Events were designed to be completed. They were not designed to be intentionally left to fail so that players can farm for a longer duration, that is called exploiting.
You have nothing to worry about. Toxic farmers were raging at you because you threatened to ruin their gold per hour. Complete all the events you please but be prepared to receive backlash from angry gold farmers.
This is like all the other topic. I want to play whatever way I want.
But I dont’ want other people to play the way they want.
This guy understands.
It’s casual elitism in its greatest form.
I love how a fractal thread in GD got 2 replies. Oh dungeon sub-forum, why do you still exist.
Just from a DPS point of view, or in general? You’re probably right, people usually won’t notice if their kill is 5-10 seconds slower (in a pug).
Though, at this point I don’t see what you’re arguing for. Players who are performing so perfectly that they never allow for a situation that would show them taking less damage than they should be, are most definitely the anecdotal exception. I feel like you’re kind of just playing devils advocate to get the usual bait biters to argue with you.

Why do you people feel the need to make a thread like this every week? What do you actually accomplish other than confirming among yourselves that ‘yay we wear zerker we are pro’.
This thread is the worst thing since atse
This thing is ruining the game economy and inflation is eating at the TP. I applaud all the groups that are working hard at actually completing the event and shutting that dumb thing down. You couldn’t possibly afford anything by playing the game normally if you let these armies of zombies who ask for nothing but a spot where they can mindlessly spend their time pressing 11111 inject new gold into the system by such amounts.
That feel when threatened to be kicked from guild for completing it
If the people who frequent this forum are half as good as they pretend to be; then they should just enter a PUG with the intention to solo everything. If you expect the run to be bad, then you can’t really be upset when that ultimately becomes the reality. You can however, be pleasantly surprised if the run ends up being good. People enter PUG’s with these expectations that they’re going to be participating in a DnT/rT standard dungeon run, and then for some bizarre reason get really surprised and upset when they don’t get that. I enjoy PUG runs a lot, because I don’t hold players that aren’t in my guild/on my friends list to the same standard(s).
TL;DR People should lower their expectations and work on their own play, they’ll enjoy PUG’ing a lot more.
And in the end, that is what keeping you alive. Not being able to take one hit extra.
Now if a proper PVT could take 5+ hits, then it would get interesting. But one extra hit do not really improve the margin for error much.
Tanky guardian can facetank full duration fo necrid trap and still be alive, that’s kittens. Glass guardian goes down on the 2nd hit.
At the start of the game, I had a full clerics guardian. Used to kite lupicus around the room with my scepter/shield, could take about 5 bubbles before I finally died. Was amazing.
These days…. one bubble with no stability/renewed focus and it’s RIP in peace
Anyway, since we’re on the train of making terrible suggestions:
I propose that the more toughness/vitality/healing power you have, the less endurance regen you have, as to balance out your innate ability to facetank things.
Power/precision/crit damage will all give you extra endurance regen, as to balance out your inability to facetank things.
Sounds good.

ANet needs to buff bad players, not nerf heal sig.
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing.

I think its rather telling that the most toxic posters in the this thread are Elrey and Nemesis.
Is there a thing such as “reverse” elitism, a sort of a race to the bottom to avoid being called “meta” or a net build?
See our point of view: For us the toxic players are the ones forcing everyone else to use their meta builds… or kick. Nevertheless, let’s not take it personal and let’s focus on the topic.
No one is forcing you to join their party, don’t be a drama queen.
Hello;
Lately; there has been a lot of drama around how this community is doing records, and how they should be performed/judged. I came up with a rule set that was adequate for a time, but as of late people have realized that we were too lenient in what we allowed, and now times are becoming rather noncompetitive or not fun to watch.
So I have this proposition: We will host two record categories. (The names are kind of arbitrary at this point, if someone has a title for a category, feel free to put it forward).
‘Full Run’ – All pathways that block progress through the path must be opened. No consumables allowed other than Nourishment/Food. No entering ‘out of bounds’.
This category will cater to the people who wish to show off their skill, as I believe it will weed out all of the ‘nasty’ exploits that exist in paths.
‘Any %’ – Complete the path. Any and all consumables are allowed.
Self-explanatory, mostly. Finish the path using whatever tactics/tricks you have available to you. Mostly for showing off some funny stuff or for people who don’t mind the use of whatever is available in the game.
We will change the timing rule. The timer will start once anyone in the party either activates an ability, or moves/turns within the dungeon. This means that when preparing to start; you will get your party to enter the dungeon, and no one press anything on their mouse/keyboard until you’re ready to start your run. This is just a suggested change; I still feel that our current timing method is fine and achieves what it was supposed to, but I have no qualms with changing it to this timing method.
If/when we implement these changes; the entire leaderboard will be wiped. All existing records will have to be redone to meet the new rules, if guilds wish to see their time on the board(s).
Basically, I need input from anyone who cares at all about having a competitive speed run scene. If people support this idea, I can have it up and running this weekend. Please feel free to put forward any suggestions you may have, or ask any questions.
Thanks.
@Mods, please don’t move this to linksville. This is relevant to the dungeons and the dungeon community alone. If you want to remove the external site advertising, then do that, rather than moving the thread.

