The 5th year is today!!!
I like it too and I’m most assuredly not weird.
Yeah, I can see it now. Farmer says while he mounts his raptor, “Well, time to work the fields.”
Here is my Elonian character who has been adventuring in Tyria since launch, with her new do.
(I did the best I could until the new features came out to give her an Elonian look, and am so happy now that I can be more accurate)
Well, remember, 250 years have passed here too. Things have changed. Maybe one of the specs changes a existing class to Dervish.
I always envisioned the Guardian as a offshoot of the Paragon. The Revenant seems to be an analog to the Rit. Dervish doesn’t seem to have anything similar to it though.
If it’s like the rest of the game, I really don’t care about the story, I only care about content.
Isn’t the story part of content?
HoT episodes take a bit longer than 5 minutes
I would love a dolphin pet!
I was able to login and play. I went to Verdant Brink for a short time, DC’d, then when trying to login again am told my character is in Auric Basin and I can’t connect due to bad network connection.
Well, I would really love to receive a Permanent Hair Style Kit. I seem to always want to change my hair at the drop of a hat.
Guild Wars is dead! Long Live Guild Wars!
Personally I find the Legendary armor skins to be repulsive.
Would love to see dolphins as ranger pets, not just as background. Can’t see that it would be too hard to establish as the skins are already out there.
Personally, there’s some pvp armor I’d like to get via an alternate method as I don’t care for pvp.
Let me ask you this….can you, honestly, trust a man who uses an overly grand and dramatic writing style to make an accusation with little to no actual evidence?
Is it “merely coincidence” that he uses excessive amounts of quotations to imply coincidence when a direct link would not be deduced if the evidence was presented neutrally?
Is it “merely coincidence” that he uses a writing style with phrases like “I will let you answer that” or “Let me ask you this” that imply neutrality when he is also leading people to the conclusion he wants them to draw?
Is it “merely coincidence” that his writing style implies guilt has already been clearly established when the evidence presented could be explained with half a dozen or more benign and completely reasonable explanations?
I will let you answer that, but to me, this is just like writing on the wall that points to one and only one truth.
He’s full of kitten and he knows it.
But seriously, dude, writing like this isn’t helping promote actual discussion nor is it scoring you any points with anyone with high school level critical thinking skills.
So then, let me ask one more question: Is it “merely coincidence” that John Smith has not answered me, or the community, with any explanation within 24 hours of this post being created? Since you like to pick apart my issue, let me be more specific: Is it merely coincidence that he hasn’t replied on how the involved parties (may or may not be a dev, directly) knew to begin dumping the items in question, and steadily lowering the price over the course of a month, or two?
Troll me all you want, but i’d like some answers, and i can assure you that it wasn’t “dumb luck” or “intelligent marketing”, or even “leaked patch details from a previous patch”. I can assure you of these things, because as a community, we are so driven for any “bone”(of information) that ANet throws to us, in terms of news, or progress on this game, that as soon as one person knows it, it goes viral both here, and on the subreddit.
And, its not only JUST the halloween skins. My community brought me up to speed on other incidents, just like this one. Such as the items on the TP that were collection items for an achievement called “Treasure hunter”. Apparently, the prices on these items soared, just before the announcement or patch was rolled out, where these changes went live.
Again, trolling me, is trolling yourselves. I understand you are so passionate about the game, that any idea of deceit from a company you’ve come to love and trust is the foulest thing you can imagine. It may not even be something the company condones. It may just be some dev’s buddies who got some insight that led them to this advantage on the market. That being said, i believe that ANet owes its playerbase some sort of assurance that the issue has been found, resolved, and will be prevented the next time something like this could potentially occur.
So, call everything i say is a fallacy, but the evidence is in the community’s observations, which have been thoroughly documented, not only on these forums, but on the subreddit as well. I think we deserve some sort of fairplay assurances from ANet internally, as well as their rules on hacking and cheating.
Show us the proof. Otherwise it is hearsay.
How about the town clothes that used to be offered?
Pets are not tied to specializations, they are the core mechanic for the ranger. Weapon specializations are different. Ranger can’t use the staff unless their specialization is active. So they are just as affected as other classes.
I guess I was at least expecting to be able to get Auric Slivers once in a while, but that does not happen. I only get the slivers from event rewards.
Exalted gathering does not work, all I am getting is regular nodes mats. Is this ever going to get fixed, or should we be able to get our mastery points refunded from a dead mastery?
How about a statue of Tybalt Leftpaw! One of the most popular characters in the gameworld.
Look online, it is going for about half the original price.
If an acheivement ever cried out for an appropriate title more, I don’t know what it is!
If you hate dealing with other people, why are you on hte forums?
Got my chest of exotic equipment and no exotics for revenant.
Ok, used tomes to level till I got the ability to switch out slot six skills, then chose my original skill.
The heal skill is the legendary dwarf, which I started with at level one. I can’t re-equip; can’t equip period. Guess I’ll try leveling up to 11 and see what I can do then.
Was participating in the Rifle Practice Heart in Claypool (Queensdale) with my revenant. When I completed the heart and left the area, I got my skills back except for my slot 6 skill. Tried logging out then in several times and still have no self-heal. It shows as available in the hero panel dealing with skills, but my number 6 slot is still blank.
“I hand-raised that minion!”
On the options menu, go to graphics, then make sure your vertical sync box is checked. I had the same problem; when i checked the vertical sync box, it solved the problem for me.
Anet’s “lowest common denominator” paradigm in action.

