Can someone explain the meaning of the red targeting symbols that appear on the ground around the feet of your target or yourself. It appears to me that if an enemy is attacking you that a red symbol appears on the ground in a circle around your feet. Also seems to come into effect if your are about to recieve an aoe attack. Not sure but sometimes the symbols appear different in different situations. If you can make this clear to me as to what is exactly going on I would appreciate it. Thank you.
Gem store vanity pets such as a mini Kholer that perform their signature moves. Also vanity pets that come with their own little legendary weapons that they show off. Cause I think this would make you some money Anet.
Dont sell anything yet till you figure out what it is. Who knows you may have some precursers or legendarys in there.
Get onto voice chat and have someone who can see the pre-pull pose callout “dodge” at the appropriate times.
No need to dodge everytime. Run behind a pillar, use stability, use smokescreen, use mist form, ect. I think blocking works too.
While maintaining the core vision of gw2 pvp focus most resourses onto the pvp side of the game for a couple months. The pvp players need some love I think.
ok. Whether on my end or not just did AC story mode with players from 5 random servers and was not disconnected. Seems to be all better.
Since the patch today I have been disconnected 5 time. Finished downloading at 7:20pm server time and it is now 8:20pm server time. So 5 times in one hour. So far it seems fine as long as it is just me on my home server (borlis pass) but when guesting onto Crystal Desert I couldnt go 3 minutes without losing connection and dc’d 3 times from Crystal Desert (I was in a party with a guild member from Crystal at the time). I then logged in again but this time back onto my own server Borlis Pass, still in party, left the party, and joined a random party of people from other server to do AC story mode. Didnt even make it to the second room before I was disconnected twice. I will try again tomorrow night. Oh as far as I know I did not lose internet connection in my house.
Things like the thief’s shadow refuge (I wonder why its called a refuge? Lol no really that thing is awesome for reviving pwople in) will have more value. Warrior’s war banner revives 4 at once and ele’s signet which can revive 3 players at once as well. What other skills such as those do other classes have? Have some hope people.
Man I missed the great post right above me? Sorry. But as well warrior “endure pain” great for giving a quick revive while under attack and thief’s “smoke screen” great for reviving someone while under ranged attack.

Im just one player but…I Dont farm I just play the game. Any green get tossed in the mystic toilet for rares. Any rares get tossed in for exotics. Exotics get recycled same place. If I somehow get an ecto it goes in my bank.
No responses to your post so here you go. To your suggestion I say not as a question “why not!”. What do I care what you do? I Dont. Now Im guessing that this isnt going to happen so I will attempt to help you out. First yes, other humans can be a pain in the kitten. Not me though. Just all the other stupid and unreasonable people! Really its not that bad in a group and in my experience at least 80% are a good experience. Only maybe 3% are really unpleasant and those are the groups that you just quit. Dont waste your precious gw2 playing time on the 3%. Just quit, get into another group and the odds are that it will be a good experience. Give it a chance. Do it or Dont idc.
Ac is probably the easiest dungeon but pugs already easily run this without using waypoints during combat. Maybe path 2 when it doesnt go well will bite. Story lovers will be interesting though they have been weakened and players will learn not to stand in the story mode kings easily avoidable aoe’s of death. Kholer may be skipped more Hehe. I gotta see this!
Idk… Anet stays pretty quiet for a long while then a bunch of stuff happens (pve). Take it as a good sign that not much is happening it might mean they are deep in thought.
This doesnt look like a small patch to me. This looks like alot of work and hours were put into this. Thanks Anet.
My guess is that Anet Didnt set out to give different classes different base hitpoints but it was a method of balancing the classes.
Grats on finding it on your own without, I assume, googling or youtubing it.
Thanks for that guys. Going off my own topic @ Flamingfoxx yes the reavers and such seem strange to me. Saw a bunch of sprites in a cave in a different zone all circled aroung a large flat rock (Alter?) with a dead brood mother on it. Then when you kill all the sprites and perhaps? some associated totems as well a fleshreaver appears and you fight him. Not sure what that was all about.
Saw a de where a set of Jotun stones, the kind that are a matching set appearing to have been split down the middle, had the symbols that are carved on them glowing. In the space between the two matching stones was a portal from which sprites were emerging. So perhaps Jotun magic still functions? Any comments?
Sorry for lack of details. This was in the zone directly south of the Norn city inside a Skritt cave. You have to gather pink crystals and a human npc shuts the portal down while you defend againts a final wave of sprites and one vet sprite which dropped two dwarven keys btw.
I cannot help it……. Op you can kiss my ding-a-lang-ding ding-a-ling-ding-dong.