I preferred the approach they took with GW1 dungeons. Stupid amounts of trash mobs everywhere, occasional ‘boss’. Killing big groups of trash is IMO more enjoyable than killing 2-3 not-so-challenging silvers. I love that one biggish trash mob in arah, as an example. Kind of wish it was bigger.
For me, the Empyreal Fragments are what I’ll finish much faster than any of the other materials (not bloodstone dust). Different methods of acquisition will appeal to different people. I hate open world bosses, I love dungeons. This won’t be the same for everyone. If you want the weapon(s), suck it up and do the required content.
For 50+ times at least if you have one character of each profession.
I’m aware of how stupid the ascended weapons are, and the grind/cost attached. I’m just avoiding actually getting them, instead of crying to a brick wall (see: ANet).
Nerfing critical damage is going to hurt the average player much more than the elite dungeoneers. Perhaps we’ll see even more demand for selling dungeon runs.
Huge mistake by Anet, but that’s just business as usual.
I think ANet uses one of those ‘Magic 8 balls’ to make their decisions.
“Should we nerf critical damage?” shakes magic 8 ball

People really shouldn’t be surprised to find trolls/forum warriors in these threads. T1/2 have arguably the most competitive WvW the game has to offer, and ego’s are going to be inflated. It’s a competitive format, there’s obviously going to be people who play it to win and win to brag, this shouldn’t be an unfamiliar concept to people who have played competitive games before.
Trash talk is apart of anything even slightly competitive, it’s going to happen. How you respond to it is your choice. You can ignore them, you can reply in equally ego-filled rants, or you can show them up in-game where the real fights happen.
At the end of the week the scoreboard is what shows how well your server did, not how well the forum posters represented your server. Bragging rights are earned when you defeat your opponents/rivals in-game, not by out-reasoning or arguing them on the forums.
What happens if we transmuted over our T3 light, with the gem store skin? Are you going to replace the T3 as well as the gems?
Why does this need discussing? Half of these points aren’t even an accurate. What’s done is done, the people who were involved in Tier 1 are over it, are you just trying to get people to slander WM?
I noticed you only have 3 “runners” so I guess you’re one of the types of groups similar to what was described in the OP. You get 2 other suckers to go with you and then right when the run is finished you kick them out to get someone to pay for a spot.
People like you should be banned.
We have three runners because we’re good enough to clear the paths with 3 people. Other than Path 1. We get another friend to help with that one.
Would you like to buy a run? I’ll add you to my list.
I always thought Bismuth was on the dumb side, he came out and proved it today.
Necros suck.
/thread.
But seriously, you’ll get by on any class if you just give it berserker gear and are able to play with it. If you really can’t play with berserker gear, go knights armor and zerk trinkets. If you can’t do that either, go full knights. If you can’t do that, pay someone to do dungeons for you. If you can’t do that, post here saying that you bet zerk elitists wipe 24/7 and only talk big on the forums, and hope that some of them take you on runs to prove you wrong.
(edited by The Mexican Cookie.3690)
Being serious though;
Do you have any proof that people running these dungeons are actually kicking people? Myself, my guild and some on my friends list do Arah runs every day on EU, and we do it either with a smaller party size (1-4), or we’ll drop from the party to sell our spots. Also, don’t encourage people to scam those who could be offering a legitimate service to others. It takes time to clear a dungeon, especially with few people. Threads like this where you promote scamming is exactly why we ask for payment before we kill the end boss.
Take precautions. Build a list of trusted buyers and advertise appropriately.
Vix/Brazil/Crigger and I sold easily a few hundred runs and hardly even used the LFG tool. If you want to provide a service known to be ‘high’ risk, then put in the effort to mitigate it.
ANet needs to buff bad players, not nerf heal sig.
And this right here is why nothing is ever agreed upon.
Something is OP or needs to be toned down
People complain and ask for it to be nerfed
People who want it to stay just say everyone who can’t beat it is just badGuess anytime something is in need of a buff or a nerf we should just leave it because you know, it was all probably just the player’s skill causing the problem. If that were true though, why would various warriors themselves be calling it over the top? Who cares, skill is all the matters and every class is perfectly balanced and requires the exact same amount of skill to play right?
Bad players don’t understand the cause of a balance issue, and just point fingers at whatever they can think of, in an attempt to justify their frustration. More often than not their ‘problem’ is not a genuine issue, and their solution is a bad one. This is one of those cases; players are frustrated and confused about warriors, so they cry and point fingers at healing signet, instead of looking at other factors (their own ability as a player, their own build, or they take the build out of context and use specific examples which aren’t a cause for balance change, such as 1v1’s in WvW).
Players cry, point fingers, and don’t think about things rationally. Their frustration leads to countless horribly nonsensical claims being tossed around, and then they wonder why ANet doesn’t listen to them.

