New Meta Chrono?

OK we did some testing and it would apear toxic maintenence oil is NOT affected by any stat bonuses that do not come from gear, this mean this build will not be at 100% boon duration, I’m going to make an edit later to fix it later as it will need more commanders.

@cyninja.2954 Danger time you don’t need to run, if you are not skilled with chrono and you cannot keep up alacrity by yourself then if is not recommended, in that case run berserker instead of Valk in which case you should be using inspiration as I said above. With valk and danger the original build critical chance was overcapped at 99.85%, please remember that gw2skills.net has not made accommodations for the latest balance pass.

@kadj.6725 you should never run lost time, never. Lost time is a waste of time because you will always have 100% uptime of slow on bosses. That’s because the minimum 4 iavengers that you should have up in your squad will keep it up for you.

New Meta Chrono?

Hi guys I am in a pretty lucky spot, chrono is not my biggest love so my legendary armour went elsewhere, however because of the addition of legendary armour to pvp I got a free stat swap on all of my ardent glorious gear on my chrono.

Although it’s not my favourite class it is one of my most used being one of the only people in my social group who does chrono lol. Anyway I wanna play it but I don’t wanna because I have this once in a life time free stat swap on my leadership gear and qT is taking their sweet time xD

So whatever I’ll just make it myself.
This is what I came up with:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQNAs8encfCFohlfC+fCUrhlVjq+Yb2ptcDGhAAdLOjqA-TBSBQBXU5AAOJAWS9nJ+AA43+DkUJ490LISlcBAOA+tvx3gzP/8zP/8+93f/93fLFgX7qA-e

There is a few things to note, this build is limiting and sorta difficult to play for a few reasons:
1. I am using Danger Time, I have used this for a few months in encounters, with the exception of a few bosses or groups where keeping up quickness or alac can be a little bit annoying.
2. Anyone who has played illusions/domination knows how stressful it can be, this is pretty much the same thing.

Saying that there is actually no reason not to slot domination or inspiration if you need it if you are satisfied losing the juicy dps.

The Boon Duration is like this:
1. Default with full buffs including pinpoint distribution: 100.65%
2. Default without pinpoint distribution: 100.06%
3. Without compounding Power (if you want dom or insp or both): 100.06%
4. Without compounding Power and Pinpoint Distribution (if you want dom or insp or both): 99.45%

You’ll noticed I used valk a lot, that was just because I am also using danger time so you will be way over stacked on precision, if you don’t feel comfortable with danger time just yet though you can just change in zerk/ assassins where I put valk. To note dueling will net you more blurred frenzies because of fencer’s finesse and more alacrity from phantasmal haste.

You’ll also notice that the trait tooltips, utility and food have not been updated on gw2skills.net.

I went for Toxic Maintenance, I just feel like it totally swamps the rest. The only other other ones worth thinking about is Peppermint Oil for some minstrels/magi nonsense or the Magnanimous Maintenance Oil for a full tank. EVEN in those circumstances I think they might still be useless because the buff from other sources like might or banners will make Toxic better yet.

Problems with this build:
This is one thing I struggle with and I cannot be sure until I try it, is what would be better Illusions or Domination? Because you need Conti Split to keep quickness up it means your illusions will be losing a lot of phantasmal force, this might mean that domination will do more damage in the perfect comp. After observing other dps parses of chrono vs mesmer and from my previous experience, I however feel like domination will be comparable to illusions, except that it will be more difficult to maintain alacrity, and more difficult to survive. Probably doesn’t really matter because you swap on the go anyway xD

Well if you have any advice or anything you would recommend changing please let me know, I am not an authority on build crafting, I am just looking for advice.

edit: For varying your toughness to another chrono’s you can just have 1 use nopalitos and the other golden dumplings or whatever. You can even use soldiers trinkets or gear if want to go even higher.

Coming from WoW - need some answers!

Heyho community!

I’m seeking for a new MMORPG.

I’ve spend many years of playing WoW.
Now I want to give GW2 a go – got HoT already.

But since there are just a few spells on most characters, except for Elementalist which can actually pull out a few -
1.) isn’t the PvP not kind of too predictable?
2.) isn’t the PvP not becoming dull rather quickly?
3.) what makes the PvP challenging/competitive?

I’m used to have a kittenload of spells, so this is fells kind of like a “lite” version of a PvP game to me.

