Another build that would’ve been more attractive if Hammer had one simple thing: Blind Immunity.
Signet of Stamina active will clear a blind.
That wasn’t a good response, and I’m sure you’re about to be blasted for it.
He won’t though. Signet of Stamina is great yes, HOWEVER when you’re doing the burst, the time that it takes to land Earth Shaker allows blind to be timed easily.
You can see Earth Shaker coming from miles away due to the casting time. Now lets compare the casting time of blind such as that one Thief signet and Guardian blinds.
If Earth Shaker is granted blind immunity, then you still have Aegis and Guardian stability to counter it. The incentive just becomes more balanced that way.

They get kited even without applying chill or cripple generally. Which leads me to question why the hell did Jsharp not improve mobile strikes before hand.

I try try try to defend warrior viability. Post builds and equipment. Stream from war pov, run in a dual war comp, etc etc.
But the community has its mind made up, warrior is unviable.
Don’t bother trying to argue with this community. We’ll taste their tears when Warrior gets over-buffed.

For TRYING TO MISLEAD NEW WARRIORS TO HELL? Sorry man I have to stop him before he does things like this.

These set-ups are the SOLE REASON on why Warriors are bad. Because players recommend bad utility sets such as FGJ, Frenzy, Bulls Charge and people follow them anyways. Not to mention the fact that you think the 25 minor trait on discipline is actually worth taking.
No stability = you get interrupted even at point blank. And by point blank I mean specially when you’ve baited out stun breaks and they can surely die with Frenzy + HB.
Learn to use Balanced Stance for Christ sake if you want to “make PvP guides.”
Anything works in PvE, but if this is a guide for PvP then sorry. I recommend that you actually make a guide that HELPS NEW WARRIORS. NOT a guide that posts bad traits and utilities.

Dealing with conditions.
1.) You have range, use it. Most condition specs punishes melee anyways.
-Against caltrops though? Just stay alive and out-damage it in terms of team damage.
2.) Try to stay on par in terms of damage out-put in team fights.
3.) Know how conditions connect. If you can’t dodge Necro marks that are clearly visible in the point of objective then sorry, get your eyes checked.
Dealing with burst (Generally):
1.) You see a Thief with Venom? Pop Balanced Stance before he touches you.
2.) Dealing with Ele? They’re going to get nerfed anyways, don’t get worked up about not being able to match them right now in “un-even odds.”
3.) Mesmer burst? Try to whirlwind attack out of the immobilize. If you get stunned then tough luck. I wouldn’t be too worked up on this part either.
The reason why the build doesn’t have much condition cleansing or burst mitigation inherently is because it scales way too hard with team synergy. You easily take the role of both melee and range carry.
That being said this build can become no-brainer when you have things such as double Ele supporting you. That’s why I hate eles, they make things face-roll. But they’re going to get nerfed so don’t get attached to them.

Custom games replacing hot-joins while hot-joins replaced by solo que normal games.

You want to get better in PvP with a Warrior? I’ll give you a few options that you can do.
1.) Try to not ask “PvP” or “WvW” advice on the Warrior forums. Most of the people that will reply doesn’t even PvP let alone actually worked on getting better fighting other players.
2.) Ask good Warriors such as Defektive for advice via forum PM or in-game PM.
3.) Follow my stream and you might find the advice you’re looking for.
Also.. definitely agree with Elementalists and Mesmers being cheap classes. No point in picking ANY classes for those. Thief on the other hand? Its an L2P issue. When both Eles and Mesmers get nerfed to a reasonable level, Warrior will be fine.

Buff shouts and replace the sigils with something better, then the build suddenly looks promising.

sPvP competitive play nowadays:
“The more Eles, the better!”
“Portal + Time Warp is fair-game against those who aren’t going to rely on cheese”
“Warriors are underpowered and Thieves are overpowered, but in reality there’s no point in picking either over an Ele” (Look at #1)
Could name more to be honest.

1.) Basic rule #1, in skirmishes you have to “bait out stun breaks.” How? Flurry > HB, Skull Crack > HB. I highly recommend Mace + GS in small skirmishes.
2.) Basic rule #2, you only burn Frenzy + HB combos if you are sure you are going to get a kill. Basically looking back at rule #1, if the enemy does not have ANY stun breaks, Frenzy + HB combos will land. Always have Balanced Stance.
3.) Basic rule #3, you DO NOT initiate a fight with Frenzy + HB. If you do then you deserve to get punished for it.
4.) In order to land HB on a zerg, you must do what this video tells you to do.

