Today we hit an internal milestone: we locked down all content and feature development for Path of Fire. We now move the game to our staging servers and start final preparations for launch.
This expansion is all about content, and today’s milestone marks the completion of eighteen months of content creation. It’s been a labor of love for the team. We hope we’ve brought each story chapter, each open-world zone, and each mount up to the level of what you experienced in the demos last month.
Thanks to everyone who joined the demos and the stress tests. We used those tests to inform our final balance tweaks, and to squash some bizarre bugs that we could only reproduce under heavy load, like the one where Raptors would randomly show up in non-demo maps.
We’re in the home stretch. Eleven days to launch! We can’t wait to play Path of Fire with you!

A single griever’s grievous behavior is nothing compared to what grief a group of grievers can cause. I see no need for a rename.

Yes and No. I’m a pretty newish wvw player and focused mainly on PVE. I dabbled in WvW in the past and enjoyed it so the rewards give me incentive to play the game mode more. That being said, I’ve decided that I would like to go for the sublime chest piece which apparently will take me a long time. That’s fine by me as I actually like the game mode. However, since it’s such a far off goal I’m not focusing on pips at all. I have to be level 2000 to even think about the armor and at level 450ish i have a long way to go so my focus for now is grinding as much WXP as possible.

[Suggestion] Outnumbered Pip Rework

-Removes Outnumbered toxicity by taking away the need to seek out outnumbered maps. People will no longer be upset when the buff disappears.
Your idea would increase toxic behavior and not remove it.
Currently we have a few people on one empty map who may be annoyed about losing the outnumbered buff.
With your idea we would have people on four maps who’ll lose the outnumbered buff:
A commander tags up.
“WTF, tag down you kitten commander, we don’t want to lose the buff.”
People shouldn’t get rewarded for their efforts to get a commander to rage quit, so that they may get some outnumbered pips.
Other solution: win the fight.
Usually I can tell how the fight is going by whether my toon is dead or not. If I’m dead, usually a lot more than half of my squad are already dead or downed and we’re going to lose the fight. It’s waypoint time.
Of course, I don’t generally play spam 1 tag build so don’t ever see 5-10 bags around my corpse either…
Solution; Don’t die.

you can finish the daily by doing the other 3 so i think it is okay
Just 2 things became better:
- Daily Farm custom arenas became useless and now you need to actually play PvP to get the PvP daily done
- You aren’t forced to play a class that you dont play well just to do the daily

I agree that the based pips need to be adjusted to shorten the required play time for newer players. I do not agree that the veteran bonus should be any less ahead of new players than it is now.
IE, if base pips are tuned up to+5, bronze players should be getting +5 on top of the new base, etc for all ranks above.

This isn’t even getting into the Outmanned buff being the biggest key to getting through these Skirmish levels. This rewards a type of play unnatural and harmful to WvW.
Not 1 spamming in a map queue sized blob is unnatural and harmful?
The outmanned bonus is by far the best addition of the new reward system, it actually encourages players to break off in small groups and try to do kitten on their own. I’m astounded that anyone would actually be opposed to this.

First threads i see in wvw section “Lower the rank for armor” “Give EotM pips”. Holy kitten people are so kittening entintled nowadays. Most usually pve players, they are so used to getting a lot of stuff for no effort and that disease is now spreading into wvw. IF U WANT THE REWARDS JUST kitten AND GO FOR IT INSTEAD OF ASKING FOR FREEBIES,
This is coming from a mainly pve player who got leg armor and is now hunting for the wvw (150 rank so ways to go) armor+back. And yes pve entitlement has become a disease for this game.

Actually, i find the current implementation really good. The main reasons are :
- It puts a Long term goal to those players, that truly want to invest time to WvW.
- It puts a barrier on players who come only for the rewards in WvW. Once they get their rewards they disappear again.
- It actually rewards veterans who had invested time to WvW. Players who stayed loyal to WvW, even though the mode was neglected a bit in the past.
1 No deathsrhoud or Reapershroud on necros anymore
2 Consume conditions doesn’t consume conditions anymore but still stacks 25 stacks of all conditions on the player even non intensity stacking conditions become intensity stacking conditions on top of having a 100 percent duraction increase so yeah 25 stacks of chill. Each stack doubles the effect and duration of said condition.
3 Plague signet’s passive absorbs all conditions on from both the players allies and opponents and changes it into super agony. If the user decides to send the uncleansable super agony back to his opponents it sends an automatic 29 k heal on all allies regardless of thier position on the map with 25 stacks of protection, regen, resistance, swiftness,vigor and alarcity. each stack doubles the boons effect
4 Soul marks generate 100 percent class specfi energy for the enemies team that stand on it. all damage and condi damage is reduced by 99 percent
5 Scepter AA 3rd attack will cleanse a condition on the target

There is already a mechanism that corrects the current disparity in pip generation. If a new player stays active in WvW they will eventually catch up to veteran players in pip generation because it takes more ranks to progress through the higher rank tiers.
A new player gaining 2000 ranks could see +3 pip generation while a veteran could see no change.
Id rather see bonus wxp ( which will equate to more pips in the long run) or make the existing exp infusion apply to wxp.