  1. Besides that – Is it actually worth to play GW2 now? I heard so many cons of some people, like little to no players, laggy servers and so on..
I’m from Austria, Europe – which server is well populated? Currently I’m on Abaddon’s Mouth.

4.) How active is the community? How populated are the areas, bosses?

5.) Is it actually worth it to play GW2 for mainly PvP?

Any opinions, suggestion or pointing out stuff that I’ve missed about PvP would be very, very welcome!
Please – try to be as unbiased as possible!

  • Used to play either mainly as a Rogue/Warlock.
Affliction Warlock – basically Dots (in GW2 language it’s conditions if I’m not mistaken)
or Rogue – loved to strike from the shadows, play with people’s minds, make them think they can win, played a little with them, but eventually showing them who’s the real big boi here.

6.) So – which classes would fit me? Mesmer for the mind games, or is it the Rogue?
What about conditions/dots? Which class would go hand in hand with it?

Many thanks in advance!

HI there, I won’t put much into this because I don’t know it’s value.

Gw2 for an mmo has actually pretty good pvp, I think though like any other game it’s so easy to get caught up in the opinions of the vocal minority.

DW about servers, just play the game because it is extremely forgiving, if you played on a f2p account first before upgrading then you can change servers once for free when you find a solid guild. Unlike in wow, if you bump into issues and frustrations the support team are extremely generous and helpful.

With consideration to skills, I get that it’s sorta weird not having lots of skills on hand to use, however you will not miss having them. Just give it a solid go and make up your own opinion on it.

In the early duels I am winning, as I wrote on reddit this was on patch day when mesmer ate big nerfs with Illusionary reversion etc and misha was fooling around with different builds to see if it worked without etc, then in later duels he goes normal build and I cannot kill him whatsoever so enjoy.

And then picture him kiting to spots where I can’t port and he would just resustain himself/get CD’s if we don’t care about the node. And if we take node into account imagine he would full cap -> maybe i can pressure for a neutral -> he full caps so in the end its 100% not worth it, and I won’t kill him

haha, yeah in a match that would be a total waste of time. Ok but just on the build, I don’t think later on he is using illusionary reversion either, that alacrity uptime was crazy. I liked his idea of taking Ineptitude, but in a match losing aoe daze and reflect is pretty tough.
edit: not that it matters, as a thief it is possible to 1v1 but mostly it’s a waste of time. I dont think its a matter of skill or matchup so much as it is a waste of time because to win a 1v1 you need to spend most of your time off a point anyway soo what is the point of winning a duel for 5 points and a decap when in that time they could have gained 60 points from that node

Well anyway that slam attack can be baited. It’s always the closest one to KC, so the first one you might just have to eat. But the rest of them you can just have a druid hang back to lure it away from the group. The slam happens after the donut/pizza attack after the pacman phase. When the group is running back just get one of the druid to hang back until they get a beam that connects them to KC. When the beam pops that’s when The slam will happen at your location.

“I’m rarely ever able to kill anyone solo”

In a 1v1 half of it is understanding your class, the other half is understanding their class. Try playing other classes to learn their strengths and weaknesses. Druid has a massive potential to duel, 1v1 and give massive team support. But no matter how good you might be at druid, you still gotta do the rig and roll and research that other people do :P Eventually you’ll start to 1v1 really well, a good place to start is here: http://qqmore.net

>Attitude looks like a hardcore player with a positive and a kind Demeanour.
>We really shouldn’t have to mention this again, but make sure you have access to a mic or are in the process of acquiring one."

Use the picture for reference, the red line is a break in pathing. From the bottom of the ramp you can port up, but from the top it is impossible.
This is only on the red side.

If you’re fleeing you can use this to your advantage against scrubs if you have better map awareness because they will not know the work around.

To repeat the map is broken here and you must stand below the red line to port.

Moral problems with raiders

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Zlater.6789

Zlater.6789

I am not new to raiding, I have only killed escort once and it took forever, but I am a super good player. I saw Nike do a xera kill once before when he talked about something and I totally get what is going on from the video, like I notice you need leyline gliding and I have got Ley Line Gliding! So there was an experienced group looking for people on the LFG for KC, that’s just like a lesser version of Xera right? And I just did escort. Should be easy, I actually decided to take necro for epi it could help to kill the other spirits that come up too.

Well this is what happened after I joined can you believe how horribly they treated me?