Endure Pain > Balanced Stance > Flurry > Frenzy > HB
I suggest that you seek advice from players who actually took the time on making the Warrior class work such as me and Defektive. Don’t need to waste your time asking on the Warrior forums and ask for PvP advice. All you’re going to see is people who clearly didn’t try to make their class work.

1.) Fix Empathic bond so that the pet actually absorbs the conditions and they do not simply evaporate.
2.) Switch Zephyr’s Speed (5 trait in Beastmastery) with Loud Whistle (15 trait in Beastmastery). That trait is simply too strong to be that low in the tree.
3.) Increase the cooldown of traps or reduce their AoE by a small amount. At the moment, if placed right, traps can completely cover a node which allows for no skillful counter-play. Traps can be placed prior to any engagement and by the time they are triggered they are already up again.
With these 3 fixes, I think rangers will be fine.
1) you want a neft on the condition removal of the weakest condition remover in the game?
2) we have no role we excel at.. only jack of all trades.. I think this trait leans towards giving us a role in PvP
3) other AOE in the game covers the entire node as well, like the elementalist’s for example.. so asking for a reduction on our traps while no other class is affected?

the skill counter play is to get the kitten off the node when there are big red circles on it..Why does it seem like Knockbacks and Pulls are going to become the counter to Trap Rangers
Because it always has been. Hard CC hard counters zero stun breaks. Trap Rangers can get CC bursted if you force out the 90 second stun mitigation and catch them at the end of the dodge with a CC.

22k health and 2.1k armour? You also have absolutely no condition removal.
You will get shredded if caught by a burst/condition spec.
Really getting sick of know it all nobodies who think they’re the authority on the class and that they have a solid verdict. I’ll give you solid advice whether you like it or not. Read your PM.

I’ll repeat myself, do you honestly think your idea of one class allowed in tournaments is going to make a difference?
Are you really going to dismiss a prominent situation of a team with a Mesmer against a team that has none? You have too much map control and game changing BS like Time Warp. Inb4 you deny this simple fact and act as if Mesmers (one class making a difference) are balanced.
Until they fix this imbalance in which a team having one game changing class (such as Mesmer) that another team doesn’t have, effectively putting that other team at a disadvantage. Then they can decide whether to allow one class in tournaments or not. Because at this moment, your idea isn’t going to solve anything.
Get rid of time warp and balance the portal mechanic first such as getting rid of portal or giving EVERYONE the same mechanic at home point.

At the end of the dodge, you can catch them with a CC. Dueling caltrops is pointless to be honest, takes less effort to just “carry better” than focusing on dueling.

Long bow builds till involve Gs. Everything viable on warrior invovles great sword. I think thats part of the issue.
I just made Sword + Hammer work against decent players in paids moron. Read my other post. God be more simple-minded why don’t you.
I made a video showing potential of non-GS builds and he doesn’t check that out. Sigh.
Only problem is Ele’s need to get nerfed cause no reason to pick “Initiator” Warrior over that. Not to mention tactics minor traits is unattractive.

Warrior is an L2P issue, as is and as implied in SOTG. If Warrior is not cutting it for you you have 2 things that you can do:
1.) Play an easy class and just admit that you’re not a good Warrior. If the only argument that you have is “HB is hard to land” or HB is the only viable build (Learn to play issues), then sorry you are not the authority on this class and you are not good enough to say anything. So stop talking about Warriors if you’re not good with Warriors.
2.) Stop hesitating to ask players who are BETTER than you for advice. People have made Warrior work. HB isn’t the only viable build for Warriors competitive play. Need proof?

One class allowed per paid game? We only have 8 classes dude, this isn’t a MOBA game where bans and rules such as that will exist.
Also understand that even one Ele or one Mesmer is already game changing vs. a team that has none. Why? Time Warp and a hyper carry Tanky DPS. Scratch that, both Ele and Mesmer are hyper carry status, the true solution is either nerf them both to Warrior level or buff everything to Ele and Mesmer level or find equilibrium somewhere.

Really not going to argue with people who are simple-minded and will talk before actually trying something different. Hammer, Warhorn, Sword is viable in paids. GS isn’t the only viable Warrior build. Learn to play, have the decency to get better, and stop whining about lack of diversity. And most of all DO NOT hesitate to ask for advice on those who are better than you.
Warrior is a good roaming Tank who sets up kills and a good DPS carry.
Warrior is an L2P issue for the most part. Only reason why they need to get buffed is because slows are too easily reapplied (way too powerful in terms of efficiency too, much like “chill”) and tactics tree minor traits look unattractive. Add to the fact that Mesmers and Eles overshadow everything.

