Mark of Evasion is the first minor trait in the Blood Magic line which leaves a Mark of Blood when you dodge. The thing is, many times as I’m running through mobs I dodge in order to escape their attack to keep going free of combat and not slowing down, but this trait works even out of combat which makes it impossible to do so.
What are your thoughts?
Has the sword really become useless for guardian over mace in PvE?
I really enjoy playing GS/Sw+F so I’m very reluctant in changing to the slow mace, that being said, I’m clearly biased so I’m asking for your opinions. To make up for what I lose from mace’s symbol, I’m also using the Radiance’s line Retribution (10% more damage under Retaliation) instead of Radiant Fire. The reason I chose to do this is because I don’t see any advantage in burning damage even with the modifiers if I’m running 0 condition damage and I do get my share of retal from GS symbol and virtues (can get more uptime if I use Save Yourselves, which I don’t at the moment).
So what is your opinion guys?Currently using Radiance, Zeal and Virtues.
Don’t think of Radiant fire in terms of Burning Damage. I was thinking at first. You will need to Swap that focus for a torch, running GS/Mace Torch. Radiant fire will allow you to toss number 4 on your torch more, and torch 4 always did hit hard. Even more so now.
See Obal’s guild for a DPS comparison. I like the idea of sword, but only its auto attack and blind was ever very useful. I never used Zealots Defense outside of PvP
OK, thanks for clearing that out.
Thank you. I’ve read Obal’s guide, that’s where the Radiant Fire doubt came from.

I just noticed that in racial cities, the Scientific skins cost 3 Black Lion tickets, while the specialist inside the Vaults in new L.A. sells them for 1 ticket.
Same is happening to me with Imperial Red.
The Calcite one is pretty normal, white and gold and I find it very beautiful. But unless you have an unopenend ascended bag or don’t mind crafting just for the skin, it’s a pain.
I have a white and gold Charr lion who carries the rifle version of that pistol.
Sylvari are probably asexual so I think that their love would be more a thing of affection and emotion. Even so, other races could get creative with them, I just don’t think that it would be a thing for the sylvari.
I think only CoF light armor makes it glow, but not sure.
Balthazar outfit also has a fiery glowy tail. Zodiac armor has a sky glowy tail.
SE path 1 and 3 are pretty quick and dull.
How could I forget Spire:
“Stand back. Watch me push a button.”
There WILL be new armour skins in HoT.
Indeed, but until “it’s ready” we are only getting outfits.
Outfits were only released on April 2014, and since then most of the new skins are outfits. We need more armor.
Id rather hold onto karma in case hot expansion opens up any possibilities
This logic, coupled with the number of players that refuse to spend karma, is why there won’t be any big karma purchases in the expansion.
The whole currency is stagnant, and that’s why, instead of using the existing currency that was intended for such rewards, we keep getting zone-specific token items in new zones.
Karma isn’t hard to get, right? Spend it already so that it can be useful again?
It’s not always a case of refusing to use. I have 4M something Karma simply because there is nothing to spend it on. If at least we could salvage temple gear, I wouldn’t mind using it on my characters. But you can’t, so no point on getting it if you are using expensive runes.
For example, armor sets are now exclusively designed as in-game rewards while outfits are primarily Gem Store offerings.
I’m ok with this. I hate outfits, and sticking them in the gem store where I don’t have to deal with them is great.
Problem is, no new content = no new armor. Like what’s been happening for months now. All we get are new outfits and no new armor…
Wolfborn out of nowhere in the Might and Main:
“You, listen to what I have to say. This will not do!
Bah, I’m done with this.”