So I joined the group, I did the best dps too, arc dps is broken so it doesn’t show the real dps of necromancer, but I was the only person doing condi and condi is way better than power at the moment. qt said it in reddit and because I was the only person running condi I knew, straight away I would have to carry those people. That why I don’t like dps meters actually, because they are not true and they make people elitists even though they don’t know anything about gw2. It’s not all about the dps anyway, they should know that you need REAL tanks and REAL healers too.

Ours were horrible, ok so our tank, they couldn’t even manage their own aggro properly. Those spirits that kept spawning they kept chasing me instead of the tank! I think the number 1 reason we died was because the tanks were horrible, I had to kite those for the group who didn’t even do any damage on them, I was the only one who did damage. Thankfully after about 10 tries the tank left and we got another one, the new one was a little bit better but still pretty horrible. Well anyway after all of this had happened the commander whispered me and said I was the reason we kept dieing!

umm, WHAT!?!?!

I was obviously the only person there who knew what to do, I tried to tell the commander that the real reason we died was because our tank was bad. But I got kicked anyway and he decided to block me. How rude, I’m sick and tired of this elitist attitude with the raiding community, I’m never going to raid again.
/rant over

Public service announcement:
If you attempt to join my exp group and LIE to me. That’s a moral problem you are having, not a player skill problem, your dishonesty wastes my time and the time of 9 other players. Who might each otherwise be running a training pug in that time for a potential total of 90 new players, instead of a salty time wasting pug. Thats a loss/loss situation and a very selfish thing to do.

Anyone who joins my group and they:
-Acts mute and does not reply when they are asked something
-Does trashy dps when that’s their role
-Does not know how to do the mechanics of their role
-Repeatedly messes up mechanics
-Messes up mechanics that should be impossible to mess up
-Cannot find the discord channel when asked to join
-Uses the wrong build and ready’s up
-Uses trashy food

I am going to assume you have been dishonest to me and lied. Please expect to be instantly kicked.

Improvisation Rework

in Thief

Posted by: Zlater.6789

Zlater.6789

Ok I actually like improv, it works as such if you slot 1 of each skill type with an elite spec. it will always recharge one of the available skills.

Because it also only affects available skill types, it means that it won’t attempt to recharge a skill type that it doesnt have. So even with 10 elite specs, it will always be just as powerful. Actually no, if you don’t use a elite spec and just use core thief, then this trait becomes even stronger.

I am of the strong opinion that the GM traits in DA are masterfully placed, because all are very strong, and all have a place in the meta!!! That’s amazing balance when you compare it to every trait specialisation.

There is one thing however, I’m not sure if it’s been fixed or not, but it would be good if improv could finally be fixed to also affect the passive haste utility in trickery (flanking strikes). I think this is honestly the only thing it needs. It would be better to focus on the GM’s of other trait specialisations.

This is pretty much the full tank build you’ll find on the Internet right?
As long as you have the highest toughness and you can keep up Quickness your job is done. As long as your group doesn’t try to deal over 200k group dps it doesn’t matter if you deal 10k or 2k dps.

  • In cases where you need to sustain yourself (e.g. Deimos) I’d recommend Mantra heal and restorative mantras.
While the rezz bubble can carry groups sometimes the manta can sustain yourself at most bosses without the need for a druid.
  • If you want more heal on your allies you can swap a few stats around and take rune of the monk. (66.4% doon duration). Is what i’ve come up with (idc for these .6% tbh)
  • If you don’t keep your weapon swap on CD the superior Sigil of Water could be better for healing. ( renewal: 83hps if used all 9s // water 104hps if used all 5s)

Try to adapt your build for every boss. For most bosses with toughness aggro it’s enough if you just get about >1,400 toughness. (or even less if the warriors don’t rezz)

*Hmm that’s interesting about the mantra, I decided to use the well instead because of alacrity, but I feel like that would be adaptive.
*I decided for durability runes because they are the second strongest runes for a chronomancer. For comparison leadership benefits 666 relevant stats, durability 600 and monk 400. As for why durability instead of leadership: because lol using anything minstrels or nomads, rip damage.
*OK I’m not an expert on water vs renewal, I’ll do my best to explain renewal though. The reason I chose sigil of renewal is because of 3 things. 1 Its heal can be controlled by weapon swap and personal positioning rather than boss positioning, a small distinction but an important one. 2 It has a higher coefficient than water, so even though water heals more for with 0 healing power, renewal should heal for more with healing power. 3 In practice the proc rate of water is much more than 5 seconds and weapon swap is required because of concentration sigil.