Could do:
-Endure Pain, Balanced Stance, Frenzy
-Bulls Charge, Balanced Stance, Frenzy
-Balanced Stance, Signet of Stamina, Frenzy
-Balanced Stance, “Fear Me,” Frenzy
Would never do boon duration runes though. Prefer more damage or Lyssa.

Whirling Axe animation doesn’t even look cool… simply because you look like a Ballerina while using it.
If it looked cool I’d use it even if the damage was extremely under-powered.

It isn’t a bad idea but even then, shouts doesn’t make your survivability higher than making plays around Balanced Stance, Signet of Stamina, and Healing Surge after clearing poison.

Java mentioned a team running two Long Bow Warriors back in SOTG. People believe Java implied that PZ was the only guild that could beat The Silent Threesome, my guild.
This rumor however is not true. We’ve been beat by teams other than PZ such as ND, HHaL, QT and etc simply because of a few simple facts: we refused to use Elementalists and Mesmers in our team comps. More-so we also refused to use Trebuchets and Resurrection Signets and game changing skills such as Time Warp. We would literally run an all carry comp without peels + condition cleansing. All because we all felt like playing DMD (Dante Must Die) mode.
TL;DR PZ isn’t the only team that can beat my team. So long as you have factors such as Trebuchet, Elementalists, or Mesmer, you have it easy against us.

Hammer – Blind Immunity on burst. Face it, it doesn’t make sense for Earth Shaker to miss at such a large radius or point blank range. And the fact that it already gets screwed over by random Aegis and Stability doesn’t justify making it easier to counter with blind.
Long Bow – 1200 Range baseline
Axe – Eviscerate has either of the two following changes:
1.) Increased range + smoother casting time
2.) 100% critical chance
Shield – Shield Stance grants stability for the duration of block. Stability disappears when blocking stance is cancelled.
Off-hand Axe:
1.) Whirling Axe damage is increased by 100%, cool down is increased to 30 seconds.
2.) Animation is changed into something flashy like..
Pay attention to the dual wielding Axe character. Old and clunky video I know, but its better than having a ballerina animation for Whirling Axe. Would make the off-hand axe more attractive if it happens.

Maybe listen to good Warriors for advice instead of blaming the class if its not cutting it for you? I mean you use FGJ, Bulls Charge, and Frenzy so you CLEARLY need to improve and in dire need of help. Why are you hesitating to ask for help?
Seriously, part of the reason why a class gets bad reception is because people don’t want to listen to people who know wth they’re talking about and thinks they’re already at a full potential to be saying jack about the class.
The real problem right now as Lowell state is that Ele and Mesmers are just too good. Believe me, Thief is a million times more balanced than those two other classes compared to Warriors.

There is no justification taking anything over a Mesmer. Or Elementalist. That unholy duo that rules WvW.

1.) I definitely agree with you that HB should be used as a “finisher.” And when I mean finisher, you deserve to get punished if you do not use it properly (I.E “initiating” with HB Bulls Charge Frenzy). When you use HB the proper way, you only use it when the target has no stun break OR when you are sure bulls charge is going to land.
2.) If HB ever does become a “combo finisher” what effect is it going to be? I don’t even know if Whirl or Blast even fits with HB as a “combo finisher.”

No reason to pick Leg Specialist over Empower. Leg Specialist is easily the best trait that you could get in that tree. The damage that you get from Empower isn’t much either.

This really isn’t a bad suggestion if you wouldn’t be allowed to use Berserker Power with it. And the effect in which “gain adrenaline when hit” needs to be baseline on the adrenaline mechanic.
Thick skin should simply be +100 toughness when you invest 5 points into Defense.

Again. I am NOT going to L2P until they fix the inherent imbalanced between Ele and Warrior.
Warrior to Necro is kinda balanced.
Warrior to Guardian is kinda balanced but isn’t clear.
Warrior to Ranger is balanced.
Warrior to Thief is balanced
Warrior to Engi is balanced
Warrior to Ele is imbalanced
Warrior to Mesmer or ANY CLASS to Mesmer for that matter is imbalanced
The only thing that’s imbalanced right now is Warrior compared to Ele.
Why do Ele + Ele + Warrior for a DPS roaming set-up when you can do Ele + Ele + Ele.
And why the hell is Warrior only viable vs. an Ele if you have another Ele carrying your kitten Same concept with Mesmers honestly.
Point being is, if Eles and Mesmers were more balanced, then Warrior wouldn’t be so “underpowered.”

