well that was a pretty casual pace imo … we just finished Arah path 4 last Tuesday obtaining the dm title in the process

all at the same time which was pretty cool

Thanks to our warrior friend for coming online just as we were starting lupi once and then leaving right after. Thanks again to our warrior friend for doing path 4 up to the orbs before leaving to get some sleep. But special thanks to the awesome guardian who came to my simple lfg plea said only “simin” party composition ele/ranger/ranger/thief. We had tried four manning it for an hour before you came. Thought for sure you would quit but you were the definition of patience and I am pretty sure we left you petrified for a minute at a time….twice simins health dropped down to where I thought for sure she must be dead only to have it rise to 25% again.

kids were falling asleep… I looked over and saw one of them about “10 meters” from simin just standing there swinging away at his sword… passing out… I had a crazed look in my eye “nobody quits! we are not quitting this close! move over to the boss so you can hit her”

though after I realized we had been fighting ourselves by not concentrating on gathering the sparks more efficiently… much more difficult than it should have been

Generous Guardian lead the way to the final thing and told us to might and fgs rush the thing and I was happy to oblige. It was a gimme after the previous death match.

thief age 10/11 -2300ap approx.

in before “my 2 year old brother did it” and “my dog Rufus did it”

definitely doable … nine months or so I forget is pretty casual imo

Finishing it with them was my personal story and endgame so I am done here. Thank you for the adventure Anet. I hope that someday they remember the time their dad did this with them.

Info:

Started off doing the story modes then worked our way up through them in the natural order. We left Aetherblade path till the last few.

Berserker gear was worn but stats and upgrades were defensive in nature till Hotw storymode where I could see that they were able to handle full zerk. Oh ya the young ranger started off in carrion but he started concentrating on just wacking stuff with his greatsword so I later switched his condition stats to precision and bonus damage which changed his playstyle not at all.

Once we hit Sparky and Slick the two kids were just getting ground down by the constant slow damage so I changed their setups which they kept the rest of the way though

ranger… I switched to 4/4/6(barkskin)/0/0 Valkyrie armor/runes of the ranger/zerk weapons and jewellery/food and upgrades to achieve 50% crit chance and 220% crit bonus damage

thief… I switched to “heal on hit” 4/4/6/0/0 Magi armor/traveler runes/zerk weapons and jewellery … thief changed class to guardian and switched back and forth between them as he saw fit… guardian was the class for him … he was throwing up blocks and reflects for us without being told anything
Mrs. Bearbow stayed in zerk the entire time. Well except for Lupi and the odd other encounter. We were not good enough with Lupi so for that we switched to surviveablity (except for barkskin ranger who never changed his setup) and did the event with ranged weapons. Grub part 1 or 2 would range lupi while 3 would use sword and kill grubs then for last two stages all would range. I imagine that is how most noob groups do it. It was slow but dependable always working on the first try.

My builds usually zerk warrior 6/6/0/0/2 greatsword and axe/axe or gs/rifle. Lupi I went soldier/6/0/4/4/0 runes of dolyak healing signet. Ele I used everything sometimes full water build… alphard the four of us stacked behind a post and I was in water the entire time… idk it got it done… what a buggy path… least favorite of all the dungeon paths.

We killed almost everything and stacked about 3 times in total. For us stacking would have been unepic but that is just how we wanted to play. If we were running that stuff multiple times Id stack the kitten out of it but just one time for us.

Haha about the only thing we didn’t kill was Lt. Kholer. For some reason at the time we didn’t beat him. We tried three times, once per path, and failed each time. I thought about going back and kicking his kitten but he beat us fair and square at the time. Victorious he will remain. My he kick many a noob kitten in the future.

