretty sure that none of them are going to leave for a bigger guild – we have finally unlocked bounties, but have not had a successful hunt yet. We have had a lot of laughs though, and are looking forward to these training missions so we can get used to the bounties.

It’s the other way around with most groups I run in, once in a blue moon do people skip Kholer. He has gotten significantly easier, deal w/ the adds as soon as they pop up, (usual P2 kill order) and then back on Kholer.
