I dont want to be pessimistic but i doubt that most of the ppl that were playing in launch they still play, but yeah there are more new ones came as well

I’ve been around since beta. Yeah. Seems like less people I knew are around or if they are, they only log in now and then. My friends and family have pretty much moved off as well. I ask why and they don’t really seem to know they just shrug.

Guess I’m not an “everybody” then as I like underwater. Combat and all. However, I’m fine with it as is and don’t think they need to tinker with it when there is so much more they could be doing.

1100 tokens that could be spent on staves to be thrown into the mystic forge for a possible precourser.

I would rather run WvW for three days and get my PVT armor from badge vendors.

And u have to pay golds and silvers plus badges

Wait. Do you mean by repairs? Last I looked you could still grab the PVT armor with just badges OR you can use fewer badges plus money to buy the same piece.

I see people are still doing the forum wars but let me just say I enjoyed fighting you JQ and BG. Was some fun had and even with all the forum banter (good and bad) I will miss ya, you goons. HOWEVER, we will match up again and from there, fun fun. I’m just sad I never got into a score update with cuddles Ah well. Mayhaps the next time we meet.

We should all have had a dance party, all three servers, a good natured dance party before we began a great threeway. No…not that kind of threeway you prevs.

Not sure why I’m jumping back into this mostly trolled board (outside the fact I read it) but come on. If they make it random, what does it matter what Tier you’re in? I’m in Tier 1 randomly! hahaha losers. Seriously? Yeah yeah. New scoring whatever. I think it’s great they are switching it up, but then I guess it will remain about the color instead of the fights. hahah I’m green! hahaha. etcetc.

And after seeing two score updates no one has said it’s over 9000 yet? Maybe it’s no longer funny? Hmm.

Also… am I now a duck too?

I know this will be different for a forum that likes to go so toxic but I enjoy fighting you all BG and JQ. Of my little guild of 5 (my girl, uncle, cousins) I’m the only one out there day after day for most of the time zones and I love it. Zerg, small groups, whatever. I like trying to stealth supply camps or yaks or run into a 1v1. A few days ago I fought a little Asura ranger that just would not go down. Every hit I threw seemed to be blocked or catch them invulnerable. Not sure what they were specced out as but man, what a fight. I did win in the end though and gave a bow. Tough little bugger moving all over the place and myself being guardian, well, you know how that is.

And one day talking to my cousin in vent as I kept linking different armor into T. Dur… I had a brain fart and forgot T in that case was the whole server out there. Yeah, I felt stupid when I was called out to stop linking. ^.^ And in TS looking for the press to talk button so they knew I wasn’t a GASP spy. Then when asked to type X in Team, I again had a brain fart. Yeah, that happens to me when I’m trying to find a button in a program I haven’t used and asked to reply or type. Another dur moment.

I’m not sure why this thread goes so toxic when we should just be having fun out there in whatever way we can. As someone who has seen most of their loved friends and family buried, remember life is short and you need to chill and enjoy while you can. And cuddles, I gotta get in one of your SS of the score. :P
——
TL;DR Enjoy the game while you can and as much fun as you may have making these threads go negative, we should enjoy the match up and just fight in game. It IS only a game.

Disconnects (only during GW2)

crimsonbro.3126

You know, since the last patch, I’ve run into much the same. It’s like the game freezes and when I tab out I can see that lovely yellow over my net connection even though all the router lights that should be flashing, are. I have to close down GW2, hit reset on my router, then I can be online fine. Until I fire up GW2 again. Sometimes it stays on, sometimes not. I’m not 100% sure it’s the router (Netgear WNDR 3700v2 with firmware v1.0.0.36) but I do know it doesn’t seem to happen off GW2 and no one is accessing my router where I live. Closest neighbor about a mile away.

Anyone else having similar issues? For me I was thinking router firmware updated recently. AC powering on causing a hiccup. GW2 itself. Or my ISP. If it keeps up I’ll bypass the router completely and see what happens as a first step.

State of WvW. Anet, its getting boring.

1. Unkillable NPCs – Gameplay scenario- Run to camp, see there is a buff, and then just stand there for a few minutes. Boring. No NPC guarding an objective should be unkillable ever

2. Overpowered arrow carts. What? I want to fight people, not some arrow cart that I cannot see. This just means that a small group cannot take an objective and so everyone need to zerg even more than before. Boring.

.