for sure do the story modes as they become available… imo ac story is tuned to level 30’s …lvl 80’s cause the stuff in there to just explode on contact

should find a way to make it work… huge console market out there or am i wrong ? … according to the last podcast from massively only 15 percent of skyrim players were pc players

dedicated puggers are a tough breed i think … no voice coms … random players … always a guess to what the other players will do … must be adaptable to any scenerio … must swallow all pride for the sake of getting the run done … must maintain composure through 600ap players asking if you have done this before

yes as they already said just make an lfg stating that you intend to watch the cutscenes… also enter the dungeon first before making the lfg

if anyone complains after joining your lfg feel free to unleash your frustration all over them

yes. you need to go into your cpu control panel and make sure it isnt set to clerics. if it is then switch it to berserkers. this should up your fps

eh better to form your own group and not reduce the number of different ways a dungeon can be completed, eliminating stacking would reduce the game

the beauty of these dungeons is that anyone can make their own instance and complete it any old way they want

at your level equip all gear with the power stat and upgrade with vitality pebbles…its been a while

going to estimate that ive done it 50 times since us pugs started to wait till detha is out of combat before bringing her to the center and only once has she bugged out

i was pretty sure we all waited but that one time she bugged out and could not be fixed

so estimate 98% success if everyone including detha drops combat before bringing her to center

of course you could kill everything

I once ran AC with PUGs, and this Warrior kept thinking he’s invincible. Come Kholer, every single time he gets downed (and he gets downed a lot), he’ll type “HEAL MEEEEEEEEEEE!”.

And he says “I’ll tank just HEAL MEEEEEEEE!!!”. Well, he’s a tank alright, he doesn’t dodge.

there is a button at the top middle of your screen that should give you access to your pvp build. you are given generic pvp build automatically but you can modify it

50 silver… i believe that is the reward for doing the level 30 dungeon

you probably just want to have one drop just because… thats how i am if one dropped id just sell it anyways

but let me guesstimate…. assuming that they can drop inside dungeons and that ive spent 2000 cough cough hours inside dungeons and four other players were there too and that surely they would have linked a precurser had one dropped…. possibly more than 10,000 hours… lol…. so ive personally witnessed 10,000 hours of no drop…. an infinite amount of time due to rng is possible

im going to make another wild guess…. for a while it seemed that I saw legendaries every where and on every player… im assuming that many players consider that their endgame… im assuming that they have quit and im assuming that the drop rate has been lowered as a result… i got my tinfoil hat on so hard i had to cut eyeholes in it

i think i earn 5g per day and gw2spidy says dusk is 1300g so 260 days for dusk… adjust for inflation

a quick estimate says that probably 1500 gold has flowed through my fingers that I can remember since launch… atm i have 2g in wallet… haha… lollol…. waaaaa sob… LOL

you can always retrait for defense or put crest of soldier into berserker gear if you want but no matter what you do you will not be able to max damage other types of gear

what is with the mobs in CM ? cant knock them down and they are strangely immune to stuff … how about they have boons of stability that come and go so we can knock them down but need strip boons or pay attention to them

Purple. its true I did a poor job of supporting them i gave no advice on skills buffs whatever. i like to think ive improved since then but ive gotten tired of ele so unlikely to see. that was the worst run usually they went better. also the number of new players has dropped imo and i have little interest in running people leveling their alts… they can make their own groups and do it themselves

I made an lfg for and was the dungeon host for an “ac path3 lvl35+”. As a side note I was on my geared ele 80 which in my opinion is an excellent support class for ac if needed. This was while the standard method of spider boss kill was to stack for the entire encounter. It turned out that my choice to bring the ele was a good one as I got all under 80 players who were new to the dungeon. All except for one of them who gave me the impression from the way he played that he had done the dungeon before but long ago as he kept doing everything the old ways. I suggested to him that the unwritten rule of lfg’s was to stack and skip and that he should come stack with us. He responded so I know he could read English but continued to wipe us by causing aoe.

I made the decision to not kick him (the other new players either didn’t know what kick was or were too nice. I said in chat “ok everyone out in the open we are doing this old school”. Which we proceeded to do. Then he insisted that we do kholer which I again allowed (new players should experience doing kholer anyways imo) where we wiped a couple times as he was determined that we do it old school. By this time the others were asking if we were nearly done yet and I could tell they were getting close to quitting so I then hurried us along and skipped everything possible.

At the final boss I say “we are stacking this boss as they have all been in here long enough and I don’t want anyone to quit this close. they have been in here a long time.” He proceeds to kite the boss out of our site from the stacking spot and I then decided to kick him. I figured we could four man it … nope. After wiping made an lfg and his replacement was a very new player. The boss proceeded to kick the living kitten out of us all and wiped again at which point the new player quit (Im surprised no one else did). Lfg again and an experienced warrior or something came and we barely managed to kill the boss.

