Are you updating the same ticket or starting new ones? Note that most customer support centres have SLA for ticket servicing – if you keep updating the ticket you are also likely resetting the SLA timer…
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was an option to add an item you see, either linked in chat or from the Trade Post, to some sort of a wishlist? That will ease up the strain on the TP servers (less search queries) and at same time will give players an option to keep somewhere handy a list of all the items they plan to purchase. Even more – why not make it visible to guildies and friends, so that they can help out and get that item for you like a good Santa

Can’t say for the other errors, but you will not get 7:11:3:189:101 if you put the PC you play GW2 on in DMZ (this is done on the router side). Alternatively, you could set the above port forwarding. !!!NOTE> ON ITS OWN PORT FORWARDING DOES NOT RESOLVE ANYTHING. YOU NEED PORT TRIGGERING TO BE SET AS WELL. The latter means that your router needs to be configured to keep the ports open on inbound, not just outbound traffic. Depending on the router you are using this might not be available in the web configuration tool. You might need to Telnet or SSH into the router to configure the port triggering. Also some router firmwares might not support Telnet or SSH, so that should be taken into account as well.
People always have stuff pending in the Trade Post. Either remove the annoying exclamation mark, or add option to switch it off!!!
Weird problem, though I had a similar issue a few years back on a laptop. Went quietly away with new drivers.
Simple matter of fact in GW2 is that if it can be crafted, it will be on the Trade post in huge quantities. There gear is there, maybe you misspelled or something when you were looking
This is a somewhat non-serious look at the connection between GW1 and GW2. I raise the topic as I have not come across an interpretation for the fate of the beloved character we created, levelled and geared in Prophecies and the following campaigns.

So. Zhaitan has an army of Risen. The Risen are dead Tyrians. We are specifically shown how his hoards of undead monstrosities in Orr are being replenished by shipping the dead from the mainland.
Now here is what’s bugging me – I last logged out my beloved warrior in Lion’s Arch. Historically that’s way before the tsunami. I logged out my budding necromancer in Fort Ranik on the outskirts of Ascalon’s capital before the Foefire, and so on… Centuries have passed and there is no doubt (lore related) that all those heroes, who roamed Tyria back then, are now deceased.
Did those heroes of our heart-warming ancient adventures end up as Risen? Could my new necromancer have gotten to face and put to final death his long “gone” predecessors?
Comments anyone?
Hi,
Does anyone know whether there is any shield in GW2 that resembles the Exalted Aegis from the original game? I’ve been asking in game, but nobody seems to have seen such a thing.
I don’t think there is. I don’t think there should be. You are asking ANet to favor a group of players over another.

"Incorrect password" message... while playing

The game just kicked me out with an “Incorrect password” message. I change my password regularly, but I am pretty sure I am not immune to hacking attempts. Yet my router logs do not show anything suspicious.
Has anyone else received such error, and do I have anything to be worried about?
That one is very annoying. Every time I am in the area I just mute my surround, so that I don’t have to listen to the shout every few seconds.
Current Bonuses: +10% MAGIC FIND, +10% GATHERING, +15% KARMA
+1. Arena Net – for next year please make the jumping puzzle a solo instance!!! I am giving up for this time around. All I can see is other people, not where I am jumping to. Of course I am going to fail, unless I try to hack the game so that I don’t see other players.
They changed the regional restrictions so you only have to be in the correct region to activate the key initially (essentially prevent us europeans from buying cheaper US copies)
Is this true? If it is, the restriction will be impossibly easy to beat.
I’ve been checking the Trade post and on the internet but I am unable to find a single accessory that combines Condition Damage and Magic Find as base stats. Has anyone come across any such items?
My account was terminated after recovering it from a hacker.

Shame you got banned that way. It’s good that you contacted the support with the issue. Most likely bans are handled by different people, and they review game logs separately of support system. The other possibility would be that the staff member who banned you saw that the login happened from the same IP address at the time you claimed that the hacker was using the account (If you are in a uni campus that might be the case. Unfortunately posting your frustration will not result in either fast resolution, nor will it improve your chances of getting the account unbanned.

What does the network icon show as tooltip when “the wifi connection halts and It completely cuts off communication”?
Further, what is the model router which you get the wireless from?

