There’s the setting that changes all other players to a placeholder model, I can’t remember what it is called.
I’d like if it included weapons, disabled back items and miniatures, and did what ever placeholder and/or removal needed for gliders and what ever else there is now. And an additional option to keep the player’s party visible normally.
Character creation!
I love the different playable races and particularly sylvari, they are so beautiful.
I’ll be gathering. Or I am in an instance idling or playing with toys.
With the old daily and guild influence systems I used to do quiet events. I never particularly liked doing events, but there was stuff I wanted from them. I haven’t done events since.
I have never joined a party of strangers, never even had any interest in group combat. Or very much in combat, in general.
I don’t like people.
I hated their work even before expansion announcements, I would’ve not gotten it even if it had ritualists, three new playable races, player housing, and fishing.
What I know of the expansion… I hate it all too.
There’s something I still want to do so I have converted gold for some gems after the first feature pack happened but I don’t mean to do that a lot in the future. I may want a makeover kit or two. No other shinies for me.
I can’t even make myself to buy Guild Wars stuff since it is Anet game.
People talking about how the royal terrace pass is a waste of gems and here i am with one on every account like…
I wanted the royal terrace pass, then the airship pass came along before terrace reappeared and I got that for all three accounts. My favorite items. Still like the terrace one, just never got it in the end.
Name changes for me too. For very cheap. I will wait until it happens. Only after those I will get some makeover kits if it hasn’t stopped being so important.
I want to change the order of bank tabs, drag them like inventory bags. I’m often double clicking things to move them between bank and inventory. Inventory is good with changing the bag order, bank… I use filler items, drag those around… sigh
I never ever want to accidentally compact my bank.
I wanna make a bunch of free revenant accounts but I can’t imagine this is intended. :/
Please make all runes/sigils salvageable.
This is the option I like the most.
Anyway, I like forging them so I would not like to see that use of them to disappear.
It’s all the same to me if they the story mode of dungeons is changed, but I wouldn’t like them to be forced as a part of the story. It was nice that they were optional.
I hate their progression.
There’s the new player experience which I understand was supposed to be progression of some sort?
There were the trait changes at one point. And they became specializations? I have only opened that window by accident, haven’t wanted to look at it. It’s on, the wait to see if they ever overhaul this into something else in the future again. I don’t trust Anet.
I haven’t seen masteries and never will but what I have read it sounds horrible.
I hate the idea of having to do some specific stuff because something is gated behind it. So I didn’t. I have never liked endgame (high level difficult combat), I was and was always planning to be on a slow and quiet journey of some sort. I have the impression that they started to make their game all about this endgame thing, with its progression.
I deeply hate Anet for their direction.
You don’t want better drops? If so, i’m pretty sure you are in extreme minority here.
I despise their account luck system and I want to avoid it.
Anyway, luck could also be tradeable… /thinks of possibilities
This is I think the third or fourth time I’m suggesting this: remove essences and instead add the luck directly to the account when it would be awarded or generated by salvaging. Adjust some recipes that require essences now to require something else. Problem solved.
And I hate this idea. I despise the account luck system and I don’t want any luck. I destroy the essences.
I wish there was a luck eater.
I miss LA so much.
Not sure if I would buy a pass though.
If I would have to be there all alone in an instance, not being able to take my group… no.
If the old jump puzzle with the plants wasn’t there – and if it was and I couldn’t park a mesmer there… no…
And that other portal to Gendarran.
I want a completely functional copy of it.
How can you not like the free shared slot?
Its nothing but a useful thing. And if you dont want to use it, drag it to the bottom and ignore it. Honestly, people would complain over anything these days.. I miss the dark ages, that’d give people something to complain about
Ugh, the shared slot. I am really glad they only forced those on HoT accounts. I do think that they should have made a consumable so that people could choose.
No, actually, what I really think is that they should not exist at all in the game but whatever. As long as people could just, you know, choose if they have them on their accounts or or not.
Now, carry on with daily.
(I hate events. And still hate the whole daily.)
I absolutely despise the current daily achievement. I hate the structure of 3 of 4 with the demands it has, PvP is unacceptable to me so those other 8 do not exist, and happens that I found one of the variations the previous system just really lovely.
After doing one or two of the tasks a day enough to get writs for three tomes I found that too annoying and painful of a process even though I want tomes.
Now I look at it to avoid completing any part of it save for when I did the clocktower which completed festival or activity or something. I destroyed the reward.