Joking. Maybe ignoring a player could also ignore any sounds they create. You Wont have me griefing you. Before I play with my bells I travel to the farthest highest peak and survey the horizon for any signs of sentient life. Even after all that someone pops out of nowhere and says “you suck!”
I wonder if existing named exotics will be used as precursors or if new ones will be introduced.

GW2 just recently started overheating my cpu?

I put together my first pc the fall of 2012. Turns out it has a very low tolerance for dust. I need to clean out the cpu cooling fins once a month and after I do gw2 works great again. Not like my old pc which could be caked with dust and keep going.
Probably common knowledge but at least some of my disconnects are caused by our microwave oven while I am using wifi. Finally figured it out last year playing wow when I would reheat a cup of coffee in our microwave and I would return to find myself dc’d. This issue popped up again on the past weekend after we had installed a new microwave oven. Hadnt given it a thought at the time but we installed just on the other side of our living room slash kitchen wall. My pc which is located in the living room is now 2 feet from my microwave oven so when someone was making a bag of popcorn gw2 started to lag for a few seconds then finally disconnected all together. Last year I would play wow on my laptop at the kitchen table so was about 10 feet away from the microwave oven in those disconnects. If you live in a dorm could it be possible that someone has a microwave on the other side of the wall?
Hope that helps someone.
On a side note and totally separate issue my laptop was shutting down randomly last year while wowing as well. Finally youtubed how to take it apart and sure enough it was stuffed with dust and lint. Cleaned it out and it been working great ever since. It plays gw2 great on medium settings as well.
I’d forgotten all about it till you mentioned it. 1yes 2no 3 yes
I don’t want to complain about players choosing to cheese as it is their game too. But I don’t even want to do a dungeon anymore because it seems to be all cheese or legendary grinders on their 100 th run of the same path that day. Just not fun anymore. Story modes are still fun though especially when just staying in the back and seeing how the others choose to do it. That is what makes it fun for me anyways.
Just started a necro today and yes one second… My warrior had a three or four second fear I forget and my thief had a nice long steal skill fear. But won’t the necro fear still be useful as an interupt? I will see.
Strike Squad bugged for you. Fix by pulling moas to them and the moas will agro them with their scream. Happy that they killed something at that spot on their route Strike Squad will now continue. There is a spot on their route where it is easy to kill the enemy npcs before they have a chance to interact with Strike Squad and this causes them to stand there forever till they kill something. But yes game is buggy.
I did see the Swamp Behemoth twice tonight and I’ve never seen that before. So maybe they are fixing stuff.
It takes some practice and there is some stuff that I can rarely dodge. AC story the first room gatekeeper I can rarely dodge his stomp. CE story when Kudo leaves his suit and uses his pistol that does 28,000 damage per shot I find that very hard to dodge. Was playing voice with someone on their first run againts Kholer so when it was time to dodge I’d say “dodge” and that made it alot easier for him.
I remember healing AV in wow using healbot (which wasnt a bot actually) and not even looking at the actual game play. Blah. Gross. But I did like bartender which allowed the rearranging of skills which was usefull if you were a clicker. I like the fewer skills in gw2 which has made it alot easier to get into hotkeys so I dont see how addons would make this game better. If other players are using macros and addons it forces everyine else to do the same to remain competitive.
To answere your question: Player.
Comments: Two rl people I know who play(ed) the game. First likes it, played gw1, got me into it and is perfectly happy playing it one maybe two hours per week never reaching what ever end game is. The other no longer plays having returned to wow. He has tried a bunch of mmo’s conan ect and said that of them all gw2 was actually good and fun. However he prefered wow and having all reps to max was heavily invested into it. So I wonder how many players are happy with their one hour per week? That one would never read or touch the forums with a ten foot pole btw.
In case anyone missed it. I completed this dungeon with an 8 and a 10 year old. It was their first time in this dungeon. They completed it on their first try with myself as their guide. They Didnt break down in tears and write a post out in bold and caps. They want to do it again because thwy think it was fun. That is all.
As to you being muted while messaging Lfg Arah story in map what you need to do it vary the way you write it each time. I just now typed eight random messages into map chat about two seconds apart and was not suppressed. Im guessing if I typed “I love you Gw2” into map over and over that I would get muted. Lfg in the Arah zone and in La. Do this by logging into different characters that you already have in each place that you want to Lfg in to avoid waypoint costs. What I do is wrap my pc in tinfoil so as to shield it from the dangerous gw2lfg.com rays. Joke. Wont it be funny if you have the last laugh and the Lfg site is used in some evil manner? Good luck. Oh and and add me Ill join your group if we are on at same time.
