If you lose becouse your oppenent is stronger you lose also in a conquest map , having a different kind of game for me is better, it is in any case a bigger opportunity to have fun. I really don’ understand which is the problem in maintaining it also in ranked queue. It is something different …
Lost 500 – 0 in CY. Next match was against same team but in conquest. We won.
Until they implement the ability to save different builds so you can easily switch between them, I can’t agree with CY being in the same queue as conquest maps. Even then it should be in a different queue.

Anyone can talk stuff. But without evidence, its nothing but a bunch of baloney. Its not hard to screenshot, its just 1 button and it nicely goes to a convenient location on your computer.

Don’t give this “decent thing” – its very subjective. Some would call it a kitten thing, for not talking back, some would call it a stupid thing for not just ignoring him (or them), some would call leaving a game = win for bullies, and they are all equally right. Objective thing is you can’t leave a match for any reason and expect not to get punished by the system, that only “sees” -1 player.

Leaving = dishonor, it does not reward bullying it discourages leaving. You gave a bad advice, thus it is not the games fault.
So skyhammer will be no more when the map voting system is implemented, that is the best news I have ever heard in gw2 (clap) for devs.
Lets hope the new game mode is not a new skin to the HOTM where you can explore newly skinned shrubberies…
But this game is actually increasing rng, why would they try to decrease it? : O And please dont tell me that it is a bad design – you can say it about 90% of things in gw2 pvp.
Make a person that just took an orb into “orb-carrier” class with 1 heal and 5 skills (for example: 1 leap, 1 cc, 1 sprint, 1 dmg and 1 barrier) and a fixed amount of stats.
Problem solved: now everyone can carry it equally. Other parts of the map seem ok.
Why waste resources on fixing this map? /remove from soloq and nothing needs to be fixed, hotjoiners can have their fun if they want : )

It is not the attitude of players, but the attitude of creators.
There is no infrastructure for pvp. For few examples:
- “Leaderboard” is a barely functional syte that is not even integrated in game(haven’t seen kitten like this for a long time). There is no measurement of skill to be found there. I haven’t played for 3-4 months, went for 1 solo, lost it to 4×5 and boom i am #53.
- No mechanic preventing 4×5. There are systems in other games that work, and anet can’t even copy/paste it. Its very simple – when the queue pops up EVERYONE has to press ready and only then you get ported to the map. If 1 does not press ready, search begins from the start until there are 10 people that are ready. This prevents a 4×5 from the start.
- No rewards for pvp. 99.9% of rewards are just pve crap that 0.01% is a crappy backpack that can be hotjoin farmed without a sweat.
- No different pvp modes for different amount of people. Will not talk about it, since the importance was already mentioned in numerous threads.
- Game doesn’t even have a /resign function
- No spectator mode for comp. pvp. Also in general the spec. mode kitten in gw2, check cs: go for a good example.
- No match record possibility
- Race advantage, since there is no UI for casts (fixed only in teamq)
- A huge amount of various effects, now even legendaries are allowed in pvp, yet combat was barely readable before.
- Map like skyham in comp. map queue
- No map voting on player side
Actually it would be easier to say what gw2 has that is good and presume that fails at every other aspect:
- A good core combat mechanic depending on the player to dodge and block instead of a % of the gear, thus reducing rng
- Everyone has the same gear/traits from the start – only skill is what matters. I should say it was, since they had a mind boggling idea of putting traits and runes that are unlocked with gold, and that goes against the main principal of what they announced before launch.
And that is it, 1 and 1/2 things that are good in gw2 pvp, quite an astonishing feat of development failure.
And you still think it is player that kittened up?
: D it is amazing how a person could come up with the idea like this:
- Company did not make the product they promised at the start (pvp)
- Company did not improve on almost any aspect of said product in 2 years (pvp)
- Company shows 0 interest in increasing the value of it in the future
- From at least 3mln copies bought I doubt there is even 1% left playing pvp
- And someone suggests to take a fee from this minuscule amount of players thinking that they will continue playing and hoping for something in the future instead of quitting?
- Prizes do not = e sport, good game = e sport, now think what gw2 lacks and understand that this dream was only a marketing ploy to increase the sale of product.

