Believe it or not, but BG “blobs” during prime time would only choose to blob if we are fighting blobs. Most guilds prefer to run on their own for the most part, and pugs will join if they like the commander. Even if it’s a private raid, people will follow the tag.
Our solo players still run solo a lot, but they can’t as often, especially during NA prime, because they get run over constantly. Same as any other server.

Not denying that we have pretty big blobs when they build up. But we give what we get.

BG has fought in T2 a few times relatively recently, and I always see those T2 servers posting in the cancer forums about how refreshing it is to fight us. And it’s the same for us. How nice it would be to be able to see the sun when we fight, instead of trying to outheal the 9 AC’s trained on us.

I know full well most on these forums will deny this as much as they can, but what can be done, people will always find something to complain about. If it’s not numbers overall, then it’s “You’re only winning fights because of ND” (the most common one I hear), or it’s our SEA, which was never our strongest time compared to certain other servers, or our EU (pretty sure no one has complained about BG having any EU yet though)

And lastly, yes, we have a huge population, a population that enjoys running WvW because our commanders and WvW guilds make it fun to do. Even when we’re losing, we can still get people to want to WvW with us.

Remove 3 player requirement for g missions

For everyone against this idea: will it affect you negatively if it was done? If not, why are you arguing if not just for the sake of arguing?

I have a large enough guild that if we really wanted to, we could do em all without a fuss, but we usually don’t bother (especially with escort) during our prime times because we’re busy fighting/capping/defending. To set aside 3 or more people to do some easy missions isn’t something our commanders would want to do.

Many times, we might have people playing in their off hours, or in another map waiting for the q to pop, chances are they wont be in groups of 3 often, and even if they are, they’d probably rather focus on havoc than on escorting yaks.

Reward Tracks Suggestion

Ven Zehn.6573

Since this affects both PvP and WvW now, thought this would be the best place.

Can you allow us to disable reward tracks in the “Available” section?

Reason: I have every dungeon and map skin, and have no use for things like silverwaste or similar tracks, and when I complete a track, the track xp is automatically sent so a new track.

In pvp, it doesn’t matter as much currently because all my un-needed tracks are at 100%, so the extra xp has no where to go.
In WvW though, the tracks were added recently, so all the tracks I don’t need, but have unlocked, are at 0%, so the system just chooses whichever track to continue with after I finish one.

This would also help us with reducing clutter.

Not a big deal or anything, but I think it’d be a nice addition that probably wouldn’t take too much work to implement.

I really like the skins, and have a lot of tickets with which to get em, but I still don’t agree with the choices made with making these bound.

As far as being special, there’s no lore behind them (yet), and if they really were special, they would’ve been obtainable via gameplay, maybe associated with the little tidbits of Living World we’ve been getting.

I don’t usually think things like this are worth commenting on, but in this case, I mostly hope our opinions matter enough to prevent trends in the future.

Whoo boy. How do you guys even find these to necro? I know for a fact the search function can’t do it.

Anyway, I’m assuming you’re responding to the original question there, but nothing in that says he might still be alive. If lack of purpose bestowed immortality, half the human population would never die.

Necromancy as an art tends to find the deepest most hidden secrets of life and death

As far as Razah, only reason he’d stay alone is if he were locked somewhere. I’d imagine he plays a similar role to Ogden, except in Elona, maybe working with the Sunspears or similar.

He is/was curious about human nature, both the good, and the bad. Depending on the humans he spent the most time with, he could just as easily become a force of “evil”.

I could also see him playing a role of support to Kormir as well, though less likely.

As for my comment on her being in the frontlines, you usually don’t want people who’d run headfirst into risen during a moment of grief/insanity. Worst case scenario, you pull off a Leroy and screw up everyone’s plans on getting the best loot:P

Adding cast time to ALL Dragon Hunter traps?

in PvP

Posted by: Ven Zehn.6573

Ven Zehn.6573

Most DH traps have a solid “trigger” time, before the actual damage or effect take place, i.e. they can be dodged after getting triggered. Ranger/Thief traps trigger instantly, which imo would be far better than what DH traps are atm.
So how bout we do that, make DH traps take a little more time to set, but get instant undodgable effects instead. Only trap that would keep instant cast would probably be the stunbreak one (few enough people use that aside from the trait anyway)

hahahahha no, just no

trap DH is cheesy cancer just like turret engi which simply shouldn’t exist on first place

i am all up for bunker or even medi guard viability but not trap dh

I know lol, people would cry even more, I said that example to show people that the DH traps really aren’t as bad as they could be. The fact they can be dodged out of, mitigating all damage and effects, makes them weaker than thief/ranger traps.

If I get hit by a spike trap, I cant dodge out, I don’t even know if you can dodge across it without getting hit.

And some of the proposed nerfs to DH traps…. like making them visible, if that’s done, it better be done to every trap in the game……

I’ve had maybe 10 loss streak at most, if I notice I keep getting crap matchups with either teams that won’t work together, or I keep getting matched against premades or people clearly higher skill levels, I take a break. Either do some unranked, go PvE/WvW, or log off. Hoping when I get back in, the matchmaker has calmed down a bit.
“Usually” when I get back, the streak is broken pretty quickly.