Hey guys, I’m coming here to consult for assistance because I want to make a second set for my chronomancer and I am looking for a little bit of experienced help before I do it.

To set the premise I already have a build that I can use on any raid boss in any instance. However after a while of playing chronomancer I understand why people are making things like a ‘minstrels’ chronomancer. It has those niche uses where actually it is very strong. I take issue with the current minstrels build for a number of reasons, so I theory crafted a build that would be better fitted to the current meta, a few things I was watching out for.

1.Have solid healing, but not to kill GotL.
2.Needs to fill that niche role, but it needs to be self sufficient.
3.Must hit exactly 100% boon duration with Dom/Insp.
4.Has to fit into the current meta, so in such a way it doesn’t cause redundancies.

This is what I came up with: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vhEQRAsd8encfC9fiFoBmfCEgiFVjiMAGhi7MIWiprOZn2qF-TRiywAKOJAQUyVV5QZlgOfCA22fooKDCUnBg+hAAIAeuQH6QH6QboDdoDdoDtUAZOTD-e

I’m looking for feedback, and criticisms. Please if you see anything wrong let me know how I can improve it.

Has Raiding Changed At All?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Zlater.6789

Zlater.6789

It is recommended to run a nomads/minstrel chrono if you low-man content past the enrage timer. It is also useful in some group comps in raiding where it you would have the chrono lose their damage to remove the need for a healer or to add a third healer without having to drop a deepser, some places I have seen this become useful are on:

Matthias
Escort (Tower Chrono, no druid)
Cairn
Demios (Tank)

There are probably others too, but I haven’t seen it become useful anywhere else yet, and tbh you probably aren’t in a place where you would be able to clear that content considering you have never tried raiding.

Li rework discussion

Zlater.6789

There is a huge conceptual problem in asking for ‘prestige’ when the biggest barrier to raid isn’t skill base but time based (to organize, practice and raid repeatedly).

Your prestige is already quite time dependent. I mean, does killing all bosses 150 times proves you have more skill than killing them 25? The collection is the skill part of the raid where you proved you could triumph over all type of challenge there was, but the LI part is a time gated grind nothing else. And people can already pay for it on top of it…

So, really, it isn’t so much ‘prestige’ you want as exclusivity at this point. However, since the only legendary tier armor is locked behind raids, the number of players that are going for that armor is not helping keeping it exclusive at all. Its the same problem there was for the Ascension.

Had the reward been a kitten envoy aura (for example), not 6 legendary item slots, raids would have more easily remained the domain of the raiders and that aura been more exclusive to them.

But no, they had to coerce people into raid by kitten-teasing them there, rather than let raid be for raiders.

IMO, just like for PVP, Anet outplayed themselves here.

I wanted to pull this comment out.
I also have incinerator and the ascension. So I’ve done both the time gated thing and the farm it out thing, assuming the acquisition gates in these two legendaries especially are different.

Some things I noticed
Time gated legendary (The Ascension):
-Being one of the first few people to get it was so cool! I mean I would show that thing off big time and it was very prestigious, even if it looked bad, it felt awesome.
-Now it is the cheapest and least exciting legendary to get with really no prestige at all. (Unless you can’t pvp lol)

Just farmed (Incinerator)
-It was cool when I got it, but not super prestegious.
-I still enjoy it now as much as I did when I made it, and any chance I get I strut that stuff.

I liked what this guy said at least, because I found truth to it in what I experienced before and what I experience now when I raid.

Even if you can farm LI’s, does it mean anything until you git gud and clear every encounter?

If the future raid wings don’t contribute anything to legendary armour collections, how does that reflect player skill; and where is the prestige once we have hit wing 10 or even wing 20?

Hi guys, with the recent release of the legendary armour we have discovered that the LI requirement is actually a lot higher than what we first expected. To complete all 3 armours, you would need to kill every raid boss every week for the next year and 2 months. There is a LOT of things to discuss about this, that the high requirement is good, and also that it is bad. But I have an idea that might cater to both the developers visions and prestige… and the cry from the community to reduce the requirement.

How about removing LI from the boss chests and instead rewarding them as part of the event rewards?

There is a lot more to say about this then what I will say, but this would allow for us to:
-Farm the LIs
-Give the Devs more control over acquisition
-Incentivise players to go for legendary armour and second sets
-Remove LI’s from latter wings and open opportunities for the developers to add new rewards.

