With a server filled with 90% (if not more) transfers, it’s just a hilarious observation that every Blackgate player says they never transferred there.

Blackgate entered Tier 1 in March 2013 if my memory serves me correctly, well before the ‘Blackgate buys half the GW2 playerbase’ came around.

And lets be honest, any guild in Tier 1 and 2 has bought guilds. It’s a thing. People need to accept it and move on already.

Back on topic I guess, I wouldn’t mind having a title for it but I wouldn’t use it myself. It’s a bit tacky.

We are looking into the issue right now. Until we know more, that’s all I can tell you at the moment.

It has been resolved, but there isn’t really anything we can do after a match has been running to provide recompense. However, we’ll at the very least look into what we can do to possibly have a system for that in the future. As well as try and sort out what exactly happened so it doesn’t happen again.

Pretty easy. There are unpleasant people everywhere, but there does happen to be a great deal of pleasant people on TC.

Also, TC is capable of competing in T1 if they could get coverage.

Hmmmm I’m liking the WvW in Blackgate thus far, though can’t say the same for PvE (the amount of people is epic though, great for completing the living stories). I was in Kessex Hills killing a champ with a zerg and couldn’t figure out why I was getting damaged with the corrupted/toxic spore icon when there was no obvious thing attacking me, so I asked why others weren’t getting damaged (as they were literally in the same spot as me) and this Roger Malone guy said “you’re standing in spore blankity blank blank”. Worse thing was another player ditched in and insulted me. I never got that (at least only rarely) in Piken Square. I hope the whole server isn’t like that when just asking a simple question – I feel I can’t ask people anything now in Blackgate :-/

Always going to have a few rotten apples – generally when you ask a question everyone’s pretty friendly with the new content. Feel free to hit me up if you ever want someone to play with during that timezone though ^^

We also have a decent NA, Oceanic and SEA presence so you’ll be able to play not just with us but Blackgate as a whole regardless of what time you’re on

BG is where it is today because a ton of guilds were paid to go there and then a ton of guilds followed after because of anets encouragement to bandwagon to servers.

Blackgate solidified themselves in Tier 1 several months ago before this whole ‘Season 1 Recruitment’ arms race started happening.

This exactly. Wasn’t sure if someone was trolling or this was a legitimate post.

Always try and go for the clovers first – as someone else mentioned above, when you fail to make one quite often you’ll be producing T6 mats instead.

As a personal preference I’ve always gone for the 10s recipe – just finished making clovers for my second incinerator and ended up getting 50 mystic coins as a fail drop in my second go. 10s has always been a better rate for me than 1s.

Putting my bias out there right now, Blackgate has a pretty good population for when you’d be on in the afternoon (NA PST primetime) and we have a reasonable amount of English speaking Oceanics and SEA players who seem to be insomniacs and don’t go to bed until about 3-4am.

However any T1 server will have enough coverage for the timezones you’re after.

May also pay to ask this question in the WvW forums for a better response rate too

Definitely not for December 10th patch – keep in mind all sorts of changes like these are tested and completed well in advance of the release date.

KnT is looking for another guild or two to have funsies (casual GvG’s) with during Oceanic at some point this week.

Being a casual PvE player, I found it really hard to complete the past two patches and actually didn’t manage to finish the meta achievement for either. However I don’t expect them to extend the time or cater for me.

Why should it work the other way round?

All servers have bought guilds.
All servers have had guilds move off the server.
All servers have coverage holes (BG included).

Nobody has any grounds to stand on.

I dunno… I’ve still had some pretty awesome fights part way through the puzzle after the new OS design.

From my experience at least, the first 2 days there was always constant fighting going on right at the start (and today due to reset, queues, etc), but it’s settled down quite a bit and everyone’s just sort of returned to spreading out a tad more.

First things first, there’s a program called Battleping which you should use – helps muchly when playing games. Providing you don’t experience frequent disconnections or noise on your phone line, if you do really care about latency then give your internet provider a call and ask them to turn interleaving off.

Secondly, a ping of near 400ms is unacceptable even if you’re in Australia. I get ~170ms ping from New Zealand, and all of our guildies (even in WA) will be under 300ms. Around 200ms is average for any Kiwi or Aussie playing to any west/mid-west server in the US.

By the looks of the traceroute there’s not really too much you could do in that case but maybe contact Telstra to double check they’re not having any backhaul issues to the US? Very unlikely they’ll admit to anything but it’s worth a shot.

WvW sucks when playing with normal latency issues (not to mention when we had to factor in skill lag), but without meaning to sound rude, you just bite the bullet and learn to play with 200ms+ ping. It’s an unfortunate factor of living on the other side of the world to where you’re playing.

Oceanic sadpanda is sad.

Not only is our NA core full of awesomesauce people, but we have Oceanics too! Especially if you’re a New Zealander, KnT would be the perfect place for you. <3

I don’t even care about the chest or finisher (maybe the AP’s though), but it’s just to say that the size of your kitten is bigger because you won last season.

The best moments had to have been when your server is behind by over 10k and comes back to nail a victory. These come from behind wins during this season makes it even more rewarding.

Oh, and seeing Agg die to an uplevel Ranger zerg.

If you find a pattern of one guild constantly doing it though, maybe contact one of their Officers/GM.

As far as I’m aware, you will always attempt to get in to your server’s ‘Edge of the Mists’ map first before getting in to an overflow, which should make it a lot easier for parties.

However after this I assume it’s the same mechanic of parties ending up in the same overflow. If not you should just be able to right click on them and join in the Edge of the Mists.

Hi guys I recently started GW2 and I am from New Zealand which is a huge disadvantage when your currently on a Western European server (no one on wvw).
So here’s the deal if I was to delete my level 5 character could I move servers for free?
And more importantly what are some big Oceanic or Oceanicish servers which have players that would be on during my time (6:58pm Thursday at the moment)?

On a somewhat serious note, we actually do have quite a few Jafa’s, and one of our commanders even goes as far to make South Auckland jokes and goes “nah honest” when she commands. We also have a guy from Wanganui who gets the brunt of all the rural and sheep jokes we have. Or if you’re feeling like being a bit of a comedian there’s a guy from Christchurch (hi george!) who can take a good earthquake joke. He was actually the one that showed us the Christchurch Harlem Shake video (we’re going to hell).

Shameless self plug aside, if you were to join any PST guild (West Coast NA) the timezone difference is three hours behind them (21 hours ahead, 3 hours behind, same difference) so if you get home from uni/work early then it’s not too bad. I’d suggest any of the T1 servers if you did want a decent Oceanic presence though.

We had a lot of ‘spectators’ that attempted to interrupt the GvG last night (looking at you Maguumies), so lCoa and KnT who weren’t participating in the GvG kindly stepped in to help. Although I have to say, Agg ‘starting a riot in the bleachers’ was hilarious.
