On this holiday, I’d like to give some thanks to A-net and the community. You’ve created a wonderful game. I’ve enjoyed myself for four years and counting. Thank you all for giving me a place to call mmo home. Happy Thanksgiving!

Any way to convert my ascended armor to vipers stats if I don’t do any crafting? I’ve always hated crafting in mmos. Right now I’m using rampagers armor stats but I’d like to have more condition damage and duration. Any help would be appreciated.

I use scepter/warhorn in pvp. I also run a condi build. Fire and earth for conditions and air for cc and water for heals. I might be people not expecting a condi ele or the level of competition I’m facing but I’ve had great success with it.

Well my advice would be scrap this build unless you’re just going for open world content. In any group instanced content it is not good. You say support but you have no armor with stats to offer much support. Valkyrie armor is not a good choice to do damage and that’s what people want a staff ele for. You build has a lot of choices that are not needed in PvE. I’d suggest taking a peek at metabattle and getting a base build and tweak it to your liking. But if you enjoy it and you’re having fun that’s all that matters. I wouldn’t expect a lot of people here telling you anything good about your build though.

Edit: If this is just a leveling build it doesn’t matter anyway. Enjoy getting to 80!

Not to start a debate but are you really comparing all PvE challenges to open world event farming? That is supposed to be easy! There is much harder PvE content in game.

Take off all gear and only use melee.

Yeah dude! Druid rekindled my love for GW2. It’s pretty much the only class I play in all aspects of the game anymore. Now if I could only find a training raid guild to get my feet wet in that content.

Hello, this will be my third attempt I think to find a guild via the forums. I’ve been in a few but they weren’t as advertised. I’m looking for an active semi casual guild. I enjoy pve mainly with a bit of spvp. I love fractals and I really like to get into some raid training. I play later night est around 10:30pm. It really depends on which weapons you enjoy most. If you like using LB then you can go the Magi/zerker route. If you’re looking to do vipers might I suggest mainly using a/t with a little swap of SB. The meta condition build of the Druid is higher dps and the same buffs. So it all depends on what weapons you enjoy more.

Hello, I was wonder what nights and times you raid. I have a few lvl 80 classes with elite specs unlocked but would probably be on my Druid since he is almost full ascended now and my fav class to play. Let me know. Thanks.

They just made a change to scaling toughness in high lvl fractals which is suppose to bring power builds up to par with condi. I personally run condi Druid with empower, frost and burn spirit. You’re not really there for your dps but your buffs so not sure how much it really matters. I find I do decent dps with condi though.

I use condi Druid in sPvP and pve. I do great with it. There are some builds on metabattle.com that willl give you a good starting template and just make whatever tweaks you want to fit your play style. I personally love the axe/torch short bow combo. With the CD reduction trait you can put down some serious conditions. Druid is mainly used for the massive condi clear and team support while on points. Good luck.

All classes are good if the player is good. Can’t really go wrong with me to. They’re in a good spot at this point in the game. If you’re looking for something different I’m personally loving Druid atm. Good for soloing good for group/raid buff/suppprt. You could also try the new class revenant.

What is this hunter class? Did they add a new profession since I played last night?
In all seriousness though in pve with elite spec I’d say Druid, Gaurdian, Ele, thief. With no elite spec that might change a bit.

I was super excited when HoT was released. Then once I started playing it I absolutely hated it. I had no idea where to go or how to get there. I was dying a lot and not being able to complete events because no one was doing them it seemed. So I quit!

I just came back about three weeks ago after about an eight month break. I decided I was going to at least finish the story on one character just to give it a chance. I’m absolutely in love with the game again. The maps are well designed, the story is well done, and I enjoy the elite specs.

I think it was just the drastic change in navigation and difficulty in open world content that was off putting to me. I adapted and now really enjoy HoT. I still enjoy core ge2 as well but HoT just added more to do.

It might not be for everyone but from what I’ve seen the new map is made in the style of HoT maps and Bloodstone Fen. So if you really don’t like those I’m guessing you won’t like the new one either. Imo give it a solid run through. Finish the personal story and unlock one full elite spec and see if you still feel the same way. It did wonders for me and brought me back to what I think is hands down the best mmo on the market today.

I don’t think they’re hard to play personally. I might recommend leveling up you Mesmer not getting and instant 80. By the time you level to 80 finish unlocking chrono you should have a firm grip on the class. It’s not super easy to find raid groups unless you don’t mind pugs.

Hello, I’m searching for an active guild but not one where you’re a number. My usual play times are around 9 CST. I love running dungeons and fractals and dabble a bit in sPvP. Personally I like both style of maps. Map diversity is a good thing. I HATED HoT maps when I started the xpac. Enough to make me leave the game for around 8 months. But I’ve come back and a learned most of the maps and how they work and I enjoy them. Once you have the appropriate mastery for navigation it makes them much less frustrating.

I’ve been back for about three weeks now. I’ve unlocked full elite specs on three characters and finished the HoT story and living story 3 on one so far. It’s still the same game you left. You can do what you enjoy be it pve, pvp, WvW. If you plan on raiding you can start working on ascended armor etc …. Welcome back.

Hello. I’m looking to get into raiding. I have a reaper, Druid, and Tempest. My Druid is a power/healer but I do have gear to make him condition as well. My Reaper is condi and my Tempest is power. I have all ascended jewelry trinkets and backpacks on all three. I do have one ascended staff that I can use on my Druid or Tempest and it is power based but not zerk. I’m not sure if this is good enough to get me in but figured I’d drop a line anyway.

