Change things up yourself then, play non-meta, and win, perhaps then ev1 playing meta will realize we don’t have to fall into this rut. Or do you need the meta to sway in your favor, seeing as how you play 2 meta’s.
Perhaps you’re kittened because you’re a Meta tempest, and if everyone else plays meta tempest, then the game is crap(pier).
I got 23 golems with about 5k encryptions, no aetherized skins /tear
But overall, pretty good profit. Though how nice it would’ve been to have a small chance at getting T6 mats n lodestones.
Also, pretty sure you can’t get ascended chests or even rings from encryptions.
Just hit Sapphire, wasn’t using my Ranger till a couple days ago though. Was initially running Hybrid DPS Druid (marauders) which did ok, but it wasn’t great. I then swapped back to my Pre-HoT Power Ranger, with a smokescale lol.
It was actually quite amazing, I took down bunkers solo, or they ran. I have a solid advantage of range against Reapers, and rarely ever have trouble with em unless they blindside me while I’m focused elsewhere.
Not enough sustain to deal with a good Tempest, and certain high dmg burst builds still hurt a lot, but honestly, I’m loving it.
I’m almost always top or close to top score, and have been getting a lot of double pip wins.

They added it so people could level their elite specs on their characters through WvW…. and yet your complaining about classes that you won’t take through WvW…..
Why should you be able to get your elite spec for one class, by playing another class. I didn’t get to level my Daredevil Elite spec by PvEing with my elem…….
As far as forcing you into the HoT maps? No one is forcing you to make another character and leveling their elite spec.
(Masteries are NOT Elite specs, them being account bound does not relate to Elite Specs)

Pretty sure it has nothing to do with the DH, the downstate skills are the same as any guardian. Does the DH have an ally nearby, particularly revs? (Rev rez can full heal a downed if traited by the damage their enemies put on the downed I think)
The traps don’t despawn, but I don’t think any are capable of rezzing.
Although, there have been times I’ve gotten up after being down, and a few dif classes, where I’m sure no one has died to rally me. Maybe another class with a rez skill, maybe even necro.

Aetherblade Retreat is probably one of the best for essence drops in my experience, have had runs with 3 drops. Underground is also pretty solid.
But as others have said, you do swamp/molten duo every time, you wont get much.

I made a post a while ago about changing banners lol, for these same reasons, though I wanted my banners to be carried by asura progeny (untargettable/unkillable)
He might’ve gotten it from one of the daily chests, I’ve gotten one for the Fractal Adept Daily. (Apparently super luck there, since I haven’t gotten another from em lol)
My guess is the Recommended Daily chest also has a chance (best I’ve gotten are rings).
It was intended to be a journey, to do something long enough to obtain the materials needed. Those who ran a lot of them already, will likely have a stockpile, where as those who only started doing fractals because of the backpiece will find their journey will take time (like it should).
Similar to how the pvp track requires materials we obtained through pvp (shards of glory I think) though the pvp ones are at least tradable.
(And if you spent all you essences before on crafting, bad luck I guess, I crafted too, but always kept a certain amount in my bank)
I actually had a match a couple days ago, I was rolling war, and we had 2 elems and a thief, playing against DH/Chrono/ and some others, maybe a rev, not too sure.
Anyway, before the match starts, one of the eles swaps char, I was thinking to a rev or something, loads in, and boom, another warrior lol.
So the other ele in our team puts in map chat: 2 war, 1 thief… GG
Game goes on… long story short, we win by like 100points.
Just thought it was funny that someone actually swapped TO war before the match, and it was glorious lol.
With all the evade/blind/block spam now, what if we had something like:
Enraged: Every miss or blocked attack builds up charges, making your next “successful” hit deal a % more damage.
By successful, I mean the next hit that isn’t mitigated, and without losing the charges for getting it mitigated.
(This kind of on the same level of classes not losing stealth when their attacks are mitigated, or if their dmg is not direct dmg)
Or maybe:
Drunken Brawler: 50% chance that an attack that is mitigated (via block/evade/blind) still lands a glancing blow.
And broomstick!

I think they mean post activation… as in, it is hitting you, so it shouldn’t be invis at that point.
And I didn’t realize that was the issue til now, pvping, I know I’m in a trap, but the visual queues as to which trap is hitting me aren’t there

Chain whip sword isn’t quite the same imo.
I’ve always loved running S/D on my ele, still do, but yes, the auto attack barely makes a dent in anything:(
Though I also play in melee range usually, so being on my fields is no issue.
Water 2 is pretty solid for vuln stacking, though the delay on it makes it hard to hit with, similar to DT.
Water 3, pretty good dmg, and great heal, probably my 2nd favorite out of all the water skills.
I love air 2/3, can be cast instantly during a channel similar to a shout.
Pre HoT I fought against many D/D’s with S/D, was probably a 60/40 win rate for me, though we were all cele lol, and more or less depended on avoiding the right combos n hitting with yours.
Ive seen people advertising in lobby for amber tier players to join their team, I’m assuming it’s to lower the team average mmr:/

Even if the costs of mats weren’t inflated due to current market demand, scribe would still be pretty expensive, some of the items requiring large quantities of various materials, to yield something mundane.