Well that’s just my idea at least

Is animation cancelling a thing in this game?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zlater.6789

Zlater.6789

What they are talking about here and what you are used to in eso are different. It comes to the way the game handles cool downs.

In eso there is a global cool down on skill usage. They need this system so you don’t do unlimited DPS by spamming force pulse for example as fast as you possibly can. They put a global cool down on categories for example:
1 light / heavy attacks
2 skills
3 weapon swap
4 block etc
By overlapping another type of global cool down you actually remove the former one from the queue, and the animation is cancelled with any prior damage still remaining.

In guild wars 2 every individual skill either has a cast time, channel duration or individual skill cool down, not to mention after cast durations.

So what does this mean to you? Well when someone says animation cancelling they mean in the terms of jukeing. That’s when you use a skill with a very big tell to trick someone into doing something. For example on Revenant I can use my herald elite to trick my opponent into wasting a dodge roll. However when I animation cancel that ability I cancel the cast of that ability, a self-interrupt if you may. In pve also I can save it for a tiny bit later if someone already finished that break at, or save myself from an accidental cast. This is what they mean.

In terms of what you are talking about, there are some limited times when you can cancel the after cast of an ability to make activation of the next ability. However because the only effective way to do it is with weapon swap (stow weapons has its own animation frame) which has a 9s cool down; nobody ever mentions it.

Side note:
Guild wars 2 doesn’t have global cool downs on skills. This means you can spam instant cast skills inside of other skills or just over and over as fast as you can.

That’s very helpful, I understand it possible to squeeze even more out if you can get the timing just right on passive signet procs in CS. But that shouldnt be considered because it should only be possible if you are not maintaining your rotation correctly. And the rotation isn’t built for the primary purpose of sharing might/swiftness/fury/regeneration(well this one a little)/vigor/protection, it’s there for quickness and alac.

I’m not really worried about my role as a mesmer, I only ask because I want a deeper understanding of how the group is designed to function as a whole. This time specifically pertaining to might.

As a mesmer I passively maintain 5 might on my group through Signet of Inspiration. With alacrity the CD is 16 seconds and traited i get a passive and active proc. This means theoretically SoI should be going off every 8 seconds, not including conti split.

Signet of Inspiration gives 1 might to your group for 40 seconds at 100% boon duration. This would mean that if SoI is used every 8 seconds, I should be maintaining a permanent 5 might on my party. With conti split giving me an extra 1 might every 60 seconds, but also breaking my rotation for 6 seconds, I should get around 5.4 might technically.

This is also assuming 100% alacrity uptime.

I am just looking to confirm this because I am wondering about might uptime and how to theorycraft it into a group. Just tell me if this is true if I missed anything and if I am wrong and why. Thanks Heaps

Math on 25 might

hmm that fair, I agree that focussing on dps is a good thing.

I don’t really ask because I am interested in a warrior’s dps though, I am just interested in the numbers.

Ok so chrono doesn’t copy paste all of the might stacks, they only copy paste 1 stack of might that lasts for 40 seconds. That means I am asking the wrong question, I should be asking how much does a chrono contribute to might? I will go ask more experienced chronos this question. Thank you for your time guys, cya.

I think shortbow on thief is an amazing weapon, like it’s a utility weapon, but every skill is useful, actually extremely useful without being ovedpowered.

A spammable blast finisher/ good aoe, an evade/ repositioning skill, one of the few pulsing are poison fields into the game that can be blasted for weakness, and infiltrators arrow, which doesn’t need an intro. Not only that it’s 1skill can also immobilise.

Hi guys, just popping into the warrior forums to ask a newb question.
For all purposes of my question, I am just talking about the meta mirror comp that we use in PvE.

This one is about ps warriors and their ability to generate might. Every guide and etc that I find says that the warrior is responsible for maintaining 25 might on their party/subs quad. However how much might are they actually required to produce themselves?

The reason I ask this is actually for a lot of reasons that are probably going to have me glued to the training golem for days lol. But it comes from when my friend and I were training on the golem, her on a ps warrior and myself on mesmer. In truth we were mostly just dinking around with silly ideas and trying silly things. But we actually found that if for example she decided to use defense, on average she was able to maintain 23 might. Which was a lot, but by herself it was a lot lower.

So in a group the mesmer obviously contributes a lot to might with signet, so I guess that it seems as long as she can maintain 12.5 (guessing lol) might herself, the mesmer can then redistribute the rest. So do ps warriors aim for a personal might target when they train or are by themselves, and what would that be? Or maybe I’m totally wrong.