Yeah, the AC are way overpowered at this point. I’ve been seeing in a ZvZvZ groups setting them up in the open field and nearly wiping everyone. By unkillable NPCs I’m guessing the ones that guard the supply places? I forget what they are called but they hit like a kittenkitten. Forgive me if I haven’t run into others. But these can be taken down rather quick with dark fields from what I’ve seen as nothing else seems to harm them, fire just seems to power them up, then bam, something hits and suddenly they melt.

Are they timed? I’m not sure. I’ve run from and attacked one forever and no luck. Then a group swarmed me and that was that. But I’ve only seen dark fields hurt them from the start. Unless I’m very mistaken. Which is possible.

Unofficial "Dueling" Area in WvW: Look!

in WvW

Posted by: crimsonbro.3126

crimsonbro.3126

This game simple needs somewhere in the game a “collosseum”, where players can duel in various kinds of matters. (gameplay modes)
I’d place that collosseum for example somewhere into the near of divinities reach, north of it in a new explorable territory.

Survival = 1 players vs. monsters until death, so longer you survive, so better the rewards

1vs1 = Duels of even leveled 1 player against 1 player, same goes for 2vs2, 3vs3 and 4vs4
——-
1vs2, 1vs3, 2vs3, 2vs4 ,2vs5
These kinds of modes for duels of higher level players against multiple players with lower levels

Timed
Beating a series of monsters as quick as possible. So faster you are, so better the rewards.

Mixed Up > 1vs1 consisting either of monsters or other players randomously.

Daily Tournaments > Fix set up registered players wil fight in mini-tournaments 1vs1.
The one who wins that tournement, gets a bigger reward at the end.

People which know the .hack G.U games know surely, how such a kind of feature should work for GW2 about a collosseum.
This kind of collosseum could then be also divided up into 4 difficulties.

Bronze = Level 1-20
Silver = Level 21-40
Gold = Level 41-60
Platinum = Level 61-80

and could get increased maybe in future to a 5th and 6th difficulty if the level cap should get ever raised

Mithril > 81-90
Orihalcum > 91 to 100

I like this. Add in a place for people to watch (if it was in there sorry, I’m tired) and I’d certainly be there to check it out. Although watching people go at it on youtube is pretty entertaining. I remember a mod I had for UT2004 that had you killing a ton of monsters that just kept spawning. It was pretty fun. Way off topic I know. Sorry. Like I said, tired.

Per 300000000001 accounts:

events : 2

You have a better chance of hitting a “unicorn”, TODAY, with a rock you threw when you were 6 years old.

That’s still a better chance than never having thrown the rock in the first place. Can’t win a lotto if you don’t play. On a rather sad note, I wonder how many people vendor or salvage a precursor? I know the first week (early start included) I vendored dusk. I didn’t know what it was “..used to make legendary blahblah..” Oh that’s interesting, I thought to myself. Then vendored. Yup. Kicking myself now that I actually know what it is but I didn’t look it up then, I just needed the silver.

Since then, I’ve had no precursor drop.

As a guardian you’ll want to get used to dodging. You can get some pretty big heals to yourself and those around you if you trait it right and have a bit of healing power. Not to mention, dodging is a great way to avoid damage. I used double tap for a long time, but have it bound to my mouse 4 button now, right by my thumb. Makes it easier. Not to mention I rolled off far to many JP.

WvW is something I do everyday. For the map completion. I’m currently stuck in Eternal Battlegrounds, needing just a FEW more points (99% world completion is driving me batty!) and then I’ll most likely never return. Frankly, I think making us go into WvW for map completion is not the best design. My guess is they were thinking “Ah hah! We’ll make them travel in WvW to get 100% explored and maybe they will take a liking to it. Good job folks!”

And for all I know, that may be true for some people. Get in there and get the thrill and stick around. Back in beta and during the stress tests the Mists were PACKED with people. Oh man. And the sPvP was a blast. Equal team numbers at least, if nothing else. But soon “those” kinds of people began to show up. Instead of having fun, it was “You suck, L2P n0ob” as they won or lost. Didn’t matter. Now here we are, all this time later, and the mists seem empty when I run through.

And WvW? Well, it seems to be packed with L2P spouting kitten. If you are good and completely destroy someone, there’s no need to rub your kitten in their face and belittle them. There have been times in a rare 1v1 where it was downright exhilarating, fun and oh so close. And the end was a salute and run off to the next battle with no stomp.

So while the general PvE crowd is fun and pleasant, the WvW\PvP crowd is a completely different animal. Many of us work or go to school or have family to watch over and we come to this world to relax. I’m here to have fun, try to meet nice people, and get away from a bad RL. Getting screamed at by someone that was part of a zerg, or just very good, is not my idea of fun. Never was.