Why do people play engineer? Let’s see:
-Massive amounts of self healing and regeneration
-Tons of damage from a single passive proc (Incendiary powder), so people can’t outplay most of your damage since you’ll hit them with it whether they dodge or not
-Never runs out of skills to spam
-1st/2nd best skyhammer troll class
-Multiple “Oh kitten!” buttons like Elixir S, Toolkit block, on demand stealth, etc
-Strongest elite skill in the game (Crate) also provides even MORE healing and more passive burning
-If someone calls you OP, you immediately start crying about how condi necros destroy you
-If someone says your class is easy, you start shouting about how grenades are the Uberskill (soooooooo hard to land)That’s why, in a nutshell.
Oh, and because Engineers are overpowered.
This, also engy is the only class i can play now, because my left hand is broken and i have a basic mouse, thus plant turrets and click skills is the only way to play =]
How can anyone take LB seriously, when after 4-5 months of not playing you can get to top100 teamq from % after loosing 1 match?

This question was already asked in beta or alpha stage, no good answer was given.
But farming is promoted by anet, why else did they create skyham that allowed the mob grinding crowd to get all rewards pvp players get without actually pvping…

Since we lack pvp features in next patch I am pretty sure this lag is a new feature in pvp, it takes a lot of skill to fight and win by guessing randomly where you are and where your enemy is, dodging and attacking randomly. In some aspects it is like skyham and it was a feature too. Think about it…
Because three people capping one point makes it cap faster.
Especially if they have commander tags, then it is getting capped super fast, just like bashing the doors with auto…
People asked this since beta, so you can see how it will be soon in the horizon….
Bunk guard the middle is probably best, since if you play well it is possible that enemies will be outnumbered in other fights.

“How can we educate people about Skyhammer so that it isn’t viewed in such a negative light?” People are not the problem. Skyhammer is the problem, people just noticed the incredibly cheap kills you can farm up with few classes and chose not to be on the level of players “cheesing it up”.
You cant call solo queue “rated match” with a straight face – there is no working rating system for any queue. There are no leaderboards in gw2, you can get from % to top100 in teamq by loosing 1 match in 2 months (at least I did).

How can you measure amount of players that “enjoy” skyhammer without any survey? How can you say a lot of people like skyhammer and some don’t when every single poll made in the forum showed the opposite?
If you have failed at the core part of design it is much more cost effective to start from the beginning, not to try to fix what is broken.

I would think this is easily addressed by just copying a match join system from other games. You know, “if you do not press I AM READY in a minute you get kicked out of queue”. Not like the unique system gw2 has – "Oh you did not press anything to enter the match? Well it is probably because you are saving your mouse clicks for “awesome” reward opening and deleting, so we will just put you in match anyway".
Also if they remove skyham from soloq I bet number of afk players will severely decrease.
That is some esport level strats, truly the same or even greater caliber as any cs or dota.

You can also require people to be at least 2 minutes (or some arbitrary number) in the PvP area to interact with the bank. By PvP area I mean any PvP map and Heart of the Mists. So if you just played a match you can access your bank, but if you came from the open world, you have to wait.

I think the messages we receive from anet are just black box recordings that are on a loop from pvp crash. For example “soon, soon, soon…. we are working on it, we are working on it, we are working on it… meetings, meetings meetings…”
Anet invests in it’s PvP like minecraft invested in it’s graphics. I know that’s not what they said when they were in development, but it’s what they actually did.
It took a year for them to put in spectator, ladders, rankings… basics of esport PvP for this AAA esport PvP title. Most would argue the thing you’re asking for is yet another basic that should have probably been present at launch… so I’m going to say give them till the 3 year mark.

Remember, ArenaNet is a business. How much revenue does PvP generate compared to PvE?
You spend your development budget on things that will bring in money.
And if you only PvP, and you quit the game, what have they lost? You just freed up some server capacity.
So I am glad for whatever PvP development they still do.
I wish they would add a subscription for PvP and use that money to take it to the next level. Because there is no other MMO that has this good of a combat system, even now.
Why would pvp generate any amount of money if they did not invest anything into it? You spend money to make money, quite simple. PvE needs a constant stream of development to keep the customer base, PvP needs only enough supporting infrastructure to keep the customers for years.
And about the subscription for “pvp” – not sure if trolling or…
