Even though this topic is quite old I wanted to answer my own question for future reference.
I tested it and it’s possible to “store” four bouncing chests with login rewards. The fifth one will get transferred directly to your inventory.
OK, thank you all. I’ll have a look in the blog.
Have there been sales in the past years? If so, when exactly (which days) did they happen?
Yeah, it’s not that big of deal. I was just curious. Thanks for your explanation.
It goes to another track.
Am I able to see that bar? If so, where can I find it?
I haven’t played HoT yet but I own it. I’ve noticed that my experience bar isn’t moving it all (level 80, full bar). Do I loose all the experience when I don’t unlock masteries or is it stored until I unlock them?
Thanks in advance.
Cheapest depends on what gear you have already. What are you running?
Basically a wild mix of Berserker’s and Knight’s exotics with a few Carrion pieces mixed in. I’d really love to try out a (pure) condition berserker but I don’t know if it will be worth the investment. I love my swords and since a lot of the mobs seem to move a lot it’s very frustrating to need to reposition while Hundred Blades is active.
I currently prepare my Warrior/Berserker for HoT content. This is the first time for me to explore the jungle. And I want to be efficient as possible since I don’t have that much gold to constantly switch between different gear.
What kind of build/setup would you suggest?
If it’s possible in some way I’d love to have a well rounded and cheap build for all sorts of PvE content.

Maybe someone will know the chest answer…but I don’t understand something. If you have the 15 seconds or so it takes to log in, spending an extra 2 seconds to click on the login chest shouldn’t make a difference. Or are you talking about something else entirely?
As I said, I don’t want to fill up my inventory. Instead I wait until I’m in a city and put the stuff in my bank.
Hey everybody,
I tend to just log in when I don’t have the time to play to get the login reward. And I tend to wait until I get to a city before I open them. But now I can’t play for one or two weeks – I have time to quickly log in, that’s it – and I’m uncertain whether I should get them and leave them unopened for the whole time or just get a few and wait until I have time to play and open them.
Is there some sort of limit how many login reward chests can be stored by the game or is this indefinitely?
if you want to play with gs as you used to play with dagger/warhorn pre hot, than youre right…., gs doesnt rly work, its weaker
gs offers a new, unique way of playstyle, wich is different from dagger/warhorn, but not worse…, learn it and get used to it
If you’d go in detail and would describe what you mean by “learn it and get used to it” your post would be valid. But as it stands right now it’s nothing more than deliberate provocation and untenable assertion.
May I ask why you’re using the staff? Is it the best ranged weapon for necros? If so, why exactly is it the best one?
PvE >>
I have been using staff as my main weapon since gw2 beta. Before Reaper , I was using staff & D\F. Then I switched to staff \ GS as staff is the fastest life force regenerator when dealing with 3-5 targets besides its amazing utilities ( regen\bleeding per 4 sec is good for minions and it procs blood bonds easily. Its range is further than axe
I might try staff then but I need a good looking and cheap skin before that.
My reaper MM zerker build , switch weapons & use soul reaping for non reaper build.

Thanks, I’ll try that.
Hi,
I want to use an axe-wielding (because I’m bored of the other weapons) minion build on a standard necro (non-reaper) for HoT.
What do you think about that?
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRUQNBHbDbkhGaqx2awrGYvxRtQJ/hgoHgJQAMD02YOqWA-TxRDwAH3fIhSweK/ep+Dc9Cg0wAw8HA-e
Should I use Blood Magic instead of Soul Reaping to have access to Vampiric? Any other possible improvements?
My new ULTIMATE LEGENDARY BUILD 10.0! is better.
I was hoping for a focus but the torch looks interesting, too.
Focus is an offhand only weapon. Thats the thing.
It was but staff was considered a caster-/ranged-only weapon, too. That’s just a restriction the devs set previously but they can easily change that like they did with the staff.
also can a elite specialization grant a new weapon type to both hands when it comes to 1handers?
I think we would get it either as main-hand or off-hand weapon, most likely not both. At least they didn’t do that for other elite specs.
I’ve read about fist weapons a lot of times when the topic was the upcoming elite spec for warriors. It’s pretty safe to say that Berserker is the name of the elite spec and fist weapons would fit. But since the devs won’t add a new weapon type we either get transformations OR…
We get a focus. When I first read a comment suggesting a focus as a new weapon I thought “what a dumb idead, to add a magical weapon for a physical class”. But then I saw two specific focus skins yesterday:
Balthazar’s Focus:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/6/66/Balthazar%27s_Focus_Skin.jpg
Dwayna’s Focus:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/c/cd/Dwayna%27s_Focus_Skin.jpg
If staffs can be used as melee weapons soon why can’t this be true for other ranged weapons, too? The linked foci look like they could be used as fist weapons.
What do you think about that?
How do you define “worth it”? And which game modes are you playing?
It’s a trap!
/15chars
So, how does a full Zerker party look like? :>
Besides that: you should be careful with threads like this since you might get an infraction for it.
Dagger/dagger !!!!
Either dagger MH or OH. Both seems very unlikely.
Melee staff. /15chars
For some reason it seems like the spec will be power based
I think it a mix of power and condi. In the HoT Announcement Trailer the attacks have a “burning weapon” effect with a “fiery explosion” effect at the end.
The answer to “what is it” is:
Shapeshifters (new F1 skill) with conjurable weapons as utility skills.
Why not add all your ideas to the first post instead of spamming posts and ideas all over the place which makes it hard to read?
1. There are several specialization threads on the first page of the warrior’s sub-forum already.
2. Rytlock is now (in HoT) a revenant and what you see in the trailer is a staff as melee weapon which is one of the weapons for revenants.