In the real world, respect is usually shown to your opponent. It doesn’t matter what sport or activity, you act like an adult and take your thrashing, or enjoy your victory. Gloating and insulting are never a good thing.

TL;DR? WvW community is not as friendly and fun as PvE community. If I’m not having fun, I’m not gonna be doing it. I think that general laid back feeling applies to many. Though I could be wrong? To each their own and all that.

But that’s the problem. Not many come to the forums compared to those that play. I browse now and again, but that’s about it. Game forums usually = I quit posts, whining and general negativity so, honestly, it’s not a surprise people will enjoy the game and avoid the crap. Even at the expense of missing something, somewhere about something.

Guild Missions [merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: crimsonbro.3126

crimsonbro.3126

Yeah. Small guild I’m in it will take forever to get these guild missions but we’ll work towards it. Me, my better half and friends and family. We’ve went a long way but bigger guilds will rule and smaller ones will break. If they are in a rush to get these cool new guild missions that are, apparently, only aimed at big guilds. sure you could blow a wad of gold and bammy, have the stuff but come on. Casual gamers. Casual guild. So it will be a long time.

Since beta and all the stress tests this is the first time I’ve thought, well, you know. Still having fun everywhere else though and still throwing money at cosmetics (better half is good for that ^^) bah. I’m rambling.

Small guilds this is bad for us if we want the guild missions NOW. But given time, if you can keep your guild playing and intact, they will come. Hard to leave RL friends and such to go to a bigger guild of strangers just for these. Sad panda. <has that been used in awhile? Hmm...>

Finishing your dailies for Laurels.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: crimsonbro.3126

crimsonbro.3126

Ahhh yeah. This was all a good read and what have you but in the end, if you’re casual, you’re not really going to care if you have best in slot. You’ll have what is best for you or what looks best. Hell, my wife saw the cat with the hat, whatever it’s called, so now when she does do her dailies (which usually takes 30 minutes at most for us) everything earned is being saved for that kitten cat.

Does she need it? Will it help her stats? No and not at all. But does she WANT it? Oh yes. Just as soon as I saw the Quaggan backpack was coming I knew she’d have it as soon as she logged in and guess what, she does. She loves it. I play every day and got my exotics and karma all very fast but I’ve yet to step into any dungeon. I was in the beta, pre-ordered the collector edition of the game for the neato stuff and still only have 99% world completion. Curse you eternal battlegrounds!

But I doubt I’ll ever have a legendary and I don’t see myself ever finishing my story as the last part, where I am, seems to need a group. Rambling here I guess but so what? My view on all this is very very simple. It’s a game. Play it for fun. If you’re hardcore stats or casual keep it simple and keep it fun. I’ve heard of people spending $100s on gems to turn to gold to help with legendary or whatever. Ok. I love the skins on them too but it’s just not worth the money or time to me. Though I would like one, I don’t play with it as a goal.

People that have the time to play all the time should get their ‘rewards’ for it. People that have less time, well, we’ll get what we get. Seems to me if you only work 1 hour, you shouldn’t expect to get the same perks as someone that works 10 or 15. Like people trying to smash to the next level cap as soon as possible. What’s the rush?

I make time for friends and family and game time and it’s all good and I don’t care who gets what faster in game. It’s fun. When it stops being fun, I’ll just be gone. No quitting post or drama. Just gone. I like the system and wish the monthlies didn’t need dungeons or WvW as they don’t get completed by me because of that, but I don’t care that others do manage it. So long as they had fun.

Does this need a TL,DR? If so… it’s a game. It’s supposed to be fun. Why suffer gear envy if you’re really a casual anyway? People that can put in many many hours will naturally have the “better” stuff. Have fun here or somewhere else and that’s all that matters. Life’s too short.

But Orr areas. I don’t hang out there much, trying to get the POI’s and vistas with the super fast respanws and mob density is just too frustrating.

Have you been to Orr recently? The mobs have been cut down quite a bit. I used to hate it now it’s not so bad really. And fishing? Yes please. I found it fun enough in two of the last MMOs I played. Especially with a chance at random loot for whatever crazy reason.

Hesitant to help due to dodge daily.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: crimsonbro.3126

crimsonbro.3126

Funny, this happened to me in Orr the other day. I saw someone being attacked and went to help. After killing the three or so Risen he said "No! I was doing the daily dodge! " So I replied “Gah. I’m sorry.” And went on my way as more Risen popped in. Not a bad exchange really, but being a guard, I don’t kill super fast. I wish they had said “Doing DD!” See, I’d have stopped then and used kit to lose aggro and got out of there.