Cooking is similar in complexity, but one can level cooking without throwing their bank at it.
Jzaku has it, we can play, and play well, but we are kitten. I still play it, up to tier 2 emerald solo’qing.
Hell, I’ve even had a couple guild teams ask me to play with them more.
So I think everyone needs to take a step back n relax, some of us are saying we do well despite being on our wars, no need to get angry at that.
And others are just sayin wars are in a bad state, compared to other classes, which is also true.
Torch 4 hit’s hard even with power, and the fire field is solid.
Been soloqing with my war and mes, up to emerald tier 2 now, and it’s been a blast, I have way more fun on my war, and as others have said, there’s an amount of pride you get playing a class that isn’t considered OP against classes that are, and win.
Ive yet to get any complaints from either side though lol, which I think is a good thing.
Same with the Order’s Amulets:( at least the marauder amulets I can use.
I tried to go in solo, didn’t work lol, I think you guys are on to something though.
If you enjoy a challenge, and don’t mind being the underdog, go for it, though if you’ve never played war before, it’ll be especially rough.

Erm, the big pods that have swords on em? you have to kill em to make the boss vulnerable, else you can’t kill them.
Preservers keep respawning to resummons the pods, which you do not want.
Theyre not that hard to kill actually, if you hit first, they go down fast, if they spawn smoke, move away n let em move out of it. Annoying but theyre not bad.
I use it in PvE/WvW on my war, with the trait to remove a condi on swap, so I’d be able to remove 2 per swap. Rather than relying on a hit with a war, in melee, in pvp against blinds/blocks/evades lol.
Ive noticed this a lot, those who decap and prevent cap, might end up with minimal points, even if it was their effort that kept the other team from getting any points. But this is a hard thing to give value to.
Does a person get 10 points for every 30s of standing in an uncapped point while in combat?
Not really a bug either, the way it’s set up, you get points for doing certain things, in this situation, there’s cap and decap, maybe kills, but if he’s alone and bunkering, he likely wont get a kill. He already decaps once, and enemies will come and go to try to move him, but he’s not capping, he’s not decapping, and he’s not killing, he’s just surviving.
And as far as the pip, you probably need a minimum number of points to get a pip:( (or else an afk might get a pip if their team still wins) And yes, if someone was watching or paying attention to the fight, they could say “yes he deserves a pip” but there is no such person, just programming:(

Besides the whole HP rant I agree on the impact over the community… I also noticed how now people is less likely to res you during meta boss fights specially, now it’s extended to “in general” … there are still some noble souls out there…
Depends, if you’re downed and in a safe spot to rez, people will rez.
If you’re full dead, people risk getting dead themselves by rezzing.
If you’re downed, and in the middle of a fire field or similar, only people with the right utilities can do anything for you without dying.
This is a two way street: I consider you a jerk if you’re full dead and just sitting waiting for a rez, while everyone else WP’s to run back. (not you in particular, just any “you” who does this lol)
Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but could we get the Sigil of Cleansing available in pvp (and maybe any other new craftables).. some day, even if it has to be after leagues.
Don’t see this as being OP or anything personally, no more than the Sigil of Generosity.
Aim for top score at all times:) Though there should also be a lower limit, if you have a horridly low score, no pip if your team wins. Might not be a great idea there though, since some people might be trying really hard but just can get those points for whatever reason.
I think if Lost Precipice had more green, maybe a room with a hot spring, more would’ve gone for it lol.
I liked both, both have great ideas and design, but there’s something about all that sand “…it’s course, and rough, and irritating, and gets everywhere”
Positioning, timing your dodges, cleave/aoes, if it’s only 1 enemy with those, shouldn’t be too big a deal generally.
For Mesmer clones, watch when they all converge on you, dodge out.
Necro minions don’t bother me much, aside from the golem KD. Should just be able to cleave these.
Ranger pets.. Treat em as another weaker player, watch where they are, but focus on the ranger. Movement skills, blinks, keep moving, pet attacks don’t hit as easily.
Not sure actually but I don’t think so, I’m currently the captain for 2 of our teams and have been in n out of other teams quite often.
Hmm, I like the idea that you can only represent one of your guild teams, but that’d be easy enough for players to work around it.
Well, some people (most) have trouble blaming themselves, so they pick the easy target, which right now apparently is war:(
I actually like the risk of losing a pip, some things need to be fixed about it, but I like the idea behind it. Though maybe make it so you can only lose 1 pip max, not 2, except maybe in diamond and legendary.
(Granted losing the pip due to an afk/tanker/dc sucks)
Getting on the hill is no issue, so teleport/gun wouldn’t do much.
When ever I did it, I’d get lucky n have others there, so some of us would take agro. One time I got it while another who was communing got hit, so after I finished, I tried to take agro from the other guy, not sure if it worked, those spiders really wanted him lol.
Main issue with DS is the time limit to do everything at the end, most of the people are trying to get as many pods as they can before theyre kicked.
But, what I do, for every HP I can’t solo, is ask in map, sometimes I get people, sometimes not, if not, I move on, or I try to solo anyway, but if you still cant get it, just move on, n watch map chat for someone else who wants it, or people doing HP trains, which I see quite often.
Yea ive gotten 2 pips for wins occasionally, didn’t pay much attention to why I got it lol.