About the second question, it’s account wide.
Then again, people can buy the AP for lumi set too.
You are fogetting chest, boots and leggings.
Hahaha nice video.
More that players as a whole should stop being so caught up with gear when it’s tactics and good use of utility/support skills that makes runs go smooth and quick. If people focused on utilizing those to their fullest instead we’d probably have faster PUG runs too
If that’s the point you were trying to make, I totally agree with you. I just don’t think that your experience (video) proves that point, for the reason I mentioned before.
I hadn’t pugged in quite a long time but since now we get no new content, most of my guildies are bored with the game (including me) so I’ve been pugging a lot lately. I always list my group as “friendly group” or “all welcome” and still most of the times the things melt and even when they don’t, I get really smooth runs. It’s fun.
I’m close to 15k AP now and have been running dungeons with guildies since maybe 2k, so I never had problems with LFG, however looking at the listings there I can see how hard it can be for anyone under 5k AP or not running Zerker to join a group.
The thing is, there is no objective measure for in game skill if you have never seen a person play, so when going for a rushed run people resort to the next best thing which is AP, because people assume there is a correlation between time played and skill gained – and I don’t think it is a ludicrous assumption, and Zerker gear because it provides the most damage, so even if the player doesn’t know what he is doing, at least he can contribute with some damage – then again, because you can’t know the player if you never played with him.
That being told, I can also understand why some people prefer having those requirements on their parties.
What I still don’t get is why is it that everyone can use the LFG tool and list their parties (even if alone) and all I see are 5K AP Zerk parties and people complain for lack of other groups. Why not just set up your group? I don’t know if I’m just lucky, but I’ve been having fun times and smooth runs even with people who never did the dungeon or are below 1k AP.
There must be a reason for that. My guess is that it has become somewhat of a standard (and I say that because I’ve been in a party with a 2k AP who didn’t know TA Up and still he listed the group has “metazerk only”) or people who don’t know the dungeons very well are too self-conscious about it to start a group.
Same problem since yesterday.
So basically…
Ironman vs. The Hulk: who would win?
But everyone knows that The Hulk would win?
Glad you mentioned The Avengers. About the humans having an organised army while the norn haven’t.
In the new film, Ultron is a highly organised system and expects to win against the chaotic Avengers (as he puts it). He loses. However, this is merely fiction. My bet is still whichever army (formal or informal: because the norn CAN work together) uses their qualities better (being those more planned or improvised).
All that was mentioned above, plus, you can also learn event rotations on the daily events map and grind your way on that same map. I’d still prefer EOTM.
I don’t care much for uw sigils, so I usually go Force + Accuracy. I choose Accuracy to make up for the loss of Precision because Tequatl aquabreathers are only availble with Soldier stats.
The point being 4 people can do a speedrun?
The bouncing login reward chest only shows on the first character you log in that day. If you don’t collect it and change characters, you can return to that one later and collect it. Since you deleted yours, it’s probably a gonner. Sorry about that.
They are all very beautiful, I especially like Spirit Of The Bear.
I keep seeing these “zerg” dungeon parties. Not sure if Zerg builds are the most appropriate for PvE.
inb4: zerk
What he’s showing is that the tactics and clever use of game mechanics matter more than just slapping berserker gear on :/
Meta gameplay also requires clever use of game mechanics. If you just slap berserker gear and nevermind the rest, you’ll be a floor mop (unless playing Warrior).
Actually the first reply to this thread should have been enough. Norn do NOT have armies. That drove a certain dwarf to desperation when he tried to understand how it works.
But the point is that they wont need an army. These people are the kind that can pull a freaking tooth out of an Elder dragon. Keep in mind the Norn allies as well, the spirits of the wild. Not to mention their ability to become animals. I would be impressed if a human army even survived a single night in Norn lands if the Norn didnt want them there…
I was actually agreeing with the human argument, but you make a good point here. I guess it would be planning on the human side VS improvisation on the norn. Whichever army, formal or informal, could use their qualities better would win.
Check the wardrobe feature in the bank. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Wardrobe
Nope, it’s undyable.
Hmm still thinking. Ranger without a pet is not a class right ><?
No, that’s a future specialisation for guardian.
250%+ here, I don’t notice a thing.
Male ascended leg armor has that typical diamond pattern:

You can also check the human cultural T2 armor, especially the shoulder skin:

By the way, really liked your choice of dyes.
That’s very nice.
I have some big eyed characters aswell.
Elementalists’ conjured weapons have in-game skins but you get an icon showing that it is a conjured. Same thing could solve that problem. But we will get a real weapon like every other class, most likely.
Instabought it.
People get mad at their own commander if he defends. People get mad if enemy team defends. People get mad and leave if a WvW guild is roaming about.
People only like EOTM if they can farm karma.
Personally I go there to have fun with no queues and I really like when there’s actually some fighting going on.
They could make it less rewarding.
If you are a PvE player, it doesn’t matter which server you are on since we have a mega server now. Your home server will only affect WvW. The most populated servers are probably Seafarer’s Rest, Desolation and language specific Kodash and Jade Sea.
If you want to choose based on WvW performance, you can check this link http://mos.millenium.org/eu/matchups/
Green creates new maps as they are so many, and the more instances it create, the thinner is the pop of blue and red per map as the are distributed over all of them to provide green with some easy to farm activity.
This is true. Yesterday I entered a match with 1h left and the entire map was white. I proceeded to solo the Observatory, then got a group of 4 people and got lands, reactors and 2 towers. This was a long process, however red and blue did not conquer a single objective in the meantime nor more green players came.
I am on SFR and we are green this week.
PS: the high number the OP mentions is most likely a figure of speech.
I personally didn’t care about it. I was not going to grind my kitten off so I could be able to test for ANet. Then again, I got the previous BETA and had my share.
To me this feels like they are squeezing all the juice they can from the hype to cover the real lack of content while we wait for the expansion.
Craft should be the fastest way, but it costs alot of coin. You can take any class and level fast too in Edge Of The Mists (just follow commander). Any of the 3 classes you mentioned should be good enough for all game types (ranger can be harder to understand on PvE, especially dungeons, but still viable). However you might need different builds for that, for example Warrior if you are doing PvE: a full zerk warrior is the most effective, on PvP it seems to be the shoutbow or hambow builds the most effective.
Blazeridge Steppes and other ascalonian maps have that black area where the corruption is. No matter the weather, if you got there you get blackness.
Kudzu
/15char
I have 14 characters. Duplicates are Guardian (3), Ranger (2), Elementalist (2), Mesmer (2) and Warrior (2). Mostly because I am bored with the game.
OP mentioned the cleansing power of silver bullets. :P
Never thought of that because I was too caught up on the healbow. But those light blasts you talk about, I want them now. xD Especially since I already got Calcite rifle skin. <3