I like Molch’s special snowflake build
Thief traited for +50% damage while downed. Just make sure people don’t res you!
People need to stop playing professional victims and just move on.
“Oh no he chose his words poorly I have to argue with him until he says sorry”
Nels they’re asking for convenience, nothing more. You cannot say it is pointless or would cause the class to be over-powered, it is limited to out of combat. You’re arguing invalid points just to flex your ego. They should not have to buy particular items to compensate for a lack of mechanic(s).
Keep it please New weapon skins as well! Great addition and would hate to see it disappear. RIP Clock tower 2k12
Trinity is good. Removing it can be good, but it also produces this guardian-warrior-mesmer problem.
It’s not like it’s a difficult ‘problem’ to solve. This ‘problem’ only exists at a PUG level, but if ANet wanted other classes to be more competitive they could simply buff them. ANet have done a good job of avoiding PvE balance for an entire year, though.
Anyway, currently Warriors/Guardians/Thieves/Elementalists/Mesmers are the flavor classes by good groups (not PUGs). Engineer is good on paper, but from my experience it’s kind of lackluster. Only class which won’t be considered as a competitive class for PvE is Necro. I’m now going to leave this thread before I get barraged by people defending their class.
(edited by The Mexican Cookie.3690)
Sad that people can’t share an accomplishment without elitists or trolls tearing them apart.
Well done OP, good luck with kholer.
I use a Wraith tonic and stand at the outside of the room, and hope my team thinks I’m an enemy trash mob and ignores me. I never have problems with the bubbles.
http://gw2dungeons.net/ will help you getting to know what’s in each path.
I would highly recommend allowing yourself at least an hour before you do a dungeon path (with PUGs). If you really want to play and know you probably won’t have an hour, simply make sure you aren’t the one to open. If you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go.
(edited by The Mexican Cookie.3690)
Grats guys Too bad I wasn’t there to make it faster though
@Broadicea
You basically have it right. Just buff yourself as hard as you can, don’t forget 25 blood lust stacks. I guess you’ll just have to go in and test, see for yourself :P As had been mentioned before, we manged to get up to a 40k hit^^
(edited by The Mexican Cookie.3690)
I think said ‘uberl33t’ players would be stupid to argue against free loot.
+1 for free loot!
I guess this kind of illustrates the general Ranger player mentality
Why else do I continually come back to the dungeon forums? BRING IT ON!
yolo I guess
Banning classes overall is mostly pointless, but limiting the amount of one class can often be a good idea. Your PuG isn’t going to suffer all that much from having a necro. It will however suffer if you have three of them, or if it’s taking the last spot and you really need x class to fill that spot instead.
This thread is worse than Gaddafi.
I hate Maths. Let’s speak Chemistry. Then I’ll show you a whole new world ;D
Why am I all alone with my economics and philosophy ? :s
Because philosophy is useless
You give them too much credit assuming that they knew what was going on within the instance :d
Poor Diddums
All I do is dungeons in this game, but I don’t know if I actually find them fun. Think it just keeps me entertained as I don’t enjoy leveling.
RIP in peace rifles 2k13
Well done. You deserve it after taking the effort to adapt your strategy and keep trying, instead of giving up and being a poobutt baby on the forums. Congratulations^^
And why is this in dungeons?
Only sub-forum that filthy elitists care for these sorts of things. Where would you suggest?
I would suggest either warrior or dicussion. but it seems out of place in dungeons, as it has NOTHING to do with them at all.
No one likes a backseat mod