I fail to see a problem here, since those who bought the game at launch have had approx. 3 years of gameplay (with no monthly charge). I have enjoyed my time playing the game and don’t have a problem with Anet doing this.
Had no problems…
…only if that Druid is also Norn. Transforming into animal spirits is kind of their thing.
Exactly my thought.
The title of this thread seems to have nothing to do with the OP’s actual situation. He has been playing since Head Start. He is not a new player.
As title says, looking for people to help Ellen Kiel ‘step down’ and have Evon Gnashblade take his rightful place as one of the Council members.
ps. Voting was rigged – Kiel cheated!
On serious note: Anet this is fail :/. Gnashblade had so much better potential as a character.
If Gnashblade can’t even keep the TP working properly, what makes people think he could be an effective member of the Council?
I could care less for the Abaddon fractal. Abaddon is dead. Thaumanova sounds more relevant.
My concern with a “2 week” agenda is that they are pulling members away from developing an expansion. I hear rumors in-game about NCsoft not funding an expansion than they change their mind and they will. I don’t know the details of it but at some point I would like to see a fleshed out full expansion release returning to some of the former continents from gw.
There are massive threats and mysteries left in the gw world. Palawa Joko, Cantha, Elona, the Forgotten, human gods, it would be a share for this lore potential go unexplained.
I think the 2 week agenda has a positive in that it might help quell some of the complaints of boredom I always seem to hear in MMOs. There are a lot of players out there that would just blow through a new expansion in a heartbeat, then complain that there’s nothing to do. By gradually unfolding new regions and activities through LS on a two week schedule, there will always be something new to do.
Personally I applaud Anet’s willingness to go to a lot of effort to make the world more fluid. I’m tired of static games that change infrequently, if at all. If it means I don’t get every single achievement, then so be it. I’ll still get some and the world will feel more alive to me.
I totally agree. It is very annoying and is detrimental to immersion.
How about NO free transfers. Or, once a month free transfers. How is once a week transfers going to address community concerns? Especially if guilds collude to do a mass transfer to be able to fight against lower-rated servers? It’s not fun to see the map owned by one server from the get-go. I’d like to see more competition, not less.
This would be an excellent feature!
I like this idea as well. I have enjoyed fishing in —ahem-- other games, and would love to see this added.
I totally agree. That is the second most annoying thing about this game to me. I want to make informed choices, and simply knowing stats isn’t enough. I vote for a preview screen for TP as well!
I couldn’t help but wonder what Exotic Dyes would look like it.
Briefly speaking, I think it could look like some odd mix of colors, or maybe a two-tone color of some sorts that would make your armor look like one color during the day while it changes color during the night.
Of course, these dyes would have to be moderately hard to get, which may require doing more than just playing the RNG game with the Unidentified Dyes and the Mystic Forge. Maybe these would require a lot of Karma to spend, or 250 of four different ingredients for Chefs to make.
Here are some examples:
- Chameleon Colored Dyes: These kinds of dyes would have some kind of harmonic blend of colors that would make your armor shine a certain set of hues depending on the lighting and placement of your character.
- Examples: The best example of this color scheme would be found on these custom painted cars. On the Jeep Cherokee on that page, you could see how the yellows and greens work to make that effect. On the Dodge Charger with the green rims below it, there’s a shift between green and purple. Basically, it somewhat chrome-ish.
- Glow-in-the-Dark Dyes: These kinds of dyes would make your armor moderately glow in low-light, similar to how the bioluminescene works on Sylvari characters. With Halloween coming up next month, I think the addition of these dyes would do well. Although, to make it less obnoxious, it would be restricted to 1 or 2 parts of the armor piece instead of the whole armor piece.
- Patterned Dyes: These kinds of dyes would produce some kind of repeating or thematic pattern on your gear. For instance, instead of a solid color on the fabric draping down from your kilt, you can put a pattern that resembles plaid. Or maybe glittery stars. Or perhaps skulls and crossbones. These patterns would probably look best on the cloth parts of an armor set.
- Examples: Flower Lace , Hearts , Plaid
- Elemental Effect Dyes: With these dyes, you can add some kind of small animation effect to a part of your gear, such as floating rocks, snowflakes, lava, or water droplets. Due to the heavy effects of it, I would imagine that this dye would have restrictions for certain pieces of armor. I would suggest that it could only be applied to shoulders, gloves, or boots.
- The Amazing Ever-Changing Dye!: The product of a crazy Asuran experiment gone bad, with this dye, the color of your armor could change every x amount of minutes; or until you enter a new zone. You might be wearing Abyss dye while in Lion’s Arch, but when you head out into Orr, maybe you’ll end up with … Hot Pink?!
I like the way you think!
There are plenty of pants in this game. Matter of fact, medium armor actually covers you up the most. There’s only a few skirts for heavy armor, and there are many pants for light armor.
Use the transmutation stone if you don’t like the way you look. I honestly think light armor looks really nice in this game — on the other hand, medium armor I’m not too fond of, and heavy is okay..
All in all, GW2 can use some more/better design artists, because all the armors look really plain. I’m looking forward to expansions already (and new hairstyles).
I’m guessing you play as a male? Females wear 90% skirts or pants with buttcapes. We want straight PANTS JUST PANTS. No buttcapes. 95% of the medium armor for women is buttcapes! It makes it look like a half dress which is nice and all, but I want sometimes to just wear pants with a cute top.
Must say I agree. But how about more tops for medium armor which are not full length jackets. How about short jackets or simply tops/tunics?
This has really been a bummer for me too. I would really like to see this fixed.
Not everyone has 24 hours a day free to perfect their skills…