Skill-based when Ele and Mesmer are face-roll at full potential? Please. Apply what you learned to a Warrior or an Engi and let me see if your QPs actually help. Because chances are you’re going to fail extremely hard.
And if you think everyone having an equal opportunity on making comps with the typical Ele and/or Mesmer being actually helpful for the game’s success, then this is where you are wrong. People want variety, this game lacks it A LOT.
And this is part of the reason why this game is a dead POS because you can’t simply play a character you feel like playing.

It didn’t necessarily say there weren’t going to be any balancing changes in February. All they said was WvW changes were going to be big so major changes will happen in March because of the amount of updates WvW has probably having a hard time fitting in February’s update.
Maybe February update which actually has a myriad amount balancing for PvP, who knows.

For PvE, I hate to admit it but GS is just so easy and more rewarding. The only time I could ever see Axe/Mace out-classing GS is with sustained damage, Tanky DPS builds for PvP.

You don’t know how hard other classes are to play compared to Mesmers. What you sound like is a spoiled kid who got spoon-fed up to 40 years.
So if you think Mesmers don’t need to get toned down or classes need to be buffed to Mesmer efficiency then you’re really simple-minded.
This isn’t a MOBA where character choice is an issue. This is a potential E-sport with only 8 characters to choose from, and if you honestly think Mesmers are fine right now then its time to grow up and stop being spoiled. And just understand that your character needs to get nerfed or characters need to get buffed to where Mesmers are.

A Mesmer telling people to L2P and get some skill when your class takes the least skill out of all classes. Come back when you’re a good Warrior, Ranger, Engi (Yes they definitely take skill now), or Thief. Chances are you can’t play a class that takes skill and is all words.

His solution: abuse a broken class to make Warriors viable. Get double Ele + Mesmer to bait out stun breaks for a Warrior just so Warrior can burn HB, Bulls Charge, Frenzy, Balanced Stance and instantly down + finish a target.
Come back to me if you can make a Warrior work vs. enemy Eles without having allied Eles to carry you.
No one likes preachers (Like you), no one likes to play Mesmer and Ele just so they can have a fair match. Prove to me that Warrior is fine without an Ele or Mesmer carrying him against a team with an Ele and Mesmer. Because chances are you’re all talk and words without worth.
You don’t even have videos or detailed proof, you only used numbers and didn’t even put jack to practice.

Nerf distortion you say? A skill that we can use ever 45 seconds if we trait. Then we have Blurred Frenzy which is every 10 if we are lucky. These 2 skills are the most reliable evade/block/invuln we have. Thief has how many evades available with no cooldowns thanks to initiative? Rangers have how many depending on the weapon set? D/D ele’s have better mobility than all other classes plus a bunch of blocks/invulns. Warriors/Guardians/Engie’s all have the ability to “block,block,block” again depending on weapons. Necro’s well yeah IDK about them. So nerf our OH S*** button that is available on a relatively long cooldown….. Yeah stop being a jerk.
ALSO Portal is getting shared as stated by the devs so just give up on it being removed.
Blurred frenzy, distortion and perma vigor makes it so that mesmers have one of the best tools for staying alive in the hands of a good player.
Saying they dont have a lot is ridiculous. For christ’s sake, you get a stun break on your staff…
Not saying mesmers need a nerf, cuz they don’t. I’m just aying that denying they get a lot of evades and other such nonsense on their main weapons that most other classes can only dream of.
eles have only 1 invuln and no blocks, thieves that blow their entire initiative load on their shortbow are either kitten or deeja and guardians only block block block during their heal. kitten son, get it together.
Come on ostrich, reading your post it sounds like you have a vendetta against mesmers.. while playing the soft counter d/d(Or are you still running around d/f) ele, you should be able to beat 99% of mesmers hands down.
You seem to have forgotten to mention Ele’s propensity to fullheal while in stability and perma access to protection/swiftness/fury…
And guess what, Rangers and Ele are the only classes that can match a Mesmer. Play a Warrior against a decent Mesmer, and come back to me. Actually try to get good with a Warrior and tell me if Mesmers and Ele’s are fair.