I notice I tend to get the worst matchups after reset, and notice the most blow outs in general during those times (whether or not I’m on the winning side). Weekends tend to be more rough as well.

And yea, if that still doesn’t seem to help, q with a skilled friend, ideally one with experience lol, since your combined mmr will likely mean tougher matches (or at least matches against higher mmr soloq’ers)

Lastly, try using a different class or build if the ones your using don’t seem to be cutting it, and be willing/ready to switch character.

Eh, we’ve had more than our fair share of siege trolls, map spies, TS spies, and now tactivator trolls, both against us, and on our side.
We as a community frown upon it’s usage, but that can only go so far, people will do what they want to do.
As for players who use it against us, we learn to work around it. If we think there’s a TS spy, we make sure people in our TS know so that either we avoid putting too much info out, or maybe we try to feed false info (rarely happens and rarely works, but hey, lol)

Or, just take pride in the fact that people feel the need to do these things to win against you.

It’s pretty much the internet, but with more toys for trolls to use aside from their words:)

There are many things Anet can try, and they have, as well as every other company that deals with similar things, but as others have mentioned, players will always find a way to abuse the system, or work around it.

In real life, nations hang or imprison spies and saboteurs.

A game without comparable options can’t include spying or sabotage as legitimate gameplay.

In board games or parlour games that feature spying or sabotage, there always exists some option to sideline or eliminate spies or saboteurs. Often that’s a major element of the game itself (spies and saboteurs conceal their identity, misdirect, and try to get other players to lynch innocent players as spies; investigators have spy-detecting powers; etc).

That was basically my point. Maybe I just needed to make it more clear:)

Maybe if the damage of the hammer block was removed?
I can see why a Scrapper would get both a reflect and a block on one weap set though, since you have no weap swap, and you’re limited to pure melee if you run hammer aside from utilities.

My only issue against scrapper is the defensive abilities of Hammer:

From 1 weap set, they get:
A full block ability on a 20s cooldown (that also does damage), a reflect on a 6s cooldown and an AoE daze
Combined with gyros, it gets out of control, since they have melee pressure, and solid anti-range abilities.
If it was a scrapper with a rifle on the other hand, they get dealt with easily enough.

Warrior’s shield is on a 25s cooldown, and only reflects if traited. Closest thing I can think of to compare to Scrapper Hammer.

I honestly don’t mind spies as much (no, I don’t do it personally, and don’t condone it for friends/guildies), it creates an interesting side of the game to play against. The only issue for me, is there’s no way to counter it really, even if you discover the spy, there’s not much you can do.
Like, in a real life situation, people could basically ignore the spy, or make it so that it’s more difficult for them to do.
But in a game, us ignoring them would actually make their jobs easier lol.
I like the idea of commanders being able to mark spies, but that can easily get abused or misused. And if a commander logs, is that mark removed? Will new commanders have to mark spies themselves?
I mean, how nice would it be if we were able to “jail” people lol. Something easier to do with a boardgame.

Why pick bow over rifle?

Ven Zehn.6573

I only run power wars, way back in vanilla days (before the new trait system, when I could get piercing/immob on cripple/and immob removal with movement) I used sword/shield rifle a lot for pvp, brawler style. Rifle butt is the main reason why I love it so, and now, with primal burst it’s quite lovely. Granted against certain classes, I’d switch rifle out for GS or Hammer.

Bow for me, just was never very impressive, way back when the range was 900? and only hit 1200 with a trait. The attacks always felt slow, though I guess higher dmg per hit made up for it. The fire field and blinds were nice, but easily made up for imo (might build up via GS, and others usually had firefields if in PvE). At least from a power standpoint.

All in all, I like cc control in a fight, so having the shield bash and rifle butt were ideal. And that occasional f1 rifle burst when they’ve run out of dodges, or aren’t paying attention:D

Tempests aren’t god mode (they are strong though), and can be countered. If you’re trying to fight on 1 point with a tempest or 2 and the rest of their team, you’re doing it wrong. Out rotate, focus fire, think on your feet.
When the teams start getting multiple tempests or other bunkerish builds, it gets very annoying, and you do have to fight harder/smarter, but it’s still doable.

Wars get endure pain and relatively passive heals that can be pretty easily countered, as opposed to blocks out the wazoo, short cooldown evade skills (multiple), multiple life bars, teleports, true invulns, and various other things.

Our balanced stance still gets stripped/eaten through like nothing (gotta love a necro fear fearing you off a stomp right when you pop balanced), our resistance has a high cooldown, and limited utility.

Wars are strong, stronger than they’ve been in a while, but still quite easily countered if you pay attention to what you’re doing.

Even condi wars (I don’t and never will play it, aside from raids), what they give up for in order to get that amount of condi, is the mobility and sustainability of other builds (that I’ve seen), their reach is generally pretty low. They have longbow as an option, but it’s not a great one, and doesn’t do much compared to their close range abilities.
Usually, only time I get killed by a condi war, is when they +1 a fight, and load me up with condis while I’m focused elsewhere.