1. Weapon
I think the Warrior is going to get “unarmed” fighting. I think you’ll equip gauntlets or knuckles, things like that. You can equip them as main hand or off hand (so you could use a gauntlet main, and shield off, for example).
Not possible since Anet won’t add a new weapon type.
[…] and making condition warrior viable.
Condition warrior is viable.
Agreed. I’d love to use more powerful axes and swords.
Move the bonus might on Crit on Forceful Greatsword
Dude, warrior got nerfed thousand times in the past already, stop screaming these kind of things here on the warr forum >:-(
This isn’t a nerf.
… and you want them to buff GS, the only weapon PvE warriors use. sigh.
Nope, I only use axes and swords.
I didn’t realize that you were the OP.
I’m not the OP but one of the “PvE warriors” mentioned in the quoted post.
I didn’t realize that you were Kristophoros.
… and you want them to buff GS, the only weapon PvE warriors use. sigh.
Nope, I only use axes and swords.
Yeah this is a troll thread.
Everybody knows that warrior’s DPS was buffed in the june 23rd patch to the brink of insanity… right?
It’s comments like these that will eventually see us nerfed back into oblivion. Just hush-hush it man
A nerf because of a comment? I don’t think the devs are that weak-minded.
Sword always was viable in open world PvE and became more powerful in the recent update.
Is this a troll thread?
Torch is most likely will be added for warrior because warrior – “Berserker” you set youself on fire, gaining adrenaline.
you set youself on fire
Self-immolation? Martyr confirmed for elite spec.
Zealot’s Flame
Can dual axe be made viable or are other combinations just better?
The goal is to kill things. Axes are able to kill things. Ergo: axes are viable. Greatsword is more efficient (in group scenarios) though.
Every class gets a new weapon to use right now most classes get a new weapon that already exists (guard-longbow,necro-greatsword, engi-hammer pretty sure,thief-staff pretty sure) as you can see all these weapons affect the first 5 spells so given that its sure to assume that the warrior also will get a weapon for all 5 weapon slots or a compensation like double pistol.
1. ALL professions get a weapon that already exists.
2. Mesmer – Shield: Just two skills are affected.
Those were days when players just played what they liked because they had no idea what was the most efficient way to play
There was a “meta” as early as October 2012. Unless you want to go back to launch when doing the simplest dungeon took an hour…
But only a few knew of it. Yeah, one hour is a lot but if I enjoy this hour I’m fine with it. At least it’s far better than insults as the only type of communication and toxic behavior all over the place. A big part of this discussion is similar to that. But I’m way off-topic.
Regardless of weather they notice it or not they still don’t want on in the group
And that is why many of us don’t play with pugs. Preconceptions and ignorance. Most pro dungeon runners don’t run with them either cause you can’t guarantee they are running proper builds.
That’s also the reason why I enjoy GW2 less day by day. GW2 gives us a lot of options but often just one of them is considered to be worth using. Even total newbies demand meta builds of their group but hardly know what it is. And if they play meta themselves a lot of times they don’t know how to use it. I bet a bad played meta build is way less efficient than a well played non-meta build.
Those were days when players just played what they liked because they had no idea what was the most efficient way to play and the party communicated to solve difficult situations with tactics. Today this is hardly possible, even in specific guilds.
My contention is that they need to buff Vital Shot and convert Unload into a cone AoE.
I was always wondering why is my Vital shot being fired only from my right hand pistol. Would it not make sense to use both pistols for it? If anyone know Lucian from LoL,that’s what i mean
It would be cool looking but from a game mechanics perspective it wouldn’t make sense since all auto attacks use only your main hand weapon resp. the weapon skills use just the weapon they’re associated with. That’s how every weapon skill on every class works (except for dual skills on Thief).
Compare it to league of legends or counter stirkes or wahtever, this is fact that it juat changes too much.
You should compare it to games with an equal amount of variables.
Because WE GETTING GREATAXE WITH ELITE SPECIALIZATIONS
yay say it with me family! !!
Greataxe Greataxe. How i love my Greataxe. ..
Greataxe Greataxe, how i love my Greataxe!!!
Unless we don’t get a greataxe (conjuration) and the artwork shows just a NPC.
It is fast paced, especially with that trait that speeds up your attacks with the swords (forget the name of it).
Dual Wielding? IIRC somebody on the forums wrote that it is bugged and reduces the distance of Savage Leap. Furious might be the better trait for swords.
I hadn’t heard that. Has it been confirmed?
I don’t know, I haven’t traced that discussion. Maybe I’m able to find it again…
Edit: I can’t find the topic anymore, neither on the official forums nor on Reddit. Maybe it was just in my dreams. -.-
(edited by Orcinus Orca.8627)
I’m currently playing a Zerker Greatsword build which is powerful and OK but I want to try a condition build with a torch and whatever you’ll suggest. How will it perform compared to a melee power build in open world scenarios?
I’ve been a fan of dual swords as well (came into GW2 as an ex fury warrior, so is not new).
With the new traits system i’m having tons of fun with them, without even investing in condi gear.
I’m running a knight/zerker set as i’m not a hardcore player and prefer a defense buffer to play stress free, anyway i see bleeds doing more damage now than before the patch on a dedicated rampager armor. Takes a bit to start, but once gets going all the arms traits sinergize into a bleed machine. That said, i have a pair of axes as well, because they are just as fun. If you don’t care about meta/hardcore play, just get a versatile armor and collect weapons.
At least is what i’ve did, and keeps the class fresh
That’s probably what I’ll be doing. Zerker armor and trinkets, two swords with condi damage and 2 axes with Zerker stats. So I’ll be able to constantly switch between them and have fun with both of them. Thanks.