So I just unlocked my full Druid elite spec and I’d like to get some opinions. Right now I have him set as a condi Druid using A/T and SB. Is there a vast difference in performance going power over condi? I’m looking for a good pve/fractal/raid build (if I can ever get into a raid ). So any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I took a long break myself. I’ve recently came back and I’m having a blast. It will take time getting used to the HoT maps so don’t get frustrated. They are much more difficult to traverse then core world maps. Once you get used to it though they are awesome in my opinion. I’ve been back two weeks and have finished the story on one character and LS3 and unlocked full elite specs on three characters. I’d say it’s totally worth it.

2. Dungeons not for story mode but decent gear and knowledge needed for paths. Raiding I have read most people wanting full ascended gear. I have not raided yet and I’m still needing a few pieces of ascended armor. I’m not sure if this is actually true though.
3. Personally I’d start from scratch and find a class that I like and get to see the content. In sPvP you can boost any character to basically lvl 80 with all skills unlocked so you can go that route if you want to skip ahead.

As far as tips I’d say take it slow. Enjoy the world, explore, meet new friends, learn your class, do your personal story etc … Welcome back, hope you enjoy.

Yeah me either. I’m looking to raid as well. I’m just saying for those people who don’t want to or think they can’t handle them it could be a nice alternative.

I’m pretty sure fractals are going to be the only instanced 5 man content going forward. I enjoy them though I did like the old structure and reward system when you had to do three then a boss fight. I wish they would of left that the same just scaled the gold reward up a tad for time invested.

I agree with you on the daily dungeon part. I would add it to be story mode or any given path though of that dungeon. They all these great dungeons and no reason to do that content except for the hell of it. I still look in the GF to see if anyone is doing them everyday just because I find them fun.

I have yet to raid so I’m not sure if there is a story tied to them but Rift used a system where you could basically do the raid but in a solo or small group setting. I found it to be a great idea and even though I did raid in Rift I still found them fun to do and a nice little activity to kill some time.

I personally think GW2 has a lot of things to do end game between WvW, sPvP, events, world bosses, dungeons, fractals, raids, crafting but adding more can never hurt imo.

Just came back after a break and finished the HoT story. I found it to be very well done with a nice ending. Going to start LS3 tonight!

Anything can work but it won’t be optimal. I’m just getting back into the game after leaving right before hot. The HoT specs are just better then pre HoT. They add defense and damage. So while you can have success and fun without owning HoT I wouldn’t be upset if you have a tough time in pvp.

So I just got back into the game and my love for condition builds has me searching. I’ve played a necro since day one and am looking for something new and exciting. I really want to make my Mesmer condition. I know that they’re sub optimal as condition spec so I’m here to see if anyone has a condition build with or without chrono. I looked on metabattle and found nothing but I know it’s outdated. Thanks for any replies.

Hello, I’m returning to the game after a long break. I have HoT and all my characters are on the TC server. I don’t really do wvw so server doesn’t matter much to me. I wouldn’t mind getting into it if there is a TV server recruiting though. I have a lvl 80 necro, thief, ele, ranger, and Mesmer. I’m looking for something active! I would like to raid as well. I don’t care if it’s casual raiding. I just want to give it a go in gw2. We can sit in there dying all night for all I care. I’m not a hardcore guy I just like to try all content. Thanks for the replies. I was thinking of going ranger but I have zero interest in being a Druid. I guess base classes are no good anymore huh? I’ll look into the conditionmancer. I used to have a condi necro way back in the day but he is full zerk now. So condi ranger is no good in a raid setting?

Hello, I’ve decided after a trek through some other mmos to make my return to gw2. I’ve been gone since before HoT released. My question is, I have an 80 mes, necro, ranger, ele, and thief. What class would be best to get back into the game and someday raid with. I was thinking of going full condi since I read about the changes to condition caps.

So no one runs the dungeon story mode or paths anymore? How come? Those and fractals were my favorite thing to do. So what do people do these days to fill there play time. Just map events, wvw, spvp?

I’ve read a lot of bad things about the xpac but I’d like to return after a 6 month break. I have 6 lvl 80s but was thinking of starting from scratch. Maybe an engi! How are they these days? Is the xpac really that bad over all? How are the dungeon/fractal ques? How hard is it to get a raid spot? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

So when you say anything that gives xp to a lvl 80 I get confused. Because before lvl 80 everything haves xp because it scaled. So if that is the case all things should continue to give xp after lvl 80.

I happen to have two lvl 50s on Wildstar. One exile one Dom but I can’t find a guild that raids at my play times

Hello all, merry xmas! I left after not enjoying the new xpac. The maps seemed mostly empty and a lot of group mobs running around and not being able to complete the events or know where to go to solo. Basically wondering if it’s been changed at all. Any tips or advice for a want to be returning player?

I had a guard who died many times last night in a pug fractal tell me he thought necros were useless in fractals. I said only people who don’t know how to play their class are useless. He clearly didn’t. I left it at that and he didn’t say another word. I get really tired of the necro hate and I understand what we do and do not bring to the table. I enjoy the class and I play games for fun. I just hope I can find a team/guild who will let me raid with my “useless” necro.

I played Druid in beta and didn’t really care for it. So just wondering if anyone played beta and kept base ranger and rocked a power or condi build with any success and were we could fit into raids just being a ranger.