Constructive feedback: join a gold that is about becoming good at raiding and playing at picture perfect settings. Try RTI.enjin.com as they don’t have requirements for their raids

TLDR: I stopped using LFG and browsing guilds to try and get into raids, and instead, just went out and talked to people about joining a group. My attitude towards raids went from salty to satisfying in about one hour.
To begin, recently Wooden Potatoes went on a rant the other day about how so many people are mad that a good story is attached to a raid. In a Reddit post showing this video, there are many replies that boil down to, “It’s hard to get into, raids are not accessible.” For the longest time, I considered myself part of this mindset. Here’s the Reddit post
Unlike these people, the video didn’t make me upset, but inspired me to consider reaching out more and changing my strategy when it comes to finding a group. Before then, I would just casually browse LFM from time to time, hoping that someone is requesting a condi necro/general dps, as that is my only character with both ascended weapons and jewelry, and at the same time, post on LFG requesting any wing. This strategy didn’t really work for me, as it seems that professions that are good at buffing are valued above all else. I also tried looking into other guilds, but I didn’t want to do anything that might compromise my ability to participate with my main guild.
Then, last night, I did something that most people who complain about raid accessibility would probably consider craaaaazy!
I simply went into the aerodome and typed in chat, “Anyone training new players in raids? I’m a condi necro who is willing to learn any wing. I have TS.” Immediately, I got several replies! The group I ended up joining didn’t even require TS, they used Discord, a communication tool that works right off your browser. We spent about an hour learning the first encounter in wing 3 and eventually, we finished it! It was no speed run, and we didn’t move on to other encounters in the wing, but it felt good to beat the escort and I met a lot of people along the way. If it wasn’t so late at night, we could’ve probably tried our hand at Keep Construct.
We didn’t clear the wing, but I don’t think that’s the point of raids when you’re just starting out.
I guess the point of my rambling is that I hope you all who are intimidated by raids can learn to approach it with an open mind. For the longest time, I was in the same camp as the rest of the casual player base, writing off raids as something for this exclusive club of teenagers and young adults with a lot of time on their hands and feeling left out when I learned that a good story was a part of raids.
Being a very shy person by default, making myself known in a random aerodome instance was a big deal for me and really took me out of my comfort zone. Despite my initial discomfort, I ended up having a lot of fun, even though my group really didn’t make it far. I will probably start spending more of my free time practicing raids while gearing up the rest of my characters.

F2P players in platinum??

If free to play player is in platinum, then he has the skills to be in platinum. Dont blame others for your loss or lack of skills.
Today I reached this fight. I have been trying to do this fight for about 20 minutes now. I can’t. I would like to give some feedback on this fight.
The fight itself is fairly well balanced. The strategy is clear but the issue is it’s nigh on impossible to solo for the following three reasons
Reason 1: Allies
None of your allies do anything. I have 4 allies here . We have fought together through thick and thin. The entire section is about us getting back together after being split
Why is it then that my allies are doing nothing. Is it intentional or are they bugged?
Reason 2 : Caithe
This ties in to the above. Thoughout this mission Caithe has been amazing about getting you back up if your a solo player.
She suddenly stops once this fight kicks in. If this is foreshadowing for what is to come then cool but as it is your expecting her aid and it just stops..
Reason 3 : Predator Health Regen Timer
Now I’m not sure how this works but the issue is because the Predator is not drawing any aggro off your allies due to them being broken. The Predator can and will regen its health unless you respawn, run to the gate , hit f and tag him.
This timing has to be perfect, most of the time by the time I got back in to the boss a few milliseconds made the difference between it reclaiming 5% health and it regenerating fully
Please either extend this or move the respawn point closer to the centre so the player has more time to get back in and if need be attrition the Predator to death.
Thank you as always though for a beautiful game. This was just proving frustrating.

mesmer(mesmer wins locations where thief cant steal but thats quarry and mine out of every single node in the game) , rev, necro, ele
while also beating all of these classes in mobility
thief used to have bad 2v2 but it’s really something you can debate right now since you’ll always get a 2v1 opening and nobody other than scrapper and warrior can properly sustain a thief 2v1.
tldr every single top player agrees that thief is insane right now except for sind whos clearly unbiased.

This system is clearly not intended to prevent landslide victories. If your server is losing by x2 points, it was never going to win. It does make it harder to get a landslide victory, but your server has to actually win skirmishes to keep up.
It does seem to reward well rounded coverage over strong coverage in certain timezones, which is why servers that have huge ticks during NA are losing to servers that have average ticks all around.