80’s have the luxery of not having their Lvl 80 gear weirdly downscaled. I mean your gear that is ten or even five levels lower than you starts to make you weaker than you could be inside the dungeon. Ive felt noticeably weaker when my gear is five levels below me. In gear that matches my level stuff is getting smashed in ac but five levels later I am really noticing the difference.
To make your life easier before doing the dungeon get all current gear blue or green it doesnt matter. Armor weapon jewelry all of it. Get gear with vitality power and toughness. If one of those stats is missing from your gear use your upgrade slots to put it in. Dont bother with precision and all that junk as you just want to live at this point. Mess with precision ect later when you are not getting face planted in vit/power/toughness gear. Now that you are geared for your first run enter the first room of ac story. In this room are two glowing spheres on the floor and going up to them will activate the ghost. The nearest one is a warrior approach it and learn how to fight a warrior. The next is a mesmer so now learn how to fight a single mesmer. Both Dont have any or much range so are easily kited. Now open caskets one at a time getting a sampling of the mobs found in the dungeon in the process. Eventually your first boss comes out yay! Use the call target and assist function. Call a target with control t and assist on the called target by pressing t. No point in having a bunch of ghosts running around with half health. Concentrate the parties damage one a single ghost at a time. Use line of sight pulls to make a group of ghosts run to you and cluster up so any aoe will hit them all. Kill order imo is necro/Ele/ranger/monk/mesmer/warrior so control t call target on them in that order. Rez each other. If you are totally dead run back from the waypoint Dont make someone Rez you back from full death it takes forever. If a ghost is near death and you are downed throw stuff at it till it is dead because when it dies you will rally back to life. Do the boss Kasha before the lovers because her waypoint is the closest to the lovers which cuts your travel time in half compared to the next closest waypoint. You are not damaging the lovers at all while running back from a way point so if your party is getting killed may as well use the closest waypoint. I Dont think you really even need to keep them seperated just have everyone range on Reanna till she is dead. Otherwise have two people throw boulders at Vassar and the rest dps on Reanna. Boulders and some player skills have a push back effect so direct them such that it moves the lovers apart. The lovers are not doing damage while being knocked down by boulders by the way. Stop and kill the pesky illusions they will chew you down. But best thing I can say is do like I said with the gear and to use the first room as your practice room. That is where I learned how to kite a melee mob on my thief with pistol/dagger. Cant touch me!
I did this story dungeon with my 35 warrior, an 8 year old Lvl 30 ranger, a 10 year old Lvl 35 thief and two under 80 pugs. Myself and one of the pugs knew the dungeon. We did not wipe on the lovers but did make use of Kasha’s waypoint.
Ha my first time ac explore none of us knew how to do it. We killed the spider in the stairway with all the flame throwers burning us. Died so many times it was the worst ac run Ive ever seen. Hope that helps someone. But if you just wanted to complain then ya the dungeons feel like being punched in the face and kicked in the kittens at the same time but are still fun so give them a chance.
Rewards from killing mobs along the way to the end of the dungeon must be such that the result is more reward per minute by not skipping as opposed to skipping. Anet shouldnt waste their time trying to outsmart a million players. Can AC path 1 boss also be ranged from the underwater exit of the unfinished jumping puzzle there? Idk. So they allow the boss to run up the stairs to the safe spot or something like that and one of the million players just figures something else out. Now the boss has to do the jumping puzzle? Not saying that would work I have no idea.
Im guilty a bit of this myself. But stop attacking speedrunners they do not deserve it. Ive never seen a post that complains of parties that do not skip and take their time. (it could be cause there is not any Haha but thats not my point). The speedrunners create their own groups and state up front what their intent is. It states right in their gw2Lfg post that its a speed run and to please not suck or you will be kicked. Ive never gotten a rude comment of any kind if I make an under 80 not skipping group.
The point is, if you managed to get anything from the above, is that the speedrunners respect other players right to make whatever kind of party they want. So they deserve the same in return. Sometimes I enjoy a good speedrun and especially if it is three back to back.
Just ran my warrior down to the temple in Orr that I see open most often last night. Kind of funny to look at her map its just a zig zag line of unfogged map all the way from sorrows embrace to the south east edge of Orr. Also did that on a thief. Thief and warrior both not too hard to run around Orr with, Dont know about the other classes in Orr. Was suprised to see lots of the Lvl 80 green and blue karma vendors open and some people had obviously opened a temple which was lost again by the time I made it there. Gotta love those drops and jugs of liquid karma. Something like 34 jugs and 200 drops and good to go. Hopefully I will be on when some are opening a temple again it would be fun to take part.