Thanks for linking me here, I posted elsewhere with how I got in. Just to make it more clear there was also an update to the character select screen this patch. Usually Arc + BGDM caused crashes earlier for me so just incase try to simply delete your Bin and Bin64 folders, which you can locate wherever you have guildwars saved. This will delete any addons you have installed and force the game to download fresh copies of the DLL’s. Also so you don’t miss anything.

So I refuse to farm for Leadership Runes...

This was something I am vested into at the moment, so I did some easy math.

Total stat contribution
Durability: 600
Traveller + water: 590
Traveller + water without condi: 420
Herald: 400 (+protection when no druid)
Leadership: 702
Leadership without condi: 666

These are all suitable options. For every rune that also provides some bonus stats to condition damage or duration I also removed that stat because we are comparing the effectiveness of that rune.

There are many other points to mention that work in favor of leadership runes, but this just a bare bones look at what each of the runes bring.

Even in gors you can clear orbs as a thief, you just have to do them when they show up. Not before your group is about to wipe from orbs.

Anet I keep getting this same thing happen. When I need to meet moto to use my continue coins, most of the time instead of it being a smooth and pain free process. I keep getting this thing where it bounces me all over the screen locking my skills on CD and flashing the use coins button. It goes on for as long as it wants, sometimes I can break free by trying to use some skills, other times I break free but I am stuck in some other place in the room unable to use anything… just slowly watching all of my work in W2Z3 Tribulation mode count for nothing.

Urgh there is nothing like knowing you’re getting trolled and wasting time and doing it anyway and then actually getting trolled for real while you are already being trolled. Here is a picture I managed to take, I will try to record a video when I see it again.

Lets talk about precursor armour

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zlater.6789

Zlater.6789

Ok I just need to discuss this, because this is something I’m going for personally.

I think many of us have very strong opinions about the precursor armour and how it looks and are kinda concerned about how the legendaries will look. So I wanted to share a few of mine and hear some of yours and hopefully the design team will take it into consideration.

Heavy Armour, looks really good, everyone I’ve spoken to about it, they all say this is their favourite one.

Light armour, this one has a few problems but I think also has the biggest potential.
-I love the shoulders and I’m keen to see how the face transforms on the legendary version.

-The chest is :S, please get rid of that rotting skull that is extremely uncomfortably jammed up between my chest bits. Like who thought that was a good idea anyway? We have plenty of armour choices that have dead animal bits attached to them for light armour, why do you have the make the legendary another one. It just looks disgusting and you know… physics.

-The boots I just don’t understand either, I suggest making them less clunky. I totally get clunky heavy armour, but not light around, that doesn’t look go at all.

-The legs I wanna ask if you can make them stick out less, but I have a very strong feeling they are going to actually split at the back and wrap around more. I think that would look good.

Medium Armour, is the one I saved to last because this is the one that I am going for first. Oh my gosh, if I just take away a couple of things, it would be perfect!

-The shoulders suck, I think they are going to come alive or something, I don’t want that, you can’t fix it, I’m never going to wear those. I think I’ll save it for my medium armour necromancer or my medium armour dragon hunter, it would be thematically appropriate on those -.-

-The mask actually looks pretty cool from the front. I don’t know if this is too hard to do for Legendary armour, but I really want a mask with which I can see my hair. I know it’s a nightmare to make because of clipping, and I know you are thinking it’s impossible. But we both know it’s possible ;D, just really hard, I wouldn’t ask for it on any other armour, but because it’s going to be legendary, and our only legendary armour, please can you think about investing a little more time into this? Is it too much work for an Extremely Special Legendary?

-I like heels, but I don’t think armour should have heels xD

-The Jerkin looks really nice and I think I will consider using it except for 1 big thing! The belt is stupidly out of place! There are enough dead body parts attached to the armours, I’m not too keen on spines. If I was a spineaholic I would use the accursed guise. Most people aren’t into those things I’m guessing, and there are these really cool loops they are hiding, there is something good that they are ruining.

-The pants I really like, not really special, but they are very nice and dye REALLY well.

Well that’s my input on the armour anyway, I wanted to put this in because I know many others are really kinda scared about how the legendaries for medium and light will turn out. You scared me more by releasing the heavy one first too, because that one looked good anyway. kudos to whoever came up with the design for that, the other ones though, please please take some of this into consideration

2 preision to get to 100%(99%).
This is considering you have standard raid buffs, banners and spotter.