I regretted a couple decisions that run. The last one being to insist on stacking the last boss… we probably would have killed it first try nonstack.

What would you have done?

Remirome I like your idea. Ive wondered on a ac story speed run why the three (four counting both lovers) champs before the final boss are not done at the same time.

it is interesting that you see yourselves from the perspective of the three and believe that your choice to not do kholer is the correct one… unable to accept someone elses wishes as relevant as if there is a correct choice and as if there is an order it is to be done in… an order taught to you and that you accepted and now anything outside of the box causes distress… as if everything must be written in the lfg and accepted as a legally binding contract… i dont even remember what the lfg said but somehow you seem to know that it said nothing

Mine "ac path1 after the second scepter pieces have been gathered but before running through the last tunnel the dungeon host, who posted the lfg, says we are doing Kholer… one players says here is five silver we are not doing Kholer and proceeds down the tunnel… I proceed to Kholer…. other two player pause for a second and one follows down the tunnel…. third player pauses a second longer and follows down the tunnel….host is standing still halfway to Kholer the entire time… Im at Kholer host starts toward me after the other three run down tunnel

vote to kick initiated by the host and seconded three times by me in the space of three
seconds

one came back and helped us kill kholer it was all good

this is the kind of stuff that makes dungeons interesting imo

when they dont know how to do it and i tell them but they just keep typing out what it says in the wiki like i dont exist and then we wipe again….i dont know much but i do know a couple things….. i think i must be an idiot but im the only one who doesnt know it…this is what the evidence suggests… thanks for letting me tag along guys and carrying my idiotness

minecraft is the best game ive ever played…dropped in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a piece of zombie flesh to keep me from starving…creeper got into our chicken farm….

i believe this came about after some sort of patch that was supposed to make it impossible to kill mobs while at the same time them not being able to hurt you back….like shooting them from a safe spot

but this doesnt work cause as long as one party member can be hit by the mob the rest of the party can still damage the mob…probably i dont have it quite right… but the mobs cannot hit you back too well when you hit them from the table top

this is how i kite for him in my thief if we are doing it that way…

avoid even going near hodgins

use shortbow and just keep dropping the poison field on hodgins so as to aggro any mobs
that approach him

have 25% travel speed bonus on to make your life easier

have stun breakers on in case you get knocked down

just spam poison field

sorry. dungeon budget has heen spent

in the meantime make your own groups or join paths that have reduced stacking

if i were you id stay away from coe

i only do a couple easy paths but id recommend ac path1 and se path 1. most groups dont bother stacking ac boss and se golems are just kittens

or if you want a bit of a challenge make an lfg like “ac path2 lvl 35 and up welcome” sometimes you get all newer players they dont stack anything and want to do everything.good times!

only way it works is if we all respect each others lfg

but i just wanted to suggest that wars develop an attitude…. they begin to believe that they must be pro because the class is so good it goes to their head…. the only example i have to back this up is myself … i had a bit of an attitide on my war

just joined a party of three rangers …lfg said new to dungeon… killed spider out in the open area their first try… then i joined a typical group and of course we smashed the spider in corner as usual… i never noticed any difference what so ever … first i saw of it was the op’s post

Three level 80s is a pretty serious commitment to the game. Good to see Anet playing their game which is what caught my interest here. If I had to guess I would guess 1000hours logged as a player. How do you kill that which has no life? Make love not GuildWars

How about a cake with two candles on it? Its a tray type consumable and everyone nearby can have a slice if they like. And the birthday boy gets to use the title “Birthday Boy/Girl” for the day. hehe

they probably just want the best odds of getting a fast run….they have one hour to play and dont want to spend that hour wiping… they are trying to farm gold as fast as possible…. explore modes were advertised as places to do thing as you like …. its a private instance you can do whatever you want so you just need to find four people that want the same thing as you…. you want anet to tweak those classes? ok i respect your opinion

bad player can be decent on a warrior but bad player is bad on ranger