Posting info such as laptop brand and model, as well as OS, brand/model of router, state of portforwarding/dmz is highly encouraged if you want to get constructive and helpful replies.
The “kitten” thing comes from Curse I believe. The Aionsource forum used to censor bad language by changing the word to “nyerk”, which was the exclamation of the sugo, small fox-like critters that ran the broker in AION.
Rytlock has character and guts. Logan acts on a whim and does not weigh in consequences. Yes, I read the book, liked all characters, even Logan up until the very end. You have to consider that the author of the book was presented with a unique situation – most of what you see in the storyline was already in place when he was writing the novel. It was ultimately his choice to present Logan as a kitten. Everyone draws the conclusion Logan is one simply due to the writing that does not give the idea that Jenna was in any real danger from Kralkatorrik at the time. If you ask me J.R. King wanted us to detest Logan.
The commander title has high price for a reason. Getting 100g to afford it (unless you shelled tons of RL money on gems) means you spent enough time with the game to know what you are doing. Random commander? = Random guy who joined the armed forces shouting orders (in GW2’s case putting idiotic instructions on for others).
Off topic, but what Baldur’s Gate mods did you work on? I love that game and have played through with various mods, including some AI mods. I’m curious if I may have played with your mods installed.
I did some fixes, new classes, items and areas. I will not mention specific mods though as it will make it quite easy to tie them to my RL identity (back then I did not think internet privacy would be an issue for me later on).
I usually don’t rant, but this time I will about the Summon Flesh Golem necro skill. Promise to keep it as civil as possible.
The AI is awful and the the dice game my teacher asked me to make in high school using C++ seems to have a lot more effort put into it. The AI mods I did for NPCs in Baldur’s Gate 2 10 years ago are probably also shaving it a lot more closer to perfection than the sorry excuse for AI that the Flesh Golem has. <takes deep breath> Sorry, rant over.
Now constructively, as I can’t find any similar topic via the search engine. The Flesh Golem is a pet people are likely to use in solo PvE mainly. To my humble knowledge it is also an uncontrollable pet. As such it needs to meet certain prerequisites. First of all, it has to attack the target you are attacking. Secondary condition – if not following condition #1 it has to attack creatures that attack the player. Condition #1 (pet attacking a target when which you attack, especially when you start combat) is met roughly 50% of cases, which leads to just longer fight (with Flesh Golem standing idle… that kitten!?! It could at least burst into applause when you kill the target but no, he doesn’t…;) Once target is dead you could go around doing your business avoiding mobs and not being anywhere near them. What happens then is that the golem acts on an unknown script command and seeks out an enemy mob and attacks it. Doesn’t matter if it is way distant. It also attacks targets which are near you but far enough for them to not pay attention to you, so you’ve decided to ignore them. The golem also seems to target and attack a random out of range mob on the second it is created via the Summon Flesh Golem skill.
I will not pretend I know better than ANet’s developers, and I am sure you have a lot more game breaking bugs to work on, but can you please at least give us necros a sign that you are planning some distant far away into the future patch that will give the Flesh Golem a brain, even a rotting one? Cause right now it’s like playing roulette – you never know where the ball is going to stop with the Flesh golem around.
Misclicks happen;) I doubt neither you, nor your gildie would get in trouble just for one false report. There is probably some script buried deep in their servers that only flags accounts with multiple reports.
I bet most farmers learnt from this very forum that emails with gold in them cannot be deleted. Anyway, this is really unpleasant especially for the feint hearted who are worried not to be mistaken for scammers and gold buyers. Maybe the developers can consider allowing us to delete game mail with items/gold in them?
Save yourself the money and lower the graphic details. Honestly
A 500$ budget is unlikely to produce a configuration you will notice that much of a difference with. Better save some more and then buy whatever Intel’s 4th generation of i5/7 will be.
“-image” just used to download the full game client upon installation. It did nothing after that.
BRING BACK point-click for movement [like in Guild Wars 1]...

How are you going to dodge with point-and-click?
I have to agree with everyone but the OP.If you could just breeze through low level areas without considering what mobs go after you in the process, what then? What happens when you want to spend some time enjoying an nice challenge? Will you be ok with being stuck in one zone out of 20-ish? If this is your idea of a hard game, then there are plenty of choices out there. But they are also the problem, as I have to agree with SolarNova – those type of games lower the difficulty bar a lot. They do it to a point where there is no challenge whatsoever, other than the little difficulty provided by having to cope with clueless players.
You do have my sympathies In such cases best thing to do is find something to entertain yourself with while waiting for the ban to be removed and pray ANet develop the tools to restore items asap. But after all it’s just a game. Items, gold come and go and should not be taken seriously and the quicker one realizes it, the better. I used to be a progression/lootkitten (sorry for using that word) in another game with no soulbound mechanics. Second or third richest person on the server. Then one day I gave all items and gold away. Did not lessen the fun of the game in the slightest.
edit Wow, you type fast. My reply is wayyyy outdated. Advice about this being just a game still stands, though

Scammers have your account user name and password. Strongly advisable to change them and the password of your email address. Better yet, run virus scan, make sure the PC is clean, then change password for game, make new email address specifically for GW2 and give it to nobody (sites included).
You know those annoying “www.xxxseitecheapgoldblablabla.com” type of messages in /map chat? They get banned. And coincidentally they all come from characters on hacked accounts. It’s not that ANet has anything against you. It’s on the contrary – a ban like that is for the protection of those unwise enough to consider dealing with scammers.
Just submit a support ticket, and explain what happened. Sarcastic forum remarks, such as “Thx Anet” will not help your case in the slightest. Take it from someone who works with internet services for a living.
ANet sells storage for gems.. ATM you are asking for additional free storage. Even if you do not realize it.
Phenom II 965BE, not OC
GTX570
16GB RAM, 1600 Mhz
As you can see my hardware is not that different. I have no problems at all with the game freezing, running low FPS, etc. Could this be WinXP related? I am on Win7.
P.S. Sadly I have to agree with Cbuzz. The only solution for the limitations of the outdated AMD hardware is an Intel-based purchase. But that would only be an issue an expansion or two later, if ANet improve the visuals of the engine further.