Housing and fishing adds a lot for players who enjoy worlds that allow good immersion and have historically been enjoyed by many in great titles. See Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, ESO, Wildstar, LOTR, Rift, Archeage, BDO, WOW amongst others. Not everything needs to have an Adrenalin hit/reward to be fun. Older players get this more than younger players perhaps.
Agreed.
Actually, if I valued combat outside of considering it a flavor and thinking that it is okay sometimes I could go play some combat game. I understand there are many that have nothing but combat. Rather, I am drawn to online worlds.
Delicious fish recipes…
I would buy fragments if they could be traded.
Only if they were the absolutely minimum price though (like two coppers), don’t really like buying anything from people but cheap stuff is okay…
The only source I have is jump puzzles since I don’t do anything else. I have three hungry stars. :/
I love the yellow flower that can be gotten from the laurel vendor. Although I never use the character that matches the flower, outside of sometimes admiring them.
I also like the spinal blades, at one point wanted to make them, just never got around leveling crafting. I’m keeping those cores and shards forever.
Mawdrey is great, never going to get it though. It would’ve been great with the purple character that is the yellow flower character’s twin. <3
And I like those black and white wings even though I am never buying them.
My characters do not, and would not aside from plants, keep any back items visible. I even like to unequip staves and greatswords when I’m not using them.
MoarChaos, and Na, I realize we were talking about entirely different things. I don’t care about items per strike, that was not my meaning at all.
Oh, with my twin characters I so obsess about, I have observed that xp gain is reliable, and that tools get consumed properly.
The materials in the loot window don’t matter as one strike can give two (maybe more) materials.
Na, the tools? Usual merchant tools… I wish I remembered the wording the WvW tooltip uses for the bonus… I don’t think it depends on the tools, the bonus depends what the node feels like at the moment one strikes it, I guess. Or fate, or the universe.
(I’m ignoring the watchwork pick, and the gathering booster which I think exists or existed, in this)
Look at a rich mining node. Four strikes, with one action. Another four with the next. There’s two left, unless it has bonus strikes. I recall it can. I want to say that mining is always four strikes now, and it that used to be three. Rich node was 3+3+3+1. When I noticed that I first thought that rich nodes now have only 8 strikes instead of 10 (and internally screaming how it had been nerfed), until I went to look at the log, counting the rows of exp.
And race comment was only related to how asura has a four strike mining animation. No different gathering results… I wanted to comment about the three strike animation (which is the case for the other races I know about) and if it should be only three strikes harvest because that is what the animation looks like.
(It shoooould! Fix the results and fix asura mining animation!)
Again, unless it has been changed during the last few months. I think I last went to gather during summer or something.
Oh, absolutely.
Mechant tools. If there are more than three strikes on a mining node, they will get the fourth with that same gathering action. And I wish it wasn’t the case, and I dislike the suggestion the thread started made, and I wanted, or tried to, to mention that the animation doesn’t matter since there are already four strikes despite animation, and asura animation is different.
Have you carefully looked at the mining xp results on the log? I have. Maybe someone can see if it still happens. Or gather a rich node without automatic loot setting on, watch the log for xp from gathering, and how it is grouped.
The two characters I play at the same time and who I want to have identical exp. I usually leave extra strikes ungathered unless I know the level range and can see another node and now what the exp will be. Mining nodes take lot of effort. So, since I had an okay situation with converted gems for now, I stopped gathering (and logging in, just waiting). Still, angry.
No, that part was just about what animation for the races looked like. I came to here to rant about that fourth mining strike I did not ask for which ruins my precious xp. I can’t really bother much more than that.
Nope, I’m just not writing very clearly and not getting my point across.
When mining regular nodes, watch the xp you get. Sometimes there are four rows of xp, so four hits were done. If there’s more you have to mine it again. The fourth only happens if there is more than three strikes in the node (the bonus % because WvW bonuses) and is not animated, it happens with the third strike. Other than with the asura who always seems to strike four times.
Compare to tree nodes, always three, unless something has changed during the last few months. I’m not going to go gathering right now.
There are four strikes with mining nodes, at least there was this year and last year, maybe the one before. Idly observing them one time I saw that human and sylvari characters get the last two (if there is that extra one) on the third strike, and asura strikes four times. But I am not completely sure. I don’t remember how it works if there are 5 strikes for a node.
Rich mining nodes used to be 3+3+3+1, then it was 4+4+2.
I am seriously angry about that because now I have to stop after two strikes and carefully manage my twins so that their exp won’t get messed up…. I sort of stopped gathering.