For fractals it doesn’t matter because you get a lot of precision from potions with the mastery.

Sigil Proposals

in PvP

Posted by: Zlater.6789

Zlater.6789

We’ve decided that Sigil of Lethargy (slow) will not be a thing that happens.

Thanks for changing your mind on this.

Just from a quick assessment of the forum, when we look at the sigil changes everyone proposed in the last thread and the sigil changes you made in this thread, it’s pretty clear what is happening I think.

Consensus is that direct damage sigils or sigils that provide major improvements to damage are not wanted, mostly.

Consensus is that people want more sigil selection options.

Consensus is that people are looking for sigils that add something to gameplay. Especially in the way of utility, or to make up for something they can’t achieve on their class.

I think the discrepancies are that yes there are new sigils like Revelation and Lethargy that achieve the last point very well, but there isn’t enough.

A few things people are looking for in sigils:
*Burst damage options
*Unique condition application
*Sustain options
*Counter play options
*Gameplay augmenting options
*Unique boon application

And they seem to want choice, a larger selection, sigils that are perhaps more powerful, but deal less damage.

You could take a game play augmenting option like bloodlust, this is just about never used, but the one time that it is, it is a key part of that build and one that people consciously play around having.

It’s being removed but there is not a suitable replacement for it.

There is not a burst damage option that can be used outside of mid combat
There isn’t a sustain option a squishy class can depend on.
Support roles don’t have an option that adds anything to their gameplay.
Boon dependant classes are still fishing for tiny might uptime.

Maybe it’s worth looking back through some of the sigils the players recommended, because while true some of them are crazy, a number of them I personally would be happy to have.

This is my little bit that I want to contribute to the game and making it better. I hope you agree with me.

Sigil Update

in PvP

Posted by: Zlater.6789

Zlater.6789

Please don’t remove bloodlust. It is an important part of playing Thief and it’s a really fun thing, because it is a point of conflict, should I weapon swap for bloodlust or stay on d/p for the blind/stealth/cleave/burst if I need it in a moments time.

I would like to recommend some on weapon swap sigils.

Blast sigil:
0 damage point blank blast finisher on weapon swap while in combat.

Whirl sigil:
0 damage whirl finisher (3) on weapon swap.

This would add a whole new layer to the game by improving on profession themes, improving on high level play without gimping newer players.

For example you would improve on a Mesmer support capability by increasing its group condition cleansing. Giving thieves a bit more group utility with aoe stealth. A little more burn access to a condition rev, well you get my drift.

Official Skill Balance Thread: 22 February Update

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zlater.6789

Zlater.6789

Stealth and Alacrity are both profession buffs (technically) but are now much more widely available. Thieves are no longer the only ones with access to stealth, and chronos likewise with alacrity.

At the moment if you remove revealed. Then made both of these and superspeed boons instead of profession buffs, you would have the perfect pairing for every boon and condition. Where taunt is actually the technical opposite of stealth, where chill is the technical opposite of alacrity, and superspeed being an extremely suitable pairing for immob. It would be a very interesting shakeup and would tremendously help simplify the boons and conditions structure in the game. On a fundamental level.

So my question is, do you have any plans in the future to standardise common buffs and turn them into boons? Or would it be something you’d be interested in doing soon?

I want to have control over the outcome of a match, I want my side to have the advantage and I don’t ever want to lose.

That’s why I vote no, because I want freedom and control and I want to be able to manipulate the match in my favour. Anyone who says my way of thinking is wrong,
doesn’t play pvp to win.

I think matches should be locked after the warming up phase, but I don’t think we should be stuck during the warming up phase. Because THAT time is the time you are supposed spend preparing and getting ready for a match, including getting your team ready. If you lock it, get rid of the warm up time or allow premade teams, and stop wasting my time.

And this is an example of why PvP is in it’s current state.

What state? There is no state of good or bad, there is no advantage or disadvantage no imbalance.
There is only gain or loss. The cheapest legendary ever, a full set of ascended gear with hot stats available, enough gold to live off, and tonnes of champ bags, mats etc etc. These are some of the things avaliable, and really all without a lot of effort.
The only thing that would affect your ability to get these things, is your ability. If you don’t have the ability to stand on point, to use a viable build or play a better suited class is nobody’s fault but your own. As the saying goes, a bad tradesman always blames his tools.