I’ll still help NPCs and still help people that look like they are getting mashed as that’s just how I play. But honestly, there are some great zones to get DD and Rezing very very easily. Frostgorge comes right to mind. If you have only a bit of time left before dailies roll over I can see being a bit upset, but being rude to someone that was trying to help doesn’t seem like the right way. Instead you could, I don’t know, ask them to please train mobs to you? I certainly would to try and help, especially after messing up their DD.

It’s a game. We’re all here for fun. At least, I hope that’s why we are here.

I never did get the clock tower one. Too many people maybe? Not fast enough? I just wasn’t having fun at one point so that was that. But this one I liked very much. Still busy and still timed and man it sucks getting to end and the present blows you were jumping towards or you get hit by the skritt thing the first time. But a few tries and now I can do it ALMOST every try. I still fall though, enough to look sad. But get back up and go again after a bit of a snowball fight if anyone is throwing down. I tend to usually miss those half candy cane deals (which should be easy) where I jump between them or hit the first and miss the second. Dur… >.<

I also finished the Lost Shores jump puzzle which I found VERY frustrating. Especially the first time I made it to the middle I was like.. WOOHOO!!!!… only to find out I had a whole other side of fun stones and boats and jumps. But got both chests and hey, it sure did feel like an achievement, no matter how easy it was for others.

That being said, my wife can’t seem to do it and gave up. Both of those actually. She uses the mouse to turn, has the high angle, good PC, good connection, she just misses. Bad timing I suppose. Or I’ve seen someone post a wall of text in /say just to mess people up. Nice…

For me there’s a fine line between challenge fun and frustrating. I’m sure it’s different for everyone. But if it’s too frustrating, it’s just not worth it to me. It’s a game. I’m here for fun. And yes, a little frustration in a jp CAN be fun but, you know, that depends on each person.

But this rises another question, if it says 7/6 runes (or higher than 7/6), but have 6/6 runes on my gear, would that affect anything like what stat I get from the rune, or would it just be a display bug like what Trollhammer said ?

It is just a display bug. It won’t have any bearing on your PvE stats. Aside from, you know, showing you have more than 6 runes.

Silly… don’t come into a game forum and ask that. Those of us having fun are in game, not here. I have a few RL friends playing and my wife and I’m the only one that comes to the forums. I usually only play with my wife. Erm…in game that is. But I love to help people out here IF I can. Getting swamped, I’ll hop in. Doing events? I’m game. Need an answer? I’ll whisper it if I know it. DE? Heck yeah. But as for grouping up? Sadly, my net likes to DQ me and depending on where the group is, I may or may not be able to get back. So I am nothing but dead weight.

I don’t want to drag anyone down with my crapnet if it decides to misbehave and sometimes, DQing at just the right moment is a terrible terrible thing.

At least going solo, while helping when I see someone doing something I can help with, I’m not a bother. Oh yeah, I’m also a horrendous typer when I’m trying to play so my words get very scrambled. Seriously.

..sigh, well judging by the commentary, it appears I am not a very good player then. I am not one to complain though, I was just commenting based upon my own experiences.

I prefer ranged type play style so play a Ranger. I like the guardian but not the in-your-face portion of it with the broadsword.

Strang.8170, Ayrilana.1396 and ShadowPuppet.3746 all have very valid points, I do need to learn better strategy but I am not a hard core player preferring instead to amble through a game for fun.

I usually run with guild mates and they are all very accommodating in helping me. But this old timer is just not that fast on the uptake any more so my reactions are a bit slow.

But, they like my jokes and use me as bait a lot. lol I am fairly good natured so enjoy the banter. I keep telling them I’ll change the sandwich I seem to have attached to my back if I can find a better one than PB&J.

You sound like the kind of player this game was supposed to be for. Casual and fun. I usually go solo through those areas and, honestly, it took some time. I like to oooo and ahhh at the landscape and then, bam, mobs. Whoops. But it gets easier, as you seem to say in a later post. Just keep playing and finding the fun where you can. Lots of fun to be had all around you and it has little to do with gear\gold grinding. You have a good guild from the sounds of it, that makes a difference.

lol. you know… I hate HATE the people behind these jumping puzzles. That being said, I can’t stop myself from doing them. I rage when I fall. I laugh when I complete. I whine when I see I’m only half way there. And it’s not like you have to do them, but they can be maddeningly addictive if you are like me and just ‘have’ to do it. Kudos then and at the same time curse you!!