Maybe it was done because of the rich nodes, trees don’t have rich ones so they stayed at three (no hidden extra one at least earlier this year).
Trade. Everything.
No to the client side only, yes to a sound slider for this category of sounds.
They did what to the wintersday mini sound effects!?
RAGE
I loved town clothes.
I’m just… storing them (twice, here only pictured once) as a sort of shrine of memories, which is what my twin accounts mostly are.
I want romances.
..Then I can look at them on the wiki and pretend my characters have done them because I can’t actually stand doing quests and fetch quests and instances and boss fights and linear stuff or basically anything. Just talking to NPCs would be okay though.
Luck should never have been a tangible. Just award it instantly. They should change it to work like that, the same way they did with the WvW world experience containers. (And change some recipes that require luck essences, of course.) Maybe award a spirit shard for every 30k luck, to remove any grounds for further complaints.
I hate this idea because I truly despise the luck system they made, I want to avoid it completely. I don’t want that luck. Been destroying it all.
…that one 50 luck I used was an accident.
I’d give the luck to a luck eater. Or sell it if it could be traded.
More! Because so many more different characters! All I care about.
…I’m not actually going to buy anything but I’d look at screenshots and videos about character creation.
Leave jump puzzles be. I only like to do the easy ones. Additionally, add completely new ones, everywhere! I’d like them in the other cities too. Easy ones!
Aaaaaaand what I’d like as an additional reward is tomes of knowledge, maybe for characters that are not max level, maybe for all.
(Just because I want tomes. No, I won’t do PvP for any reason ever, I despise it)
I like the star food items (ascended material I can’t remember name of) that 80s get now, it is actually my only source because I don’t do anything else. The blue and green items with chance for rares and exotics, and upgrades, are perfectly okay. Again, my only source since I don’t do anything else. I throw them in the forge, or salvage, depending on level range.
Leave portals be. I think it’s fine to use them. Some people really hate jumping. I can understand that with my PvP hate.
I hate their ideas of progression.
Everything! Everything must go. AAAAAAAHAHA HA HA!
Especially the miniature system. Even more than the NPE.
But generally the first feature update and everything after that. What new story and maps can stay as long as it is not gating anything, or being gated by stuff, I guess. I don’t particularly care about it.
(I am angry and hateful person)
Name changes, for very cheap.
I like those free items, like the key that was just now. More! A makeover kit would be great…
Only male characters I have are a charr and depending on math, two or nine sylvari. Charr mostly because I was curious about the voice and then I never played that one, sylvari because pretty.
Then the girls happened and the sylvari retired. :’D
I adore my spirit ritualist.
Ohhh do I know about those logs, and ruins, and broken stairs too. I’m currently in the Diessa Lowlands map, I have some skulls for Nicholas. Great stuff. ._.
There really should be a forum section for GW. I would at least read it.
edit because I am being mesmerized by my necromancer dancing to the music I’m listening:

What about making the Clocktower rewards desirable again?
IIRC, originally the small chests gave 3 ToT bags and the end gave 15-10-5 in diminishing returns for first, second and following daily completions, with the first of the year also giving an exotic (originally boots, then gloves for three years, iirc).
Now it’s a consistent 1 for small chest each, and 5 for big chest, with 20 emphyreal fragments on first daily completion (only 20 for something that’s so common?).
Only one from small ones now? Last year it was 1, 1-2, 2-3, making the end result 9, 10, or 11 for each run if changing instance after every completed run.
I only like easy. Of the combat things when the prince was around I did that instance once a day because I liked it. Couldn’t figure out the Mad King fight so never did that.
Other than that it’s mostly been the clock tower. And I liked the pumpkins. Ignored all the rest of the things.
Iron.
Some characters got Tea Jeans dyed items at some point and then I just couldn’t like anything else for them.
I’d like to be able to exchange a scroll for that amount of tomes.
Eeeeeh? Hehehe…
They get them. All mine are now level 20 thanks to the scroll. I had been waiting for the birthday since I didn’t want to play.
I like home instances. I have also used the Vigil instance in Gendarran when I lived in the airship.
Another common location is near a jeweler station, city or airship, which is okay since I was there anyway, for those times I don’t feel like watching all the loading screens. Moved the game away from SSD at some point, later the game got too big to go back.
If I happen to go to a slightly more complicated jump puzzle I will leave them there to wait. Same if I ran somewhere far during a gathering trip.