not at all, you’re still leveling – I just don’t want to spend hours discovering every new waypoint having a very progressed character I can’t even stomach exploring everything again at this point
I am not talking about levelling. Map exploration was essential part of the development of any new character in GW1. It’s part of the fun now as well. There’s people that are referred to as “completionists”. If the map is explored by default on a second character, what are they to do?
That would eliminate an entire branch of gameplay..
Hi. I was wondering whether anyone has considered placing a purchase-able with gems GW2 key code, which can be used to create a child-account for the game? I am not talking about anything that would allow people to create brand new accounts – rather something similar to what Blizzard does with account under the same family name (not sure what it is called over there).
I know we already have the option to upgrade to Digital Deluxe with gems.
Current running guild bonus:
+10% Magic Find
Thanks very much Swedemom
i dont want to overclock because i have no experience with it and i dont know how to do it. how is the power supply important ? isent it just giving power to the system
but how do you see what power supply and motherbord that is good ?
Think of the power supply as of the heart of the system. If your heart is weak and you get a heart attack… you get the picture. Corsair and Cooler Master make good PSU modules. A note on consumption – ATI cards generally take up more power the NVIDIA ones, they are also a significant noise generator with stock fans. Example – a real life story I experienced. My father was calling me on the phone while I was playing some game with my old card. In the middle of the call he asked me “Is that fountain water running near you?” Thats how loud newer ATI cards can be. In contrast some manufacturers on GF cards do their best to bring down noise pollution to tolerable levels.
i7’s are the latest processors, so I would likely go with that.
I’d rather spend on more expensive mboard and get an i5. There are comparable models i5 and i7 where the difference in productivity is far less than enough to justify the price difference. Of course all of that is based on games that cannot utilize hyperthreading very well. It might change for the future, but I sincerely doubt any game from the current generation would see such engine improvements anyway.
Mounts are a prime tool for grinding mats. Sooo, I am all against them:)
Have you had an unjustified Ban? GW2 oppressive algorithms?

As annoying as a ban for guild advertising might seem, there is chat report reason called “Spamming”. That’s why most of us restrict ourselves from flooding /map chat with our messages. I for example post an advert in the area I am curently in once every 30-60 minutes, no more. It’s not that I wouldn’t want for more people to see my guild is out there and looking for more, but I rather have a small guild with positive image than one that is famous for being all over the place when it comes to recruiting. I seriously doubt any ban is being done automatically, as it leads to more problems than it solves.
ok cool! thanks for all the help guys! i guess ill play torchlight two for a while til i can save a little bit to make the purchases and upgrades!
Hah, keep a cannon for my Outlander, if you find one, will ya
P.S. daily deal, which seems fair priced: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074&cm_sp=DailyDeal-_-19-115-074-_-Product
You have to consider that most MMO games start development years before they see the light of gamers’ day. The production cycle usually starts in a totally different market environment that it ends in. For example when ANet presumably started work on GW2, presumably the best CPUs, when it came to gaming, were single and dual core Athlon processors. At the time business wasn’t that focused on multiple cores. There was even people who though that we might see a boom of motherboards with two sockets for CPUs.
So when you take that into account – pretty much every game out there is coded to use 2 cores at most, simply because the engine, which was developer first, works that way. You will still see massive improvement from high frequency cores, though. Not to mention a good motherboard can allow for over-clocking a lot more than just the CPU.
I am not quite sure, but doesn’t FX only work on AM3+? If you stick with AMD the best that you can hope of, is to match the processing power equivalent of Sandy Bridge (Intel second generation) i3. And that is if you go for Phenom II 965 (likely only available at small vendors that keep some old stash). All other, including the so called Bulldozer CPUs, are inferior. My advice is to go for an i5 CPU, even either Sandy or Ivy, doesn’t matter that much in terms of productivity. They are not that expensive nowadays. Only go for AMD if you are on seriously tight budget.
I used to be in the AMD camp for years, as they had great value for the price, but that’s not the case anymore. Sadly, Intel is at the moment the only CPU manufacturer worth considering. AMD can only compete in the segment of office computers where companies usually purchase in bulk without considering processing power.
Depends on your budget. New mboard (intel-based) and a new CPU might indeed be a good idea. GTX560 still counts as a good card. It has the advantage of also being affordable by most people, so you can probably also go for a dual-card setup, as long as your power supply can handle it.
You won’t really notice any improvement from a better GPU right now. The CPU usage is limited by the number of cores utilized by the game thread. 50% usage just means that GW2 uses only 2 of the 4 cores. I’m afraid the way to see improvement is OC.