Maybe you were whining too much. Or not idk. But many things became clear to me the day I let my 10 and 8 year olds play star craft. I recognized many things Id seen in mmo chat come out of their mouths in very short order. Ah… it all made sense after that. Dont worry about it and move on.
Spawn of Chucky
Haha. Ok so its a little easy! Healing signet is kicking butt thanks for that. Replies appreciated.
Many people could be out leveling alts ect and are not seeing your group requests. That doesnt doesnt answere your point on the lack of interest of those who are hanging out in la true. Try gw2lfg.com. .. actually I dont know if that has a catagory for holiday events or not. Anyway have some hope I believe I have seen Anet response stating lfg tool is in the works. I would expect or hope at least that it will be at least as effective as the player made gw2lfg website.
I think that you have a point with them not working as obviously as hearts. But the holiday event is not manditory right? I chose to grinch out and have done almost none of it yet still had fun doing what I normally do. Perhaps because the skins do not appeal to me. Ya I think I took a look at the holiday vendor and didnt see anything of interest. The presents paid well on the tp imo. I did like the halloween event though.
At your level you can do AC. AC is a level 30 story mode and level 35 explore mode dungeon. This dungeon is located in the Char (cat people) starting area. This can easily be accessed by first entering the Heart of the Mist pvp zone via your pvp button top of your screen. Then when there do the quick pvp tutorial and exit the Heart of the Mists via the Lions Arch portal. You will now be in the central hub city of Lions Arch and then proceed to the cluster of portals which access each of the races cities. Use the portal with the Char guards and you will find yourself in the Char city next to the Char starting area. Explore your way to the AC waypoint which is about 3/4 of the way into the zone.
Also when you turned level 30 you recieved an ingame mail showing the location and inviting you to go there but prob deleted it without reading like myself.
Ask for story mode groups in the local zone map chat and in Lions Arch map chat. Another usefull tool is gw2lfg.com. Check under AC story mode for groups looking for more or start your own. Add a characters name who posted on gw2lfg.com to your friends list, whisper him and ask to join. Note that your party can be comprised of players from different servers and that this is not a problem. Once everyone is inside the dungeon you will all be visible to one another. Also as long as you are in the same zone as the dungeon when the first person enters it you will be given the option to teleport into the dungeon from where ever you are. If you are the first person into the dungeon and you quit all will be booted from the dungeon. So dont enter first unless you are intend on finishing it. Enjoy
They dont care about your esport fantasies. They want to have fun they are trying to tell how they want to have fun. They want a burger with pickles and you keep telling them you dont do that. Guess what they gonna find some place that will give them kitten pickles like they want. Just my opinion. Im just some guy who wants some pickles what the heck do I know?
Ive done maybe 6 fractals. First 80 character has about 55% map completion and the second 80 character has about 25% map completion. So in my case fractals has nothing to do with it.
I suggest that giving them the lowest base health combined with light armor. That should help. Or rather just buff the other classes so that they are not so outclassed by the Ele. That should also help.
I guess a wheel does have a lot in common with a treadmill if I think about it. Nah its their game and if they believed things needed to be changed then who am I to judge. But I do hold up my two examples of New Coke and D3. And I cant really use D3 as an example because its servers are still up so it must be making a profit. Dont take me serious I didnt even play gw1
best regards
Diablo III is a total piece of bullkitten and I dont see how it can be held up beside GW2. I tried to be a glass half full guy in d3 but like Im being here but the difference was as soon as trying d3 my first thought was WTK??? what a total piece of dog poo this is!!!!! While first impression of GW2 was “I’m liking this” and still do to this day. But both games messed with the original recipe which is a risk. A totally unnecessary risk. Why do they think they have to reinvent the wheel? Why!!? Just make it even better dont totally remake it. Remember New Coke? Anyway I define dying as Anet shutting the servers off because they are losing money. If its still making money its a success in my books. If you define dying as losing players then ya you are probably right.
Sweet we just survived that near wipe no thanks to you Bonus Troll Event. Now I will just continue rezzing myself with this handy #4 button. WTK (what the kitten)!!? I exclaim as Im now to my surprise riding the lightening into three AC rangers. Now we did wipe. Wups.
First I wrote a bunch of kitten. To the point I dont think that many people would not be bored of gw2 after putting in the number of hours per day that you have. Im bored after two 80s let alone your three fully geared. You and I need to stop playing this game wrong. It is meant to be played once or twice a week at most not for hours every single night. IMO. But I always fail at this the evidence would indicate….
As to the game dying Im guessing many people are going to recieve gw2 as a gift soon. Im thinking the 25th or something like that. Ya I’ve a hunch.
